New Delhi [India], August 10 (ANI): Two <keyword id="19945191" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="police-personnel" source="keywords">police personnel</keyword>, allegedly posing as income tax officials, were arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell after they attempted to raid a businessman's house in <keyword id="22604653" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Preet-Vihar" source="keywords">Preet Vihar</keyword> area of the national capital, police said on Friday. The Delhi Police received a complaint on Thursday about the incident, where two police personnel pretending to be <keyword id="22735901" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Income-Tax-officers" source="keywords">income tax officers</keyword> visited the house of a businessman living in Preet Vihar. The alleged <keyword id="21487859" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="impersonators" source="keywords">impersonators</keyword> asked for documents and mobile phones and demanded a hefty bribe from the businessman. The family grew suspicious and confronted the impersonators, which led them to flee from the scene, police said. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the alleged impersonators were police personnel - one a head constable in the Preet Vihar police station and the other a head constable in the traffic police. The investigation of the case by the Delhi Police Special Cell is underway. Two police personnel posing as Income Tax officers held for bid to extort Delhi businessman

The voice feature on PUBG game made two cheats become friends during the Covid induced lockdown. Both joined hands and started duping people through spoofed <keyword id="182854" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="SMS-services">sms services</keyword> to send phishing messages of points redemption. Police said on Tuesday the accused -- Tusar Tyagi and Shubham -- became friends while playing PUBG games during the lockdown period. Initially, Shubham started to provide UC game accessories to Tusar and spoke to him through VOIP calls. After they became friends, Shubham told him that he worked in <keyword id="6354680" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="credit">Credit</keyword> and Debit Cards phishing and had good knowledge to earn easy money in <keyword id="32575" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="cyberspace">Cyberspace</keyword>. He offered Tusar 20 per cent commission on the sale of his sellings. During January 2021 Shubham contacted Tusar and asked him to collect his smart mobile phones from <keyword id="152739" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Croma">Croma</keyword> stores and to sell it in open market. "After keeping his commission of 20 per cent, he had to deposit the remaining amount in Shubham's wallet and bank account. Hence, Tusar started working for Shubham. He has deposited approx. ₹2 lakh in Shubham's wallets and bank account till now," said Atul Thakur, DCP South Delhi. The matter came to light when an Advocate lodged a complaint at the Malviya Nagar police station that he had got an SMS on his mobile to redeem his Kotak Mahendra bank and <keyword id="2179992" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="RBL-Bank">RBL Bank</keyword> credit cards. And, as soon as he clicked on the given web link and entered his card credentials, he lost Rs 1 lakh from his credit cards. Beneficiary accounts and wallets were investigated which revealed that the cheated amount had been credited in a <keyword id="6357120" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="paytm">Paytm</keyword> account at first and then it was used for Croma Gift Voucher Accounts. The Delhi Police then alerted the Croma store at <keyword id="187307" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Preet-Vihar">Preet Vihar</keyword> and on February 28, the staff of Croma store informed the police as soon as 21-year-old Tusar Tyagi came to the store. He was arrested under Section 420/120B. The police team is now working to arrest his partner Shubham. Addressing a press conference, the minister said the government will constitute a committee comprising government officials and students from different coaching hubs to frame the law. "The law will have provisions for infrastructure, qualification of teachers, fee regulation and preventing misleading advertisements. Public feedback will also be sought," she said. Atishi said the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has cracked down on <keyword id="20127556" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="coaching-centres" source="keywords">coaching centres</keyword> using basements in violation of laws. "Basements of 30 coaching centres in Rajinder Nagar, Mukherjee Nagar, Laxmi Nagar and Preet Vihar have been sealed while notices have been issued to 200 other coaching centres," she said. She said the report of the magisterial probe into the Old Rajinder Nagar incident will be submitted in the next six days. "Strict action will be taken if any officers are found guilty in the incident. Illegal building use led to the Old Rajinder Nagar tragedy," she said. The probe will also ascertain which officer ignored a complaint sent to the MCD by an IAS aspirant about the illegal use of the basement at Rau's IAS Study Circle, where the three students died, according to Atishi. The magisterial inquiry will ascertain which officer was incharge of the grievances portal where the complaint was uploaded and how it was ignored," Atishi said. A civil services aspirant from Gwalior had on Monday claimed that he had complained to the MCD about the illegal use of the basement by the institute and sent reminders on July 15 and 22 but no action was taken in the matter.

