<p>Turning to the audience, she asked, "How many of you have read an <keyword id="29411" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="email">email</keyword> on your phone and marked it unread so you could read it on your PC later?"</p>
<p>A lot of hands went up. Mayer raised hers, too.</p>
<p>That's an obvious example of a problem with mobile email that needs to get fixed.</p>
<p>And Mayer has consistently said mail is one of the core products Yahoo is going to focus on.</p>
<p>Yahoo made a big leap in email <a href="http://money.cnn.com/magazines/business2/business2_archive/2004/10/01/8186689/index.htm">eight years ago when it bought Oddpost</a>, an innovative Web-mail startup.</p>
<p>Maybe it could do the same by buying, say, Orchestra, the maker of Mailbox, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/mailbox-app-for-iphone-2013-1">an email app that has nearly half a million people on its waitlist</a> clamoring to download it?</p>
<p>Mailbox isn't a cure-all for email, but it does solve that saving-an-email-for-later problem Mayer talked about.</p>

Marissa Mayer Hints At One Way Yahoo Could Fix Email

<p>Email is one of the great unsolved problems of our day.</p>
<p>It's also one of the critical mobile <keyword id="6354741" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Apps">apps</keyword> that ought to be done well and built right into the core platform.</p>
<p>The last great mobile email app, Sparrow, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/google-just-bought-sparrow-one-of-the-best-iphone-developers-out-there-2012-7">got swallowed up by Google</a>. (Insiders have whispered to us about some tragic disagreement that led to Sparrow's sale, but we've never been able to pin down the details.)</p>
<p>We imagine that Orchestra, the company behind Mailbox, is already getting lots of buyout and investment offers.</p>
<p>Here's one fact no one's mentioned about Orchestra, though, that we find really fascinating.</p>
<p>There's a college student named <keyword id="1777259" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Adam-Cue">Adam Cue</keyword> who works as a software engineer at Orchestra, <a href="http://www.linkedin.com/pub/adam-cue/27/2a2/934">according to his LinkedIn profile</a>. Cue is also currently a senior at Duke University due to graduate in May.</p>
<p>On his Facebook profile, he <a href="https://www.facebook.com/acue2/info">lists his father as Eddy Cue</a>, an Apple senior vice president who oversees Apple's iCloud Internet services, including email.</p>
<p>Now, we're not saying that Orchestra has an inside track to get bought by Apple because an employee's father is a senior executive at the company.</p>
<p>Wait, sorry—that is what we're saying.</p>
<p>On a practical level, the relationship will probably complicate any talks between the companies, with Cue having to recuse himself from any formal discussions. But we have to think Mailbox has been on top Apple executives' radar long before most Valley insiders had decided it was the next big thing.</p>

Mailbox, The Email App Everyone's Panting Over, Has A Fascinating Link To Apple

<p>We've been dying to test Mailbox, a soon-to-be-released <keyword id="6354606" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="iPhone">iPhone</keyword> app that makes your Gmail inbox a lot easier to manage thanks to a suite of handy gestures, since the company <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/mailbox-iphone-app-2012-12">teased it a few weeks ago</a>.</p>
<p>So here's some good news.</p>
<p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Starting today, Mailbox is accepting sign-ups to get the app for free. Head over to <a href="http://www.mailboxapp.com/reservations">its website to give it whirl</a>.</span></p>
<p>Once your reservation is processed, you'll get a confirmation number that you'll later use to download the app from the App Store.</p>
<p>Reservations will be filled on a first-come-first-serve basis, so hurry up if you want to be one of the first to get Mailbox on your iPhone.</p>

