The race is between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress. Voting started at around 8:00 am and came to close at 6:00 pm on 8 February 2020. Out of the 14.69 lakh voters who were expected to cast their ballot during the Delhi’s Assembly Election 2020, the turnout stood at 55.17% at 6:30 pm. According to Neta App's NewX exit polls, AAP is poised to win the election. The result supports data from opinion polls from before the election that predicted a sweeping win for the party. During the last <keyword id="1077342" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Delhi-election">Delhi election</keyword> in 2015, AAP was able to garner 67 seats against the 53-57 seats Neta App predicts for it in 2020. Delhi Election: Exit poll result by Neta-NewsX

<img class="gwt-Image" src="/photo/35061938.cms" /> The <keyword id="43771" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Exit-polls">exit polls</keyword> conducted by various news channels have unanimously projected that NDA will get the magical figure of 272 or at least be in striking distance of forming the next government. 
 The exit polls also indicate that the <keyword id="14666" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="BJP">BJP</keyword> is all set to come up with its best ever performance. In contrast, the <keyword id="1575" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Congress">Congress</keyword> is headed towards its worst ever performance, with its total number of seats projected to be in the range of 100, as per the exit polls. 
 Four channels – <keyword id="2238539" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="NewsX">NewsX</keyword>, <keyword id="211456" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="India-TV">India TV</keyword>, <keyword id="1739243" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="ABP-News">ABP News</keyword> and <keyword id="60050" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="CNN-IBN">CNN-IBN</keyword> – have projected comfortable majority for the NDA. NewsX and India TV have projected 289 seats for the NDA while ABP News estimated that the NDA would capture 281 seats. However, Times Now was the most conservative in its projections, giving the NDA 249-265 <keyword id="6355187" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="Lok-Sabha">Lok Sabha</keyword> seats, while CNN-IBN gave it 279-282 seats. 
 
Hindi news channel News24 gave NDA a thumping majority and predicted it to bag 340 seats. On the other hand, Aaj Tak predicted the NDA figures in the range of 261-283. Even if the party gets 261, getting the support of 11 more MPs should not be too difficult, given the fact that the AIADMK chief Jayalalitha is said to be close to Narendra Modi and has extended her support to the coalition in the past during the tenure of the Vajpayee government. 
 
Most of the exit polls showed the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) getting between 101 and 148 seats. NewsX gave the UPA 101 seats, India TV 107 seats, ABP News 97 and CNN-IBN 92-102. 
 
‘Others’, including regional parties like the Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samajwadi Party, JD (U) and the Left Front, are estimated to get between 146 and 156 seats. 
 
The exit polls also forecast that the BJP would not be able to open its account in the southern states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. However, in the North, the Narendra Modi wave is projected to sweep away regional identity-based heavyweights like the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party in Uttar Pradesh, and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in Bihar. 
 
The BJP is likely have the biggest gains in Uttar Pradesh where two surveys expect it to bag 54 seats, just three less than its all-time high of 57 in 1998. Similarly, the exit polls ruled out the possibility of RJD’s revival. 
 
The debutant Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is projected to get an average of only five seats, with a total vote share of about 4%.

According to News18 mega exit poll, NDA is poised to win 355 to 370 seats, INDIA bloc 125 to 140 seats and others 42 to 52 seats. According to most exit polls, the BJP is expected to secure just over 300 seats independently. Most opposition leaders, however, rejected the exit polls predictions as unscientific and not a true reflection of the ground reality. "Most of the exit polls had predicted a victory for the BJP in the 2021 assembly elections. But we all know what the actual results were -- TMC won a two-thirds majority. We believe in people's polls, not opinion polls or exit polls. The TMC will win more than 30 Lok Sabha seats in the state," TMC party leader Santanu Sen claimed. Congress candidate from Gurdaspur Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said, "Whatever the exit polls say, INDIA alliance will form the government. The voters of the country have realised BJP's false promises and now their concern is how the country should move forward. The News24-Today's Chanakya exit poll forecasts the NDA winning 400 seats, with a margin of plus or minus 15 seats. The INDIA bloc is projected to obtain 107 seats with a margin of plus or minus 11 seats, while other parties are estimated to get 36 seats, plus or minus nine. The Times Now-ETG exit poll predicts the NDA will receive 358 seats, with the INDIA bloc securing 152 seats and others getting 33. Haryana assembly elections 2019: Exit polls predict big win for BJP

