 All <keyword id="3267622" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Akash-Neeraj-Mittal">Akash Neeraj Mittal</keyword>, a 6-pointer wanted was to work with <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=flipkart">Flipkart</a> as its <keyword id="36026" type="POSITION" weightage="100" keywordseo="product-manager">Product Manager</keyword> but the only question was- why should Flipkart hire him? 
 
And, after a stroke of genius- he gave them a reason. 
 
Using Flipkart’s standard template, Mittal created a resume which included putting himself up for sale on the website, along with including features, product Specifications, dimensions and details of his education and achievements. To make his resume all the more authentic, he included reviews, as well. Basically, all the information anyone would require incase they were in the mood to buy the product-him, in this case! 
 
 
And, guess what? Mittal is also a published author. 
 
Explaining what made him take this unusual step, Mittal said, "When you are a 6-pointer and competing with best of the best minds of the country, you know how hard it is to land a job. You start doing some crazy and random stuff to stand out from the crowd. This is my resume for Flipkart's APM Profile. I didn't get an interview call though, but I hope it will bring a smile on someone's face."

After 2G and 3G, the people of India (at least in the metros) are waiting for 4G services to begin. We had reported that <keyword id="6354504" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Reliance-Jio">Reliance JIO</keyword> will bring the 4G services in early 2015. The date has been set and in March next year we will see Reliance JIO rolling out the fast speed mobile internet in India. 
 According to an ET report, the company is also looking to hire a man power of 3,000 people at state level, to manage and expand the retail and distribution 4G Business. They already have two ex-Google honchos, <keyword id="1817168" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Neeraj-Bansal">Neeraj Bansal</keyword> and <keyword id="1262497" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Nikhil-Rungta">Nikhil Rungta</keyword> for this initiative. 
 Reliance has already spent a huge sum on the Indian 4G-LTE setup. Rs 70,000 crores have been disbursed on it, which includes a sum of Rs 24,000 crores on airwaves. Reliance has revolutionised the mobile and telecom industry in the past with cheap offerings and now they are trying to take it to the next level. They have operating license in all 22 circles (2,300 Mhz) in India that gives them the edge over any other service provider like <keyword id="15491" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Airtel">Airtel</keyword> or <keyword id="15492" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vodafone">Vodafone</keyword> in the country. 
 With the launch these services, price of 3G facilities are expected to come down by a lot and people can opt for 4G packages at the current price of 3G (or slightly higher). The consumers will be able to watch HD videos, play multi-player games and more with ease on mobiles or tablets. Word from other Indian telecom service providers is yet to come. <ul><li>The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has today approved <keyword id="6189412" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="groww" source="Orion">Groww</keyword>’s acquisition of <keyword id="2693039" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="indiabulls-amc" source="Orion">Indiabulls AMC</keyword>.</li><li>Reportedly, Groww has acquired the <keyword id="6354820" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="mutual-fund" source="Orion">mutual fund</keyword> business for ₹175 crore.</li><li>The 5-year-old startup Groww is a stock broker and a registered mutual fund distributor with AMFI.</li></ul>The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved Nextbillion Technology’s -- the parent of Groww -- acquisition of Indiabulls AMC. The mutual fund (MF) segment seems to be a lucrative opportunity for new age fintech startups in the country. Recently, investment platform <keyword id="759851" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="zerodha" source="Orion">Zerodha</keyword> had also received an approval from India’s market regulator to enter the mutual fund business. The announcement comes months after markets regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) had allowed digital finance platforms to enter the mutual funds business and Groww has become the first fintech to enter the asset management space. Bengaluru-based Groww is a stockbroking startup founded by former Flipkart employees – Lalit Keshre, Harsh Jain, Neeraj Singh, and Ishan Bansal. <a href="https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/markets/stocks/news/groww-to-acquire-indiabulls-mf-for-rs-175-crore/articleshow/82545180.cms">Reportedly</a>, the digital platform bought Indiabulls AMC for ₹175 crore. Indiabulls AMC is one of the smallest mutual fund companies with an average assets under management (AUM) of ₹631 crore in a ₹36 trillion MF industry. It has 11 schemes across equity, debt and hybrid categories. Schemes of the mutual fund business are averagely rated due to its performance. So, it needs to be seen how Groww can transform the MF business. Landmark moment for this Rajinikanth fan’s SaaS startup on listing at US exchange

New Delhi, Apr 14 () Donation platform GiveIndia on Tuesday said it has launched the 'India COVID Response Fund' (ICRF) with initial donations worth Rs 75 crore to support the on-ground COVID relief efforts being carried out by its network of verified non-profits.Some of the early donors to the fund include the Bill &amp; Melinda Gates Foundation, Google.org, HSBC India, Omidyar Network India, UBS Optimus Foundation, Marico, Uber India (through Uber Care driver fund), Binny Bansal and A.T.E. Remember the ransomware WannaCry that hit the globe last month? Well, a new ransomware has yet again hit several countries, locking up computer screens of as many as 20 companies across the world. <keyword id="4701507" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Petwrap">Petwrap</keyword>, dubbed as an advanced version of ransomware <keyword id="3305248" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="petya">Petya</keyword>, has targeted users across India and Europe and shipping, aviation and oil and gas companies have been hit in the UK, Russia, France, Spain and elsewhere. Petwrap is believed to be asking for $300 to free up the locked computer screens. Mondelez, Merck and Maersk were targeted by the ransomware. As per several reports, Indian units of UK and Russia-based oil and gas, energy and aviation companies were also hit. A Mondelez International spokesperson said, "The network is experiencing global IT outage. Our team is working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible." Meanwhile, Neeraj Bansal, deputy chairman of the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust said the operations at Gateway Terminals India, operated by Maersk Group-owned APM Terminals at the Mumbai-based port, has been impacted. "They are trying to do what they can manually. They have told us assessing the situation and trying to find a solution as soon as they can," Bansal told ET.

