While cricketing sensation Kohli has the highest number of followers at 83.7 million, Bollywood queen Anushka boasts of the greatest engagement rate in the country, surpassing even PM Narendra Modi. Others on the list of top 10 Instagram influencers are Shraddha Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Neha Kakkar, Jaqueline Fernandez, Akshay Kumar, and Katrina Kaif. Amongst numerous noteworthy findings, the platform also found that a majority of the top 1000 influencers in India were women. In fact, women rule the top 1K Instagram influencers and beat men by almost 50% more in numbers. Further, the total unduplicated reach of all women Instagram influencers was found to be a whopping 1700 million, while that of men was 1200 million. While both men and women drive 82% quality engagement, men drive a slightly better engagement rate at 5% as compared to 4% for women. As women rule the roost as Instagram influencers in India, ClanConnect.ai delved deeper to find the top 10 female Instagram-stars of 2020. While Shraddha Kapoor bagged the title of most popular female Instagram Influencer with 57.2 million followers, Deepika Padukone followed close with 52.4 million. Neha Kakkar, betting big on her brilliant wedding Reels, posts and anthem, emerged as the fourth largest female Instagram Influencer in India. Again, Anushka Sharma drives the highest engagement at 6.7% with 3% being the average for the top 10 female Influencers. Cumulative reach for top 10 female influencers was clocked at 452 million, with the quality audience being 388 million at 84% average. In the male influencer category, Virat Kohli is much ahead of his counterparts on the top 10 list with a whopping 83.7 million followers. Surprisingly, however, he was thwarted in terms of engagement by MS Dhoni who boasts an engagement rate of 10.98% as opposed to Kohli’s 1.84%. With 50 million followers, PM Narendra Modi is the second most popular Instagram influencer in India, with Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan, Hrithik Roshan, MS Dhoni, Shahid Kapoor, and Kapil Sharma also topping the charts. It is worth noting that the top two male influencers do not hail from Bollywood. The platform also found that food influencers enjoy the highest quality engagement at 88% while education, finance, and career influencers cumulatively receive 85%. As far as the most engaging influencers are concerned, the list was topped by Ronit Ashra (32.92%), Dhanashree (24.69%), and Ratan Tata (22.83%). After Deepika Padukone, Rapper Raftaar also invests in learning community FrontRow

She told reporters that she would contest from the Baksha ward of the district and would be filing her nomination papers on Sunday. Jaunpur goes to polls on April 15 and the result would be announced on May 2 after four phases of polling. Diksha has already started campaigning in her ward. "I belong to the Chittori village in Jaunpur and I studied here till Class 3 after which my parents moved to Mumbai and then to Goa. I went to the MES College of Arts and Commerce, Zuarinagar, Goa, for my graduation, she said. In her second year in college, Diksha participated in the Femina Miss <keyword id="3658" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="India">India</keyword> pageant in 2015. She was one of the 21 finalists and also the winner of a sub-contest 'Miss Body Beautiful'. Diksha's apparently decided to contest the seat after it was declared reserved for women. Her father, Jitendra Singh, was keen to contest the <keyword id="49290" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="panchayat">Panchayat</keyword> polls. However, her family denies it. "It is her independent decision and is driven by her desire to serve her native place," said her father, who runs his business in Goa and Rajasthan. Diksha, meanwhile, said, "The lives of people has not improved over the years. My native place is still underdeveloped. Whenever I came here, I felt that the place was stuck somewhere in the 1990s. I intend to work for the people here and change the situation." Diksha, who has studied political science college, further said, "I have grown in this place which is like a scene from old classics such as 'Mother India' and 'Purab aur Paschim' where misery and poverty drive the way. Launched in 2007, JioSaavn has been witnessing good growth in terms of its subscription base. Over the years, it has tried its hand at various features to improve user experience and build differentiation in the category. Last year, during the lockdown, it launched a live concert IP, JioSaavn Anywhere, to bring artists closer to their fans. In November last year, with its launch of JioSaavn Plus, the platform claims to have catapulted itself into being one of ‘India’s top OTT subscription services’. Mihir Shah, Vice President of Consumer Revenue at JioSaavn claims that its paid loyalty base continues to grow at a triple digit growth rate year-on-year. In a recent conversation with Shah, we tried to understand how it is wooing more consumers and turning them into paid customers and what platform has to offer for marketers. Excerpts: Q) It’s been six months since the launch of JioSaavn Plus. How has the reception been so far? What kind of growth have you been witnessing? JioSaavn Pro is our marquee subscription product which offers the most features compared to any other music subscription service in the market today. JioSaavn Pro offers ad-free listening, downloads, high quality streaming, one-click JioTunes (caller tunes), exclusive rewards on music and lifestyle brands and exclusive content. We unbundled Pro into feature-based subscription packs under the JioSaavn Plus umbrella and today offer two variants of the pack - a subscription-only pack for ad-free streaming and another one only for unlimited JioTunes. The launch of Plus has catapulted us into one of India’s top OTT subscription services. We’ve seen significant growth in our subscriber base (JioSaavn Pro and JioSaavn Plus). Millions of users are purchasing a subscription and our paid-loyalty base continues to grow at a triple digit growth rate year on year. Over the course of the last year, we have seen tremendous growth in acquiring first-time paying subscribers, a