Through his many heists to clear his father's name, <a href="https://time.com/6071968/lupin-omar-sy-interview/">Assane takes inspiration from Arsène Lupin</a>, a character created by real-life French novelist Maurice LeBlanc.</p><p>In the five-episode Part 1 released in January, "Lupin" gave viewers a peek into its enigmatic main character's life and that of the people who wronged his family. Assane comes close to exposing his father's former boss Hubert Pellegrini (played by Hervé Pierre) for pinning the theft of the diamond necklace on Babakar, as well as some other suspicious deals. However, the wealthy businessman uses his connections in the media to avoid being held accountable. </p><p>The second part, which started streaming on Netflix on Friday, continues to follow Assane on his journey to seek long-overdue justice. He has more success in exposing Hubert and his accomplices this time around.</p><p>In the final scene of the fifth episode (the last installment of Part 2), Assane tells his family, "I'll be back" before disappearing into the night as police sirens blare in the background.</p><p>Luckily, "Lupin" fans won't have to wait too long after this big cliffhanger to find out if the story will continue - Netflix renewed the popular <keyword id="36507" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="60" keywordseo="Thriller">thriller</keyword> for <a href="https://www.bustle.com/entertainment/lupin-part-3-premiere-date-cast-plot-details">a third batch of episodes in May</a>. Sy also confirmed the news in a tweet. </p><p>A release date for Part 3 of "Lupin" hasn't been announced yet.</p><h2>'Lupin' Part 2 ends at a crucial time in Assane's story</h2><p>In the first two parts, "Lupin" reveals that Babakar is innocent and that Hubert fraudulently claimed that the diamond necklace was stolen so the businessman could cash in on the insurance money. Babakar was found dead by suicide in jail in the first part, but viewers find out in the second installment that Hubert actually had Babakar killed to silence him, staging it as a suicide. </p><p>The second part ends with Hubert under arrest in connection with embezzling money and having Babakar and journalist Fabienne Bériot (played by Anne Benoît) killed.</p><p>While it's a promising start at justice, it's still not guaranteed that Hubert will actually face any consequences for his crimes. In the fourth episode of the second part, Hubert is brought into the police station for questioning for insurance fraud related to the diamond necklace, but he uses his connections to avoid having to reveal anything. </p><p>Similarly, while Hubert may or may not finally be brought to justice, Assane is still wanted for many crimes, including stealing the infamous diamond necklace from an auction months prior. Not much is known about his whereabouts at the end of the second part. Hopefully, the next batch of episodes will give viewers some answers about that.</p><div type="image" title="lupin netflix" height="1101" width="1468" msid="83519962" hostid="261"></div><p>"Lupin" cocreator George Kay said during a June 4 appearance on <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/tvs-top-5-lupin-part-2-we-are-lady-parts-rise-of-global-tv-1234962746/">The Hollywood Reporter's "TV's Top 5" podcast</a> that while the first two parts of the stylish show are all about "the avenging of Babakar's death," part three will be "a new adventure" featuring Assane. </p><p>"Part 3 will be a new adventure entirely with a new emotional goal and a similar amount of adventures and self-contained stories to kind of get us across that arc," Kay told podcast hosts Lesley Goldberg and Daniel Fienberg. "So, yeah, similar, but moving on from the kind of central arc of one and two."</p><p>It's not a surprise that Netflix wants to continue exploring the world "Lupin" has created - the show is <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/lupin-one-of-netflix-biggest-hits-all-time-viewership-data-2021-1">one of the most popular series</a> on the streaming platform. </p><p>The Hollywood Reporter <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/lupin-netflix-viewership-1st-quarter-2021-4169497/">wrote in April</a> that the series, which holds a <a href="https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/lupin">98% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes</a>, was the most-watched Netflix show in the first quarter of 2021. In fact, one person even declined to help Sy when the actor asked for help. </p><p>Sy, who is <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/14/arts/television/lupin-netflix-omar-sy.html">one of the most well-known movie stars</a> in France, opened up about getting ignored by commuters at a subway station, near the <a href="https://www.insider.com/the-louvre-put-its-entire-art-collection-online-for-free-2021-4">famous Louvre Museum</a>, during a chat with <a href="https://time.com/6071968/lupin-omar-sy-interview/">Time magazine published on Tuesday</a>.