The statement from Kaskar referred to some land dealings, as a result of which summons were issued to him, sources said. The ED on Friday had arrested Dawood's brother Iqbal Kaskar. ED arrests Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik in tainted land deal

Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar lives in Pakistan's Karachi and has married a Pathan woman while still being married to his first wife Mizabin Alishah <keyword id="322820" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="parkar" source="Orion">Parkar</keyword>, the son of <keyword id="586210" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="haseena-parkar" source="Orion">Haseena Parkar</keyword>, and nephew of the underworld don has told the National Investigation Agency (NIA). His first wife is aware of the second marriage and keeps in touch with the two through different apps, he added. This claim has been made by the NIA in its charge sheet filed in connection with a terror case lodged against Dawood, NCP leader <keyword id="6605138" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="nawab" source="Orion">Nawab</keyword> Malik and others, including Parker. Earlier, Parkar had claimed that he wasn't in touch with the don. The charge sheet reads that Dawood, after leaving India, had been operating his gang through Chotta Shakeel, Anees Ibrahim Sheikh, Javed Chikna, Tiger Memon, Iqbal Mirchi and Haseena Parkar. NIA has alleged in the case that the accused usurped a property (Goawalla compound) worth Rs 11.28 crore along with Nawab Malik in connivance with D-Gang. "<keyword id="17811" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="mallik" source="Orion">Mallik</keyword> and Haseena Parkar eyed the Goawalla compound, and Mallik made inroads into the property by illegally occupying Kurla General stores, which was later regularised in the name of his brother Aslam Mallik. He, later on, took over Solidus investment, which had a shed in that property. Salim Patel worked at the behest of Haseena Parkar and acquired power of attorney from Munira Plumber, the actual owner of the land, to clear encroachments. "Eventually, Haseena Parkar was controlling half the property and <keyword id="1612673" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="nawab-mallik" source="Orion">Nawab Mallik</keyword> the other half. Later Nawab Mallik took over the remaining property from Haseena Parkar, which is proceeds of crime," read the charge sheet. It has been alleged that the proceeds of crime are controlled through two companies Solidus and Mallik infrastructure, the directors of which are Nawab Mallik, Mallik's wife Mehjabeen and sons Faraz and Aamir. Commercial, agricultural and residential properties related to Nawab Mallik had been provisionally attached by the ED. Haseena Parkar also transferred her interest in the property held through Salim Patel for the beneficial interests of Nawab Malik and Nawab Malik paid a substantial amount (Rs 55 lakh) to Haseena Parker, in cash. In 2005-06, Aslam Malik, along with Faraz Malik, met Salim Patel and Haseena Parkar for dealings of the Goawalla compound. Aslam had mentioned to Parkar that he was handing over Rs 55 lakh (in cheque) and Rs 5 lakh (in cash) to Parkar. Haseena Parkar's son Alishah Parkar confirmed that Salim Patel, who used to work for Haseena, used to handle the Goawala compound dispute and that Mallik took over the property from them. Sardar Khan, an accused in the 1993 blast case, would stay at the Goawala compound and Mallik knew about him. Salim Patel was a member of NCP and would work for Haseena Parkar, he was also associated with Nawab Mallik. Haseena Parkar, Salim Patel and Nawab Mallik indulged in a criminal conspiracy to grab 3-acre land of the Goawala compound. Sardar Khan was involved in property and used to work for Nawab Mallik after the property was usurped. Nawab Mallik and Haseena Parkar got into a criminal conspiracy and Nawab paid Rs 55 lakh to Parkar, of which Rs 5 lakh in cash and cheque were paid respectively by Faraz and Aslam Mallik to Parkar and Rs 15 lakh to Salim Patel and Rs 5 lakh to Sardar Khan. Solidus paid Rs 20 lakh as the registry rate when the actual rate was Rs 3.54 crore. Nawab Mallik introduced fake tenants to lower registry value. Faraz was summoned five times, Mehjabeen twice, and Aamir thrice, by the investigating agencies but none of them appeared. Government offices will be allowed to function only at 50 per cent of their capacity," he said. Industries and production sector, vegetable markets will function with Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) and construction sites will operate if there is accommodation facility for workers, he added. Theatres, drama theatres will be shut, while film and television shootings will continue if there is no crowding. Parks and playgrounds will also be closed, he said. Religious places will have to follow the SoPs, Malik said, adding that that public transport system will remain functional. Mumbai city guardian minister Aslam Shaikh told reporters that work from home will be encouraged for offices, except for insurance, mediclaim, electricity and civic offices. Essential services have been exempted from the existing night curfew, he said. "It is clear that the Centre will not provide vaccination for the people below the age of 45 years, which will be done by states," he said. Citing manufacturers of vaccines, the minister said Covishield vaccine will be available to the Centre at ₹ 150 per injection, while the rate fixed for state government is ₹ 400 per dose and for private hospitals ₹ 600 per dose. Free vaccination for citizens above 18 years in Maharashtra, says state minister

