 Years later, he is back to the small screen in an advertisement for Lay’s, with <keyword id="6357861" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="ranbir-kapoor">Ranbir Kapoor</keyword>. 
 
In the ad, he plays a strict professor, who gets fooled by Ranbir Kapoor using Lay’s chips, so that he can bunk the lecture and watch the match. 
 
Well, all we can say that it’s a welcome change to see an actor of his stature making a comeback in the advertising space. After all, it’s cricket that we are talking about, no less than a religion in the subcontinent. 
 
The ad has been created by JWT and has been directed by Ravi Udyawar, with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya and music by Dhruv Ghanekar.

Pankaj Kapur Joins The Lay’s Bandwagon For World Cup

Since the past few days, rumours are rife that <keyword id="3778" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Karan-Johar">Karan Johar</keyword> will launch two more star kids in the upcoming sequel to his 2012 hit Student of the Year, which marked the debut of two star kids, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan, along with a relatively unknown <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/We-tell-you-what-Katrina-Kaif-is-doing-with-Sidharth-Malhotra/articleshow/51210361.cms">Sidharth Malhotra</a>.

Then, who is this lucky guy who is getting the best launch pad the entire industry can offer? 
 Ishaan Khattar, born to actress <keyword id="87662" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Neelima-Azim">Neelima Azim</keyword> and voice-over artist <keyword id="113410" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Rajesh-Khattar">Rajesh Khattar</keyword> in 1995, is the younger half-brother of Bollywood heartthrob <keyword id="6355887" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Shahid-Kapoor">Shahid Kapoor</keyword>, who was born to Neelima Azim and actor Pankaj Kapoor. For a brief period of time before he made his Bollywood debut with Ken Ghosh’s Ishq Vishk, Shahid was living with his mother and Rajesh Khattar, which is why he is said to be very close to Ishaan, who is 15 years younger to him.

Soon after take-off, five hijackers, who were posing as passengers, took control of the plane. The hostage crisis lasted for seven days and ended after the then <keyword id="23009406" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Prime-Minister-Atal-Bihari-Vajpayee" source="keywords">Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee</keyword> government agreed to release three militants. There were 191 passengers on board including 15 crew members, where one person was stabbed, who succumbed to his injuries, while several others were wounded. BJP's IT cell chief Amit Malviya had posted on X, "The hijackers of IC-814 were dreaded terrorists, who acquired aliases to hide their Muslim identities. Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha, legitimised their criminal intent, by furthering their non-Muslim names. Result? Decades later, people will think Hindus hijacked IC-814." Malviya further posted, "This will not just weaken / put in question India's security apparatus in the long run, but also shift the blame away from the religious cohort, that is responsible for all the bloodshed." In a suo motu statement by then External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh in Parliament stated that the hijacked IC-814 aircraft made several landings at Amritsar, Lahore, Dubai before being taken to Kandahar in Afghanistan. The government, then led by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, was forced to release three terrorists -- <keyword id="6459729" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Masood-Azhar" source="Orion">Masood Azhar</keyword>, Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh and Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar -- from Indian prisons to secure the release of the hostages. Later, Masood Azhar went on to form Jaish-E-Mohammad, which claimed responsibility for Pulwama attack in India in 2019, 2001 Parliament attacks and 2016 Uri attacks, amongst others. Currently in Pakistan, Azhar remains active, and was seen attending a wedding in Bahawalpur city of Pakistan's Punjab last month, per media reports. I&B Ministry summons Netflix India's head of content over 'IC 814' web series