</p><p>"There is a category of person in France, people who have specific jobs, but who we never stop to consider," Sy said. "People will just pass by you without seeing you."</p><p>Sy previously shared an Instagram clip of the experience in January to mark the release of the first part of the <a href="https://slate.com/culture/2021/01/lupin-review-2021-netflix-series-omar-sy.html">critically-acclaimed thriller</a>.</p><p>In the minute-long IGTV video, the actor is seen dressed in dark clothes and wearing a black facemask as he climbs onto a bench at the station platform to place a "Lupin" poster on the wall.</p><p>Sy is surrounded by commuters who briefly look at the actor from time to time without saying anything. Only one person approaches Sy and helps him out in the video. </p><h2>Sy's 'Lupin' character is frequently seen wearing disguises</h2><p>While Sy going unrecognized at the Paris station might have been unexpected for the actor, much of <a href="https://www.netflix.com/title/80994082">his "Lupin" character's success</a> in the show depends on <em>not</em> getting noticed by law enforcement, antagonists, and former lovers. </p><p>In "Lupin," Sy plays Assane Diop, a man trying to take revenge against a few very wealthy people who may have framed his late father for stealing a priceless diamond necklace. Throughout the show, Assane takes inspiration from Arsène Lupin, a character created by real-life French novelist Maurice LeBlanc, in his many heists. Much like Assane, Lupin <a href="https://time.com/6071968/lupin-omar-sy-interview/">robbed people while being classy and charming</a>. </p><p>In the first part of the series, released on Netflix in January, Assane dresses up as a food delivery person, a member of the cleaning crew at the Louvre Museum, and an IT technician in various episodes as he carries out elaborate plans to clear his father's name.</p><p>When Assane is disguised as a gig worker or someone doing mundane chores (much like Sy putting up a poster at a Paris subway station), the suave conman does not get noticed by the police and the ultra-wealthy who possibly framed his father, because, as the protagonist says in the first episode, "those at the top don't look at the bottom." </p><div type="image" title="Lupin TV show Netflix Emmanuel Guimier  " height="1333" width="1778" msid="83387785" hostid="261"></div><p>"What we say in the series is not an invention. Netflix star Omar Sy says nobody recognized him when he put up a poster for his own show at a busy Paris subway station

<ul class="summary-list"><li>After Shailja Ambrose collapsed at work, she found out she had a brain aneurysm.</li><li>Ambrose urged her sister, Neerja Patel, to get tested. Patel learned she had three brain aneurysms.</li></ul><p>Shailja Ambrose woke up on a gloomy November morning in 2017 anticipating a mundane day full of work, meetings, and parental responsibilities for her two children. Little did she know, she would collapse in the basement bathroom at work because of a ruptured <a href="https://www.insider.com/guides/health/conditions-symptoms/are-there-warning-signs-before-an-aneurysm">brain aneurysm</a>.</p><p>As she was slowly losing consciousness, Ambrose managed to ask Siri to contact one of her coworkers, Jill, for help; she knew it would be the only way to get assistance in the otherwise serviceless basement. Jill called for medical attention, and EMTs arrived quickly on the scene. Ambrose asked to be taken to the nearest trauma center.</p><p>Ambrose, then 40, had never suffered from any symptoms that indicated she had any neurological issues. However, over the course of six years, as she cared for her husband who later died of <a href="https://www.insider.com/diagnosed-with-brain-cancer-at-25-how-i-stay-resilient-2023-4">brain cancer</a>, she gained a unique knowledge of brain-related issues and signs to look out for.</p><h2>Brain aneurysms are the 'silent killer'</h2><p>A <a href="https://www.insider.com/emilia-clarke-brain-aneurysm-speak-symptoms-causes-explained-2022-7">brain aneurysm</a>, formally known as a cerebral aneurysm, occurs when there is a bulge in a weak area of an artery in the brain. When blood flows to the brain, the pressure pushes the weakened section outward and causes it to stretch, similar to inflating a balloon.</p><p>As <a href="https://mnamd.com/dr-omar-syed/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Omar Syed</a>, a board-certified neurosurgeon in the New York metro area, told Insider, the vast majority of aneurysms are asymptomatic, or do not cause symptoms if they have not ruptured, or burst open. But if a brain aneurysm ruptures, it can cause bleeding into the brain and be life-threatening if not immediately treated. A ruptured aneurysm can also cause some people to experience extremely painful headaches, nausea, vomiting, stiff neck, blurry vision, or a serious loss of consciousness, Syed said.