Congress President Mallikarju <keyword id="65133" type="General" weightage="40" keywordseo="Kharge" source="Orion">Kharge</keyword>, in his post on 'X' also wished PM Modi good health and long life. "My best wishes to PM Shri Narendra Modi ji on his birthday. May he be blessed with good health and long life," Kharge said. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also extended his greetings. "Birthday greetings Hon'ble PM @narendramodi ji. Wish you good health and happiness." Congress Lok Sabha MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury also conveyed his greetings. National Conference (NC) president Farooq Abdullah extended his best wishes. "I want to extend my best wishes and I pray for his (PM Modi) long life," he said. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut wished PM Modi good health and a long life and said he prays to God to give PM Modi strength to deal with issues such as Manipur, Kashmir and inflation "I wish him good health and long life...He has led the nation in difficult times...Today there are several issues in front of the country such as Manipur, Kashmir, inflation and unemployment...He will continue to face such situations in the coming year...I pray to God to give him strength to deal with these issues as long as he is in power," Raut said. Congress Rajya Sabha MP Pramod Tiwari said that PM Modi will celebrate his next birthday as 'former PM' of the country. "...He may celebrate this birthday as the Prime Minister, I wish him health and happiness...But next birthday, he will celebrate as former Prime Minister...," Tiwari told reporters here.

Prime Minister <keyword id="6354477" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="narendra-modi" source="Orion">Narendra Modi</keyword> said on Saturday that he could not visit to his mother to seek her blessings on his birthday, but she will be happy to see that thousands of mothers have gathered to bless him on the day. The Prime Minister made the remarks while addressing the gathering of over one lakh women associated with self-help groups (SHGs) in Madhya Pradesh's Sheopur district. Prime Minister Modi on his 72th birthday visited to Madhya Pradesh where he released eight African cheetahs into enclosure at Kuno National Park. Following which, he graced a women SHGs conference being organised in Sheopur district. "I would have gone to my mother to seek her blessings on my birthday, if today's programmes weren't organised here. But, thousands of mothers have come to bless me here and after seeing all this, my mother would be very happy that I am getting blessings of thousands of mothers here," Prime Minister Modi said. He was welcomed with great enthusiasm by artists who performed tribal dance and other cultural programmes organised by the state government. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister recounted several women beneficiary schemes for women under his government. On the occasion, Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, who is a prominent political face from Gwalior-Chambal region, said that around 60 per cent area of Sheopur district have dense forest zone. "Sheopur is a very small district, however, it is filled with natural resources. There are several ancient temples of Lord Shiva and that is why this area was named Sheopur." Notably, Sheopur has two assembly seats - Sheopur and Vijaypur, and the BJP and Congress each has one MLA. However, the fact that, Sheopur, which is the part of Gwalior-Chambal region, is also considered the most remote area in the state and has highest malnutrition cases in the state. The women SHGs participating in the conference were those who run several initiatives being promoted under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM). DAY-NRLM aims at mobilising rural poor households into SHGs in a phased manner and provide them long-term support to diversify their livelihoods, improve their incomes and quality of life. On the day, the Prime Minister also inaugurated four Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) skilling centres under PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana. On this occasion, Khattar also distributed cards among 125 children suffering from thalassemia through which they can get their blood tests done along with other tests like MRI etc. at free-of -cost for one year by the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram. He said thalassemia is a serious disease in which a person's blood has to be changed after a period and its treatment is expensive. The Chief Minister added that the Ayushman Bharat scheme has been implemented to provide medical treatment facilities to the poor, and is a combined scheme of the Central and state governments. Thalassemia patients to get ₹ 2,500 per month in Haryana

September 17 was an auspicious day in India. Not only was it <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/GodSaveTheOcean-This-Ganesh-Chaturthi-Mumbai-NGO-makes-idols-that-fish-can-eat/articleshow/48786857.cms">Ganesh Chaturthi</a>, but it also happened to be the birthday of India’s beloved Prime Minister, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Educate-In-India-Narendra-Modis-new-pet-project/articleshow/47456640.cms">Narendra Modi</a>. So, as is tradition, one would have expected not only his party (<keyword id="14666" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="BJP">BJP</keyword>), but the entire country to shower extravagant blessings on its favourite son. But, hold your horses, because Modi had a diktat for how not to celebrate his birthday, a diktat that was supposed to have been followed to the ‘T’. 
 
The message was clear- the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=BJP">BJP</a> top management was not to make Modi’s birthday a national event. After all, it is for dynastic parties like the <keyword id="1575" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Congress">Congress</keyword> to put up posters in every street corner wishing their “young” Vice-President a happy one! For once, perhaps, Modi-fans and sycophants, agreed. Some people might say, “Thank God for small mercies”, maybe this dissuaded <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/topic/Mallika-Sherawat">Mallika Sherawat</a> from reprising her Marilyn Monroe-act and singing “Happy Birthday, Prime Minister”. 
 
But such diktats do little to subdue the indomitable spirit of the young and enterprising. A company that promotes hygienic sanitation in India and builds toilets printed birthday cards to mark the Prime Minister’s birthday with a call for “janm-divas samaroh” (a birthday get-together). A young and very enterprising minister; who has been in the eye of storm recently, for his politically incorrect statements; was the chief guest of this get together and unveiled a 365 kg jumbo ‘laddu’ to mark the special day. But this Minister of State with Independent Charge of a couple of ministries was quick to dub the event as a conference to mark the organizer’s achievements in the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=SWACHH+BHARAT">Swachh Bharat</a> Mission; a programme close to the birthday boy’s heart. 
 Another event, another young minister but the same date: September 17. This young and dynamic Minister of State decided to mark the PM’s birthday by calling it “an auspicious day”. Though he was quick to add that it was Ganesh Chaturthi as well as Vishwakarma puja that were being celebrated on the same day. But the minister wanted to make sure that his birthday wish was conveyed to the right man, so he decided to make the auspicious day remark again, the moment he saw his boss, the Cabinet Minister walk into the conference. After all, his boss is known to enjoy <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword>’s confidence and have his ear. But seasoned politician that his boss is, he chose not to acknowledge the birthday remark of his junior minister. 
 
Maybe one should follow the First Citizen of India’s example and just take to Twitter for birthday wishes.
