Both companies had been involved in long-drawn legal disputes across multiple courts, over the past five years. "The settlement will put an end to all open judicial proceedings," the joint statement dated May 26 read. As a next step, they have already taken steps to withdraw all oppositions against each other in the trademark registry which will help them to proceed with the registration of their respective marks. Further, both organizations will undertake other necessary steps to comply with the obligations under the settlement agreement in respect of all cases before the <keyword id="19895875" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Delhi-High-Court" source="keywords">Delhi High Court</keyword> and <keyword id="19905533" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bombay-High-Court" source="keywords">Bombay High Court</keyword>, the statement said. <keyword id="19956324" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rajnish-kumar" source="keywords">Rajnish Kumar</keyword>, Chairman of the Board, of BharatPe, said, "This is a positive development for the industry. I appreciate the maturity and professionalism shown by the Management of both sides, working closely to resolve all outstanding legal issues and moving ahead to focus their energy and resources in building robust digital payment ecosystems.'' BharatPe and PhonePe amicably settle all trademark disputes over 'Pe' suffix

Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) [India], June 29 (ANI): Fintech services company <keyword id="6357886" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="PhonePe" source="Orion">PhonePe</keyword> has responded to what it said to be "unauthorized usage" of its logo by Madhya Pradesh <keyword id="1575" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="congress" source="Orion">Congress</keyword> and noted that it may take legal actions against them. Posters featuring Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, which purportedly say, pay 50 per cent (commission) and get your work done, have been put up at various locations in Gwalior town. Such posters were also seen in Chindwara, Rewa, Satna, and the state's capital city Bhopal, and were later removed by the administration. The posters are in the form of QR code sheets used by fintech companies for accepting online payments. '<keyword id="6357886" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="PhonePe" source="Orion">PhonePe</keyword>' could be clearly seen written on top of those posters. "PhonePe objects to the unauthorized usage of its brand logo, by any third party, be it political or non-political. We are not associated with any political campaign or party," PhonePe posted on its Twitter handle. "The <keyword id="17850883" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="PhonePe-logo" source="Orion">PhonePe logo</keyword> is a registered trademark of our company and any unauthorized use of PhonePe's intellectual property rights will invite legal action. We humbly request Madhya Pradesh <keyword id="1575" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="congress" source="Orion">Congress</keyword> to remove the posters and banners featuring our brand logo and colour," it said, tagging the Twitter handle of the party's state unit. In the meantime, an FIR has been lodged at Padav Police Station against unknown people who pasted the posters and the police are looking for them. A BJP worker has given a complaint that his party is being defamed and based on that a case has been registered against an unknown person and an investigation is underway, said Rajesh Singh Chandel, SP Gwalior. New Delhi, Retail giant <keyword id="80487" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="walmart" source="Orion">Walmart</keyword> has reportedly paid $1.4 billion to acquire VC form <keyword id="526777" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="tiger-global" source="Orion">Tiger Global</keyword>'s remaining shares in the e-commerce major. According to a report in Wall Street Journal, <keyword id="80487" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="walmart" source="Orion">Walmart</keyword> has paid the money to boost <keyword id="6354742" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="flipkart" source="Orion">Flipkart</keyword>'s stake. "Purchase of shares from <keyword id="526777" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="tiger-global" source="Orion">Tiger Global</keyword> values the Indian e-commerce company at about $35 billion," the report said late on Sunday. Walmart purchased Tiger Global's remaining holding in <keyword id="6354742" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="flipkart" source="Orion">Flipkart</keyword> to further cement its control of the Indian e-commerce giant. Tiger Global made an overall gain of $3.5 billion on an investment of $1.2 billion, reports mentioned. Flipkart was earlier valued at $37.6 billion in a 2021 funding round. Walmart had 72 per cent share in Flipkart as reported last. Tiger Global held a 4 per cent stake in the e-commerce leader. Last month, Flipkart began a "one-time discretionary" cash payment of $700 million to employees following its separation from fintech firm PhonePe.
