The invitation revealed different cards for each wedding function with one crafted from silver and resembling the main gate of an ancient temple. It included several keepsakes, such as an embroidered cloth with the initials 'AR' for Anant and Radhika, a blue shawl and a silver box filled with more gifts. The simplest invitation was in a laptop-sized box with silver statues of three Gods and invitation cards. The guests were asked to confirm their presence through an email or Google Form. Those confirming their presence received a message that read: "We have received your RSVP and we look forward to welcoming you... the QR codes will be shared 6 hours prior to the event." The QR codes messaged to the mobile phones and emailed were scanned to allow entry into the venue where different coloured paper wristbands were tied on the wrist of all the guests that gave them access to different zones depending on the colour. Several film stars and cricketers as well as business tycoons like Korean electronic giant Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong and his wife sported a pink wristband on their wedding day and a red one on Saturday. Employees, security and service staff wore different coloured wristbands. Ushers and a multi-layer security cover secured the sprawling venue, two sources aware of the matter said. Detailed fire and other emergency plans were worked out while an elaborate medical response preparedness resembled one reserved for heads of state. The medical response preparedness included doctors and paramedical staff with all emergency equipment at the venue. Ambulances had clearly demarcated routes to the nearest hospitals which had been primed in advance for dealing with any sort of medical emergency. "The Ambanis did not want to leave anything to chance," a source revealed. It is now the majority stakeholder alongside Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor and Bimal Parekh, who will own the remaining 35% of the Indian Super League (ISL) team. "With this tie-up, we hope to replicate what Manchester City has done in English Premier League and that is to win everything in front of us,” said Kapoor during the announcement. Manchester City has won six domestic league titles. The team’s most recent win — with Pep Guardiola at the helm — set the record for the most points won during a single season. It’s also the first time that a team has crossed the 100-mark barrier in the history of the league. In comparison, Mumbai City FC is yet to win its first title. Last season, the club finished fourth on the table — an improvement by two places over 2017.

 Not only has Machester City been playing well but they’re also bringing in the money. According to Forbes, it’s the world’s fifth most valuable club at $2.69 billion. Damian Willoughby will take on the role of CEO at CFG India to bring the same kind of success to Mumbai City FC. “It’s a landmark occasion that celebrates the remarkable rise of Indian football and brings to life our vision for the beautiful game in India,” stated Nita Ambani, chairperson of Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL).

A report from VCCEdge, the financial research platform of the VCCircle Network, has said that this year would see as many as 1,000 <keyword id="428085" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="start-ups">start-ups</keyword> being funded, however, the deal sizes would be much smaller if compared to the hyper funding that start-ups have received in recent years. 
 
The report says that the year has already seen 255 deals, and this rate hints that the number of start-ups being funded this year would reach the 1,000 mark. 
 
However, a look at the worth of this deals tell that the $301 million that start-ups have received so far this year have is 50% less than the funding received in the same period a year ago. 
 
"The deals data indicate that investors are clearly waiting on the sidelines by consolidating their existing portfolios and looking at only meaningful ones in those ventures with strong fundamentals and a good revenue earning model," Nita Kapoor, Head (India) New Ventures, News Corp, and CEO, The VCCircle Network, said. 
 
Kapoor also added that "the decline in series A deals or the first institutional level of venture funding for start-ups is particularly worrying, thereby making it essential for them adopt the strategy of 'Conserve and Grow'.

A recent report says 1,000 start-ups will be funded this year, but the deal size may drop

As per the report ‘<keyword id="3591500" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="VCCEdge-Start-up-Funding-Insights">VCCEdge Start-up Funding Insights</keyword>’ from <keyword id="3591499" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="News-Corp-VCCircle">News Corp VCCircle</keyword>, which focuses on the funding activity in the National Capital Region (NCR), NCR has witnessed 873 funding deals to the tune of $1,571 million of the total $6,721 million across 3,682 deals ever since 2011. This represents 24% of the total number of deals and 23% of the total deal value. 
 
Last year, however, was a landmark year registering a deal value of $608 million as compared to the $289 million in 2014, but at the going rate, looks like 2016 won’t be able to match this amount, let alone match last year’s performance. The number of deals also swelled 110%, going from 143 in 2014 to 300 in 2015. 
 
Talking of this year, 2016 has until now seen 155 deals worth $170 million, out of which the investment of $17.19 million made by Sequoia Capital India, Omidyar Network India, Maverick Capital, and HBM Partners in the Gurgaon based Healthcare Start-up, 1MG Technologies grabbed the top rank. 
 
On the other hand, online gaming company Gamooz Interactive Solutions’ funding to the tune of $15 million made by angel investors such as Taha Nabee, Anupam Gopal Mittal, Anand Kumar Ladsariya, Devesh Ghanshyam Chawla, Suneel Bandhu and Miten Mehta can be counted as the top Angel/Seed funding deal. 
 
Here are the segment-wise highlights since 2011: 
 
• Food-Tech got the maximum number of deals, having 50 investments worth $28 million 
 
• Travel-techn saw maximum fund flows, bringing in $80 million across 46 deals 
 
• Fin-Tech came second in terms of value and fourth in terms of number of deals, closing 34 investments amounting to $70 million 
 
• Edu-tech space attracted $36 million from 39 deals 
 
• Tech-enabled platforms across other segments such as advertising, real estate, health, and entertainment saw $55 million of funding from 73 deals 
 
However, there has been a fall in the pace of Series A rounds of investment and beyond, which is bound to affect start-ups in the “High-Growth-High-Burn” mode. 
 
“The question we need to ask is whether or not the current startup ecosystem in the region lacks enough high quality startups eligible for Series A &amp; beyond round of investments. The slowdown is attributed to investor pragmatism and selectiveness in funding enterprises that have business models that best optimize the funding they receive. Start-ups have to, perforce, ‘Conserve and Grow, or Perish’. The silver lining we at News Corp VCCircle see is the emergence of new investment vehicles such as venture debt besides a new genre of celebrity &amp; angel investors,” said Ms. Nita Kapoor, Head - India, New Ventures, News Corp and CEO, News Corp VCCircle.
