<keyword id="6357478" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="kanpur" source="Orion">Kanpur</keyword> has reported one more case of <keyword id="3155474" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Zika-virus" source="Orion">Zika virus</keyword>, taking the tally to 11. Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kanpur, <keyword id="9582413" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Dr-Nepal-Singh" source="Orion">Dr Nepal Singh</keyword>, said that pathology samples of a 42-year-old woman from Shiv Katra, sent to the KGMU lab in Lucknow and National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune, tested positive for the virus on Monday. So far, 11 people, including three <keyword id="6355075" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="iaf" source="Orion">IAF</keyword> staff from in <keyword id="64342" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="chakeri" source="Orion">Chakeri</keyword> area, have tested positive for the infection. "The surveillance team took the sample of the woman, who is asymptomatic, and sent it for test. She has been kept under observation. Samples of her family members, relatives and people in contact will be collected on Tuesday. Anti-larva spray, cleaning and fogging will also be done by the surveillance teams in the area," said the CMO. In a statement, district magistrate Visakh G Iyer said that there is no need to panic. "Zika virus does not spread by contact or aerosols instead it is spread by the Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, which also causes dengue and chikungunya. It can easily be curtailed by strict surveillance and awareness," he said. Meanwhile, a house-to-house survey was conducted by 65 surveillance teams of health, civic, para-medical personnel and staff of local administration in the affected areas, including IAF station on Monday. The teams collected samples from across 12 localities spread in a radius of 3 km in Chakeri area. The teams also examined people having fever-like symptoms. Till date, 1,745 samples have been collected," said the CMO and added that "Our surveillance teams are also sensitising people about the hazard of stagnant water and asking them to empty pots, containers and tanks filled with water." Zika virus: Kanpur reports one more new case, taking the toll to 11 cases

Stepping up its relief and rescue efforts, India has evacuated 1,935 stranded Indians from earthquake-hit <keyword id="12266" type="COUNTRY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Nepal">Nepal</keyword>, even as a fresh feeble tremor today jolted the battered Himalayan nation. 
 The <keyword id="15141" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Indian-Air-Force">Indian Air Force</keyword> flew 12 sorties to bring back Indian nationals including many children. "Despite bad weather in Nepal, IAF continued its operation last night. As of now, IAF has evacuated 1,935 passengers from <keyword id="18568" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="kathmandu">Kathmandu</keyword> through 12 aircraft sorties," Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence, Sitanshu Kar said. 
 A top Indian official has described the situation in the Himalayan nation as "very, very serious", nearly 1,000 trained personnel of the National Disaster Response Force(NDRF) have been also pressed into service after Nepal was struck on Saturday by the worst <keyword id="6362774" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="earthquake">earthquake</keyword> in 80 years, killing thousands of people. 
 
"One C-17 of IAF landed at Palam from Kathmandu with 291 passengers on board at 0630 this morning," Kar said in a tweet. He said that an RATM (Rapid Action Medical Team) of Army was ready "with their medicines and equipment to set up first aid centre in Lagankhel, 08 km from airport in KTM." 
 
"Army teams to bring in persons who need assistance to the centre," he added. 
 
Braving rains, on third day, since the disaster struck, rescue teams continued to sift through mountains of rubble, looking for survivors. 
 
Kar in his tweet also said that "Feeble tremors continue to rock Nepal on Day 3."

He said a warrant officer in the Indian Air Force (IAF) was diagnosed with the infection on Saturday, the first in <keyword id="6357478" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="kanpur" source="Orion">Kanpur</keyword>. Chief Medical Officer Nepal Singh said that the IAF officer was suffering from fever for the past several days and was admitted to the <keyword id="374042" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="air-force-hospital" source="Orion">Air Force Hospital</keyword> in the district. Following mysterious symptoms in the case, the blood sample was collected and sent to Pune for proper examination which confirmed that the patient was <keyword id="3189910" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="zika" source="Orion">Zika</keyword> virus positive, he said, adding the report was received on Saturday. Twenty-two more samples of persons who came in contact with the patient and those who have the same symptoms have also been sent for examination, Singh said. Health and civic bodies' officials have been put on alert to deal with the situation. Besides, several teams have also been tasked to check the spread of the virus in the district, officials said.
