But in real life, the actor said his famous dad Arnold was nothing but supportive of his new role — even though Patrick didn't go to him for any acting advice.</p><p>"A lot of sons go to their father for advice with anything. I definitely go to him like that, but I didn't go to him for this specific character," the "Daniel Isn't Real" actor said. </p><p>According to the 28-year-old, however, Arnold is a massive fan of both the true-crime documentary that inspired the new drama, and Antonio Campos' gripping new adaptation for HBO Max.</p><p>"He had watched the miniseries, and he was obsessed with it as well once he found out that I got cast in this," Patrick, who's the eldest son of Arnold and journalist Maria Shriver, revealed. </p><p>The actor told Insider that he'd watched the documentary series "twice" prior to being cast in the new adaptation, which made him "really excited" to <a href="https://www.insider.com/staircase-hbo-cast-characters-photos-colin-firth-toni-collette-2022-5">play Todd Peterson</a>, the son of novelist Michael Peterson (Firth), who <a href="https://www.insider.com/what-is-the-staircase-about-hbo-true-crime-colin-firth-2022-5">was accused of killing his wife Kathleen in 2001</a>.</p><div type="image" title="Patrick Schwarzenegger and Dane DeHaan on HBO Max's &quot;The Staircase.&quot;" height="1280" width="1706" msid="91519856" hostid="261"></div><p>Patrick also praised Campos for helping the actors prepare for the show. </p><p>"Antonio Campos was with the story for like, 10 years. <ul class="summary-list"><li>Patrick Schwarzenegger got up at 5 AM to workout for 50 days and said it helped transform his body.</li><li>The actor gained 22 pounds and cut his body fat percentage from 13% to 8%, he said.</li><li>Morning workouts can work for busy people, but they aren't necessary, personal trainer Sarah Molloy said.</li></ul><p>Patrick Schwarzenegger says he got up at 5 AM to workout for the 50 days, and it's helped him build <keyword id="51247" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Muscle">muscle</keyword> and lose fat.</p><p>The actor, model, and entrepreneur <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/COgDfb4nycN/?">wrote on Instagram</a> that he's gained 22 pounds and cut his body fat percentage from 13% to 8%.</p><p>"Getting in the best shape of my life. Both physically &amp; mentally," Schwarzenegger said.</p><h2>Early morning workouts can be helpful for busy people</h2><p>Schwarzenegger wrote on Instagram that he exercised at 5 AM for 50 days to build momentum for the day, to motivate his mind and body by doing something hard, and to form a habit that led to progress over time.</p><p>Personal trainer and coach at CrossFit Putney in London, Sarah Molloy, told Insider that early workouts can work well for busy people.</p><p>"It's amazing how quickly it becomes a routine, especially if you are meeting the same group of friends at the class," she said. "You look forward to that hour with them so getting up early is not a chore and that helps to make it sustainable."</p><p>Molloy said many people have more energy in the morning so their gym performance is better than in the afternoon.</p><p>Elliott Upton, personal trainer at Ultimate Performance and Head of LiveUP Online Coaching, told Insider that exercising in the morning can be beneficial because it pumps blood around the body and brain, releases endorphins, reduces stress, and makes you more productive.</p><p>"It creates a positive feedback loop which will improve all aspects of your <keyword id="6354750" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="health">health</keyword>, recovery, training, and <keyword id="52652" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="nutrition">nutrition</keyword>," Upton said.</p><p>While there isn't much large-scale research that analyzes how time of day impacts exercise, <a href="https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22617393/">a small 2012 study</a> conducted by Brigham Young Unviversity suggests morning workouts lead to moving more over the course of the day, and <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4270305/">this small 2014 study</a> conducted by Appalachian State University researchers found early workouts led to better sleep.</p><h2>Early morning workouts aren't necessary and aren't right for everyone</h2><p>Whether you want to transform your body or just live a healthier lifestyle, working out at 5 AM is "not necessary," Upton said, adding that training frequency and consistency is more important than timing.</p><p>"Working out when you are able to perform your best and get the maximum output from your training is always going to be the most important factor," he said.</p><p>Every person is different, and it's better to workout when you feel your best, than to try to force your body to exercise based on someone else's routine. </p><p>"Some people are morning people and some are night owls, all dictated by your body clock," Molloy said.</p><p>"It's all individual and, as long as you're finding the time and it's a time when you're feeling at your optimum, and able to enjoy it, then do what is best for you," Molloy said.</p><p>She suggests training at different times of day for a few weeks to track your energy levels, to see how you feel afterwards, and to gauge whether you enjoyed your workout or if it was too much of a struggle.</p><p>Consider how your training timing fits into your eating habits, too. Molloy said it's best to be well fueled for a weight-lifting session, but a morning walk or swim might be OK on an empty stomach.