<ul class="summary-list"><li>Michael and Hayley Burson are lifelong "<keyword id="6357995" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Harry-Potter">Harry Potter</keyword>" fanatics, and they even host a podcast in honor of the series.</li><li>The Bursons often do "Harry Potter" cosplays, with Michael often sewing costumes for them.</li><li>The duo recently posted two TikToks in which they modeled what they thought <keyword id="6" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="60" keywordseo="fashion">fashion</keyword> at <keyword id="708827" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Hogwarts">Hogwarts</keyword> would look like over the last 100 years.</li><li>J.K. Rowling retweeted one of the TikToks on Twitter, telling her followers she laughed out loud at the video.</li><li><a href="https://www.insider.com/?hprecirc-bullet">Visit Insider's homepage for more stories</a>.</li></ul><p>"Harry Potter" quite literally brought Michael and Hayley Burson together.</p><p>The couple, who have been married for seven years, met in college after Michael started a "Harry Potter" club that Hayley joined. They've been together ever since.</p><p>"'Harry Potter' has been a huge influence in our relationship," Hayley, 31, said of herself and her husband, 29.</p><h2>The Bursons have been doing 'Harry Potter' cosplays together since 2016</h2><p>"It's been a huge hobby for us," Hayley told Insider of "Harry Potter" cosplays.</p><p>It's easy for the couple to dress up because Michael is good at sewing — his cosplay handles are aptly named "<a href="https://www.instagram.com/thewizardtailor/">thewizardtailor</a>"  — so he often makes costumes for them.</p><p>The Bursons go to conventions in their wizard cosplay, and they post their looks on their social media accounts frequently.</p><p>The couple also hosts a <a href="https://www.holdmybutterbeer.com/podcast">podcast</a> about "Harry Potter" with two of their friends, discussing the magical world J.K. Rowling created.</p><h2>The couple recently got the idea to model 100 years of Hogwarts fashion</h2><p>"It was just a quarantine idea," Hayley said of the concept. "We just accumulated a lot of 'Harry Potter' clothes, especially Michael."</p><p>"Fashion history has always been a big interest for both of us, so it just kind of fit into it," she added.</p><p>Hayley used pieces she already had to put together 10 ensembles to represent Hogwarts fashion from the 1920s to the 2020s, and she posted a compilation of the looks on <keyword id="6762469" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="TikTok">TikTok</keyword>.</p> <p>The next day, she posted a follow-up TikTok starring Michael, in which he modeled men's Hogwarts fashion for the same period.</p><p>Both videos took about three hours to make.</p><p>Neither Hayley nor Michael had to buy anything for their cosplays, as they already had all they needed at home.</p> <p>Michael also made the capes he wore for the looks from the '60s and '70s, which were both of the Bursons' favorite outfits of all the looks they modeled.</p><p>Both videos received thousands of views, but the video of Michael quickly went viral, having close to 1 million views at the time of writing.</p><h2>The TikTok of Michael was shared around the world</h2><p>The couple told Insider a news outlet in South Africa featured their video.</p><p>"It was like a fashion show just for us, and then we enjoyed it and I guess other people did, which was really cool," Hayley said of the attention the video received.</p><p>But the most exciting viewer was J.K. Rowling herself, who retweeted the TikTok when it was shared on Twitter.</p><p>"I loled," Rowling wrote in her retweet.</p><p>The Bursons were shocked that Rowling saw the TikTok.</p><p>"We were watching TV, and then Michael clutched his chest and was like, 'J.K. Rowling's seen it,'" Hayley said of their reaction.</p><p>"It was an insanely cool moment," she added. "I was just floored."</p><h2>The couple told Insider they plan to keep doing 'Harry Potter'-inspired cosplays</h2><p>"It's just something that's always been a huge interest to me, especially thinking about 'Harry Potter' wizard clothing and thinking about what they wore," Hayley said.</p><p>"That's another reason I got into cosplay. A Steve Jobs musical is coming in 2017

<p>"First of all, New York weddings are more expensive than any other part of the United States," Harriette Rose Katz, <a href="http://gourmetadvisory.com/" target="_blank">founder and president of Gourmet Advisory</a>, an upscale event planning and party coordination consultancy, told Business Insider.