However, he chose two <keyword id="982553" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Indian-startups">Indian startups</keyword>, and would now mentor taxi-hailing app <keyword id="6354720" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ola">Ola</keyword> and music-streaming company <keyword id="2060236" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Saavn">Saavn</keyword>. 
 
Sarin is not only signed on as an adviser for these two companies, but has also invested undisclosed amounts in them. 
 
"It's a huge trend. Everybody wants to be associated with a startup at this point, especially those that are changing the rules," Sunit Mehra, managing partner of Hunt Partners India, which is an executive search firm, told ET. 
 
In the recent past, leading Indian startups like Flipkart, Paytm, Snapdeal and Urban Ladder have attracted big names from the corporate sector and have succeeded. They now have big names that advise and mentor them, and continue to raise billions of dollars in funding. 
 
Snapdeal founders, Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal, have Akhil Gupta, who is the VC of Bharti Enterprises and executive chairman of Bharti Infratel. Similarly, Paytm, led by Vijay Shekhar Sharma recently added Neeraj Arora, WhatsApp's global business head, and Ruchi Sanghvi, former VP (Operations) at Dropbox, into its board. 
 
However, for many startup founders, it’s not only about adding glittering names to the board, but also about the connections and advices on strategy that these names carry with themselves. 
 
Decades of managerial and troubleshooting experience comes handy for startup founders, who get benefit while entering new categories and geographies and managing cash and investor relations.

Individual divisions began announcing newly promoted MDs last Friday, including <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/citigroup-announces-137-new-managing-directors-in-trading-dealmaking-2019-12">137 in the firm's Institutional Clients Group</a>, which houses its dealmaking and sales and trading teams, and 25 in its Global Consumer bank. Another 58 promotions came in other areas of the firm, such as risk management, legal, and HR.Women represented 28% of the promotions, up from 25% last year. "This well-deserved honor is a significant career milestone for these individuals, and we can all take pride in their contributions to our firm. Please join me in congratulating them," Corbat wrote in the memo, which was reviewed by Business Insider.A company spokeswoman confirmed the contents of the memo.In November, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/goldman-sachs-announces-2019-managing-director-promotions-class-2019-11">Goldman Sachs announced</a> a class of 465 new managing directors, of which 29% were women. Reports of a gruesome sexual assault of a 5-year-old girl have <a href="http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2013/04/21/178278020/outrage-erupts-in-india-over-5-year-old-girls-rape">sparked</a> heated protests directed toward <keyword id="11098" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="police">police</keyword> and government in <keyword id="3658" type="COUNTRY" weightage="60" keywordseo="India">India</keyword>'s capital of New Delhi.
Last Monday the 5-year-old girl went missing in East Delhi after going out to play. On Wednesday the child's family found her bleeding and brutalized in a locked room in the same building where the girl lived. Doctors found a glass bottle and pieces of a candle forced into her private parts.
"This is the first time I have seen such barbarism," R.K. Bansal, the medical superintendent of Swami Dayanand Hospital, said in a televised interview, noting that the girl's <a href="http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2013/04/21/5-year-old-rape-india/2101413/">condition</a> has stabilized and she's responding to treatment.
The child's parents said they repeatedly begged police to register a complaint and begin a search after their daughter disappeared, but they were rejected. After finding the girl, the parents said they were offered 2,000 rupees ($37) to keep quiet about what had happened.
“They just wanted us to go away," the girl’s father <a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/asia_pacific/kidnapping-rape-of-5-year-old-girl-highlights-police-apathy-to-indias-missing-children/2013/04/22/28d3def8-ab38-11e2-9493-2ff3bf26c4b4_story.html">told The Associated Press</a>. "They didn’t want to register a case even after they saw how badly our daughter was injured.”

Two men have now been <a href="http://news.yahoo.com/2nd-man-arrested-rape-5-old-indian-girl-055919487.html">arrested</a> in the case. For the last three days protestors gathered at various official buildings in Delhi to protests the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/delhi-gang-rape-friend-breaks-silence-2013-1">poor response to sexual violence</a> by police and the government.
The AP notes that more than 90,000 children go missing in India each year and more than 34,000 are never found. The protests also include recurring anger from a <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/gang-rape-victim-in-india-has-died-2012-12">fatal gang rape</a> of an Indian woman in December and the <keyword id="39493" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Rape">rape</keyword> of a <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/swiss-tourist-gang-raped-on-bike-trip-in-india-2013-3">Swiss tourist</a> in March.
"We are angry ... Every four hours, news is coming that there is a rape," a 34-year-old businessman <a href="http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2013/04/21/178278020/outrage-erupts-in-india-over-5-year-old-girls-rape">told NPR</a>. "This kills our souls. We also have daughters 4 and 5 years old ... Neither the police commissioner nor the Home Ministry has any effect ... For how long are they going to make fools of the people?"

On Monday Delhi’s Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar said that local police screwed up in their handling the case and the station house office rand his deputy have been suspended.
“The government is just not ready to confront the issue of trafficking or missing children," Bhuwan Ribhu, a lawyer with the Save the Childhood Movement, told the AP. "And this gets reflected in the apathy of the police in dealing with cases of missing children."
The Save the Childhood Movement contends that authorities have not cracked one of the more than 815 criminal gangs that the Central Bureau of Investigation said in 2006 were kidnapping children for begging, prostitution, or ransom.
Numerous parents of victims have claimed the police have done little to help and often treated the cases as nuisances unless they are bribed.
“If I were rich, my son would have been found by now," a man whose 12-year-old son was kidnapped three years ago. "If I had money, the police would have taken the case more seriously.”
