A kiosk named “SELFIEwithMODI” has been grabbing the eyeballs of millions of Delhi residents, as it allows them to get a virtual selfie clicked with the honourable Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi. 
 
There are more than 20 mobile kiosks roaming around the city, enabling people to get a selfie with the charismatic leader. The kiosk has a large banner of the PM, with a camera and a tripod; people are allowed to just step in and get clicked. The kiosk has been aptly launched at a time when the political scenario of the city is under a supposed makeover. 
 
In just two days of its operation, there have been claims of more than 2 lakh selfies being clicked using the software. This seems to have inspired BJP people to install 100 more such kiosks so that people can have a feel of how it feels to be clicked with a leader of his stature. 
 
The first booth was installed in Khan Market and was inaugurated by BJP Vice President Amit Shah.

India to China: You should change the way you see us

On Monday, Modi met Modi in New Delhi. Both were identically clad in white kurta pyjamas which were complimented by a cream jacket and a pair of black shoes.

Besides, London, three other Modi wax figured will also be displayed in Singapore, Hong Kong and Bangkok today onwards. 
 
Taking their similarities a notch higher, Narendra Modi also joined in with his wax version in a trademark namaste. 
 
He was all praise for the wax replica after their unusual meeting. 
 
"What can I say? As far as art is concerned, the Madame Tussauds team is exceptional at what they do. What Lord Brahma does normally is what the artists there are doing. Today, I had an opportunity as the prime servant of my people to meet my wax figure," Modi added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had his ‘Mann ki baat’ with the aam aadmi in the country on June 28. And while he spoke at length on diverse topics and encouraged people to click #SelfieWithDaughter as a part of his ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign, he has maintained a contentious silence on the spree of murders in Madhya Pradesh’s Vyapam scam and the Lalit Modi controversy that is clearly denting the government’s image. 
 
Well, if one recalls, it was the BJP and its then Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, who vociferously and categorically criticized former PM Manmohan Singh for his inability to speak against the complete anarchy in his government. 
 
On the last day of the National Council meeting ahead of the General Elections last year, Narendra Modi had labelled Manmohan Singh as ‘night watchman’. An overwhelming 2000 plus crowd cheered him as he went on with his digs at the 70 year old the then Prime Minister Singh. 
 “The <keyword id="1575" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Congress">Congress</keyword> has appointed Manmohan Singh as a night watchman…He is nothing but a puppet in the hands of the Gandhi family,” he said as the crowd went hysteric. Fast forward to June 2015, one can see a similar silence is being maintained by our superstar Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this raging controversy. 
 
PM Modi, who is quite social on Twitter, has maintained an unsettling silence there as well. Really Mr. Modi? Do you have nothing to say on the controversies that involve party’s veterans. 
 
Obviously his reticence on the controversies has not gone unnoticed. Hawk-eyed Congress has literally jumped on the opportunity to question his silence over his government’s involvement in corruption. After all, PM Modi had blown the trumpet against corruption when he said, “BJP is for a mission, Congress is for commission.” 
 
Well, his silence on recent controversy is anything but acceptable. In the Lalitgate case, the NaMo government was quick to brush aside the various documents produced by the media while its spokespersons were brazenly defending the ministers’ actions. On the other hand, the BJP government has assured of transparent investigation in the Vyapam scam, however, the string of murders has stated otherwise. No wonder, the Supreme Court had to intervene and direct the top investigating agency in India, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to take charge of the scam. 
 
The Lalit Modi controversy has successfully questioned the government’s functioning in cases of corruption while Vyapam scam threatens to reveal many skeletons in the closet. It is certain that BJP’s honeymoon period is over and there is a growing voice within the party against the tainted leaders. But with PM Modi’s brazen silence on the matter, it remains to be seen if the public is forgiving enough for them to let him go off the hook!

It’s not the era of golden silence PM Modi! Speak up before it is
too late

Using some of the painter’s favourite colours, notably pastels of red, yellow ochre, blue, mud brown, <keyword id="419433" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="google-doodle">Google Doodle</keyword> was an abstract geometric illustration with MF Husain’s self portrait holding a brush in the middle. MF Hussain was among those rare artists whose prized collections of life works also include an accurate self-portrait. 