It's suffice to say that the show has garnered quite a bit of attention, considering it is a chilling reminder of the harrowing, 8-day-long Indian Airlines flight hijack that eventually ended in the Taliban-controlled territory of Kandahar. The star-studded cast, which included <keyword id="19901508" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="vijay-varma" source="keywords">Vijay Varma</keyword>, Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapur, Aravind Swamy and Dia Mirza, the supporting cast and the show's makers did a phenomenal job in stitching together a gripping narrative around what went on during the 1999 hijack. We get to see a representation of the brave captain, five disconcerting hijackers and the only casualty from the hijack, Rupin Katyal, as Rupesh, among others. The same names have been used in the series that has sparked a fresh controversy now with some netizens accusing the makers of hiding the real names of the terrorists: Ibrahim Athar, Sunny Ahmed Qazi, Zahoor Ibrahim, Shahid Akhter and Sayed Shakir. On the show, there was one white passenger who demanded to be seated in the business class even as the armed men threatened to harm him and were later subjected to plenty of torment by the hijackers. While the show didn’t name him as such, it did lead us to wonder if that character was a reference to <keyword id="23021199" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Roberto-Giori" source="keywords">Roberto Giori</keyword> — a special passenger on IC 814 who might’ve played a huge role in mounting international pressure on the Indian government’s to release three prisoners from Indian jails. Roberto Giori was a Swiss-Italian businessman whose influence in global finance added a crucial dimension to the crisis. Giori, the then owner of De La Rue Giori, controlled 90% of the world’s currency-printing business, making him a <keyword id="23021200" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="high-profile-hostage" source="keywords">high-profile hostage</keyword>. Giori was returning from a holiday in Kathmandu with his companion, Cristina Calabresi, when the plane was hijacked by five armed men from the Harkat-ul-Mujahideen terrorist group, TIME <a href="https://time.com/archive/6954850/who-was-that-special-passenger/">reported</a> in 2000. “At one point during the eight-day hijacking of <keyword id="20779541" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-Airlines-Flight-814" source="keywords">Indian Airlines Flight 814</keyword>, the abductors demanded $200 million from the Indian government. Little did they know that one of the hostages could have effortlessly written them a check for that amount,” said the TIME. <h2>A high-profile hostage</h2>The flight’s descent into chaos saw all passengers experience extreme duress, including threats to their lives, substandard living conditions and constant psychological pressure. And despite his stature, Giori wasn’t treated any differently. It is suspected that the hijackers weren’t aware of his position either. But what made Giori’s presence on the flight particularly intriguing was the response it elicited from the <keyword id="20900102" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Swiss-government" source="keywords">Swiss government</keyword>. Switzerland, fully aware of Giori’s influence, reportedly dispatched a special envoy to Kandahar and is said to have quietly pressured the Indian government to ensure his safe release. This <keyword id="20546334" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="diplomatic-intervention" source="keywords">diplomatic intervention</keyword> was not widely publicised at the time, but it likely added another layer of urgency to the already intense negotiations. After seven days of tense standoff, the Indian government made the difficult decision to release three high-profile militants, including Maulana Masood Azhar, to secure the safe return of all hostages. The experience left a lasting impact on Giori, who later reflected on the ordeal as a life-changing event. He noted that the determination and preparedness of the hijackers were a stark reminder of the real and present dangers in the world. He also remarked on how what he experienced on the plane had changed him forever. “I don’t know what it is: Hinduism, the so-called fatalism of Indians. But the way the passengers stayed so calm throughout, even the children, was exemplary. I told myself, if the plane had been full of Italians or French, it would have been very different,” he was quoted as saying. The Netflix series, as it receives praise for its gripping depiction of the hijacking, surprisingly missed the opportunity to explore this fascinating angle. Giori’s presence on the flight was not just a footnote; it is said to be a pivotal element that underscores the global ramifications of the event. Missing link in IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack had one “very important” European passenger — one the Netflix show surprisingly didn’t highlight

The December 24, 1999 hijack of the Indian Airlines flight is getting a series treatment at Netflix with <keyword id="19913032" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="anubhav-sinha" source="keywords">Anubhav Sinha</keyword> attached as creator and director. The show is titled "IC 814: The Kandhar Hijack" and stars <keyword id="19901508" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="vijay-varma" source="keywords">Vijay Varma</keyword>, Patralekha, Pankaj Kapur, Naseeruddin Shah, Arvind Swamy, Dia Mirza, Kumud Mishra, Manoj Pahwa, Amrita Puri, and Anupam Tripathi. According to the makers, the series revolves around "the 24th December 1999 hijacking of the Indian Airlines flight IC 814 which was en route from Kathmandu to New Delhi. It was taken to Kandahar. The hijack lasted seven days and while the crew and passengers suffered, officers back home tried to find a solution to bring them home." Sinha, known for films such as "Mulk", "Article 15" and "Bheed", said it was a responsibility to be as authentic as possible while working on the series. "When I started doing research, almost everyone remembers a few things about the hijack, and what all happened during the process. I realised it is a very complex story and a lot of things happened in those seven days and not many people know about it. "I met a lot of officers, passengers, the pilot, and there was a lot more to share. We have put it all in the show... We had to make it factually correct and yet dramatic and engaging... It was an interesting process," the director said at the Next on Netflix event here. It was a journey for us because it is such a journalistic sort of piece, but it is such a large story of human interest and it had to be told in the most dramatic and thrilling fashion," Shergill told PTI. Netflix announces series on 1999 Kandahar hijack, Anubhav Sinha to direct show