</p><p>After the rupture, Ambrose remained in the hospital's intensive-care unit for two weeks to make sure she was receiving the right medication to treat her pain and recovery. Ambrose was visited by her children, friends, and family. One of those visitors was Ambrose's younger sister, Neerja Patel. </p><p>"I didn't know anything about brain aneurysms, but from the internet, I saw that the chances of survival were slim," Patel said. "The doctor informed me that brain aneurysms run in the family and that I should get screened. I thought to myself, 'What are the chances I have it, too?'"</p><p>That December, after some deliberation and encouragement from her husband, Patel was screened at Mount Sinai in New York City and learned she had not one but three brain aneurysms. She sought additional opinions from doctors at New York University's health center and NewYork-Presbyterian. They confirmed her diagnosis. In fact, doctors told her that one aneurysm was especially large and that if it was left unclipped, it would rupture. That April, Patel had to get an <a href="https://www.insider.com/cdc-investigates-2022-nevada-cluster-of-brain-abscesses-in-kids-2023-5">open-brain craniotomy</a>.</p><p>"Thankfully, the surgery went well, though I temporarily lost my ability to chew due to weakened jaw muscles and had to go on a liquid diet for six weeks," Patel added. "I will never forget the surgeon's words post-surgery. He said it was a really close call and had that aneurysm gone unattended or unclipped, he wasn't sure how much time I had left." </p><p>Through physical therapy and after a slow recovery, Patel has regained her pre-surgery life. As for the other two aneurysms, she gets an MRI screening annually to keep an eye on their growth in case there's a need for surgeries.</p><h2>Aneurysms are not hereditary, but family members should get screened if 2 people are affected</h2><p>Research by the <a href="https://stanfordhealthcare.org/medical-clinics/stanford-south-asian-translational-heart-initiative/conditions.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Stanford South Asian Translational Heart Initiative</a> found that people of South Asian ancestry had a higher risk of heart disease compared with other ethnic groups, primarily attributed to the <a href="https://www.northshore.org/healthy-you/why-south-asians-have-higher-risk-of-heart-disease/#:~:text=Although%20South%20Asians%20have%20lower,skin%2C%20known%20as%20subcutaneous%20fat." target="_blank" rel="noopener">lifestyle and diet</a> prevalent within the population. Since brain aneurysms are caused by a weakness in the walls of blood vessels in the brain, heart disease is a common <a href="https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/brain-aneurysm/causes/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">contributing risk</a> factor, as is smoking, high blood pressure, and family history, studies have found.</p><p>More than half of unruptured aneurysms are <a href="https://jnnp.bmj.com/content/92/5/542" target="_blank" rel="noopener">purely incidental findings</a>, Dr. Sayed told Insider, though anyone experiencing any symptoms like unprecedented severe headaches, weakness or numbness, confusion, seizures, blurred or double vision, or a stiff neck should seek medical attention immediately.</p><p>Additionally, Syed recommended an annual MRI screening if two or more first-degree relatives (a parent, child, or sibling) had aneurysms. If no aneurysm is detected, then follow-up imaging is recommended every five years. Anyone with a family history of aneurysms should also pay attention to risk factors such as smoking, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and excessive alcohol intake.</p><p>"It's important to know that these are modifiable risk factors and positive changes in diet and lifestyle behaviors can reduce your risk for aneurysm rupture," Syed said.</p><h2>The sisters learned to advocate for their health </h2><p>Given the asymptomatic nature of aneurysms, Patel and Ambrose urged their family to get screened. Though a few of their cousins agreed to the screening (and were given the all clear), some older family members were hesitant, and while their mother did agree to a screening, which led to an aneurysm being found, doctors advised that the risks of clipping it (i.e., bleeding, infection, and strokelike complications) did not outweigh the benefits. </p><div type="image" title="A photo of Shailja Ambrose on the left and Neerja Patel on the right. "If you are facing something medical, reach out, ask questions, and find what's best for you. Information is power."</p>

A brain aneurysm survivor urged her family to get screened. Her mom and sister have them, too.

