PM Modi inaugurates projects worth ₹614 crore for Varanasi, asks people to promote 'local for Diwali'

Lucknow, Nov 18 () An export promotion body on Monday suggested the government to bring out a separate policy for micro, small and medium units to address their problems.
 The Export Promotion Council (EPC) also urged the Uttar Pradesh government to link such a policy with its one-district one-product scheme. 
 The EPC highlighted various problems like credit availability and fund cost faced by MSMEs and exhorted the state and central governments and the RBI to address these issues on a priority basis.
 "Despite the significant contributions of the MSME sector, this sector is still facing several challenges such as availability of adequate and timely credit, high cost of credit, collateral requirements, access to equity capital and revival of sick units," EPC Chairman D S Rawat said here.
 "In view of these problems, the governments need to bring a separate policy for the micro and small industry and UP government should link its ambitious one-district one-product scheme with it," Rawat stressed.
 To help the sector, the EPC also announced a four-day summit and trade fair on Agro-rural entrepreneurship, unleashing opportunities for youth, women and artisans on February 13-16 in Lucknow followed by SC-ST Entrepreneurship and Women Empowerment in Purvanchal in May next year.
 The trade fair will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will also attend, Rawat pointed out.
 During the press conference, Rawat and Chairman of the UP Chapter of the EPC Harinarayan Rajbhar jointly released the study on MSME Sector - Uttar Pradesh.
 The state has acquired number one position both in numbers and employment.
 Uttar Pradesh has registered a 100 per cent growth in micro, small and medium enterprises between 2015-16 and 2017-18 from 44.03 lakh to 88.89 lakh, according to the study, according to the study undertaken by the MSME Export Promotion Council (MSME EPC).
 The state has been on an average adding 15 lakh new MSME units every year since 2015-16 and providing jobs to more than 165 lakh people, 27.27 lakh to female and 137.92 lakh to male, the study says. SAB SHW MR

The present five year term of the ruling party at the Delhi assembly will close on 22 February 2020 and hence all the 70 assembly seats of Delhi including Rajendra Nagar will go for general elections in February 2020 to select their new MLAs. The upcoming elections will decide who will be put on the Delhi throne for the next five year term. In 2015 general elections conducted for the Delhi assembly from this seat, Vijender Garg Vijay of AAP won this seat. His vote score was 61354. The runner up candidate in this election is R P Singh of BJP who scored 41303 votes. R P Singh had earlier become MLA from this seat in 2013 elections. In this election he defeated Vijender Garg Vijay by scoring 35713 votes. Vijender Garg Vijay had got 33917 votes. Hence there was a thin margin of votes between them numbering 1,796. In 2008 elections, the MLA from this seat was Ramakant Goswami of INC who scored 29394 votes defeating the BJP contestant Asha Yogi. Earlier in three consecutive elections, BJP candidate Puran Chand Yogi had become the MLA from this seat by winning in three elections. In the 2003 elections, he got 22069 votes and defeated INC’s Raj Kumar Kohli. In 1998 elections, he scored 21150 votes and won over IND’s Brahmi Yadav. In 1993 elections, he got 23847 votes and overtook Brahmi Yadav who represented INC in that election.