</p><h2>Body recomposition comes down to more than just working out</h2><p>Gaining muscle while losing fat is known as "body recomposition" and is notoriously challenging, especially if you're experienced when it comes to working out, <a href="https://www.insider.com/how-to-lose-fat-build-muscle-simultaneously-weight-loss-tips-2020-6">experts previously told Insider</a>.</p><p>Strength-training is only one part of the puzzle, and dialing in on your nutrition is key - you need to be eating the right amount, including plenty of protein, Upton said.</p><p>In a recent <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGlp8Fjtobg">video for Men's Health</a>, Schwarzenegger said his diet generally consists of:</p><ul><li>5 AM - protein bar</li><li>7.30 AM - big smoothie</li><li>10.30 AM - eggs with vegetables and sausage</li><li>Lunch - pre-packaged meal such as four pieces of salmon</li><li>4 PM - peanut butter and jelly smoothie</li><li>5.30 PM - beef jerky</li><li>7 PM - meat, vegetables, and some sort of carb</li><li>Before bed - ice cream.</li></ul><p>He added that he used to workout while fasting, but now always eats before training to help with performance and muscle-building.</p><p>"Once you figure out your training timings then 'eat to perform,'" Molloy said.</p><p>"If you're training early in the morning, then eat a good meal with carbs the night before, so if you only have time for a small snack like a banana pre-workout, you've still got fuel in the tank."</p><p>If you're training later in the day, she recommends leaving enough time for your lunch or dinner to digest before working out.</p><p>"And if you know you'll be constantly on the go after training, then always pack protein-rich snacks or shakes to have after," Molloy said.</p>

"At the age of 11 I endured days and nights in shelters while my homeland and my hometown were bombed. 'The Staircase' cast 'freaked out' when they first heard Colin Firth's voice for his character, according to Parker Posey

A photo of Sinclair's character, 17-year-old Marie M. could be seen briefly as Hughie scrolled. </p><p>Another, less obvious, nod to the upcoming spin-off was included in episode five. During a conversation with A-Train (Jessie T. Usher), the supe named Blue Hawk (Nick Wechsler) said they both trained with Coach Brink and were taught to "dominate totally."</p><p>Kripke confirmed to <a href="https://variety.com/2022/tv/features/the-boys-spinoff-release-date-season-4-mcu-1235306102/">Variety</a> that that was a nod to the spin-off.</p><p>"Both of those guys graduated from Good Oak, which is the name of the school, and Brink is a reference to the big superhero trainer at that school who is a character in the spinoff," he said. </p><h2>There will be crossover between 'The Boys' and the spin-off</h2><div type="image" title="From left: Jack Quaid, Karl Urban, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, and Laz Alonso for season three of &quot;The Boys.&quot;" height="1592" width="2123" msid="92837941" hostid="261"></div><p>Prior to the unveiling of the show's official name, the spin-off title was referred to as "Varsity."</p><p>"There's definitely crossover, and we're doing our best to design a universe that sees some of the issues and storylines in season three [of 'The Boys'] hand off to the first season in 'Varsity,'" Kripke told <a href="https://deadline.com/2022/07/the-boys-spoilers-season-3-donald-trump-alexandria-ocasio-cortez-eric-kripke-interiew-black-noir-1235060686/">Deadline</a>.</p><p>He continued: "There's a presidential campaign happening in the background of that season, and there are certain things that are happening at that school that are both in reaction to season three of 'The Boys.' There's Soldier Boy, et cetera, but also some new storylines that are happening in that season of the spin-off that we have to pick up and take into season four of the show."</p><p>Kripke also told <a href="https://www.rollingstone.com/tv/tv-features/boys-penis-homelander-trump-billy-joel-season-3-1369258/">Rolling Stone</a> that familiar faces from 'The Boys" will pop up in the spin-off. </p><p>"Without spoiling anything, I think there will be several very, very cool cameos," he teased, "because it's a Vought-run college, so crossover with Vought characters is inevitable, really."</p><h2>The title, 'Gen V,' was announced in July 2022</h2><div type="image" title="Lizze Broadway as Emma in the first trailer for &quot;Gen V.&quot;" height="788" width="1054" msid="96011713" hostid="261" sizebytes="37068"></div><p>The official Twitter account for "The Boys" posted a <a href="https://twitter.com/TheBoysTV/status/1547959303872491520">video</a> and <a href="https://twitter.com/TheBoysTV/status/1547991771187068932">photos</a> introducing followers to the cast of the spin-off.</p><p>"It's got everything 'The Boys' has: the intensity, the grit, the humor," Germann said<em>.</em></p><p>"It's fucked up. You're gonna like it," Perdomo added.</p><h2>'Gen V' will debut sometime in 2023</h2><p>In July 2022, Kripke told <a href="https://variety.com/2022/tv/features/the-boys-spinoff-release-date-season-4-mcu-1235306102/">Variety</a> that the spin-off was "almost halfway through shooting." The rollout plan for the show is for episodes to be released when "The Boys" isn't currently airing. </p><p>"I think the overall goal is to start leapfrogging them, where, a series of months after 'The Boys' wraps, season one of the spin-off will drop," Kripke told the publication. "And then a series of months after that, season four of 'The Boys' will drop."</p><p>The <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDyDg04x1W0">first trailer</a> for "Gen V" dropped in December 2022 at Comic-Con Experience (CCXP) in São Paulo, Brazil, confirming the show's release in 2023 and teasing guest appearances from cast members of "The Boys."</p><p>The official synopsis reads: "Welcome to Godolkin University, a safe space for you to thrive. This is your first look at 'Gen V,' 'The Boys' college spin-off series arriving on Prime Video in 2023. Starring Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, Marco Pigossi, Clancy Brown, Alexander Calvert, and Jason Ritter. What we can expect from 'The Boys' spin-off series, 'Gen V'

