Bobby Deol's first web series "Aashram" to release on August 28

Mumbai, May 9 () Bobby Deol says be it the superstars or the aspiring actors, everyone is struggling right now as the nationwide lockdown has brought the Indian film industry to a grinding halt.The 51-year-old actor, who started his second innings in Bollywood with films like "Race 3" and "Housefull 4", believes the ongoing scenario across India due to coronavirus pandemic is scary. "There are a lot of actors in the industry who want work but not everybody gets that opportunity or the luck. Right now, even the big stars are also sitting at home. "Everybody is sailing in the same boat. For actors there is no way out to go and work till things get fixed. It is scary for everybody," Bobby told in an interview.The actor had finished two digital projects -- a Netflix film "Class of 83", to be produced by Red Chillies, and "Ashram", a web-series with Prakash Jha -- before the lockdown was announced.Bobby said he was hopeful that the projects will release this year. "Everybody's work is on pause right now. I don't know what is going to happen as no one is working. These projects are waiting to come out. I have finished shooting for the web-series. I was hoping they will come out this year. Now let's see what happens because no one expected this to happen in our lives."The actor said the lockdown has taught him to appreciate small things in life and be positive."I hope this (situation) teaches all of us a lesson that we should not take things for granted, respect, smile, make people happy, don't be egoistic and grumpy, have a big heart and be nice. "We have so much to look forward and live for. We should look at the positive side of lockdown and not grumble. I hope we don't forget these things after lockdown."For Bobby, the lockdown is about spending time with his family and staying fit."We all talk about things that we never discussed, which is nice. We are discussing work but we know it is a waiting game. We all have to wait and see how the world moves forward. There is uncertainty and no one knows what the outcome is going to be," he said.The actor believes life will be different, at least for some time, after the lockdown is lifted."Everybody is missing a normal life and I am one of them. New Delhi, June 4 (IANS) During the time of Covid-19 pandemic when most of enterprises have cut down on traditional marketing and publicity spend, the scope of digital marketing has increased manifold as target audiences are home in social distancing times and remaining online for more hours has become the new normal, some leading digital marketers said on Thursday. While lockdown has done serious damage to a lot of businesses, there are some for whom it has become an opportunity and digital marketing agencies are one of them. "With the world being connected via Internet, things were gung-ho in the digital marketing world using the right digital strategies to reach out to people," said Kapil Jain, Founder of Graphitto, a Mumbai-based digital agency. "For the survival of business operations, we are considering each and every step about our future business operations, including burn-rate, debts servicing cost, sales forecasts, supply-chain challenges, team headcount reduction, and optimizing capital spending," Jain added. According to Sudhanshu Kumar, MD of Digital Sukoon digital marketing agency, they are in a relatively better position to withstand the lockdown impact. "We used the time really well and understood the fact that lockdown is going to increase consumption of data in India and we had to put our clients where the audience was. We managed to bridge the gap with all the hard work from our teams while adhering to the norms," said Kumar. Digital Sukoon is handling digital promotion for Prakash Jha Productions, Rohit Shetty Pictures, Pooja Entertainment and Panorama Studios, among others, along with artists and popular influencers. Digital Sukoon is among few firms that has retained entire staff and helped them in need. "These are an unprecedented time for everyone and we at Digital Sukoon would love to help out people as much as we possibly can," said Kumar. India's Internet consumption rose by 13-14 per cent since the nationwide lockdown was put in place. According to Anoop Mishra, Co-founder of Publicity Mantra, a strategic marketing and brand communication agency, usually an average company invests two-three per cent of their total marketing budget on digital platforms but since online time per user has increased, companies can pay more attention to it and this is going to be a good opportunity for digital marketers. "If we talk about Internet users and consumers, we are going to experience more ad floats and digital agencies reaching out to more customers seamlessly," said Mishra who has also launched OnlyforStartups.com to support and guide the early startups in India. --IANS na/

Gautam Talwar, Chief Content Officer, MX Player, said, “Aashram would be one of the top series seen in this country. We have just crossed 300 million streams in less than a month. It has actually surpassed our expectations and broken most of our internal records -- whether it would be the number of streams we have seen or the number of new users that have come onto the platform because of Aashram has been historic for us. Even if you compare it across the industry, it would be one of the top ranking shows in this country.” Aashram has also helped MX Player grow stronger in its existing markets by 130-140%. MX Player was able to achieve these numbers because of its large distribution. It currently has 75 million Daily Active Users and 200 million Monthly Active Users. They also used all their media vehicles to drive more traffic and get new users. It upped its media plan by going 360-degree including Out of Home, radio and TV. On how it all started, Talwar said, “Work on Aashram started about 2 years ago when I had just joined. We knew a world we wanted to tell a story within and started with Habib Faisal writing a brilliant story for us. He had these mind-blowing characters in his mind whether it was Baba Nirala, Sati, Ujagar and Pami -- he gave us the bible and then we took it to the captain of the ship, Prakash Jha himself. He added so many more layers to the writing and gave it the real vision that was needed to create a show of this scale.” During the on-going pandemic of about 28 weeks, between originals and acquired content, MX Player has launched 27 shows -- which is around one show a week. After seeing great response for its originals such as Aashram and Times of Music, MX Player is also planning to double down its production of original content. Sharing the content pipeline for the coming months, Talwar said, “We are going to double down on our originals. We are launching one on October 07. It is called High. It is again a show that we are proud of. It is at par with international shows. There are a couple of shows that we have already shot and are getting post-produced. One of them is Aashram Season 1 Part 2. So, we are sorted till January.” MX Player has used the lockdown period quite smartly. It realised it has a content-hungry audience and tried to launch content for every mood. As they call it, MX Player is ‘Everytainment’ -- a platform that satiates every need gap and polished its scripts. “All of us went through the 6-months of no shooting period so that has put us on a fast track now. As soon as the unlock happens, we hope to put a lot more shows on the floor to shoot them. They do take their time. Each and every show has a lead time of about a year and a half. So that is going to be a challenge. We have used the lockdown time to make sure that the writing is taken care of,” shared Talwar.  In the movie that is due to release on April 30th, Senior Bachchan would be seen playing the role of the father of <keyword id="598" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Deepika-Padukone">Deepika Padukone</keyword>, who plays the title role of Piku. This would be the second time that he plays Deepika's father, after Prakash Jha’s Aarakshan, which released in 2011.