The witness, Prabhakar Sail, openly stated on various TV channels that he feared a threat to his life from none other than the NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede. Sail, identified as the personal bodyguard of the so-called private detective Kiran P. Gosavi, has released a signed affidavit statement and videos pertaining to the arrest of Aryan Khan and others on October 3, a day after the ship raid (October 2). One of the 9 witnesses listed by the NCB, among other things, Sail claimed that he was made to sign 10 blank papers by the agency and now feared for his life from Wankhede. In the affidavit, Sail has contended that he "overheard" Gosavi and Sam D'Souza discuss a deal of Rs 24 crore which they "settled" for Rs 18 crore, of which Rs 8 crore would got to Wankhede. He said that he saw SRK's manager, Pooja Dadlani arrive at the NCB office after Aryan Khan's arrest and also witnessed her talking with Gosavi and D'Souza inside her vehicle. Sail alleged that Gosavi directed him to collect Rs 50 lakh cash from a spot near the Indiana Hotel and asked him to give the bags to D'Souza near the Trident Hotel where he counted it to find Rs 38 lakh cash. Reacting to the allegations, NCB Deputy Director-General, South West Region Mutha Ashok Jain said that Wankhede has "categorically denied" the allegations. "As some of the contents of the affidavit relate to vigilance matters, I am hereby forwarding the affidavit to the Director General, NCB and requesting him for further necessary action," Jain said. Simultaneously, chiding Sail, Jain said that since he is a witness in the case which is now sub-judice, "he needs to submit his prayer to the honourable court rather than through social media if he has anything to say". He also said that Sail has given details about his movements and activities on October 2 (on the day of the ship raid), and "vigilance related allegations against certain persons in the affidavit which are based on overhearing" by the witness. In the affidavit, Sail stated that Gosavi is missing and feared that the NCB officials or other people may abduct or kill him. Gosavi, who is facing several cases, shot to focus earlier this month when Nationalist Congress Party national spokesperson and Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik made a series of exposes involving him (Gosavi) and other BJP-linked persons like Manish Bhanushali, in the NCB raids. Aryan Khan case: Witness claims NCB allegedly demanded bribe from Shah Rukh Khan to release his son

Jaipur, April 25 (IANS) Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Sunday announced free vaccination for people above 18 years of age in the state for the next vaccination round which starts from May 1. "Rajasthan govt has decided to vaccinate its young population of over 18 year free of cost. The state will bear the expense of Rs 3000 crore on this drive," he said in a tweet. Gehlot also said that it would have been better had the Central government borne the expense of vaccination of 18 years plus group the way it was doing for those over 45. The state's budget would not have been disturbed, he added. The state government, like other opposition ruled states, was also in a face-off with Centre over the vaccine pricing issue, asking it to bear the expenses of the drive. Mumbai, May 8 () A panel of experts formed tosuggest ways to bring back on track Maharashtra's economy hitby the COVID-19 crisis and the resultant lockdown submittedits report to the cabinet subcommittee headed by Deputy ChiefMinister Ajit Pawar on Friday.The cabinet subcommittee of ministers and the experts'panel were formed last month.The recommendations made in the report were discussedin the subcommittee's meeting held at the state secretariat onFriday, and the panel report will be tabled before the cabinetalong with suggestions made by the subcommittee, according toan official statement.A final decision on the report will be taken in thestate cabinet's meeting, Pawar said.The subcommittee meeting was attended by PWD MinisterAshok Chavan, Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat, WaterResources Minister Jayant Patil, Urban Development MinisterEknath Shinde, Transport Minister Anil Parab, Minority AffairsMinister Nawab Malik and Energy Minister Nitin Raut, whileFood and Civil Supplies Minister Chhagan Bhujbal took partfrom Nashik through video conferencing, the statement said.The 11-member panel included former top bureaucrats JSSahani, Subodh Kumar, Ramanath Jha, Umeshchandra Sarangi,Jayant Kavale and Sudhir Shrivastav.Others on the panel included serving additional chiefsecretary of the finance department Manoj Saunik, additionalchief secretary of the planning department DebashishChakravarty. The apex court also directed Governor Koshyari to ensure that all elected members of the House are sworn in on Wednesday itself. The entire exercise has to be completed by 5 pm. Voting in the Assembly shall not be on the basis of secret ballot, it said.
