Google, Amazon, IBM and many more are hiring business analysts across the country

Homegrown <keyword id="6357120" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="paytm" source="Orion">Paytm</keyword> Payments Bank Limited (PPBL) on Wednesday said it has gone live with <keyword id="13424650" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="upi-lite" source="Orion">UPI LITE</keyword>, a feature enabled by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) for multiple small-value <keyword id="4052276" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="upi-transactions" source="Orion">UPI transactions</keyword>. It will enable faster real-time transactions with a single click through Paytm. With UPI LITE, the Bank aims to drive the adoption of digital payments across the country. Once loaded, a UPI LITE wallet allows a user to do instant transactions of up to ₹200 in a seamless way. A maximum of ₹2,000 can be added twice in a day to UPI LITE, making the cumulative daily usage up to ₹4,000. Additionally, with UPI LITE, users can carry out a large number of small value UPI payments without worrying about a cap on the number of bank transactions, said the company. "As per official data from NPCI, half of the everyday UPI transactions in the country are less than ₹200 and with UPI LITE, users get superior experience with faster and safer real-time small value payments. We are focussed on driving digital inclusion and the launch of UPI LITE is a big step ahead in that direction," said Surinder Chawla, MD and CEO, Paytm Payments Bank. UPI LITE was launched by the Reserve Bank of India in September 2022. It also de-clutters the bank passbook of small value transactions, as these payments would now only show in the Paytm balance and history section, and not in the bank passbook. "This will further improve the success rate of transactions, enhancing the user experience, and taking us one more step closer to processing a billion transactions a day on the UPI platform," said Praveena Rai, COO, NPCI. Paytm Payments Bank recently announced that users can receive and send money instantly to any mobile number with a registered UPI ID across platforms using the Paytm app. PPBL remained the largest UPI beneficiary bank for 19 months in a row with over 1,726.94 million transactions in December 2022, ahead of all major banks in the country. With 386.5 million registered transactions, the Bank is one of the top 10 remitter banks for UPI transactions, according to NPCI's latest report. Paytm Payments Bank goes live with UPI LITE to boost small-value UPI transactions

The new facility will aim to drive product innovation, specifically in the areas of equity, mutual funds, and digital gold, the company said in a statement. The company is looking to hire 250 engineers across the front-end, backend as well as data scientists. Paytm Money is headquartered in Bengaluru and already has a team of over 300 employees. “We continue our vision to leverage technology to lower costs for our consumers and provide a solid, innovative and stable platform. We need solid engineering talent to ensure we meet our ambitions,” said Varun Sridhar, chief executive officer of Paytm Money. The slew of new features launched by Paytm Money is aimed at gaining market share in the online wealth management industry. The company already has over seven million users, and by the end of FY21 it hopes to have achieved 10 million users and 75 million yearly transactions. Paytm Mall set to hire 300 people as it cuts down quarterly losses – shifts operations to Bengaluru