Former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav has won the elections from the Azamgarh lok sabha seat with a margin of more than 250,000 votes. Azam Khan has also defeated Jaya Prada from the Rampur seat by more than 100,000 votes. The Samajwadi party led by Akilesh Yadav faced the elections as part of the Mahagathbandhan involving SP, BSP and RLD. The exit poll results for the SP as per Axis IndiaToday-Axis MyIndia predict that the alliance made up by the three parties might win from 16 seats only. The Chanakya predictions for 2019 Lok Sabha seats presume only 2 seats for SP and its alliance. The other predictions for SP for the Lok Sabha elections 2019 include 17-19 by News18, 13 seats by India Today, 40 constituencies by CVoter and 41 seats by NewsX. The total number of parliamentary seats in UP is 80. In 2014 general elections for the parliament, SP got only 4 seats out of 80 from Uttar Pradesh. In 2009 elections, SP won from 22 constituencies. The winning statistics for SP during 2004 was 35 seats. In 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Akilesh Yadav is fighting from Azamgarh Lok Sabha seat. Dharmendra Yadav fights from Badaun, Devendra Yadav from Etah, and Mulayam Singh Yadav seeks election from Mainpuri Lok Sabha constituency. The other important candidates for SP in UP are Azam Khan from Rampur and S.T. Hassan from Moradabad Lok Sabha seat. SP has nominated Shafiq-ur-Rehman from Sambhal ruling out the speculations that the party might field Aparna Yadav from here. In Maharashtra, SP was interested to form an alliance with the Congress party. The Congress did not heed to the demands of SP for any one seat among Mumbai South, Mumbai South Central, Bhiwandi, Mumbai North West, or Mumbai North Central seats. Following that, SP entered into an alliance with the BSP and they both agreed upon the seat sharing formula at the rate of 4 seats for SP and 44 seats for BSP. In Maharashtra, SP contested from four seats namely Mumbai North West, Bhiwandi, Beed, and Nanded.

Many times, the Saffron party tried to steer the conversation away from development towards issues of nationalism.  AAP, on the other hand, hedged its bets. The party’s maintained its stance that citizens have a right to protest peacefully, and did not amp up its stance against the CAA. "The Delhi election is completely fought and voted on education and the work done on the ground. We are contesting this election on the work done by our government but the BJP wants to divert attention," Kejriwal told <a href="https://www.indiatoday.in/elections/delhi-assembly-polls-2020/story/arvind-kejriwal-interview-delhi-polls-caa-nrc-amit-shah-bjp-shaheen-bagh-1641344-2020-01-29">India Today.</a> AAP did point out how the protests are creating traffic issues, something that would strike a chord with car owners in Delhi, but did not harp on it for too long. “Shoot the traitors,” cried BJP When BJP’s Member of Parliament Anurag Thakur prodded people in his rally to “Goli maaro gaddaron ko” (shoot the traitors) — while referring to the protestors at Shaheen Bagh— it may have seemed like a low-hanging fruit for the AAP to capitalise on.

