Mobs have shown their affinity to gore with unexpected acts like trying to set a petrol pump on fire, yesterday. However, the police are taking standard measures like lathi charge, water cannons, and tear gas. Last night, the police issued a shoot at sight order — where they can immediately shoot anyone who tries to escape the situation. However, Kejriwal’s latest comment sends a clear message that Delhi police might not have what it takes to control a violent crowd. While there was no violence reported on February 26, normalcy is yet to resume in the affected areas. The directions came after a private school, Bhai Parmanand Vidya Mandir, at Surya Niketan in east Delhi said that its students have been allotted CBSE centres that are approximately 16 kilometres away, on the Chandu Nagar-Karawal Nagar road — and it takes at least 40 minutes to reach there. The court then said that the safety if children can not be compromised. Earlier, the board also called off the Class X and Class XII exams that were supposed to take place on February 26. The exam was scheduled across 86 centres in North East Delhi — both government and private schools. Class X students were supposed to sit down for an English exam while Class XII students had a web applications exam. However, the new dates have not been informed yet. Delhi HC wants CBSE to keep students informed about the delayed exam schedule

<ul><li>For the last four months, the residents of Delhi have been either stuck in never-ending traffic or walked out of closed metro stations; or looking for ways to keep their children engaged thanks to unexpected school closures. </li><li>All this is happening in the wake of protests, violence, gunfire and a lot more that is stressing out the national capital. </li><li>Here are all the reasons that Delhi is protesting and suffering for, at the same time. </li></ul>For the last four months, the residents of Delhi have been either stuck in never-ending traffic or walked out of closed metro stations; or looking for ways to keep their children engaged thanks to unexpected school closures. All this is happening in the wake of protests, violence, gunfire and a lot more that is stressing out the national capital. The era of protests started much before the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) issue raged on. In early November, students started it as Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) hiked hostel fee. Later, the winter session of the Parliament has left students and citizens alike taking to the streets protesting the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/india/news/bullets-glass-and-stones-fly-all-over-north-east-delhi-killing-5-and-injuring-100/articleshow/74294273.cms">Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA)</a>. Recently, depositors of scam-hit PMC Bank staged a protest outside RBI in Delhi asking the banking regulator to take action. Moreso, the victims who saw their savings vanish also said that they would take inspiration from ‘Shaheen Bagh’ protests. Looks like Delhi is not falling short of issues to take to streets about. While most of the above-mentioned issues are resulting in strife across the country, no city is as affected as Delhi which has become the hotbed. But this is only for the schools in North East Delhi. In fact, the students too, took to Twitter to complain about the situation in their areas. With curfews imposed in many areas, it may not be safe to travel to the examination centres. CBSE exams for Class X and Class XII postponed in 86 Delhi schools due to violence and curfew

"F— YOUR CURFEW," clap, clap, clap-clap-clap. "F— YOUR CURFEW!"For hours, the march had moved without incident, as two groups of protesters converged and set off together on a wide loop of central Brooklyn. After turning north, the demonstrators faced off with a line of cops outside the NYPD's 77th Precinct. <div type="image" title="precinct" height="1600" width="2133" msid="76202090" hostid="261"></div>For a moment, it seemed as if things would boil over: the thousands-strong crowd was stalled in the middle of the block, their attention diverted to the cops holding the gate to the precinct's parking lot. But the street ahead was open, and organizers at the head of the column tracked back, shouting at the group to keep moving. The crowd cleared and continued its march. The police held their line. As the group marched up Fulton St., nearing Barclays Center well after the 11 p.m. curfew, people on bikes raced up to the car leading the march, directing protesters to turn south on Vanderbilt, dodging the heavy police presence ahead. "They're waiting for you up there," the leaders yelled. "Turn left, turn left!"The column turned, eventually ending up in Grand Army Plaza, where it marched on. I walked home past a deserted Barclays Center, vacant save for a few remaining police.