That, and Twice's social mission of helping people recycle clothes instead of throwing them away. 
"There's so much waste in this market," Ready-Campbell said, "It was clear that someone could come into this space and make things much more efficient and save people a lot of money, while making money at the same time."

Also, ‘<a href="https://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/headquarters_offices/ast/media/Conv_International_Liab_Damage.pdf">damage</a>’ includes everything from loss of life to minor injuries as well as the loss of property, natural or man made. India’s move can be construed as a contingency plan on how to secure funds should it be accused on any damage in space. India’s new ‘Space Activities Bill’ will fix the liability for damage caused in outer space

New Delhi, Apr 1 () E-governance services provider CSC SPV has sought permission to allow all common service centres to offer banking and essential services electronically during the lockdown to contain coronavirus spread, a top official said on Wednesday. Around 22,000 common service centres registered as banking correspondent are delivering their services and rest of the centres are operating in accordance to the permission given by state and local authorities, CSC e-Governance Services India Limited CEO Dinesh Tyagi told . "We have written to the minister (Ravi Shankar Prasad) for allowing all our CSCs to provide essential services that can be provided electronically," Tyagi said. There are over 2.7 lakh CSCs operational across the country. CSCs provide financial, telemedicine, education, e-commerce, gas booking services etc. "Jharkhand government has allowed the operation of all CSCs. Haryana government has given partial permission," Tyagi said. The Haryana government has also roped in CSC for delivering telemedicine services for livestock treatment. "CSCs provide Aadhaar enabled payment services (AEPS) that can be used by people in the rural area for withdrawing cash. We have also written to banks to help village level entrepreneurs by providing them with some cash for AEPS," Tyagi said.He said that allowing this service can be instrumental in supporting government's recent announcement transfer direct cash benefit transfer through to farmers, Jan Dhan account holders and other labourers. India also just came out with its own draft of the e-commerce policy on Saturday, but its main concern with WTO is the proposed custom duties on electronic transmissions. A commerce department official <a href="https://www.business-standard.com/article/economy-policy/india-refuses-to-join-e-commerce-talks-at-wto-says-rules-to-hurt-country-119022500014_1.html">told</a> Business Standard, “WTO rules come into effect for all 164 members and need to be ratified by each, but for the first time a major decision has been taken without complete consensus among member nations. We will not encourage a multilateral platform to run, based on the interests of a few nations. Our policy will deal with concerns such as cross-border data flow.” Most global e-commerce players haven’t been too subtle about the fact that India is a ‘strategic market’ for them. India claims the new rules put forth by the WTO could provide unfair market access to foreign companies, something they’ve been working hard to deter despite opening the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) pipelines. Tax on tax The draft e-commerce policy that the Indian government put out on Saturday favours not imposing any customs duties on electronic transmissions — basically any type of digital trade — which is in contradiction to the WTO’s e-commerce policy.

Just like other countries, e-commerce in India has been through ups and downs. In the early 21st century, the country had reached the pinnacle of the dotcom boom and then fell prey to the bubble burst. The rise and fall of dotcoms also saw the sector moving towards stabilisation, treading slowly and steadily but with definite steps. 
 The country has been a hotbed of IT innovations while some of the super young brains with bright entrepreneurial streak are steering the course of e-commerce in India. According to CRISIL Research, a unit of the Mumbai-based ratings firm, <keyword id="234798" type="COMPANY" weightage="40" keywordseo="CRISIL-Ltd">CRISIL Ltd</keyword>, the number of e-commerce companies in India will increase with their revenues tripling over the next three years. 
 
The prediction is based on the fact that revenues of e-commerce firms grew 56% annually between FY2008 and FY2013. However, India’s appetite for digital business is growing consistently and the testimony lies in the fact that the country embracing Internet-based commerce is estimated to have gone up by a good 30% in 2014, from the $12.6 billion market in the previous year. 
 These projections have attracted a lot of attention from e-commerce investors, especially from those outside India. All over the world, countries are looking at opportunities to bring in some bright spots through market-based economies. While the socio-political situation in <keyword id="1009187" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="40" keywordseo="the-middle">the Middle</keyword> East looks volatile, India makes for a very feasible investment destination with its majority being young population who have access to high levels of disposable income. 
 With more investors calling for FDI relaxation in the e-commerce sector, Indian authorities had recently initiated a discussion to understand the impact of foreign participation in this space. When India brought in sweeping changes in the retail space and allowed FDI investors in supermarkets, online retailers were left out. 
 