<ul class="summary-list"><li>The first-ever footage of "Jurassic World: Dominion" was show at CinemaCon on Wednesday.</li><li>The visuals were dazzling of the dinosaurs roaming around a modern world.</li><li>It also showcased the return of the stars from "<keyword id="11949667" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="jurassic-park" source="Orion">Jurassic Park</keyword>."</li></ul><p>The first-ever footage of "Jurassic World: Dominion" was shown at <a href="https://www.insider.com/category/cinemacon-2021">CinemaCon</a> on Wednesday.</p><p>Touted as the close of the close to 30 year journey of the "Jurassic" franchise, which began with Steven Spielberg's visually astounding 1993 movie "<a href="https://www.insider.com/details-easter-eggs-original-jurassic-park-movie">Jurassic Park,</a>" Universal's presentation at the movie theater convention closed with a celebration of the franchise and glimpses at what's to come in "Dominion."</p><p>Along with interviews from "Jurassic World" leads Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, there were also ones from "Jurassic Park" stars Sam Neill and Laura Dern, who return in "Dominion" as Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler, respectively.</p><p>And there's also an interview from "Jurassic World" director Colin Trevorrow, who is returning to take the reins on "Dominion" (J.A. Bayona directed 2018's "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom"). In the CinemaCon package Trevorrow says simply that the movie asks the question if dinosaurs lived amongst us would we be safe? "And the answer is no," he said.</p><p>Paired with the interviews is footage of our stars running from dinosaurs who are now roaming around the world thanks to the events that took place in "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom." As we have come to know with this franchise, the action and computer animation is dazzling. </p><p>You can even see Pratt's Owen Grady character riding a horse to stay clear from a huge dinosaur.</p><p>"Dominion" will also star Jeff Goldblum, BD Wong, and Omar Sy.</p><p>It will be released in theaters in June 2022.</p>

The first footage of 'Jurassic World: Dominion' shows the return of the 'Jurassic Park' characters

<ul class="summary-list"><li>Warning: There are minor spoilers ahead for "<keyword id="14001612" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="jurassic-world" source="Orion">Jurassic World</keyword>: Dominion."</li><li>The third "Jurassic World" is best when the old and new casts are together, but that's not enough.</li></ul><p>When<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkEU6fC_nhY"> a "Jurassic World: Dominion" teaser was released last November,</a> showcasing a T. rex menacingly invading a drive-in theater to destroy cars and property, it set the tone for what viewers are likely expecting from the sequel — dinosaurs on the loose in our world.</p><p>After all, 2018's "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" ended with all of the dinosaurs escaping the confines of <keyword id="11949667" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="jurassic-park" source="Orion">Jurassic Park</keyword>, free to wreak havoc. <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8aQZdxAGt0">In the film's final minutes</a>, Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) teased that we were entering a new era, Jurassic World.</p><p>So it's a bit strange that instead of receiving a sequel that delivers on the premise teased in "Fallen Kingdom," returning franchise director Colin Trevorrow brings an overarching plot to "Dominion" that has nothing to do with dinosaurs whatsoever, but rather giant engineered locusts that threaten to wipe out the planet's food supply. </p><div type="image" title="Jurassic World Dominion" height="1478" width="2802" msid="92091056" hostid="261"></div><p>Sure, there are still plenty of dinos, chase sequences, and great T. rex fights, but instead of focusing solely on how the world is acclimating to its new dinosaur inhabitants (we see a bit of that in the film's opening montage with a curated news report about a black market for dinos, illegal breeding, and poachers), the film wastes so much of its potential on a plot to highlight the dangers of one corporation, Biosyn, having too much power.