<div type="image" title="crowdinroad" height="1600" width="2133" msid="76202093" hostid="261"></div>The curfew, a sudden order passed down through the contentious grapevine between the offices of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio, does not appear to be a hard and fast rule. This week, the city's police force has used it as a tool to oppose and harass individual protesters when they find themselves in vulnerable positions, while allowing many — though not all — large marches to proceed unimpeded well past the cutoff. It's also been used to limit movement within Manhattan, which saw widespread and relatively unchecked looting on Sunday and Monday nights as police focused their efforts on violently opposing protesters in different parts of the city. On Monday, the first night of the curfew, <a href="https://twitter.com/rachelolding/status/1267636201915383808?s=20">police milled around midtown</a> while looters smashed up <a href="https://twitter.com/rachelolding/status/1267663717082238976?s=20">businesses just blocks away</a>, before and after the curfew's imposition. <div type="image" title="copsnight" height="1600" width="2133" msid="76202096" hostid="261"></div><h2>An earlier curfew fails to keep people in</h2>On Tuesday, Mayor de Blasio moved up the city-wide curfew to 8 pm, setting up further confrontations with large demonstrations planned for 6 and 7 pm around the city. In Manhattan, protesters started in Bryant Park after the remnants of an earlier event marched up 5th Ave. "I mean, the curfew only exists to pander to this whole system that Trump has created," said Carine Green, a student at SUNY Stonybrook, who said they wouldn't be respecting the decree."So many people are dying, and there's no justice," they said. "For me, as someone who's experienced a family member dying to police violence, I know how that feels. I don't want other people to keep knowing how that feels." <div type="image" title="cops" height="1600" width="2133" msid="76202099" hostid="261"></div> Unlike the chaotic early days of protests, the NYPD's marching orders appear to have changed. Protesters are now allowed to "take the street," a tactic that the NYPD has <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2014/11/26/nyregion/hundreds-protesting-ferguson-decision-block-traffic-in-new-york-city.html">permitted in the past</a> as it keeps large numbers of marchers moving, reducing the chance of violent confrontations. On Friday and Saturday night, on the other hand, the NYPD <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/photos-protests-brooklyn-george-floyd-nypd-2020-5">forced huge crowds into confined spaces</a> and antagonized them with pepper spray until tension boiled over. (The NYPD did not respond to Insider's queries on the police's directives on handing protests.)<div type="image" title="disarmnypdsign" height="1600" width="2133" msid="76202101" hostid="261"></div> Tuesday's march through Manhattan was led by Black Lives Matter's Greater New York president Nupol Kiazolu. Her organizers led chants of "We Are Non-Violent" and "We Are Organized" before beginning to march, setting the pace of the column with a moving rope line in front. The only moment of tension was at a police barricade on 5th Ave. and 56th St., where a combination of NYPD and Secret Service agents stopped the protest from walking past Trump Tower. After a few nervous moments, the protest backed up, peacefully dispersing at 55th St.<div type="image" title="bryantpark" height="1600" width="2133" msid="76202106" hostid="261"></div> Lower down on the island on Tuesday, the streets were quiet. The curfew, with its ban on vehicle traffic below 96th St., appears to have curbed the looting in the city's affluent shopping districts. But it also gave the police a new justification for impeding peaceful protests and further harassing already over-policed communities. In the Bronx, for instance, police <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/live/2020/protests-george-floyd-police-06-02?action=click&amp;module=Spotlight&amp;pgtype=Homepage#police-crack-down-after-curfew-in-the-bronxhe-bronx">started harassing teenagers as soon as the curfew hit</a>, making several arrests.Back in central Brooklyn, a group of protesters split from the crowd at Barclays and marched onto the Manhattan Bridge, evading a line of riot police by using an on-ramp, <a href="https://twitter.com/NoahHurowitz/status/1267978292734410752?s=20">according to Noah Hurowitz</a>, a reporter traveling with the group. The NYPD <a href="https://twitter.com/jhermann/status/1268226273094111240">reportedly told marchers</a> they would be allowed to exit the bridge on the Manhattan side, but when they arrived, they were confronted by a massive line of police and barricades halting their progress, citing the curfew. The confrontation touched off an hour-long standoff that attracted the attention of several elected representatives, including <a href="https://twitter.com/AOC/status/1268017382045495308?s=20">US Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez</a>. Meanwhile, De Blasio visited Barclays Center and declared that all was well.<div type="image" title="sparker" height="1600" width="2133" msid="76202109" hostid="261"></div> New York's curfews — like those leveled in Los Angeles and Washington DC — serve mostly to empower the police with a legal justification for making arrests. But they've also wreaked havoc on essential workers, who are technically exempt from the order but are <a href="https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/qj4bv7/poorly-designed-curfews-are-wreaking-havoc-on-cities">still being targeted by police action</a>. Protesters in large numbers will be largely left alone as long as they keep moving, like the column I followed on Monday night. But if they go through an exposed or isolated area, like crossing a bridge with only two exits, the NYPD has the ability to corral them off. After an hour of negotiating, the protesters on the bridge were allowed to cross back to Brooklyn and exit peacefully, but the NYPD's decision to block them from entering Manhattan clearly created many of the same risks as the confinement strategies on Friday and Saturday night did: too many angry people in a tight place and one side with all the weaponry.