Rajendra Nagar Assembly Candidate Names in Delhi state election

Noida (UP), May 21 () A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) camp and a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp besides some high rises, posh sectors and villages are among the 63 containment zones identified in Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar, officials said on Thursday. The district adjoining Delhi in western UP has recorded 293 positive cases of coronavirus, including five deaths till Wednesday, they said. Amid the fourth phase of lockdown, the district administration has identified 63 containment zones across Noida and Greater Noida where movement will be restricted in a bid to break the transmission chain of COVID-19. There are 37 Category-I containment zones, which have one positive case, while 26 zones in Category-II have recorded more than one case, the district administration said. Category I containment zones are those where only a radius of 250 metres, or the entire mohalla, has been designated as a containment zone. Category-II zones have a radius of 500 metres along with a buffer of 250 metres. Containment zones will have restricted in and out movement except for emergency cases and essential services. Only healthcare personnel, sanitation workers and door-step delivery services are allowed in such areas, it said in an order. Also, contact tracing and door to door surveillance will be ensured in these areas, besides intervention of medical experts, if needed, it added. "Complete details will be maintained of people coming in or going out of containment zones," the administration said, warning of legal action against rule violators under the National Disaster Management Act, 2005, and Indian Penal Code section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by a government official). Among containment zones in Category-1 are Noida's Sector 19 block B, 40, 41, 46, 48, Sector 68, 7, Ajnara Daffodil in Sector 137, village Chhaprauli in Sector 168, Yakubpur in Sector 83, Sai Upvan near village Haibatpur, Salarpur in Sector 102, Shramik Kunj Sector 110, Purvanchal Royal Park in Sector 137, Jalvayu Towers in Sector 47, village Chhalera in Sector 44, according to an official list. With the increase in the number of coronavirus patients in Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddha Nagar, the number of containment zones is also increasing steadily. At present, the district has a total of 63 containment zones. Gautam Buddha Nagar District Magistrate Suhas L.Y. shared the information on this late on Wednesday night on social media. The tweet from his official Twitter handle stated, "Containment Zone has been updated. (Its) size will be smaller than the previous lockdown. Officers are defining Parameter and Buffer Zone." The Containment Zone is divided into two categories 'First and Second' in the list issued. Accordingly, there are 37 Containment Zones in the first category and 26 in the second category. In the first category, the area of contaiment would be 250 meters, and the second category would be an area of 500 meters. People are being made aware of social distancing and infection prevention measures. The Containment first class zone is where a case of COVID-19 infection has occurred. Thereafter, rescue and relief operations are carried out within a radius of 250 meters, considering the patient's home as the epicentre of infection. On the other hand, a residential area with more than one case is kept in the second category. Considering the houses of infected people as epicentre an area of 500 metres or half kilometre is marked as the containment zone. However, she is a student. There have been reports about teachers, in the state of Uttar Pradesh, who can’t spell 'evaluation' correctly or don’t know what 'audit' means. 
 
Doesn’t this hint at the bigger surrounding the education system in UP, when teachers don’t know the name of the state CM, or the date India gained its independence? 
 
It was on Monday that answer sheets of BA English, History and Economics were being evaluated at the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (ITHM), when the centre's evaluation coordinator smelled something fishy about two teachers and started interrogating them. Turns out, both had valid degrees and were teacher at colleges affiliated with UP universities. 
 
When TOI contacted UP governor and chancellor of the university Ram Naik, he said, "Mail me the details of the teachers. I will get it inquired into and take suitable action." 
 
One of the teachers, Shyam Bahadur is an associate professor in English is working at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, Bareilly. Anil Kumar Pal, the second one, is associate professor in Economics, and works at Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Jaunpur. Both have more than a decade of teaching experience, and yet... 
 
Evaluation coordinator and ITHM director Luvkush Mishra told TOI, "The English teacher used wrong grammar while writing a two-line application letter seeking permission for evaluating papers. And he spelled evaluation as 'evalluation'. He also failed to answer basic questions concerning English. 
 
Pal, on the other hand, didn’t know what 'audit' means, or what 'IMF' stands for. 
 
As per sources, a huge runs cartel behind hiring such teachers, who mostly are employees of private colleges, and are underpaid and made to do all sorts of work. The fact that they have earned degrees also hints at another possible scam in the education system.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief <keyword id="260213" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Arvind-Kejriwal">Arvind Kejriwal</keyword> had spent about half-a-crore rupees during his election campaign against <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword>, even though he claimed that his party was cash-strapped. 
 
According to the details submitted to the district administration, Congress candidate Ajay Rai spent Rs 54.45 lakh, Arvind Kejriwal spent Rs 50.10 lakh and Narendra Modi spent Rs 37.62 lakh. 
 
Varanasi’s Chief Treasury Officer Ramamurthy Dwivedi said that Samajwadi Party’s (SP) Kailash Chaurasiya spent Rs 24.54 lakh while Indira Tiwari of Trinamool Congress spent Rs 14.58 lakh. 
 
According to Varanasi officials, the BJP spent the most (Rs 9.41 lakh) on publicity material, such as handbills, pamphlets, posters, CDs and cassettes. 
 
Samajwadi Party put in Rs 13.20 lakh on publicity while Congress topped the publicity expenditure list, spending a whopping Rs 24.92 lakh on digital media channels, such as SMS, cable network, the Internet and social media. 
 
AAP’s Purvanchal zone convenor Sanjeev Singh claimed that the BJP’s actual expenditure was much higher. “They distributed lakhs of T-shirts and saffron gamchhas (towels) throughout Varanasi. There was unaccounted publicity material funded by corporate houses and then there was publicity material in disguise. The best examples are, perhaps, the huge hoardings for Gujarat Tourism in Varanasi,” he said.
