The above video shows that it comes with a tilting mechanism that drops the product at a designated place. In the earlier version, the Ottobot 2.0 simply opened a shutter, allowing people to pick up their products inside the robot. The tilting mechanism has removed the need for a person to be present at the location. The robot is in no way perfect at the moment and cannot be used for fragile products as it simply drops them. The Ottobot Yei is, however, useful for no-contact deliveries, which may be useful in areas affected by COVID. Ottonomy is currently testing different modular bins for different products, so we may see some designs used for fragile products.