 Kejriwal could have called for Thakur’s prosecution for trying to incite violence in an election rally. That would have meant taking a clear side in a completely polarised debate. Instead, the Delhi chief minister played safe. He watched the Election Commission ban Thakur from campaigning for 48 hours and even though he did criticise it, he quickly returned to his own strength⁠— the improvement of Delhi schools and the proliferation of free local clinics for the poor across the city.  The Election Commission issued a show-cause notice to Kejriwal on February 8 addressing the “Hindu-Muslim” video. The video showed other parties talking on religious issues but Kejriwal focusing on development and women safety. According to the BJP, it has the potential of “aggravating existing differences”. The poll watchdog also said that Kejriwal’s remarks violated the Model Code of Conduct. Kejriwal did his bit to appease ‘Hindu’ voters While charging the BJP for ratcheting up the sentiments of Hindu fundamentalists, Kejriwal did his bit to woo the same voters. In a public event hosted by a TV channel, the Delhi Chief Minister started chanting Hanuman Chalisa, a prayer to the Hindu deity Hanuman, proving his religious affiliation and credentials to those who cared. If the average BJP supporter who is concerned about the “Hindu” cause— as sceptical as he may be of Kejriwal⁠— sat down to notice the chant, he had to hear the CM’s story of how the AAP government delivered on its promises in the last five years. In effect, he landed on a pitch meant for the BJP, albeit for a fleeting moment, but played to his own strengths to woo the BJP voter.

When the BJP tried to <a href="https://www.ndtv.com/india-news/delhi-assembly-elections-2020-after-arvind-kejriwals-hanuman-temple-visit-ugly-row-over-desecration-2176982">rake up a controversy</a> there, AAP was quick to criticise its rival for the “<a href="https://www.newindianexpress.com/cities/delhi/2020/feb/04/aap-seeks-fir-campaign-ban-on-bjp-leaders-over-calling-cm-arvind-kejriwal-terrorist-2098694.html">level of discourse</a>”. AAP had a sweeping win in 2015 during the last Delhi Assembly when they won in 67 out of Delhi’s 70 constituencies. This time around, their win may not be as big but Kejriwal’s second term in office is likely. Election strategy: AAP may win in Delhi by not falling for BJP’s traps

 <keyword id="433564" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Chinese-companies">Chinese companies</keyword> are already planning to invest around $32 billion in India, therefore nearly half the flows that the indian government is looking at are from China. This is also expected to slow down the massive flow of imports from the neighbouring country. 
 
One of the companies, the one that is on top of India’s list is Sany, with a possible investment of nearly $10 billion in the wind power space. Other than that, there are real estate and construction companies like Dalian Wanda Group, SAIC, Lifan Motors and Fosun Pharma.

