Of late, the second largest car manufacturer in the country <keyword id="596" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hyundai">Hyundai</keyword> has revamped its i10, i20 and Elantra and they look completely brand new. 
 When all car makers are going for a facelift of their popular cars, can <keyword id="44883" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Maruti-Suzuki">Maruti Suzuki</keyword> be far behind? After giving back to back successes with <keyword id="6379565" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="baleno">Baleno</keyword> and Ciaz, India’s largest car producer went for a facelift of its popular product, <keyword id="6360068" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="swift">Swift</keyword>. Launched decades back, Swift has already experienced a facelift a few years back. 
 The 2017 <keyword id="6911" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="suzuki">Suzuki</keyword> Swift has a radical exterior and a sporty interior, car experts claim. The car is expected to be launched in India late this year or early next year. 
 Look wise, the car stands out from its older generation. However the car is expected to be powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engine as the current car. Built on the same platform of Baleno, the chassis will be a bit lighter and give an edge to the fuel economy that <keyword id="6912" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="maruti">Maruti</keyword> is always known for. 
 
 
As the photos of new Swift started doing round in the internet, car experts and enthusiasts somehow felt the new Swift looks copied from other cars. 
 It’s not the first time that Maruti Suzuki is facing this allegation. When Alto 800, the low priced car of ambitious Indian middle class was launched in 2012, the car’s front bumper, headlights, and front grill resembled that of old <keyword id="6355174" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ford">Ford</keyword> Figo. 
 
And now the allegation is on Swift. So we consulted Faisal Khan, Editor, <a href="http://www.motorbeam.com">MotorBeam.com</a>. 
 "The 2017 <keyword id="103029" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maruti-Swift">Maruti Swift</keyword> does remind me of many cars as the design of India's best selling hatchback gets evolved in its third generation. The front grille reminds me of the <keyword id="42034" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jaguar">Jaguar</keyword> F-Type while the hood is similar to the <keyword id="2429395" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Fiat-Punto-Evo">Fiat Punto Evo</keyword> and the headlights have a similar flow as the <keyword id="3186040" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hyundai-Elite">Hyundai Elite</keyword> i20. The side seems to be inspired from the <keyword id="709856" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mini-Cooper">MINI Cooper</keyword> while the rear will surely confuse people with the Toyota Etios Liva but we can see the design has been influenced from Suzuki's own Baleno hatchback.” “The design of the rear door handles are similar to the <keyword id="55200" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Chevrolet">Chevrolet</keyword> Beat. That's a lot of cars in the all new Maruti Swift." 
 
So Maruti Suzuki fans who are planning to drive the all new 2017 Swift would be able to experience at least 5 cars in one go! That’s incredible!

Here’s the proof

It is raining cars before the festive season. The next one in line to be launched in India is <keyword id="6454902" type="CITY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Fiat">Fiat</keyword> <keyword id="2429394" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Punto-Evo">Punto EVO</keyword>. Fiat will launch the 1.2 and 1.4 litre petrol variants that will produce 68 and 89 PS. A third variant might also come in with the 1.3 litre diesel engine. This should produce 92 PS and should be able to easily zip on the Indian roads. 
 
Lot of cosmetic changes are seen on the exteriors of the car, but more on this once the car is finally launched on 5 August. The car will also sport 16-inch allow wheels and automatic OVRM’s. Internal design changes are also on the cards, which should make the ride a more pleasant one.

The New Fiat Punto EVO Will Be Launched In India On August 5

Evelyn Sharma was the celebrity present for the new <keyword id="6454902" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Fiat">Fiat</keyword> <keyword id="44453" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Punto">Punto</keyword> EVO <keyword id="6356110" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="launch">launch</keyword>. However, more eyes were on the stunning beauty that stood next to Evelyn. The new Fiat Punto EVO is a very good looking hatchback that might just bring Fiat back into the running. Of Crouse with that, Fiat India needs to be more forceful in the market with their campaigns and strategy. 
 
This new car is available in 4 variants. The basic one is the 1.2 L petrol that has 1,172 CC engine with max PS of 68 and is available for 4.55 Lakhs. The next one is 1.4 L petrol, which has 1,368 CC engine and 90 PS power. This one can be picked up for Rs 6.66 lakhs. In the Diesel segment the 1.3 L multijet is available with 1,248 cc engine and 1. 3 L diesel 90 HP (with the same engine) that will perform better than the previous one. These are priced at Rs 5.27 lakhs and 7.1 lakhs respectively. 
 
