New <keyword id="19900881" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="delhi" source="keywords">Delhi</keyword>, Traffic is likely to be affected at the Delhi-Noida border on Monday in view of a proposed tractor march of farmers to the national capital, officials said. Farmers have planned a protest march on tractors via the Yamuna Expressway, Luharli toll plaza and Mahamaya flyover on Monday. The Delhi Police has intensified checking at the border by putting up barricades. There was heavy traffic at the <keyword id="20509890" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="chilla" source="keywords">Chilla</keyword> border from Delhi towards Noida due to the checking. According to the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police, intensive checking will be conducted by the Delhi Police as well as the district police by installing barriers at all the border points between the national capital and Noida, and traffic will be diverted in accordance with the situation. The ongoing farmers' protest has also affected the traffic movement at the Singhu and <keyword id="20552952" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="tikri" source="keywords">Tikri</keyword> border points between Delhi and Haryana. On Saturday, the authorities partially reopened the Singhu and Tikri border points, almost two weeks after those were sealed in view of the farmers' "<keyword id="19933222" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="delhi-chalo" source="keywords">Delhi Chalo</keyword>" march. The two border points were sealed on February 13 as the protesting farmers from Punjab began their "Delhi Chalo" march to press the BJP-led Centre over their demands, including a minimum support price (MSP) for crops and farm loan waiver. Thousands of farmers have been camping on the Punjab-Haryana border near Ambala, about 200 kilometres from Delhi, after their march was thwarted by security personnel. Traffic likely to be hit at Delhi-Noida border in view of farmers' proposed tractor march

The Noida Police has launched a dedicated WhatsApp number, inviting suggestions from citizens for improving its services, officials said. The number -- 8800845816 -- should be used only for text messages and not phone calls, the police requested the public as it rolled out the service on Thursday. "People can use this helpline to inform the police about locations and spots where patrolling needs to be improved and make other suggestions like traffic issues also," the police said in a statement, hoping the feedback would help improve services. However, for emergency situations, the people should continue using the 112 number only, the police said. A team of officials has been constituted that would monitor WhatsApp messages and SMSes sent on this number and further action would be taken based on that, according to officials. The Uttar Pradesh government had on January 13 approved the commissionerate police system for Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida) along with Lucknow, the first two cities in the state to have such a system which gives more autonomy to the police and magisterial powers. Eventually the strength of the force also increased and currently the Noida Police has over 3,850 personnel and multiple IPS officers led by Commissioner Alok Singh, the officials said.

With the explosive growth of private vehicles, the traffic-related woes are worsening day by day. A day after the <keyword id="6506271" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Noida-traffic-police">Noida traffic Police</keyword> launched its <keyword id="2470192" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="WhatsApp-helpline">Whatsapp helpline</keyword> to bring in relief for Noidaites, it has received more than 300 complaints and suggestions on Tuesday. 

	The helpline is being monitored by R N Mishra, SP (traffic). He told the Times of India, "Some commuters informed us about a traffic jam at the Gijhor crossing in Sector 53. We also got messages about inoperative traffic signals in Sector 76-50. We sent our officials to ease the problem once we got the messages."
 One of the messages posted by a resident of the <keyword id="59754" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="traffic-police">traffic police</keyword> helpline requested for regulation of autos in the city. The message read, “People alight from the right side of the auto, which can be dangerous. The traffic police should ensure its enforcement.” 

	According to the news daily, enforcement officials said that they would classify messages into three categories - complaints, suggestions and comments – so that the problems are solved in the best possible manner.
 

	The SP (traffic) highlighted, "Issues like traffic jams and inoperative traffic lights will be addressed on a priority basis."
 With this initiative, it appears that <keyword id="2892639" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="traffic-related-problems">traffic-related problems</keyword> will no longer be a headache for Noidaites.

Noida Traffic Police’ Whatsapp helpline is a boon for daily
commuters

Gurugram, After farmers decided to intensify their agitation in support of their demands, Gurugram Police on Thursday beefed up security at several traffic junctions, toll plazas and Delhi-Haryana border areas in view of protesters' plan to block the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway during the week. "We have also beefed up security arrangements at border points in view of ongoing farmers' protests. We have issued an advisory to all officials concerned to take necessary precautionary measures in view of plans to block the expressway and toll plaza," ACP (Headquarters) Usha Kundu said. Police officials have been asked to intensify patrolling in all sensitive locations, especially in border areas and Kherki Daula toll plaza so as to prevent any untoward incident. While the farmers' protest continued for the 15th day on Thursday, <keyword id="3826242" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="gurugram-traffic-police">Gurugram Traffic Police</keyword> has issued a traffic advisory for crucial traffic points like Kapdiwas border, Bilaspur Chowk, Panchgaon Chowk, <keyword id="10408909" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="manesar-chowk">Manesar Chowk</keyword>, Kherki Daula toll plaza, <keyword id="6371658" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="hero-honda-chowk">Hero Honda Chowk</keyword>, Rajiv Chowk, and Shankar Chowk on the National Highway-48. The farmer's unions had said that after blocking the <keyword id="10347936" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="singhu">Singhu</keyword>, Tikri, Chilla and Ghazipur interstate border points connecting Delhi to Ambala, Hisar, Noida and Ghaziabad (both in Uttar Pradesh) respectively, they will block the Delhi-Jaipur highway or National Highway 48 that connects Delhi to Rajasthan via Haryana. The action will not only further disrupt Delhi's supply chains, but will also put pressure on commuters who may face huge traffic congestion on December 12. "The police has already tightened security and made appropriate arrangements to prevent any untoward incident. Also, nearly 2,000 police personnel have been deployed in sensitive locations in the district. The Gurugram police is also keeping in touch with counterparts in adjoining districts and state's police to monitor the movement of vehicles and people," Kundu added. The district police resumed on Thursday checking of suspicious vehicles. It also put up barricades on carriageway and state highways to check vehicles entering Gurugram district. A large number of security personnel, including senior police officers, were deployed in all sensitive locations. Police officials are visiting the toll plaza and border areas to take stock of the ground situation. "Amid the farmer's calls to block the expressway and Kherki Daula toll plaza, the Gurugram police is already on high alert. Security forces, including police personnel, rapid action force and others, have been deputed across the district," the ACP said.
