<keyword id="45673" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Porsche">Porsche</keyword> has launched the latest version of its 911 model in India, and the car would be priced between Rs 1.42 crore and Rs 2.66 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). The German luxury sports car maker is planning to expand its presence in India, for which it plans to add two more showrooms at Chennai and Hyderabad, in addition to the six existing outlets in the country in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Kochi. 
 "Last year, we sold 408 units in India. We occupy a niche space in the luxury sports car market here and are looking for a steady growth in the country," <keyword id="315033" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Porsche-India">Porsche India</keyword> Director, Pawan Shetty said. 
 
He added that with the new 911 model, sports car enthusiasts will get performance and convenience of everyday use. 
 
"This is the 8th generation of the 911 model and is 12% more fuel efficient over the previous generations," Shetty said. 
 
Shetty went on to share his views on the ban on diesel cars and SUVs with engines of 2,000 cc and above, saying that the company will not get impacted since the model runs only on petrol.

Porsche’s latest 911 model launched in India at Rs 2.66 crore

German sports car manufacturer <keyword id="45673" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Porsche">Porsche</keyword> launched the latest version of its 911 model in India on Wednesday. Priced between Rs 1.42 crore and Rs 2.66 crore (ex-showroom Delhi), the sports car is the fastest 911 in the company’s history. 
 Currently Porsche’s India lineup is priced in the range of Rs 1-3 crores with multiple versions of the Cayman, <keyword id="265750" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Cayenne">Cayenne</keyword>, Macan, Boxter, 911 and Panamera 
 
The company is planning to add two more showrooms at Chennai and Hyderabad in the coming months to add to its existing six outlets across Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Kochi. 
 Business Insider caught up with <keyword id="315033" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Porsche-India">Porsche India</keyword> Director Pavan Shetty on the sidelines of the new 911 launch to discuss more about the company’s presence in the country. 
 
Expectations from the new 911. 
The legacy of 911 is well-known. It’s the most important product in our portfolio. It’s our oldest product, and has been existing since 1963. It helps defines our product lineup, and we’re able to leverage its reputation for the entire brand. 
 
The primary reason for the new 911’s launch here is to enhance the brand image here. 
 
This one features major technological improvements over the last one. It’s the fastest 911 ever built. The new 911 Turbo can now do 0-100kmph in just 2.9 secs. The fuel efficiency is up by 12%, and there are a host of new features as well. 
In terms of volume, 911 contributes around 8-10% to our overall volume. We’re looking to go above and beyond that in India. 
 
Investment in upcoming showrooms in Hyderabad and Chennai. 
We’re still at an evaluation stage. We’re trying to figure out a business case based on the expected demand. Basis that we’ll come to an investment figure. 
 
Rub off effect of the diesel ban. We have diesel options for the Cayenne and Panamera. While they are not allowed to be registered in the NCR region as per the last <keyword id="6354977" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Supreme-Court">Supreme Court</keyword> ruling, the good thing for us is that we don't have the reputation of selling diesel cars particularly. 
 
Porsche buyers choose fuel options based on their requirements, but we don’t have a reputation based on the fuel options we offer. 
Having said that, the diesel ban has been discouraging to sales. The question really is not what to buy, but when to buy. We could see some delay in delivery, but as a brand we are deft to adjust to this market environment. We can support the market with petrol or diesel in just 3 months time now. 
 
Macan riding India’s compact SUV craze. 
The Cayenne and Macan contribute over 70% of our India sales. This is in line with the global sales trends. In a country like India where size matters, our SUVs are quite well accepted. We have a new version of the Macan coming up later this year. It will add a new feather to our already strong SUV lineup. 
 
Evolution of the luxury car market in India 
Porsche has been in India since 2012. We see a positive trend and a bright future here. 
 
The super-luxury car market is still nascent in India. The good news is its fast evolving, and that’s because of the Internet and our well-travelled customers. They are quite aligned to the global trends and their expectations are realistic.

 "In the new Panamera, our customers and enthusiasts will experience a fundamentally redesigned car with new turbo engines, sharper exterior design, intuitive interior features and innovative technologies," said <keyword id="315033" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Porsche-India">Porsche India</keyword> Director Pavan Shetty.

Powered by a new 4L twin-turbo V8 engine, the Turbo model has a power of 550 HP at 5,750 rpm, which is 30 HP more than its <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Heres-why-Porsches-all-new-Panamera-is-at-home-in-a-traffic-jam-and-a-circuit/articleshow/52993653.cms">predecessor</a>.