Fiat has made couple of good changes to the exterior of the car. These include larger headlamps and more aggressive front grill. Fiat is also giving 16-inch alloy wheels with some of the variants of this car. Insides have gone under the knife as well and one can see a soft touch dashboard, nice ambient lights, piano finish central console and sporty dials. Fiat Launches The New Punto EVO In India For Rs 4.55 Lakhs

On Tuesday we saw the launch of <keyword id="6454902" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Fiat">Fiat</keyword> Punto EVO in New Delhi. <keyword id="126368" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Fiat-India">Fiat India</keyword> MD and President, Nagesh Basavanhalli revealed the timeline of cars to come to India this year. At the <keyword id="73154" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Auto-Expo">Auto Expo</keyword> he did mention that at least 4 new cars will come to town. And after the Punto EVO launch he said the next in line to come is Punto Aventura, which is a more rugged version of the Punto for people who like to offroad. Avventura will see the Indian sun in the next 60 days. 
 The other one to come to India will be the premium hatchback from Fiat called Fiat 500 <keyword id="1073121" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Abarth">Abarth</keyword>. The company had introduced the 500 series in India about a decade ago that did not do well with the masses. At that time the customer was not mature enough. However, now the time seems to be right for the company to introduce this premium hatchback as there is demand in this segment as well. The Abarth edition of Fiat 500 should be available for around Rs 22 lakhs that will come by the end of the year. 
 
Fiat has its task cut out for the next couple of months. They need to pull all their weight around so that they can capture a decent size of the market to grow. Otherwise we might see the same story repeated, which happened half a decade ago.

Fiat India Will Launch Two More Cars In India This Year,
Punto Avventura And 500 Abarth

India's <keyword id="1647723" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="premium-hatchback">premium hatchback</keyword> segment is getting increasingly popular, thanks to the salaried middle class who prefer its features and the convenience it offers in terms of city drivability. The launch of the new <keyword id="45915" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Honda-Jazz">Honda Jazz</keyword> today has further fleshed out. 
 While players like Volkswagen Polo and Punto Evo populate the market, the segment leader has been <keyword id="2452931" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Hyundai-Elite-i20">Hyundai Elite i20</keyword>. What more, the Korean motor company is expected to fit its new touch-screen multimedia system on the Elite i20 to make it a sweeter deal. While the Jazz had impressed Indian auto lovers, its only drawback was that it was available with a petrol engine. Now that it has a diesel variant, the scuffle for your attention just got bloodier. Sit back and enjoy the match. 
 
Engine: 
The Honda Jazz now offers a meatier 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel variant that churns out 100PS of power and 200Nm torque. There is also the 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine. Yeah, the same that is at the core of the Amaze and Brio. It generates 90bhp and 110Nm of torque at 4,800rpm. 
The Elite i20 also offers two options. Its 1.2 Kappa Petrol offers 83PS power and 114 Nm of torque. The 1.4 litre CRDi diesel comes with 90PS of power and 220 Nm peak torque. 
 
Features: 
The top variant of the new Jazz boasts of a 6” touch screen infotainment system, complete with navigation, Bluetooth, AUX and USB. Add to that a reverse parking camera, touch-screen climate control, and a height adjustable driver seat. There is also ABS and front airbags. What is lacks is keyless entry and a push button start. 
 
The Hyundai scores where the Jazz misses. It gets reversing parking camera with sensors, push button start and keyless go. However, the navigation and touch-screen climate control would be missed. 
 
Fuel Efficiency: 
While the petrol Elite i20 gives a mileage of 18.24 kmpl, the new Honda Jazz is tuned to give a mileage of 19.0kmpl. The diesel variant of Elite i20 claims to deliver 21.76 kmpl, whereas the diesel Jazz promises a mileage of 27.3kmpl. 
 
The New Jazz has upped the level with its fuel efficiency figures. It has claimed an overall 27.3kmpl, with the petrol returning 18.7kmpl and the CVT bettering it ever so slightly at 19kmpl. The Elite i20 was never quite efficient. It claims 22.54kmpl and18.6kmpl for diesel and petrol respectively. The Jazz has a clear advantage here in terms of numbers. 
 
Price: 
The new Jazz is priced between Rs. 5.3-7.85 lakhs for the petrol and Rs. 6.49-8.59 lakhs for the diesel variants. It is up against the Elite’s numbers that start at Rs 5.30 lakhs and peak at 8.05 lakhs.