significant spike in subscriber retention rates and healthy upgrade rates from Plus to Pro. Given our subscription plans are long-term duration (monthly, annual) we continue to maintain healthy ARPU rates. Q) What are the factors that have contributed to consumers subscribing to JioSaavn Plus over a few other subscription-based platforms in the segment? We’ve had a first-mover advantage in India starting out over a decade ago. JioSaavn has consistently built on our value propositions and customer-experience. We have thrived because we understand what our users want and the nuances of the marketplace. We introduced JioSaavn Plus in November of 2020 understanding the requirement of our paid-consumers and tailor-made the best plans for them. We made a conscious decision of launching feature-based subscriptions rather than duration-based subscriptions catering to the jobs-to-be-done in a customer’s life. Q) What are a few ways in which you are giving your consumers a differentiated experience? With JioSaavn Pro we’ve created value. We’ve built-in multi entertainment and lifestyle experiences with something for everyone. Innovation in the audio space has allowed us to stay current and ahead of the most established global and domestic players. Everything from our diverse content catalogue to our consumer-first product offerings has been the differentiator for us. What we’ve built is so much more than a music streaming platform. We’ve curated our experiences to foster and advance culture, creators and artists. With Jio’s extensive reach, a data-driven platform and original regional and language content diversity, we’ve evolved into tastemakers in the Indian audio industry. Q) Considering subscription would mean the platform is ad-free, how do brands stand to gain from investing on the platform? Depending on the context in which brands wish to reach out to our users, we offer multiple solutions to make that connection happen. JioSaavn has a well-stacked suite of ad experiences that span across multiple formats such as audio, display, and video. On the content front, we have seen an increasing influx of brands associating with us on playlists and podcasts in the form of curation or custom creation, as the experience enables them to tell a compelling story to our listeners. Apart from in-app media and content integrations, brand partnerships may also extend to off-line channels. For example, Nestle KitKat partnered with us to run a multi-channel activation which also included JioSaavn Pro branding on 25 Million KitKat packs and in-store promotions for a special co-branded offer. Brands also find value in being associated with our Pro Rewards product to engage with our subscriber audience base. Pro Rewards offers our premium subscribers offers and rewards on brands related to music and lifestyle. Brands like Puma, Flipkart, HealthifyMe, Tinder, Zomato, etc leverage Pro Rewards to reach out to our premium audiences by offering platform exclusives thus creating a win-win situation for both brands and our paid subscribers. On a product front, we also do strategic API integrations with brands where there are synergies between both products to offer the best experience to our customers. An example is our partnership with Triller. With the Triller integration we have expanded our short video catalogue which is an extension of our popular format - Shorties. The activation of our in-product integration has showcased a rise in Triller videos being consumed in Tier II and III markets across the country. Q) How are you wooing consumers from smaller cities to come on board as paying consumers? Given the host of features our subscription offers, we have something for every type of user. Some features may appeal more to a discerning user of music who cares about the best music listening experience while some features may appeal more to a user who is looking for a more tangible/quantifiable experience from their music streaming platform. These users can be in Tier I, II or III towns, it doesn’t matter where they are. What matters is what value they are seeking from our platform. Q) What are your strategies towards converting people already using your platform to paid users? We feel confident that we know what the Indian consumer cares about when paying for a subscription and it is this deep-rooted customer knowledge that forms the basis of anything we do to convert our free users into paid users. Based on insights from our users, we recently launched Pro Academy where our Pro subscribers can invest more time in their passion by learning from their favorite celebrities. With Pro Academy, customers can learn from celebrities like Shaan, Neha Kakkar, Ranveer Brar and Dabboo Ratnani, among others. We will continue to build unique product experiences for our subscribers, focus on penetration of our feature-based subscription packs, invest into our content catalog backed by data and make our communication more intelligent and timely to our highly engaged audiences. Q) How have you marketed the offering so far? How have you been communicating with your consumers? On the platform, we leverage our suite of ad products like audio and display to continue to drive awareness of our subscription products. Off platform, we cast a wide net with social media and digital touch points and influencers and partner tie ups. Q) What was the thought behind shifting from live/ticketing access to consumer offers? During the pandemic, live concerts and performances came to a halt. But users’ need to connect with artists and feel their music continue on. We saw a need gap and decided to launch Live concerts for Pro subscribers. Since April of 2020, we have hosted multiple Pro only live events with artists like B Praak, Amaal Mallik, Zaeden, Ritwiz, Tienas and Madboy Mink and will continue to invest in this space featuring both mainstream and independent artists. We will focus on both live shows as well as consumer offers relevant to music and lifestyle as that’s a big part of our growth strategy. Q) What is your target revenue/growth target for this financial year? We are going to continue our growth trajectory and we see ourselves on path to triple digit growth rates year on year.