By Radhika Sharma New Delhi, Apr 27 () Pressing the rewind button to shows that were wholesome, fun and told their stories sans artifice is perhaps the best antidote to the stresses of today when the country is locked in to stave off a pandemic, say some of those who rang in the golden age of TV in the 1980s and 1990s.Shows such as "Khichdi", "Sarabhai vs Sarabhai", "Buniyaad" and "Office Office" are about nostalgia, of course, but are also helping the younger generation discover a gentler India.The lockdown, which began on March 25 and is set to go on till at least May 3, has led to production shutdowns and a freeze on fresh episodes of current TV shows, forcing channels to dig into their archives to bring back old favourites, including the first major TV retelling of the epics, "Ramayan" and "Mahabharat", that have been remade several times since. And it couldn't be timed better, said old-timers like filmmaker Ramesh Sippy, writer-director Asif Kapadia and actors Pankaj Kapur, Satish Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah. Kapadia, writer-director of "Khichdi" and co-producer of "Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai", said the progressive values of the two shows, both revolving around Gujarati families, make them relevant even today. "Khichdi" is a good natured look at a madcap joint family whose members want to sell their mansion and go their separate ways but stay put because of the patriarch. "Sarabhai vs Sarabhai" revolves around a south Bombay affluent Gujarati family whose members are often at odds with each other."These shows have been a part of many generations. So people get a lot of hope, joy, and laughter. Their return is also giving the audience freedom from the current crop of shows which glorify a regressive mindset," Kapadia told ."After watching 'Sarabhai' or 'Khichdi' with family, people will not feel that something wrong has entered our drawing room. Apart from the comedy and values, they also like the inherent innocence and fun of these shows," he added. The "Sarabhai" trio -- Satish Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah and Sumeet Raghavan – said they are enjoying revisiting the show in these worrying times.Laughter is the best medicine, Satish Shah said."Just as doctors prescribe antacids with certain amount of medicines, humour too works like an antacid. What else can be better than 'Khichdi' and 'Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai', which have an eternal shelf life of unadulterated humour?" he asked.Ratna Pathak Shah, who plays Maya Sarabhai, said the shows remind people of happier, simpler, and more innocent times.Asserting that she is not "too much of a fan of nostalgia", the veteran actor said, "But I'm very curious to find what the younger generation is going to say about these programmes. The old and young people who have seen and loved it will enjoy them all over again, I guess. I'm looking forward to hearing some opinions and meanwhile, I'm enjoying 'Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai'." Raghavan, who plays Sahil, a son caught between his mother and wife's constant bickering, on "Sarabhai" said bringing a blast from the past to comfort audiences is the way to go."Except for the digital platform, there is nothing new to watch on TV because shoots have stalled. So the best thing is to get these iconic shows back on TV. All the shows are available on YouTube or other digital platforms... But television still has its own charm. I feel watching those old shows again brings a smile on our faces which is so important in these times," he said. "Office Office", which was praised for projecting a common person's woes in government offices and tackles important issues in a humorous way, will stay "evergreen", said Kapur who plays the lead role of Mussadilal Tripathi.Its comedy is identifiable. "It has always had a soft spot in my heart because we had a wonderful time working for about four and four-and-half years on this project. The show created social awareness with humour, which is its asset. It'll stay evergreen for years to come because the problems that it talked about are there everywhere. We can talk about it for years," the veteran actor said.Hemant Pandey, who plays the role of Pandeyji, a government employee, on the show, said the show is relatable and relevant, a classic comedy that can never grow old. "In these testing times, families can come together and watch a show that brings happiness," he said."This show will make people nostalgic and also make younger audience experience comedy like never before. I have beautiful memories attached to the show."Filmmaker Ramesh Sippy who directed "Buniyaad", a Partition saga told through the fortunes and misfortunes of the family of a freedom fighter, is happy to see the serial return after over three decades of its airing and hopes the younger generation discovers it now."It has been more than 30 years and the show still has recall value. Blast from the past: old TV shows not just about nostalgia in lockdown month

<keyword id="6355887" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Shahid-Kapoor">Shahid Kapoor</keyword>, <keyword id="6354526" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Alia-Bhatt">Alia Bhatt</keyword> and <keyword id="143066" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Vikas-Bahl">Vikas Bahl</keyword> have been doing amazing work lately, and this is the reason that their upcoming project <keyword id="2499664" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Shaandaar">Shaandaar</keyword> is quite awaited by fans and critics alike. In what’s called India’s first movie based on destination weddings, we would see Shahid as Jagjinder Joginder, a wedding planner responsible for a destination wedding and Alia as, well, Alia, the sister of the bride. 
 