</p><p>Diehard "Jurassic" fans will instantly recognize the genetics company from 1993's "Jurassic Park." In this film, not only does its CEO, Lewis Dodgson (Campbell Scott), want to have control over every dinosaur species, but he also wants to control the world's food supply chain for a reason that's never really explained other than wanting to be the most powerful man on the planet. (You know, the predictable driving force behind many egotistical super villains.) </p><p>None of that silliness matters because the film is rooted in so much nostalgia that it may be enough to keep families satiated, who just want to see dinosaurs and some familiar faces in the form of Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and the original "Jurassic Park" cast reunited on screen. </p><h2><div type="image" title="Jurassic World: Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler, Ian Malcolm" height="1424" width="2822" msid="92091057" hostid="261"></div>The sequel is at its best when the old and new 'Jurassic' casts are together, but it takes far too long for them to team up.</h2><p>Surprisingly, Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill), and Malcolm reprise their "Jurassic Park" roles not to deal with dinosaurs running amok on planet Earth, but instead to expose Biosyn as the company behind the mystery locust outbreak. </p><p>Meanwhile the "Jurassic World" gang — Owen Grady (Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Howard) — are on the trail of a stolen teen, Maisie Lockwood (the clone from "Fallen Kingdom" who they're now holding hostage raising as their own), and a baby velociraptor who is apparently an immaculate child of Owen's old raptor pal, Blue. Poachers kidnap both to send them to Biosyn. </p><div type="image" title="Jurassic World Dominion old and new Jurassic casts" height="1388" width="2846" msid="92091058" hostid="261"></div>If you think everyone's converging at Biosyn early in the film, that's not the case despite what <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtQycgMD4HQ">trailers may have you believe</a>. The film spends too much time lollygagging to get everyone to the genetics compound with the locust plotline pushing the film to a bloated two hours and 27 minutes, making "Dominion" the longest <keyword id="11897475" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="movie" source="Orion">movie</keyword> in the "Jurassic" franchise. <p>When the squad is finally, briefly together, they're great riffing off of one another. Goldblum injects his natural charisma and charm into the sequel, bringing some much-needed humor in the long-running time. His character, Dr. Malcolm, even gets in a laugh about his viral unbuttoned shirt scene from the original.</p><div type="image" title="Jurassic World: Dominion, Owen Grady and his hand gestures" height="1410" width="2850" msid="92091059" hostid="261"></div>Pratt spends most of his time on-screen making his trademark "whoa there" hand gesture every time he comes in contact with a dinosaur as if he's some sort of dino whisperer. (It's a wonder the dinos don't bite his hands off when he gives them every opportunity to do so.) <p>Despite being a trained dino wrangler, it's Howard's character, Claire — not Owen — who gets one of the movie's best scenes with her own dinosaur encounter. </p><p>The best performance in this film though, aside from the return of the original cast who do the most with what they're given, is DeWanda Wise's Kayla Watts, a spunky, no-frills former military pilot, who's easily the best addition to "Dominion." According to the film's production notes, Wise helped flesh out her character. </p><h2>Animatronic and more realistic-looking dinosaurs steal the movie.</h2><h2><div type="image" title="Jurassic World Dominion dino with feathers" height="1380" width="2830" msid="92091060" hostid="261"></div></h2><p>The cast aside, praise should also be given to animatronics supervisor John Nolan and his team, who created 27 individual dinosaurs for the film, 10 of which are new to "Dominion." </p><p>One scene in particular, when Owen enters a shady, underground lair for those who use dinos for sport, gives off massive "Star Wars" cantina vibes as a multitude of animatronic dinos are put on display. </p><p>Dinosaur fans and paleontologists may finally be happy that after years of incomplete depictions of dinos in "Jurassic" movies, the film finally showcases some dinosaurs with feathers.