The Prime Minister was addressing the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2024, jointly organised by the Payments Council of India, the National Payments Corporation of India and the Fintech Convergence Council. He said the domestic economy and the capital market are in a celebratory mood at a time when the nation is also going through a festive period. Removed Angel Tax, taking policy measures to promote fintech sector: PM Modi

Mumbai, Jun 19 () Small Industries Development Bank of India (Sidbi) on Friday said it has signed a pact with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for implementation of the PM Street Vendor's AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi). PM SVANidhi is a central scheme fully funded by the ministry with the objective to facilitate working capital loan to street vendors, thus enabling them to emerge self-reliant after the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and revive their livelihood activity through formal access to credit. Sidbi will be the implementation partner for the scheme and will set up a project management unit, a release said. It will give access to the scheme through a customised digital platform and will integrate the institutional ecosystem and build capacity value chain. The development finance institution will facilitate credit guarantee to lending institutions through Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE). Microfinance institutions (MFIs) shall be on-boarded on the CGTMSE platform for the first time for the scheme, Sidbi said. The platform shall also be integrated with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to enable the processes envisaged in the scheme, it said. "We are pleased to play a role in this important national endeavour to help millions of street vendors across the country whose livelihood activities have been disrupted due to the coronavirus outbreak. "We shall carry out deep engagement with the entire lending community and urge them to actively participate to make this scheme a success," Sidbi Chairman and Managing Director Mohammad Mustafa said. The scheme includes an initial working capital of up to Rs 10,000, interest subsidy on timely/early repayment at the rate of 7 per cent, monthly cashback incentive on digital transactions and higher loan eligibility on timely repayment of the first loan. Under this scheme, commercial banks, regional rural banks, small finance banks, co-operative banks, non-banking financial companies, MFIs and self-help groups will be able to provide credit. Interim Budget 2024: FY25 capex hiked 11%; no change in tax slab, says FM Sitharaman

As a part of Prime Minister <keyword id="456744" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="street-vendor">Street Vendor</keyword>'s AtmaNibhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) Scheme, the MoHUA entered into MoU with Zomato, to bring <keyword id="6770639" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="street-food-vendors">street food vendors</keyword> on its food-tech platform. In a statement MoHUA said that initially MoHUA and Zomato will run a pilot program by on-boarding 300 vendors across six cities namely - Bhopal, Ludhiana, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, Vadodara. "The street vendors will be helped with PAN and fssai registration, training on technology/ partner app usage, menu digitization and pricing, hygiene and packaging best practices. Upon the successful completion of the pilot, MoHUA and Zomato plan to expand this initiative across the country in phases," it said. As per the MoHUA, this will give street food vendors online access to thousands of consumers and help these vendors grow their businesses. The MoHUA also launched the Mobile Application for PMSVANidhi se Samriddhi- Socio-economic profiling of PM SVANidhi beneficiaries and their families to link them to various Central government Schemes. "Covid-19 pandemic has restricted consumers from stepping out and forced them to follow physical distancing norms. In the given scenario it is important to connect Street Food Vendors with technology-enabled platforms to help them grow their business, thus helping them gain financially," said the ministry. In a first of its kind initiative, MoHUA entered into an MoU with Swiggy on October 5 last year and it is now joining hands with Zomato to empower street food vendors with digital technology. Zomato joins hands with the Indian government to deliver street food in Bhopal, Ludhiana, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, and Vadodara

In the wake of further violence in the country, video-streaming platform <keyword id="10879" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="YouTube">YouTube</keyword> has taken down <keyword id="26915" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="channels">channels</keyword> connected to five TV stations run by <keyword id="6356970" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="myanmar">Myanmar</keyword>'s <keyword id="6359526" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="military">military</keyword> (Tatmadaw). The video-streaming platform told the <keyword id="53556" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="New-York-Times">New York Times</keyword> it removed the channels for breaking its community guidelines but it didn't explain the decision any further. According to an Engadget report, among the removed channels were ones for Myanmar Radio and Television and Myawaddy Media, which air news, sports and Tatmadaw propaganda. Dozens of peaceful protestors were killed this week during demonstrations against last month's coup, the report said. Protesters have organized rallies online and shared footage of violence carried out by the military and police. The Tatmadaw responded by blocking social media services and occasionally shutting down internet access entirely. YouTube removed dozens of other channels connected to the military following Myanmar's elections last year. According to the report, it's not the only social media giant to take action to stem Tatmadaw's attempts to spread misinformation. Tech giant Facebook and it's photo-sharing platform Instagram banned the military from those platforms last week, along with ads by Tatmadaw-owned businesses. YouTube removes five TV channels run by Myanmar's military

The German automaker has unveiled two <keyword id="662112" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="electric-bikes">electric bikes</keyword>, alongside the global debut of the Porsche Taycan <keyword id="6371186" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="cross">Cross</keyword> Turismo. The <keyword id="10870767" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="porsche-ebike-sport">Porsche eBike Sport</keyword> is priced at $10,700, while the "cheaper" Porsche eBike Cross costs $8,549. Both the bikes will be up for grabs from spring 2021. The e-bikes are dubbed Porsche Sport and Porsche Cross electric bikes, designed for different usage scenarios. The Sport bike also has M99 LED lights from Supernova, which are embedded in the handlebar stem and aerodynamic seat post. The Porsche eBike Cross has a new motor developed by Shimano, Magura-MT Trail high-performance brakes with extra-large, heat-resistant brake discs for deceleration. Facebook said that it removed 446 <keyword id="732799" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Facebook-accounts">Facebook accounts</keyword>, 4 Pages, 3 Groups and 2 Instagram accounts that originated in Iran and targeted primarily Iraq, and to a lesser extent Israel, the UK, and Afghanistan. "Our <keyword id="49112" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Investigation">investigation</keyword> found links to individuals in Tehran. We found this network after reviewing public reporting about a handful of its accounts focused on Israel. Our internal investigation uncovered the broader network," the company said in a statement last week. It removed 530 Instagram accounts that originated primarily in Russia and targeted domestic audiences throughout the recent protests in support of Alexey Navalny, an anti-corruption activist and opposition politician in Russia. "We detected and disabled the vast majority of these accounts, including through automation, as they began posting," Facebook informed. The company purged removed 77 Accounts, 72 Pages, 18 Groups and 18 Instagram accounts that originated in Thailand and targeted domestic audiences in the Southern provinces of Thailand. The investigation found links to the Thai Military's Internal Security Operations Command.