Government to attract $62 billion investment from Indian and foreign companies

At the end of 2019, they announced a potential merger with Taboola, to ‘give advertisers a way to diversify away from Google and Facebook’, in the words of Taboola Founder and CEO Adam Singolda. Closer home, Outbrain launched Zemanta, the native Demand Side Platform (DSP) that it had acquired in 2017, in India. We recently caught up with Sandeep Balani, Head of India, Outbrain to understand some of the highlights of the year gone by, the growth drivers for Outbrain in India and some of the key areas of focus going ahead. Edited excerpts: Q) How is the Indian market shaping up for Outbrain? According to market research agency Kantar IMRB, India's internet users are expected to register double-digit growth to reach 627 million in 2019, primarily driven by rapid internet growth in rural areas. This opens up huge opportunities for publishers and advertisers as they are able to reach and engage with a far larger part of the country’s population via their digital channels. Our role in this is to provide the technology and strategic expertise for publishers and enabling them to reach, engage and retain audiences for their digital content while funding quality journalism. On the advertisers’ side, through our non-intrusive, and respectful ad formats powered by our proprietary interest data, we give them a scalable way to engage their audiences and drive a significant return on their advertising investments. Most recently we have signed partnerships with NewsX, DailyThanthi and OneIndia Group, allowing us to give even more reach than ever before to our advertising partners. Q) What are the key drivers for the growth Outbrain’s India business? Our Founder and CEO were recently quoted as saying, “In 5 or 10 years, we will see that the most successful media will be those that respected their users and offered trustworthy material.” I think this is the case in India too, and the most important shift we will see is a move from intrusive ad formats to move native ad formats. This will be further accelerated by the growth of programmatic native, which has a huge potential in India. The video will also play an important role in the growth of native. We are shifting from banner blindness to video blindness - after all, we are the generation X, ie, the generation that just can’t wait to click on the X. Opt-in video formats where the user chooses to engage such as our Click-to-Watch video solution will increasingly replace ad formats that interrupt the users’ experience. Q) A lot is being spoken about programmatic native. What's the scope? How does Zemanta fit into Outbrain’s overall programmatic offering? Recent reports have predicted that by 2025, native will reach its tipping point and be the preferred form of advertising. It only makes sense that Native Programmatic will follow suit. With 90% of the display being purchased programmatically already, native will follow that same trend. However most of the media buying tools used by marketers were made for a display world and are not optimal for native advertising, so we believe we are best positioned to help marketers execute more effectively and at a larger scale, on the most premium and brand-safe environment. We are committed to programmatic native through an earlier acquisition of Zemanta, the world’s first DSP built for native and the DSP of choice for agencies. In addition to that, Outbrain now has omnichannel support for advertisers who are looking to buy native via Digital Video 360, Appenexus, Tradesk etc. This gives advanced controls overbidding and campaign flight. Q) How will going the programmatic route help the native ecosystem grow? The native eco-system in India has primarily relied on direct relationships with advertisers and agencies. However many clients take time to embrace newer platforms and introduce them to their buying mix. With programmatic alignment with assorted DSP’s, advertisers can now buy Outbrain via different DSP’s which gives us access to unique budgets and get more advertisers to grow the native eco-system which eventually brings tremendous transparency, reach, and control to advertisers. Q) Going ahead, what will your area of focus be? We have received great response from the premium publishers due to the quality of ads, trustworthiness and the relationships we have built in the market for audience acquisition, engagement, and retention. Q) What will be the most important theme for the publishing and advertising industry in 2020? Trust! While some are betting on the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Narendra+Modi">Narendra Modi</a> led NDA party to form the government in majority, there are a few other polls that projected a clear win for <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Nitish+Kumar">Nitish </a><a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Nitish+Kumar">Kumar</a>-<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Lalu+Yadav">Lalu</a><a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Lalu+Yadav"> </a><a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Lalu+Yadav">Yadav</a>’s Maha Gathbandhan (grand alliance) of Rashtriya Janta Dal, Janata Dal (United) and Congress. 
 
For instance, Today's Chanakya-News24 has projected 155 seats out of 243 assembly seats for the NDA, thus giving it a majority. The poll has predicted the remaining 83 going to <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Nitish+Kumar">Nitish Kumar</a> and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Lalu+Yadav">Lalu </a><a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Lalu+Yadav">Yadav</a>’s grouping. 
 
On the other hand, Nielsen’s poll on ABP , CNX on NewsX has predicted victory for JDU-RJD-Congress grouping with 130 and 135 seats respectively. They expect NDA to get 108 and 95 seats respectively. 
 
Lastly, there are other exit polls such as CVoter on Times Now, Cicero on India Today and News Nation that have forecasted a close finish.

Bihar elections: Exit polls divided over results

The leopard was first seen at a timber warehouse in the city but was startled as crowds started to gather. 
It then ran into the Meerut Cantonment Hospital into a ward that contained three patients. The hospital is located in an army cantonment, and the leopard stayed inside a room till late on Sunday night.
Sanjiv Kumar of forest department <a href="http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/other-states/leopard-enters-meerut-hospital-sparks-panic/article5721849.ece">told The Hindu</a> that the leopard then jumped through glass panes and a concrete wall to escape. 
Leopard attacks have become common as India's burgeoning cities encroach on the natural habitat of leopards and other wild animals. It is believed that these animals come to cities in search of foods and prey on dogs and other animals as they lose their natural habitat.
Schools and colleges were closed. The Meerut leopard is believed to have attacked at least two people and is said to still be on the loose.
