<ul class="summary-list"><li>In her new book, <keyword id="9194197" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="mary-trump">Mary Trump</keyword>, President <keyword id="6354484" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Donald-Trump">Donald Trump</keyword>'s niece, says her uncle cheated his way into the Wharton School by paying a friend, Joe Shapiro, to take his <keyword id="6379242" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="SAT">SAT</keyword> for him.</li><li>Shapiro's widow, the tennis legend <keyword id="191390" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Pam-Shriver">Pam Shriver</keyword>, called that claim into question in a recorded statement released on Wednesday.</li><li>While she did not refute the claim, Shriver said she was always told that her husband met Donald Trump after Trump started at Wharton.</li><li>Shriver also said Shapiro was "a man of great integrity" and "honesty."</li></ul><p>In her new book, Mary Trump, President Donald Trump's niece, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/donald-trump-cheated-on-his-sat-penn-wharton-mary-trump-2020-7">accused him of cheating his way</a> into the prestigious Wharton School by paying a "close friend" named Joe Shapiro to take his SAT for him.</p><p>But the widow of a man with the same name who was friends with Donald Trump called that claim into question on Wednesday.</p><p>The tennis legend Pam Shriver said that her first husband, who died in 1999, was a college friend of Trump's and that they kept in touch over the years.</p><p>While Shriver did not refute Mary Trump's account, she said she was always told that her husband met Donald Trump after Trump had already started at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.</p><p>Both Shapiro and Trump graduated in 1968.</p><p>Shriver also described her first husband as "a man of great integrity" and "honesty."</p><p>"Obviously Joe's not here to defend himself and to state what happened, but I just want to recollect what he told me about where he met Mr. Trump," Shriver said in <a href="https://twitter.com/PHShriver/status/1280983601874481153" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a recorded statement posted on Twitter</a>.</p><p>Shriver said she spoke out after talking with Shapiro's close friends and his sister about the incident.</p><p>It's still possible that Mary Trump was referring to another friend named Joe Shapiro, or that Shriver's husband had met Trump before Wharton, took his exam for him, and never told anyone about it.</p><p><div type="image" title="mary trump" height="1510" width="2000" msid="76873361" hostid="261"></div></p><p>Simon &amp; Schuster, the publisher of Mary Trump's book, did not immediately respond to Business Insider's request for comment.</p><p>Shriver, who won four Grand Slam tournaments as a doubles player and made it to the 1978 US Open finals as a singles player, later married and had three children with her second husband, the "James Bond" actor George Lazenby. They divorced in 2008. Appeal? — for the men's matches," Mauresmo said in a press conference during the tournament. "My goal was, when I was doing the schedule every day, to try and see... what match in the women's draw can I put there [at night]. "It was tough for more than one night to find as you say the 'match of the day' [on the women's side]."</p><p>Mauresmo — a Wimbledon and Australian Open winner — has since come under fire for "crossing a line that is not acceptable," as tennis legend-turned-commentator Pam Shriver told <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2022/06/01/french-open-women-amelie-mauresmo/">The Washington Post</a>.</p><p>"Why did she have to insult women's tennis?" she asked. "I want my tennis to be entertainment as well, and I've always said that. In my toughest moments, I always remember that I also play for people, so I think it's a personal opinion of every person if they like men's tennis or women's tennis more or if they like them equally."</p><p>"But I think women's tennis has a lot of advantages," she added. "Some may say it's unpredictable and girls are not consistent, but on the other hand, it may also be something that is really appealing and it may really attract more people."</p><div type="image" title="World No. 1 Iga Swiatek carried an incredible winning streak into the 2022 French Open." height="1763" width="2351" msid="91968661" hostid="261"></div><p>American Jessica Pegula — the 11th-ranked star who lost to Swiatek in the quarterfinal but remains in the doubles tournament with partner Coco Gauff — expressed similar sentiments after learning of Mauresmo's comments.</p><p>"It's not something you want to hear," Pegula said, per The Post. "I think at the same time we need to have chances to have really good matches to show that it is a good product as well."</p><p>Swiatek earned a decisive semifinal victory at Roland-Garros Thursday with a quick, straight-set victory against Russian star Daria Kasatkina. She'll face the winner of Gauff's semifinal contest against Italian Martina Trevisan in Saturday's championship match.</p><p>Fans can tune in to watch the women's final at 9 a.m. ET — or 3 p.m. local time — in yet another midday match. </p>

