Technology giant <keyword id="6355629" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Google">Google</keyword>’s today’s doodle is a tribute to one of the versatile actresses of Hindi cinema, <keyword id="42509" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Nargis-Dutt">Nargis Dutt</keyword>. 
 Born as <keyword id="163269" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Fatima-Rashid">Fatima Rashid</keyword> but known by her screen name Nargis, the actress made her screen debut as a child artist in Talash-E-Haq in 1935. However, her acting career began in 1942 with Tamanna. 
 
Nargis garnered worldwide acclaim for her role of Radha in the Academy Award-nominated film Mother India (1957). Her performance in this movie, later, won her Best Actress trophy at the Filmfare Awards. 
 On March 11, 1958, Nargis married with her Mother India co-star <keyword id="18536" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="sunil-dutt">Sunil Dutt</keyword>. Together, the couple was blessed with three children: actor <keyword id="7645" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sanjay-Dutt">Sanjay Dutt</keyword>, Namrata Dutt and former Congress lawmaker <keyword id="1009" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Priya-Dutt">Priya Dutt</keyword>. During the same year, she was the first film actress to be conferred with the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award. 
 
The actress passed away on May 3, 1981 owing to pancreatic cancer.