As per the statement, the vehicle can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in mere 3.8 seconds.

Porsche launches Panamera Turbo priced at Rs 1.93 crore

You won’t tend to level them with cars. These are more futuristic and beyond the generic definition of cars. Though these have engines and wheels like regular cars, these are transformers of global automobile sector. 
 <keyword id="51958" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="20" keywordseo="YES">Yes</keyword> we are talking about <keyword id="45673" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Porsche">Porsche</keyword>. The German luxury sports car maker just launched two of its mid-engine models -- the 718 Cayman and 718 Boxster -- in the country, priced at Rs 81.63 lakh and Rs 85.53 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively. 
 
With the new 718 series, Porsche is creating a distinction of the mid-engine models from its high-end 911 model. "In the last portfolio, the Boxster N and the Cayman N were priced very close to the 911. We wanted to create an identity as it exists elsewhere in the world," <keyword id="315033" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Porsche-India">Porsche India</keyword> Director <keyword id="445605" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Pavan-Shetty">Pavan Shetty</keyword> told the press. 
 
While the 911 is priced at Rs 1.47 crore, now the 718 Cayman and 718 Boxster are in the Rs 80-86 lakh bracket. 
This gives the brand identity of each of the models and the grid for the customers to differentiate, he added. 
The 718 series is a continuation of the tradition of small, powerful, turbocharged four-cylinder flat engines in combination with the latest technology innovations. The Cayman will now represent the entry model of Porsche, the company said. 
 
Powered by 2-litre engines, both the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman shift from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and have a top speed of 275 km/h. Both have six-speed manual transmission as standard.

However, the new SLC’s V6 has a lot to boast of - better fuel economy, better drivability and a way stronger mid-range. You’re not going to drive it above 100kmph all the time, will you? 
 
Up front, the SLC gets a steeply raked radiator grille. There's an unmistakable resemblance to the A-Class. The sweptback headlamps feature a dual-beam setup and the LED DRLs give the SLC a sporty and aggressive look. You can’t not notice the new bumper which houses the chrome-tipped dual exhausts.

Porsche Panamera gets its diesel edition, priced at Rs 1.04 crore

Leading <keyword id="6356028" type="COMPANY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Sports">sports</keyword> car manufacturer <keyword id="45673" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Porsche">Porsche</keyword>, a part of the <keyword id="166267" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Volkswagen-Group">Volkswagen group</keyword>, has launched its much-awaited compact SUV <keyword id="2100791" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Macan">Macan</keyword> in India. The car has been launched in two different variants. Macan S Diesel is available at a price of Rs 1 crore and Macan Turbo petrol will retail at Rs 1.11 crore, both ex-showroom Delhi. 
	 

	Macan has turned out to be a very popular SUV. The car is fully sold out globally and in India, the compact SUV has been fully booked for 2014.
 Despite being a compact SUV, like any of its <keyword id="660753" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="40" keywordseo="Sports-cars">sports cars</keyword>, the Macan Turbo can hit from 0 to 100 in about 4.8 seconds and the <keyword id="2436163" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Macan-S-Diesel">Macan S Diesel</keyword> in 6.1 seconds. Porsche has offered air suspension system with ride height adjustment, fully variable all-wheel drive, lighting package, bi-xenon headlamps, three-zone climate control and electronically operated tailgate as standard features. <keyword id="349012" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Anil-Reddi">Anil Reddi</keyword>, director, Porsche India said, the Macan compact SUV, will help the German automobile manufacturer reach out to new customer segments in India. It will lure buyers of other luxury car brands into the Porsche fold. 

	"With the launch of the Macan, we intend to expand this further, but we don't want lose out on the exclusivity that Porsche guarantees. We are not in the pursuit of volumes and as a policy, we will always sell one car less than what the market demands," he asserted.
 In India, Porsche has been present for over a decade - first as an importer and later through the <keyword id="1968081" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="40" keywordseo="National-Sales-Company">National Sales Company</keyword>. About 1,500 to 2,000 Porsche are running on the Indian roads. Interestingly, <keyword id="624" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="40" keywordseo="Women">women</keyword> are emerging as a new customer segment for Macan. 

	Porsche is also revamping its dealer network in the country which will be spread across at 8 different cities by the end of 2014. Porsche has showroom spread across Mumbai, Gurgaon, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and the one in Kolkata, will be shortly inaugurated.