New Delhi, May 20 () The number of coronavirus cases in Delhi crossed the 11,000 mark on Wednesday with 534 more people testing positive, while the death toll climbed to 176, even as the city government launched its exercise to define "red, orange and green zones" for relaxation in lockdown restrictions. It was the highest single-day rise in cases so far in the national capital. The previous highest spike of 500 was recorded on May 19. A bulletin issued by the Delhi health department said the death toll from coronavirus infection has risen to 176, and the total number of cases has mounted to 11,088. It, however, added the cumulative death figure refers to fatalities where the primary cause of death was found to be COVID-19, as per the report of the Death Audit Committee on the basis of case sheets received from various hospitals. Amid a rise in the coronavirus cases and a gradual fall in the number of containment zones in the national capital, the Health Department has also directed all district magistrates to identify containment zones in their areas as per the existing guidelines. The number of containment zones has reduced to 69, the health bulletin said. Earlier this week, the Centre gave power to the states and union territories to define their own zones based on the coronavirus cases, but said it should be done after taking into consideration parameters shared by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Accordingly, the Delhi health department started work to demarcate 'red, orange and green' zones based on the number of novel coronavirus infections in particular areas, sources said. The move is expected to give momentum to economic activities that resumed to some extent in the national capital from Tuesday after the third phase of lockdown ended. The Delhi government had demanded that based on coronavirus case load, the municipal wards should be categorised and not districts. All 11 districts of the city are currently in 'red' zone according to the Union health ministry's recent classification parameters, which has made life difficult for Delhiites due to greater restrictions on activities as compared to 'orange' and 'green' zones. "The exercise will be done either based on ward level or containment zones," the source said. The city saw significant resumption of economic activities on Wednesday. In further easing of the curbs, Lodhi Garden, Nehru Park and Talkatora Garden in the Lutyens area will reopen for public from Thursday for jogging and running activities after being closed for over two months in view of COVID-19 lockdown, the New Delhi Municipal Council said. While only jogging, walking and running will be permitted in the parks, no open gym or yoga will be allowed. Persons above 65 year and children below 10 years will not be allowed to enter the premises. The parks will be opened between 7 AM to 10 AM in the morning and 3.30 PM to 6.30 PM in the evening for the purpose. On the second day after economic activities resumed in Delhi, there was traffic congestion at several spots like the ITO and on the city borders, especially in the morning and evening hours. The barricades on the roads erected by the police further aggravated the problems in some areas. While announcing the relaxations for the fourth phase of coronavirus-triggered lockdown earlier this week, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said that both government and private offices can operate with full strength. Meanwhile, the government has decided to seek a written explanation from those employees who do not attend office for two consecutive days. On the transport front, the government has directed the drivers of public transport buses not to drive if the number of passengers is above 20 and call the police if the extra persons do not deboard. According to the relaxations announced by the Centre during the extended lockdown, Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and cluster buses cannot carry more than 20 passengers. Transport minister Kailash Gahlot said stringent action will be taken against the conductors, drivers and marshals if more than 20 people are found travelling in the buses. On the other hand, with people keeping indoors and venturing out only for urgent needs, drivers of paratransit vehicles like autorickshaws, e-rickshaws and taxis are struggling to find passengers and make ends meet. The compulsion to follow social distancing norm and sanitise the vehicles to combat coronavirus has only added to their financial woes, the drivers said. "I started at around 8 AM from Preet Vihar. I did not find any passenger for two hours.
