Names including <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=mukesh+ambani">Mukesh Ambani</a>, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Gautam-Adani-controversys-favourite-child-Know-whatsplaguing-his-Australian-dream-now/articleshow/46756349.cms">Gautam Adani</a>, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=amitabh+bachchan">Amitabh Bachchan</a> and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=manmohan+singh">former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh</a> are going to be included in the program. 
 
Khan was earlier stopped at a US Airport after his name matched that of a person on the watch list, prompting diplomatic intervention in the matter. 
 
The personalities won’t have to stand in a queue and head for an automated and designated 'Global Entry Program' counters at US airports. 
 
Officials from both countries held a meeting recently to finalise a list of prominent personalities and India is planning to finalise a list of over 2,000 persons. Once decided, special cards will be issued to them. 
 
The approved names would be able to enter the US through automatic kiosks at select airports, present their machine-readable passport or US permanent resident card at the kiosks, place their fingerprints on the scanner for fingerprint verification and complete a customs declaration before collecting their baggage and exit. 
 
Countries like Netherlands, Panama, South Korea, Germany, Peru, Mexico and Canada are included in America's Global Entry Program.

Mukesh Ambani, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan won’t have to stand in queues for US immigration clearance

After its worst ever defeat in the 2014 <keyword id="6355187" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Lok-Sabha">Lok Sabha</keyword> elections, the Congress has coined a new strategy to reach out to masses of India. It has expanded its media outreach, and surprisingly, this time, the number of spokesperson appointed by the party (52) has surpassed the total number of MPs (44). 
 Congress chief <keyword id="689" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sonia-Gandhi">Sonia Gandhi</keyword> has approved the list of senior spokespersons, spokespersons, secretary media department, media coordinators and media panellists of <keyword id="6362140" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="All-India-Congress-Committee">All India Congress Committee</keyword> (AICC). 
 The party has appointed 4 senior spokespersons, which includes: <keyword id="50339" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ajay-Maken">Ajay Maken</keyword>, Shakeel Ahmed, CP Joshi, Satyavrat Chaturvedi, 17 new spokespersons and 31 media panellists along with two media coordinators. 
 It appears that in the new team of spokespersons has been formed to save the party from landing in controversies every now and then. According to a news report, it will also give the Congress more teeth to strengthen its campaign against the <keyword id="6360789" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Modi-Government">Modi government</keyword>'s controversial Land Bill. It is believed that this bill is an amended version of a law enacted when the party was in power, the news report added. 
 On March 11, former <keyword id="6594769" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Prime-Minister-Manmohan-Singh">prime minister Manmohan Singh</keyword> was summoned as an accused by a Special Court in a case pertaining to allocation of Talabira-II coal block in Odisha in 2005. Singh has been asked to appear before the court on April 8.

 And that brings another startling fact to the forefront. If reading less is a global malady, men could be suffering more from it than their female counterparts. According to the report, researchers from OnePoll spoke to 2,000 British men and <keyword id="624" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Women">women</keyword> ahead of the World Book Night and it was found that 75% of the men would watch the big screen version of a story, instead of reading the original book. In fact, 30% of the men said they had not read a book after their school days. 
 But in spite of all the statistics, reading does change one’s life. They say everyone can write at least one classic – their own life story. That gives us great hope that books (in any format) will never become obsolete. Joe Biden hosts biggest-ever Diwali celebration at the White House