<ul class="summary-list"><li>Klondike announced that it has discontinued the Choco Taco. </li><li>As someone who once loved this ice-cream-truck staple, I'm sad to see it go.</li></ul><p>I must have been between the ages of 7 and 10 the last time I had a Choco Taco. I'd be playing youth soccer at the town park when the ice-cream truck rolled up and we all ran to get a treat. Every time, without fail, I'd get this bizarre innovation. </p><p>It's one of those core memories I think about often. Every time I've walked past a Choco Taco at a store here in New York, I thought about it. I remember loving every bite of that thing — it was messy, embarrassing, and awesome all at the same time. </p><p>On Monday, Twitter started to buzz with the news that Klondike has discontinued the Choco Taco, and soon enough it was all over my social media feeds. I was sitting on my bed when I heard the news, and a piece of my heart sank a little. "There it goes," I thought. "Another childhood indulgence has gone to the snack graveyard."</p><p>I was glad to see that I wasn't alone in my grief, though. Fans of the discontinued treat, including some celebrities, collectively started to mourn on Twitter. </p><p>Reddit co-founder <a href="https://twitter.com/alexmorgan13/status/1551654116111237120">Alexis Ohanian tweeted on Monday</a> that he wants to purchase the rights to the product and reproduce it himself. </p><p>And I've never felt closer to FIFA World Cup champion Alex Morgan than when I saw her reply tweet saying, "This was my go-to post soccer practice treat growing up!!!"</p><p>Ohanian then said, "YOOOOOOOO <a href="https://twitter.com/NWSL">@NWSL</a> partnership in the making. Let's make this happen, Unilever! You just got the Champ's endorsement."</p><p>Patrick Schwarzenegger joined in on the conversation, telling Ohanian that he'd chip in for the investment, too. </p><p>The Instagram hashtag <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CgfC-agpkNz/">#chocotaco</a> has over 84,000 posts, with many of the most recent ones being tributes to the ice cream with "R.I.P." written across them or illustrations of a tombstone. </p><p>There's no question that this ice-cream truck mainstay was a drippy mess, but it was also perfect in a way. It allowed customers to get a bite of the cone, ice cream, and topping all in one throughout the entire eating experience. That's innovation at its finest, if you ask me.</p><p>The discontinuation feels like it's signaling an end to the era of the ice-cream truck I knew and loved. The truck in my childhood neighborhood hasn't come around in close to two decades, and most of the trucks I see in New York City offer self-branded soft-serve and that's it. If Klondike was willing to nix the Choco Taco, what else are these companies willing to get rid of? What about Popsicle's Snow Cone or Good Humor's Strawberry Shortcake?</p><p>A representative for Klondike told Insider in an email that the decision to discontinue this beloved item was a difficult one, but it had to be done in order for the company to fulfill an increasing demand for its other products. </p><p>"We know this may be very disappointing, but we hope you'll try one of our other great products," the statement reads.</p><p>As mentioned, I haven't had a Choco Taco in around 20 years. But right now, it's all I can think about. Nothing gets people craving something like telling us it's going to be gone forever. So savor those last few bites, ice-cream taco lovers, because once your trucks and local vendors run out of their current supply, that's it. </p>

George Wallace ran on the party's ticket for president in 1968. The party's chairman said it's "not segregationist" anymore. Instead, he told The Times that it's a "conservative, constitutionalist party."</p><p>Democrats will allow independent voters - those who are registered as having "no party preference" - to cast ballots in the June primary. Republicans will hold a closed primary, meaning only GOP registered voters can participate. AIP registered voters can only cast ballots for candidates on the party's ballot. The deadline to change registration is May 23, per The Times. </p><div class="container"><p>Hollywood stars Emma Stone and Demi Moore, as well as Patrick Schwarzenegger, the son of movie star and former Republican California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, were mistakenly registered with the party.</p><p>The party accounts for about 3% of the 17.2 million registered California voters.</p><p>Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton leads Bernie Sanders, a Vermont senator, by 10 points in California, according to the <a href="http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/ca/california_democratic_presidential_primary-5321.html">RealClearPolitics average</a> of several recent polls. More than 450 delegates are at stake for Democrats, the largest total for any of the 50 states.