	In Modi’s selfies and publicity, the nation is fed with a hazy picture of the man himself. Thanks to this great prodigy, Modi has the most accurate example of self portrait of a true Indian in the whole world, to refer to.
 

	If only Narendra Modi could paint his true self portrait, it would have been marred with red pastels of Gujarat riots and orange shades of the true Hindu that he is.

	 
	 
	 

	2. Husain was self-exiled at the age of 90 after facing more than a decade of lawsuits and abuses for his paintings. It all started with his abstract depictions of Hindu Goddesses and nudity. Though critics state the main reason of his troubled years as a painter was he depicting Hindu mythology in its bare state being a Muslim. This even led to his being treated as a religious bigot.
 

	In his process of ‘saffronisation’ of the nation, Modi can easily put the Gujarat riots case to the background. After all he is true to his religion, unlike Husain, the Indian.

Yes, there is a difference between the two which is debated on. But much to the credits of MF Husain, Modi has the best solution to look at. The artist created a unique language of expression through his paintings which were a combination of Indian visual idioms and contemporary western forms. His paintings were so successful at the international markets that it led to a seal of approval over making art a stock option. 
 

	Modi needs to acknowledge that we need to embrace western talent while working on Indian potential. Calling to foreign investors and manufacturers to manufacture in India or buying Rafale jets from France should be coupled with steps to make the most of the hidden potential in the hearts of Indian land.

	 
	 
	 

	4. <keyword id="127432" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Maqbool-Fida-Husain">Maqbool Fida Husain</keyword> was named the ‘Picasso of India’ not for nothing. His unique abstract paintings based on Indian mythology and Goddesses celebrating womanhood made his style stand out among the masses. His paintings were not a disgrace to Indian culture nor did it represent fanaticism, he showed it as it was. It exposed the dilemmas of the nation through pictorial eclecticism. One might remember his famous impression of <keyword id="6354478" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Indira-Gandhi">Indira Gandhi</keyword> as Goddess Durga riding a lion during emergency. 

	If only Modi had this courage, instead of calling to people to post pictures of incredible India he would have asked them to post images of the things that is tearing apart its incredibility.

So also movies, wearing skirts to school and now meat! Narendra Modi’excuse-it all went against the integrity of the nation and its culture. Hence, after years of being represented to its true form, the nation is happy to pull itself out of the artist’s canvas safely.

A spokesperson of Apple has confirmed to the media, a meeting between Cook and PM Modi will be happening. However, the issue of discussion is still confidential. 
 
After Make in India campaign, Modi’s recent plan of <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Digital+India+">Digital India</a> has certainly grabbed eye balls from around the world.

Apple uses manufacturing facilities of Foxconn which has planned to invest around $5 billion in a manufacturing facility in Maharashtra.

He is slated to visit the Facebook headquarters and hold the town hall interaction on the 27th of September. 
 
While this is a matter of great pride for the country and for the PM himself, considering India boasts of the largest user base for Facebook outside the US, it’ll also be interesting to see what the two are upto when they come face to face at the Facebook headquarters.

Unending candy crush requests for everyone who doesn’t favour the BJP: If there’s one thing that can be more annoying than your relatives adding you up on Facebook, it’s those numerous candy crush requests that your school friends and everyone who doesn’t have a job or a brain seem to be sending you. Taking advantage of this disdain towards those requests, Prime Minister Modi will sign a historic agreement with Zuckerberg to ensure that anyone who speaks ill of the majesty on the social networking site will be bombarded with candy crush requests every day until they pledge alliance. (or stop using Facebook altogether) 
 
 
 
3. Swachh Facebook Campaign will be launched: If you a resident of the biggest democracy in the world (which you unfortunately are), you’re well aware of Modi’s affinity for campaigns. Not one to leave out Facebook in this scheme, Modi will also propose a ‘Swachh Facebook Campaign’ which will cover the whole social networking site and will get clean the site of anything that is against Indian culture. Swachh Facebook for the win! 
 