<keyword id="2224" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Congress-President-Sonia-Gandhi">Congress president Sonia Gandhi</keyword> has set up three separate committees for discussing policy issues related to economic affairs, foreign affairs and national security, with former prime minister Manmohan Singh part of all the three panels. While former finance minister P Chidambaram, and party leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and <keyword id="6385492" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Digvijaya-Singh">Digvijaya Singh</keyword> will be part of the economic affairs committee, Jairam Ramesh will be its convener. The committee on foreign affairs will have Anand Sharma, <keyword id="42749" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shashi-Tharoor">Shashi Tharoor</keyword>, Salman Khurshid and Saptagiri Ulaka. Khurshid will be the convener of the panel. The committee on national security will have leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad, party leaders Veerappa Moily, Vincent H Pala and V <keyword id="927122" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vaithilingam">Vaithilingam</keyword>, with Pala as its convener. "The Congress president has constituted three committees to consider and discuss issues and policies related to the subjects of economic affairs, foreign affairs and national security," an official statement from AICC general secretary KC Venugopal said. In November 2019, Vodafone CEO hinted to reporters in London about a possible collapse of its Indian operation if the government does not give relief to the massive deferred spectrum dues amounting<a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/business/corporates/news/vodafone-idea-posts-a-historic-50000-crore-loss-over-agr-dues/articleshow/72064458.cms"> to ₹44,150 crore. </a>As soon as the press conference was over, two lawsuits were filed against him, <a href="https://www.scmp.com/week-asia/economics/article/3038987/tax-terrorism-indias-slowing-economy-takes-deadly-turn-modis">reported South China Morning Post</a>. What he didn't know was that soon after the sleuths at CBI would chase him after a surprise raid at a Hindalco office found Rs 5 crore unaccounted cash in its premises. This money got linked to the infamous coal allocation scam. While the firm lost its coal mine <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/naazneenkarmali/2013/10/15/billionaire-kumar-birla-dragged-into-indias-coalgate-scandal/#5d145b0e180a">Talbira II in Odisha</a>, Birla himself has since been acquitted in the case of the cash in one of his offices. Twitter CEO is facing fire from India after a map showed Jammu and Kashmir as part of China

New Delhi, Jan 13 () Corporate leaders on Monday sought initiatives to support job creation besides enhanced spending on infrastructure and policies for agricultural sector as part of their Budget wishlist.
While participating in a debate during a book launch here, TVS Group Chairman Venu Srinivasan sought more focus on job creation in the Budget next month.
Similarly, Chairman and Senior Managing Director of DCM Shriram Ajay S Shriram urged the government to focus on agriculture sector, while Hero Enterprise Chairman Sunil Kant Munjal stressed on enhancing spending on infrastructure.
The three business leaders were part of a discussion at the launch of the book 'The Making of HERO' written by Sunil Kant Munjal. The book was unveiled by former prime minister Manmohan Singh.
"One of the most important issues is job creation...the most fundamental drive has to be growth with jobs," Srinivasan said.
Shriram urged the government to focus on agriculture sector.
"I hope in this budget there should be a focus towards taking care of agriculture sector...which is suffering a lot somehow the policies are not moving in terms of governance in terms of coordinating with the states. I think a GST kind of a body is required to get all agri ministers involved to take joint decisions for implementation...," Shriram said.
Munjal said he would like the government to spend more on the infrastructure sector.
"I would like to see slippage in fisc (fiscal deficit) and that slippage going towards seriously benefitting infrastructure sector," he noted.

Budget: India Inc pitches for job creation, higher infra spending

Jaipur, Dec 3 () Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday said the country is facing economic crisis due to "wrong" policies of the NDA government and states too were getting affected due to them.
 Gehlot said everyone should be concerned for the current situation of the economy because the growth rate has lowered, "there are no jobs" and trade and business are suffering.
 "A situation of economic crisis is there in the country today and not only the Centre, but we all should be concerned for that. People are losing jobs, businesses have been affected. The situation in the country is becoming very serious," he said at a function in the state secretariat here.
 He claimed the states' share of fund and grants were being cut considerably by the Centre.
 The chief minister said the Centre implemented the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in a "wrong" manner.
 "One nation one tax was there in the mind of former prime minister Manmohan Singh. It was a revolutionary step of him that there will be only one tax (slab) of 18 per cent but the government changed, different slabs were introduced, revenue too declined," he said.
 Gehlot said the recent comments of industrialists such as Rahul Bajaj would "wake up" the government.
 Bajaj, the chairman of Bajaj group, had openly told Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Home Minister Amit Shah and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal at a programme in Mumbai on Saturday that people were afraid of criticising the BJP government's policies and that no one in the business community would speak about economic issue.
 "The finance minister's husband too said the government has no understanding of the economy," the chief minister said. SDA CK