</p><h2>You'll be rewarded if you revisit 1993's 'Jurassic Park' before watching 'Dominion.'</h2><h2><div type="image" title="jurassic park" height="1296" width="2220" msid="92091061" hostid="261"></div></h2><p>"Dominion" has more in common with 1993's "Jurassic Park" than 2018's "Fallen Kingdom" as it revels in the magic of what made the original a success — almost too much.</p><p>You won't be lost if you don't rewatch the 1993 film, but you'll certainly get swept up in all the nostalgia if you do. There are so many callbacks and near-recreations of scenes from the original that you'll either love the throwbacks or think "Dominion" is doing a lazy job of simply rehashing what worked in the past in order to tap into fans' love for the franchise.</p><p>If you weren't upset that 2015's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/star-wars-a-new-hope-force-awakens-side-by-side-2016-3">was essentially a rehash of "A New Hope,"</a> then you'll probably enjoy "Dominion" just fine. </p><h2>Any bad reviews shouldn't hurt this movie at the box office.</h2><div type="image" title="Chris Pratt in Jurassic World: Dominion" height="850" width="1613" msid="92091062" hostid="261"></div><p>Some critics began <a href="https://variety.com/2022/film/news/jurassic-world-dominion-first-reactions-1235286317/">panning the film online in social reactions</a> Monday. Those likely won't matter at the box office. "Fallen Kingdom," which is a tougher watch than "Dominion" <a href="https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/jurassic_world_fallen_kingdom">with a 47% rating on Rotten Tomatoes</a>, <a href="https://www.boxofficemojo.com/title/tt4881806/?ref_=bo_se_r_3">grossed over $1 billion worldwide</a>. </p><p>People love dinosaurs. Viewers don't care if these films are good or bad. Audiences just want a fun romp at theaters and "Dominion" delivers. </p><p>There are some absolutely bonkers scenes in this film. It skims over immaculate conception, cloning, and repeats the name of a new dinosaur — the Giganotosaurus — so many times that it clearly exists just to get kids to ask parents for a toy when you leave theaters. Despite its shortcomings, "Dominion" is an enjoyable outing for families as long as you don't think too hard.</p><p>The film's production notes confirm that this is the final installment of the "Jurassic" franchise, and it ends quite neatly with no post-credit scenes.</p><p>Though the three-film "World" franchise may be over, there's nothing to stop another "Jurassic" franchise from kicking off. "Dominion" does leave at least one loose end that could make another franchise possible, and as Dr. Malcolm famously says in the film, "Life finds a way." </p><p><em>"Jurassic World: Dominion," also starring BD Wong, Justice Smith, Isabella Sermon, Mamoudou Athie, Omar Sy, and Daniella Pineda, is in theaters Friday.</em></p><h2>Grade: B</h2>

<p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div>A big reason for the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/jurassic-world-box-office-opening-weekend-2015-6">historic box office success</a> of "Jurassic World" is due to its nostalgia for the original 1993 hit, "Jurassic Park."</span></p><p>Lowery's vintage t-shirt with the original logo, the kids riding around in one of the old jeeps from the first film, and the return of Dr. Henry Wu are just some of the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/jurassic-world-jurassic-park-references-2015-6%201993">goodies you can find</a> in the new movie that reference the original.</p><p>But the actor who plays Dr. Wu, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/jurassic-world-bd-wong-hesitant-to-return-2015-6">BD Wong</a>, says there's one thing "World" has done much better than "Park" - ethnic diversity.</p><p>"Twenty-two years ago it was Sam Jackson and me," said Wong. In Michael Crichton's book on which the film is based, Dr. Wu has a major presence.</span></span></p><p>"When you're an ethnic actor you always have to question why this character got scaled down so much," Wong told BI. "You go, 'Oh, darn, this is an opportunity that got wasted.'