 
 
4. One yoga picture a day: With a little help from his friend, Mark Zuckerberg, Modi will see to it that there comes a pop-up before you post anything on Facebook which will guarantee that you will be allowed access to posting statuses/pictures on your own wall only if a picture of you doing Yoga is submitted. Every day. Fior the rest of your life.

The year 2015 is on a fag end and it is time to look back and see who made news and why. From politics to Bollywood to even holy cow, Indian celebrities were centre of attraction for some or the reason in 2015. 
 
Yahoo released its 2015 Year in Review and came out with interesting top trends of 2015. 
 
As per Yahoo, Sunny Leone remained the most searched female celebrity for fourth year in a row and Salman Khan was the most searched male celebrity of 2015. 
 
Interestingly, Sania Mirza was among the most searched sportspersons, breaking the cricket-dominated list. Indian cricket team captain MS Dhoni took the top spot and Saina Nehwal was at 10th. 
 
Even our holy cow emerged as personality of the year, due to a string of controversies including the beef ban and Dadri lynching incident. 
 
Among other news, ISIS, 2015 World Cup, APJ Abdul Kalam’s demise, the Sheena Bora Murder investigation and the Vyapam Scandal also made headlines in 2015 and featured on the list of most searched news in 2015. 
 
Not surprising enough, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the most searched politician of the year and his selfie moment with China’s Li Keqiang was the epic selfie of 2015. 
 
Arvind ‘common man’ Kejriwal was second and Radhe Maa was also among the most searched personalities! 
 
Talking about movies, the epic Baahubali, which broke box-office records while also being the most expensive movie to be ever made in India, went on to claim the top spot as ‘Most Searched Movie of the Year’.

It is a known fact that our country is governed by politicians who are comedians in disguise. From making every Indian laugh at their utterly false promises to disrupting the Parliament day after day and being involved in scams of massive proportions, our politicians are guilty of indulging in them all. 
 
While they might not excel at what they’ve been elected to do (no surprises there), we can’t help but admit that our politicians do have some hidden talents. Unfortunately, they are unable to hone these talents due to the immense burden of governing a country on their shoulders. (also alternatively known as the burden of enforcing a ban on everything we’ve ever loved and cared for) 
 
To make things easier for our beloved politicians in case they ever decide to take a leap from the world of politics, also known as the world of looting the taxpayer’s money, Business Insider draws up a list of alternate career suggestions for eight ministers depending on what their skill sets are.

The President of Bharatiya Janata Party Amit Shah is best known for his event management skills.  And, there was an unusual winner when it came to deciding who would be christened the <keyword id="3181653" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Personality-of-the-Year-2015">Personality of the Year 2015</keyword>. 
 
Would it be our selfie-obsessed Prime Minister<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=narendra+modi"> Narendra Modi</a>, who’s just back from another foreign or would it be the Badshaah of Bollywood, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/topic/Shah-Rukh-Khan">Shahrukh Khan</a>, who’s made a lot of moolah riding on people’s craze over yet another of his average movies?  Further, the unfortunate <keyword id="3082300" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Dadri-lynching">Dadri lynching</keyword> ensured that the cow became the topic of every living-room discussions on religious intolerance, sparked the ‘award wapsi’ campaign and even went as much as stalling proceedings in the Parliament. 
 
Thus, the cow was the personality that generated a great deal of online buzz in 2015 with conversations revolving around its life and death and ending with its consumption and conservation. 
 
Let’s hope no has a ‘beef’ with this decision!

The actor, who became a household name after essaying the role of Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar's "Ramayan", reached Meerut on Tuesday evening and held meetings with the local BJP leaders and office bearers. "I was born here (in Meerut) and spent my childhood here. The first 17 years of my life were spent in Meerut. I was a student of <keyword id="21103233" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sarasawati-shishu-mandir-school" source="keywords">Sarasawati Shishu Mandir School</keyword> after which I joined the Government Inter college," Govil told reporters after he arrived in the city. In response to a question regarding the Ram temple, Govil said after the consecration ceremony, the entire country and the world have become "rammay".