The key to the platform's growth here has been keeping its community of content creators and businesses at the center of everything they do.</li><li><keyword id="2799363" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sandeep-Bhushan">Sandeep Bhushan</keyword>, Director &amp; Head of GMS, Facebook India walks us through Instagram's India journey and what lies ahead.</li></ul>Instagram, Facebook’s photo and video sharing social networking platform has come a long way since its launch in 2010. It recently celebrated its 10th anniversary and it has transformed many lives across the world. It has given creators a platform to express themselves and build a career while they are at it, has helped small businesses expand their reach and has also become an <keyword id="10299600" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="effective-marketing-tool">effective marketing tool</keyword>. Over the years, it been able to build a loyal user base in the country (according to data from eMarketer, Instagram has around 91.9 million users in India, set to grow to about 142 million users by 2024). Today, Instagram is an important part of a marketers digital media mix. India is an important market for the platform. India was one of the first few countries where the platform tested Reels and also the first country where they launched the Reels tab. It is therefore not surprising that the platform has ambitious plans for the market. We recently caught up with Sandeep Bhushan, Director &amp; Head of GMS, Facebook India, who walked us through Instagram’s India journey and what lies ahead. Excerpts: Q) Tell us a bit about Instagram's 10-year journey in India. Why is India an important market for the platform? We’re excited about India because of its young demographic, vibrant culture and its roots in open expression. India was one of the first few countries we tested Reels in and recently the first country where we launched the Reels tab, which showcases the creativity and value we’re seeing here. Instagram has been an amazing way to discover ‘Incredible India’ and beyond. It’s a place where public figures show up m<a name="_GoBack"></a>ost authentically. The community has used the platform to connect back with traditions, be it yoga or vintage jewelry and start new ones like ‘freak shakes’ and IPL. This pursuit of passions on the platform has also acted as a springboard for successes for large and small businesses, from Mondelez to Wingreens Farms. Q) What would you say have Instagram's biggest highlights in India been so far? The community is at the heart of Instagram and it’s they who make the platform unique. They pursue their passions on the platform, and express themselves freely. Creators and businesses are at the forefront of pushing culture and creativity forward on the app. This enables brands to express and connect authentically with the right audiences. Brands now make use of Instagram surfaces and ad tools to drive business. There are a slew of examples, be it Hyundai Aura that launched with influencers and saw a 5 point lift in awareness or a 2.3 point increase in purchase intent for Cadbury Cocoa or Puma India doing fantastic creative execution at the awareness stage. Q) Instagram recently launched <keyword id="10299599" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="the-love-runs-deep">the Love Runs Deep</keyword> campaign. Tell us what the thought behind it was and what exactly do you want to achieve through the campaign? Businesses are on Instagram because the platform drives business outcomes. Instagram is the place where people express themselves creatively, and there’s a natural affinity to interact with public figures, creators and brands. We want to further spur this interaction between creators and brands, in a way that redefines the ecosystem, and allows stories to be told with greater business impact. This is the context and objective for ‘Love Runs Deep’, Instagram's first campaign in India aimed at marketers and advertisers. As part of the campaign, brands are invited to submit their briefs in the ‘Love Runs Deep challenge’, and 5 of them will be chosen to have exclusive access to 25 creators to work with them free of cost, in addition to support of USD25,000 worth of ad credits to run their campaigns. The brands could be from across India and from big or small businesses. Q) It's been a few months since the launch of Reels. If you were to give us a report card for Reels so far, how would you rate its uptake in India so far? We’re excited by what the community in India is creating on Reels and there are a few trends we’re seeing already. <ul><li>One, discovery through Reels is driving strong growth for creators. The fastest-growing creators on reels include JaydeepGohil (@hydroman_333), who claims to be India’s first underwater dancer, and Surabhi and Samriddhi Mehra aka ChinkiMinki.</li><li>Two, similar to IGTV, we’re starting to see episodic content surfacing on Reels. Creators like Komal Pandey and Sakshi Sidhwani are running a series called ‘Vibe Check’ and ‘Breaking fashion stereotypes’ respectively.</li><li>Three, new music is finding a place in popular culture, by being available on Reels. 