<p><div class="image-container float_right" style="width:480px"><div class="image"><p class="source">Matthew Stockman/Getty Images</p></div></div>Marion Bartoli shocked the <keyword id="6355013" type="SPORT" weightage="60" keywordseo="tennis">tennis</keyword> community when <a href="http://espn.go.com/tennis/story/_/id/9569264/wimbledon-champion-marion-bartoli-retires-loss-western-southern-open">she announced her retirement</a> after a loss in Cincinnati last night.</p>
<p>Bartoli is only 28 years old and is ranked 7th in the world, the highest ranking of her career.</p>
<p>She's also coming off her first-ever Grand Slam win at <keyword id="6437049" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Wimbledon">Wimbledon</keyword>. </p>
<p>After losing to 25th-ranked Simona Halep last night, she told reporters that winning Wimbledon took every bit of energy she had left, saying, "I have pain everywhere after 45 minutes or an hour of play. I've been doing this for so long. And yeah, it's just body-wise, I can't do it anymore."</p>
<p>She has made $11 million in prize money during his 13-year career. </p>
<p>It's unclear what Bartoli will do next, but by all accounts she's one of the most intelligent athletes in the world. She has a genius-level IQ of 175, so she has a lot to work with:</p>

Wimbledon Champion With A Genius-Level IQ Retires From Tennis At Age 28

<p>Two days after losing in the third round at Wimbledon, Serena Williams was scheduled to play a doubles match with her sister Venus, but appeared to suffer some sort of breakdown before the match.</p>
<p>During warm-ups, something was wrong as Serena had a lot of trouble hitting balls and even looked uncoordinated trying to pick balls up. </p>

<p><br />She even had trouble tossing the ball up and was dropping balls during warm-ups.</p>

<p>According to ESPN commentator Chris Evert, she noticed that Serena was not well when she first came on to the court, saying Williams looked "wobbly." Evert also noted that Serena just did not look like she normally does for a match, pointing out that Williams wasn't wearing any eye makeup.</p>
<p>Serena went to the sideline where she was met by Wimbledon personnel. She appeared to start crying as her sister looked on.</p>

<p>ESPN commentator Pam Shriver said that it looked like Serena was "having a breakdown, both physically and emotionally."</p>
<p>After a 13-minute delay, the match started even though it seemed there was no way Serena could play.</p>
<p>Serena still looked out of it. But it wasn't until Serena's first serve in the third game when things got ugly. She couldn't toss the ball on her first serve.</p>

<p><br />At this point, Evert and Shriver were questioning why Serena was even out there. When she did finally hit the ball, it barely reached the net.</p>

<p><br /> Shriver questioned whether Serena had taken something. "This is not an illness," Shriver said. "It's almost like she has taken something that makes her feel dizzy, disoriented, and she cannot reach up and strike the ball."</p>
<p>The chair umpire came out to talk to the sisters, looking very concerned.</p>

<p>He was convinced to let the match continue. But when that game was over, the sisters walked off hand in hand and withdrew from the match.</p>

<p>After the match, the ESPN commentators continued to question if Serena had taken something. </p>
<p>"It will be itneresting," said Evert. "Is it a virus? Is it something unintentional or intentional in her system that they may drug test for?"</p>
<p>Williams has had a rough week at Wimbledon. Not only did she lose early, but she seemed annoyed having to talk to the press at <a href="http://www.thenational.ae/sport/tennis/victorious-serena-williams-irritated-by-media-questions">one point during a press conference saying</a> "<span>I'm really losing focus up here. I'm trying to figure out when this is going to end. What's the next question?"</span></p>