Having said that, foreign companies can engage in business-to-business (B2B) or wholesale e-commerce in India. That is an area where foreign players can enter with ease. 
 Younger consumers make for a large chunk of e-commerce drivers in a country, set to become world’s No 1 in terms of population. Liberal economic reforms and consistent growth in <keyword id="35050" type="CITY" weightage="40" keywordseo="gdp">GDP</keyword> (although not that impressive in terms of numbers), along with its ‘IT Superpower’ status, have enabled India’s youth to gain access to large disposable incomes. 
 
It is one prime factor that has helped e-commerce start-ups (with solid business plans and growth propositions) turn into big success stories. The likes of Flipkart and Snapdeal have become synonymous with India’s growing penchant for digital business models. 
 This apart, mobiles happen to be another propeller of the Indian success <keyword id="45535" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="40" keywordseo="Saga">saga</keyword> in this sector. A large urban population and a sizeable chunk of the rural populace have access to mobiles across the price range and don’t mind spending a good part of their income on buying these devices. As a result, almost every e-commerce company in India runs a mobile platform now and has created specific mobile apps to ensure user-friendly interface and hassle-free transactions. 
 If FDI in e-commerce is authorised in India, it can help maximise the potential of the sector and thus drive economic growth. The channel contributes 2% to the current FMCG market. These are insights were a part of Nielsen’s recently launched <keyword id="8408596" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="e-trak-index">E-Trak Index</keyword> - a measurement solution that tracks the FMCG e-commerce industry. The solution is created using aggregated ePOS (electronic point of sale) data from co-operating e-commerce players and data science backed estimation for non-cooperating e-commerce players in India. The index adds a crucial element to the Retail Measurement Services that Nielsen provides by adding a view of the FMCG E-commerce space for All India Metros currently - with monthly read for Total FMCG, Super-categories, Category level for about 20 categories and for 11 categories at a top manufacturer level. Manufacturers and marketers get data, information and insights that can be further used to hone their e-commerce channel sales strategy to help shape a smarter market. Metros lead the e-commerce FMCG race with a 6% contribution from the channel to total FMCG sales. Amongst these, Foods is the biggest contributor with 44%, followed by personal care (40%) and household care (13%). Narrowing in on the value contribution of e-commerce to Metro sales categories with the channel, diapers contribute 26% to the sales; followed by skin creams (12%) and shampoo (10%). <keyword id="3017476" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Prasun-Basu">Prasun Basu</keyword>, South Asia Zone President, Nielsen Global Connect, said, “Measurement is necessary. Nielsen expects FMCG e-commerce to grow at 44% CAGR to $4 Billion by 2022

If this goes down, it will be the biggest IPO of a Chinese company in the United States since China Life Insurance raised $3.3 billion going public in 2003.
Now a few things about the company - Jingdong's e-commerce site, 360Buy.com, is right behind Alibaba's Taobao in terms of e-commerce market share.
The company wants to go public soon, before its larger rival. Alibaba has yet to hire bankers, but Bloomberg reports that Jingdong is already working with UBS and Bank of America.
And according to Bank of America, that's probably a good idea. The bank recently published a report called <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/china-ecommerce-in-a-bubble-2014-1">"</a><a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/china-ecommerce-in-a-bubble-2014-1">eCommerce vs. retail: A power shift to consumer sovereignty,</a>" it is, in part, a break down of the problems in the e-commerce space. 
One of the biggest problems BofA discusses is over-saturation. There are so many companies competing in the space that they are constantly undercutting each other on prices.
"Today's China eCommerce is reminiscent of the US tech bubble in the late 1990s," says BofA. "Boosted by PE/VC money, many eCommerce players are willing to sacrifice short-term profitability to gain market share. They may offer such compelling pricing and free shipping that much bigger overseas peers may not match."
So it's war, and Jingdong's IPO is a way for the company to get a massive cash injection that could give it an edge over its peers.
Last February, Saudi Arabian Prince Alwaleed bin Talal's Kingdom Holdings put<a href="http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424127887323495104578309612747511732"> $400 million into Jingdong.</a>
Alisher Usmanov, the richest man in Russia and an early investor in Twitter, is also invested in Jingdong.