<ul></ul><ul><li><keyword id="5325646" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ashok-Kumar-Saxena">Ashok Kumar Saxena</keyword>, who served as a director in <keyword id="2205155" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="One-97-Communication">One 97 Communication</keyword> between 2000-2004, alleged that he had invested in the company for a 55% shareholding. </li><li><keyword id="6357120" type="DEFINITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="paytm">Paytm</keyword> in its submission to police confirmed that such a ‘letter of intent’ was signed, but it never materialised into a ‘definitive agreement’ as Saxena ‘lost interest’. </li><li>The digital payments giant has also reportedly claimed that allegations against Paytm are attempts to harass the company. </li></ul>Ashok Kumar Saxena, a former director in Paytm’s parent company One 97 Communications, is now urging India’s market regulator to stall the digital payments giant’s $2.2 billion initial public offering (<keyword id="6354763" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="ipo">IPO</keyword>). Saxena alleges that he is the co-founder of One 97 Communications and had invested about $27,500 in the company about two decades ago. However, the company never transferred his 55% shareholdings to him, as per Saxena. At the centre of the argument is a one-page document signed by Saxena and Paytm founder and chief executive Vijay Shekhar Sharma in 2001. The document reportedly highlights that Saxena would get a 55% equity stake in Paytm's parent company One 97 Communications. The remaining 45% equity shares would be owned by Sharma. As per a media report, the former director of the company had reached out to market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). According to a media report, Saxena had also reached out to Delhi police to file a complaint against the company, but no case was registered. However, Saxena has now reportedly approached a New Delhi court, urging the judge to direct the local police to register a case on his complaint. The court had ordered the police to respond and the matter will be heard on August 23, as per the media report. Business Insider was not able to reach out to Saxena immediately. Paytm, in a legal document submitted to the Delhi Police, claimed Saxena's allegations against Paytm are attempts to harass the company, as per the Reuters report. The company has listed the dispute under 'criminal proceedings' in its draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) for its IPO. Paytm in the documentation submitted to the Delhi Police, has reportedly agreed that Saxena was one of the first few directors in the company who served between 2000 and 2004. However, a company source has denied that Saxena was the co-founder of One 97 Communications. The document was accessed by Reuters. Business Insider has reached out to Paytm seeking comments. We will be updating the copy if and when we receive a response. The digital payments giant states that Saxena did extend funds to the company, however, he gradually “lost interest”. The company also emphasised that the letter being referred above was merely a “letter of Intent” and not a formal agreement. Paytm has also mentioned this in its legal statement to the police. Saxena had started disassociating himself from the company after the document was signed and stopped attending board meetings, Paytm said in the legal statement. Therefore, the intent never reached a full agreement. Paytm in the legal document also stated that Paytm and Saxena had reached a private understanding and transferred the shares to an Indian firm. Saxena said he had never received any shares and there was no misunderstanding. "The shares and money are one thing, but I also want to be recognised as the co-founder," Saxena told Reuters. Ex-Paytm employees join crypto-focused Transak as it doubles down on its India expansion plans

"At the time of this tweet, @Binance had 5900 people. Today we have 7400+ people. Targeting 8000 or so by end of year. Binance looks to hire 8K people by 2023 end: CEO

New Delhi, Apr 17 () Digital payments major Paytm on Friday said it will offer employee stock ownership plan (ESOPs) worth Rs 250 crore this year. The exercise, which will be completed over the next 3-4 months, will include high performing employees as well as new hires, Paytm said in a statement. The company, however, did not disclose the number of employees it would cover, as the appraisal process is still on. Paytm had started its company-wide process of annual performance reviews in January this year. "This will widen the base of employees having company shares and will enable more people to become a stakeholder in the firm's growth story," the statement said. In October last year, the company had given existing and former employees the option of liquidating their vested ESOPs to earn about Rs 300 crore during a secondary share sale. "Paytm has a high-performance culture and follows a transparent process to evaluate and reward employees. We always ensure to provide ample growth opportunities and engage for feedbacks from time to time," Paytm CHRO Rohit Thakur said. Besides, Paytm also plans to hire over 500 people for multiple roles, apart from continued hiring for roles in product and technology teams, the statement said. The company has also decided to offer an extension of two months to employees who haven't performed well and would have been otherwise asked to leave. "As a part of the appraisal process, some employees were assessed to be at the lower end of the bell curve range. As a part of the year-end process, the company typically asks them to look for opportunities outside the organisation. "However, after analyzing the current scenario, Paytm has offered those employees to continue to be on the rolls of the company for another two months and receive all payments for this extended period," it said. The nationwide lockdown, which has now been extended to May 3, has disrupted businesses, especially start-ups. Many start-ups are facing financial stress given the paucity of business, and some of them are resorting to measures like salary cuts and even layoffs to tide over the ongoing crisis. Recently, self-drive mobility platform Zoomcar had said it has decided to defer salaries of senior leaders and CEO Greg Moran as part of its efforts to tide over the "difficult time" on account of the coronavirus crisis.