2 out of 5 songs shared most globally, on Reels, are from Indian artists. Neha Kakkar’s latest ‘Nahu da Vyah’ is a great example, as there have been 250k+ reels created with her song already.</li><li>Four, brands beginning to use Reels as part of their digital engagement strategy - Mountain Dew India created an anthem song for Independence Day called "DarrKeAageJeet Hai", sung by Sukhwinder Singh, and <a href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/CD39JhBJRW9/?igshid=1gnqp9sdmjjke">uploaded it on Reels</a>.</li></ul>Q) With lots of lookalike home-grown platforms coming up in the short video format segment, what will your strategies be to stay ahead of the curve? How are you engaging with the influencer community and ensuring they get the best out of using your platform - both Instagram in general but also Reels? With Reels, we hope to give people a new way to entertain or express themselves (in addition to Feed, Live, Stories, IGTV, Reels), on Instagram. No two services are the same, and this responsiveness to consumer demand is competition at work and one of the longtime hallmarks of the tech sector. It increases choice, which is good for people. We think we can make Reels in a way that’s unique to Instagram, and meets the demands of our community. Q) While most big brands know the reach of Instagram, how are you engaging with the smaller businesses and encouraging them to come onto your platform and advertise? Instagram is a vibrant community of people, creators and businesses that helps energize brands of all sizes. The platform can help businesses stay relevant and keep giving people the things they love in this uncertain time. That means bringing communities together in the moment, offering further ways to shop online instead of in-store, and providing a place to educate and entertain customers with interactive video experiences. Recently, as a part of Instagram’s recent ‘Love Runs Deep’ campaign, we announced a unique partnership with actor Kareena Kapoor Khan, to engage with her thriving Instagram community and support small businesses in the country. The actor is passionate about gardening and through this partnership she is supporting an Ahmedabad-based small business, <a href="https://mybageecha.com/">myBageecha</a>, while encouraging others also to discover and support a small business of their choice. <keyword id="10230686" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="mybageecha">MyBageecha</keyword> has been using Instagram to reach its audience organically, as well as through sponsored ads. It accredits a 3x growth in their sales after setting up their Instagram account and starting advertising on the platform. In the same way we are trying to help and support other small businesses to find their voice on Instagram. Q) What is your strategy to further grow your revenue from advertising? When advertisers invest on Insta, what is it exactly that they are looking for and what are they getting from the platform? Instagram is the home for passions, for genres that are mainstream like food and travel, and to those that are niche, like doodling and sustainable fashion. It is for this reason that Instagram has always given a voice to a new set of creators and Instagram-first businesses, who’ve embraced the platform in creative ways. This is also why 90% of people on Instagram follow a business and why so many creators and businesses are at the forefront of pushing culture and creativity forward on the platform. Branded content is thus a huge opportunity for brands who can engage with the creator community, in a way that fulfils their business objectives. Branded content ads help here, as it gives advertisers the ability to promote creators' organic branded content posts as feed and stories ads, thereby reaching new audiences and measuring impact. Q) With so much negativity on almost all social media platforms, how are you working towards making Instagram a less toxic medium? Our community is the heart of Instagram, and we’re focused on keeping people safe and building new features that <a href="https://about.instagram.com/blog/announcements/national-bullying-prevention-month">fight bullying</a>, improve equity and help people feel supported. In the last few months itself, we’ve launched new features to manage unwanted interactions, highlight positive comments and choose who can tag or mention We’ve introduced new controls for creators to manage who can message or add them to groups in Instagram Direct. We’ve also announced stricter action on abusive behaviour. We partnered with CBSE for a curriculum that includes an Instagram’ guide for building healthy digital habits. Additionally, to inspire conversations among youth all across India and initiate positive online dialogue, we also run programs like the ‘Counter Speech Fellowship’ and ‘366 days of kindness’, with the Young Leaders for Active Citizenship (YLAC) and Yuvaa respectively. Q) Where will Instagram's next phase of growth in India come from? We will continue to build for the next generation of young people and creators to ensure that Instagram is the place where culture moves forward.