Both Shahid and Alia are rumored to be playing insomniacs in the movie, which is why the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Shaandaar-First-look-out-trailer-and-release-dates-announced/articleshow/48358558.cms">first poster</a> of the movie showed them sound asleep, holding each other’s hands. 
 The first song from the much-anticipated Dusshehra release is out. It’s sung by Vishal Dadlani and Anusha Mani, with Amit Trivedi’s music and Anvita Dutt’s lyrics, and we see Shahid, one of the best dancers in <keyword id="143" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bollywood">Bollywood</keyword>, Alia, and <keyword id="2593624" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sanah-Kapur">Sanah Kapur</keyword> (Shahid’s sister from his father’s marriage to actress Supriya Pathak Kapur) grooving to its tunes. The song, Gulaabo, was released online today, after a strong buzz on all major social networking websites for two days. 
 
If reports are to be believed, the first song release of the movie featuring Sanah was Shahid’s Rakshabandhan gift to his pretty sister.

Later, we came to know that the girl who has won the heart of the Haider actor is <keyword id="2775998" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Mira-Rajput">Mira Rajput</keyword>, an alumnus of Delhi University. While we saw many fake Facebook pages with her name and some edited images of the couple, we got hold of both of them <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Finally-Shahid-and-Mira-in-a-single-frame/articleshow/47356669.cms">together in one frame</a>, sealing the news once and for all. 
 
Ever since then, there have been many speculations regarding the wedding and the destination that both of them would be heading to for their honeymoon, if Shahid manages to get time from his professional commitments, which includes judging the upcoming season of the popular dance reality show Jhalak Dikhlaa Ja. 
 
First, we heard that the couple would be heading for a destination wedding to Bali, which was later changed to Greece. After Shahid joked about people knowing more about his wedding than he himself knew, these speculations were put to rest for a while. However, since both Shahid and Mira are followers of Radha Soami Satsang Beas, there were some reports that they would be doing a private ceremony in Beas, where the religious organization is headquartered. 
 
All said and done, this all guesswork has been proven wrong, because we have now got hold of Shahid and Mira’s wedding card, which clearly states that it’s going to be a lavish ceremony in one of the most reputed hotels in Gurgaon.

The card is beautifully decorated and carries the name of Bela and Vikramaditya Rajput, Mira’s parents. With Shahid’s father Pankaj Kapur, it also carries the names of both Neelima Azeem, Shahid’s biological mother, and Supriya Pathak Kapur, his mother from his father’s second marriage. 
 
The wedding is going to happen on 7th July 2015, and the card demands no gifts, only blessings.

No Greece, No Beas! Shahid Kapoor’s wedding is happening in Gurgaon

In the last few years, we have had a lot of movies that have tried to offer something new to the audience. In fact, last week itself, we saw the release of a biopic staring <keyword id="1655" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Priyanka-Chopra">Priyanka Chopra</keyword>, which has been much appreciated. 
 This week it was the turn of Deepika Padukone starrer English language quirky drama to try its luck at Box Office. The movie has managed to create a place for itself amongst the niche audience but did not create a stir amongst the masses. As per Girish Johar, Film Business Expert “In the first opening weekend, <keyword id="1667771" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Finding-Fanny">Finding Fanny</keyword> has collected Rs 16.75 crore (both versions) approximately at the Indian box office”. 
 
Apart from Deepika Padukone, there were also other big names such as Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapur and Dimple Kapadia. 
 This week, Vikram Bhatt’s movie <keyword id="1700318" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Creature-3D">Creature 3D</keyword>, too, was released. The movie stars Bipasha Basu along with Pakistani actor Imran Abbas Naqvi. This is Naqvi’s first movie in Bollywood. As per Johar, Creature 3D managed to rake in Rs 10.5 crores approximately in its first weekend at the BO. 
 On the other hand, <keyword id="47387" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Mary-Kom">Mary Kom</keyword> continues to grow strong. The movie has so far managed to gather Rs 46 Crores at the box office. Considering that neither Finding Fanny nor Creature 3D managed to excite the Indian viewers, there is a good possibility that Mary Kom will continue to hold its ground in this week too. 
 While Bollywood movies did not manage to strike Gold at box office this week, Ravi Teja starrer latest Telugu film <keyword id="44011" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="power">Power</keyword> got to a good start. In the first weekend collection, the movie has managed to collect nearly Rs 16.04 crores. 
 
The next week is another big one for Bollywood as Daawet-e-Ishk and Khoobsurat clash at the box office. Let us see which amongst the two walks away with the cake.
