Sinha who is trailing with 35% of the votes has been a Parliamentarian from the same constituency for 10 years now. However, he went on to join the Congress in April 2019, while his wife, <keyword id="28668" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Poonam-Sinha">Poonam Sinha</keyword>, joined the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh. Poonam Sinha is pitted against another central minister, Rajnath Singh, in Lucknow and she is trailing too.

But that hasn't stopped the actors-turned-politicians from campaigning for each other. Shatrughan Sinha, the Parliamentarian from Patna Sahib constituency in Bihar for the last ten years, left the BJP after the party decided to dump and nominate union minister for law and information technology, Ravi Shankar Prasad, from the seat. So he broke up from the party, which he was part of for 27 years, and joined the Congress at the behest of the Rashtriya Janata Dal, founded by Laloo Prasad Yadav, which is in alliance with Congress in another state, Bihar. Lucknow went for polls with other high profile constituencies including Amethi, and Rae Bareli Home Minister Rajnath Singh appears to have a reach across all the communities in the capital city. The BJP is expected to benefit from the legacy of former Prime Minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee who represented the seat. Poonam Sinha is the wife of actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha and her campaign got a boost with the participation of her daughter and Bollywood star Sonakshi Sinha.

The first time he became a member of the state legislative assembly was in 1977. He served as BJP's party president from 2005 to 2009 and from 2013 to 2014. He was also the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, India's most populous and politically significant state, in 2000. Singh was inducted into the Union Cabinet as in charge of the Ministry of Home Affairs after BJP's landslide victory in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Political parties all over the country enrolled female star power to increase their visibility in the <keyword id="4577611" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="lok-sabha-election-2019">Lok Sabha Election 2019</keyword>. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headlined four veteran actresses to cheer its cause across the country — Hema Malini, Kirron Kher, Jaya Prada and Smriti Irani, who served as the Textiles Minister during Modi’s 2014 tenure. Congress, on the other hand, brought only one female actress to contest the elections — Urmila Matondkar in Mumbai North. The Election Commission’s counting shows that BJP’s Gopal Shetty, isn’t just leading, but dominating over Matondkar garnering 72.2% of the vote share. Even Poonam Sinha, Samajwadi Party (SP)’s Bollywood candidate, is trailing far behind her contender, BJP’s Rajnath Singh in Lucknow. BJP contestants largely beat exit poll predictions Contesting the Lok Sabha Election from Amethi, a Congress stronghold, Irani seems to be leading over the incumbent Rahul Gandhi by a margin of 10,000 votes according to data from the Election Commission in contrast to the exit poll that predicted a Gandhi victory. During the 2014 election, Gandhi did manage to beat out Irani but she dented his vote share by at least 12%. BJP’s ‘dream girl’ candidate, Hema Malini, flipped from trailing during the initial vote count to commanding a strong lead of 62.2%. Her primary contender, Kunwar Narendra Singh from the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) was left in the dust with 33.3% vote share. Jaya Prada, on the other hand, looks unlikely to bring a victory home for the BJP as she trails behind Samajwadi Party (SP)’s Azam Khan in Rampur with a difference larger than 100,000 votes between them.

 <keyword id="2603637" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maharashtra-chief-minister-Devendra-Fadnavis">Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis</keyword> took the charge of creating the much talked about district in Mumbai and a master plan to develop the area is underway. 
 Discussions have been already held with <keyword id="6391015" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Finance-Minister-Arun-Jaitley">finance minister Arun Jaitley</keyword> and the Reserve Bank of India. 
 
The master plan, which is being prepared by a committee headed by Jayant Sinha, is being developed on the lines of financial centre in Gujarat with some necessary changes. 
 
"Singapore, Hong Kong and Dubai have prospered because many Indians prefer to set up their companies there instead of setting up here because of taxation issues. What we are going to do is simply remove those tax hindrances,” said Poonam Mahajan, deputy chairperson of the committee. 
 
The proposed international district will come up on 60 acres of land.

Mumbai has a great plan to attract global businesses and it is going to be huge

Members of the consultative committee attached to the <keyword id="101434" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Union-Finance-Ministry">Union Finance Ministry</keyword> have put forward a suggestion that would cheer millions of middle-class Indians. 
 

	They want <keyword id="42575" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Arun-Jaitley">Arun Jaitley</keyword> to raise the <keyword id="6354751" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Income-Tax">income tax</keyword> exemption limit for individuals to Rs 4 lakh per annum from the current Rs 2.5 lakh.<o:p></o:p>

	According to an official release, the suggestion came during the first meeting of the committee on Friday in New Delhi.<o:p></o:p>

	Additionally, they also suggested the finance minister to raise the limit for mandatorily quoting permanent card number (PAN) for transactions to Rs 5 lakh from Rs 2 lakh. <o:p></o:p>

	Presently, there are about <a href="http://articles.economictimes.indiatimes.com/2015-05-12/news/62082668_1_tax-base-tax-evaders-tax-assessees" target="_blank">2.5 crore individual tax payers</a> in India.<o:p></o:p>

	 

	In his address, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley spoke about fiscal deficit being kept under control, despite a rise in government spending and the need for higher allocation in FY2017 owing to the implementation of the proposals of the 7th Central Pay Commission and One Rank One Pension scheme for ex-servicemen.<o:p></o:p>

	The members of the committee also asked Jaitley to consider raising the service tax exemption limit to Rs 25 lakh from the current Rs 10 lakh.<o:p></o:p>

	Those who participated in the meeting included Arun Jaitley, Finance Minister; Jayant Sinha, Minister of State for Finance; members of the committee comprising Dilip Kumar Mansukhlal Gandhi, J. Jayasingh Thyagraj Natterjee, P.P. Chaudhary, Poonam Mahajan, Shri Ram Charitra Nishad, Sharad Kumar Maruti Bansode, Subhash Chandra, Supriya Sadanand Sule, Udit Raj (<keyword id="6355187" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Lok-Sabha">Lok Sabha</keyword> members), Anil Desai, K.P. Ramalingam and Rajkumar Doot (Rajya Sabha members).