<div type="image" title="copsprotester" height="1600" width="2133" msid="76202112" hostid="261"></div> On Wednesday night, the police force kept the bridges locked down, but began to crack down even harder on smaller groups of protesters as larger marches broke down. Gothamist reported that <a href="https://gothamist.com/news/live-protest-updates-after-earlier-curfew-arrests-and-looting-decline">60 people were arrested</a> on the Upper East Side following a protest at Gracie Manor.At the corner of 50th St. and 3rd Ave., cops started picking off protesters clearly trying to disperse, assaulting one bicyclist with batons in a video captured by a driver stopped in traffic. That night, as his police force continued to round up protesters in central Brooklyn, de Blasio called in to a special roundtable on local station WBLS. "The curfew is working, in a lot of ways," de Blasio <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/03/nyregion/nyc-protests-george-floyd.html">said</a>. "So far it seems like it's having a calming impact, and it's allowing things to get back to a better place. However, the upper house of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, will debate this bill in its ongoing session. Ahead of the debate, protests have broken out in the north eastern state of Assam, where citizens alleged that the new bill violates the Assam Accord, 1985 — which led to deportation of illegal immigrants in the state regardless of their religion. The BJP has thought deeply about the Citizenship Amendment Bill before bringing it. We cannot leave a large swathe of people fleeing persecution hanging in mid-air. We believe that the Bill is necessary for the country,” he said.

Through the five years, AAP has worked for the development of Delhi. A major achievement of the party has been the development of the government schools in the national capital. The incumbent Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s manifesto promised Jan Lokpal 24X7 markets. Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party which is looking to come into power in the national capital had said in its manifesto that it will focus on solving the water crisis and air pollution problem. The national capital went to polls on February 8 for all of its 70 constituencies. The Bharatiya Janata Party, Aam Aadmi Party and the Indian National Congress are the main contenders for the majority number of seats in the Legislative Assembly. The voting started at 8 am and ended at 6 pm on February 8. The results will be out on February 11. As many as 1.46 crore are eligible to vote in this assembly election. There are over 672 candidates in the fray. As of 6 pm, the voter turnout stood at 53.51%. The voter turnout in 2016 Delhi Assembly elections stood at 67.13%. The Delhi elections has been in the election frenzy while protests against Citizenship Amendment Bill have also gripped the national capital. AAP has been campaigning for the elections with one message – to vote for education and development. Security forces have been kept on high alert in the national capital. Over 90,000 policemen were deployed at Delhi’s 13,750 polling stations. A statement from the election commission said, “Adequate night stay arrangements for polling staff on duty and due vigilance by expenditure observers needs to be stepped up and stringent action be taken so that electoral atmosphere is not vitiated.” The election commission has also launched a Booth app for faster voting process by scanning QR codes and will also give advance queue information to voters using Artificial Intelligence. New Delhi, Jan 4 () Tata Group firm Titan Company on Saturday said its sales in December were hit due to protests in the North East and other parts of the country.
"Sales in all divisions in the second half of December were also impacted to some extent due to forced store closures due to the protests in the North East and in
many other parts of the country," the company said in a filing to the BSE.
 Thousands of people held protests against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC) in various parts of the country.
The general economic slowdown in the economy leading to poor consumer sentiment and lower walk-ins has been a concern for the last few quarters, it said.
The company experienced different consumer responses in each of its divisions.
Retail sales in jewellery were better than expected at the beginning of the third quarter of FY'20, possibly due to a good wedding season and reasonable inelasticity of wedding jewellery, but growth in watches and eyewear were difficult to come by. 
In the jewellery segment, the company itself did better and market share gains were evident, the company statement said. 
"The division met its revised expectations for the quarter. While the revenue growth for quarter is 11 per cent, the retail growth was actually much better at 15 per cent," it said.
In the watch and wearables division, the growth for third quarter was flat compared to previous year. 
After witnessing two strong quarters, the eye wear division revenue grew by only two per cent, primarily led by heavy competitive activity, lower primary sales to trade channels and the disruption in the second half of december due to the nation-wide protests. SID MKJ
