AHMEDABAD: <keyword id="6371021" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Nano">Tata Nano</keyword>, once a symbol of aspiration for two-wheeler owners, will be revamped next year and launched as a 'Smart City Car', Girish Wagh, senior vice-president, <keyword id="42747" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Motors">Tata Motors</keyword>, said on August 13.<br />

"We are carrying out multiple interventions to improve the product as well as its image to ensure that the Nano lives up to its promise," Wagh said on the sidelines of launch of Zest, a compact sedan from the Tata stable with 29 new product features.<br />
<br /> The adulation around the Nano brand disappeared when deliveries were hit owing to delay in the project. Cases of the car catching fire dampened the consumer sentiment around the brand. "Although fire incidents were either caused by foreign objects in the exhaust system or external manipulation with the car's electrical systems, over the period, we have rectified them," he said, adding that the company has refocused on the safety aspect in its subsequent model <keyword id="2012617" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Nano-Twist">Nano Twist</keyword>.<br />

The company realized that there were significant number of cases where people would test-drive, book their Nano and then, drop out owing to negativity around the brand. "Social circles would dissuade them," Wagh said adding that the company is hoping to see a change in Nano's fortunes, post rebranding, including possible export to international markets. Tata Nano is manufactured at the company's Sanand facility on the outskirts of Ahmedabad.

While this stands as ‘make or break’ moment for the Tata, Girish Wagh, <keyword id="192401" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="senior-VP">senior VP</keyword>, programme, planning and project management for passenger vehicle division, at Tata Motors told the Economic Times that “with GenX Nano, the needle has moved up in terms of its competitive position.”<br />
 <br /> Earlier posed as a cheapest car and just meant for the ones who can barely afford a car, Tata offers a twist. The new age Nano, Tata believes would give a cut throat competition to <keyword id="177982" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maruti-Alto">Maruti Alto</keyword> and <keyword id="778281" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hyundai-Eon">Hyundai Eon</keyword>, which are selling about 15,000 units a month.<br />

<br /> The car also has an interesting creep function in the automatic variant, wherein the vehicle moves steadily on its own, if the foot is released of the acceleration or brake peddle. <keyword id="818742" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="The-move">The move</keyword> is considered as a big boon and offers comfort in a bumper to bumper traffic in major cities. Tata Motor’s make or break moment has arrived with the GenX Nano

Both the companies would together launch a new initiative called Myles City Drive that will allow customers to drive a Tata Nano across Delhi-NCR.<br />

Ever since the introduction of the Nord series, we have seen this SKU make its own identity. To the point that we now also see a Nord 2T here, along with the CE 3 Lite. While the CE series is ruthless when it comes to providing standard OnePlus features, the original Nord device retains it all. And that is the case with the latest OnePlus Nord 3. All set with a revised design, and a latest chipset it promises to bring back laurels to the Nord name. It is able to achieve that to an extent, but there are some limitations. I talk about them in my review. <br /><br /><strong>Price &amp; Availability</strong><br />OnePlus Nord 3 Lite is available in 2 variants. There is a base variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage priced at ₹33,999. From the camera casing to the flat edges, it might take a second for you to tell the two devices apart. Of course it becomes clear very quickly that it is a superior device, thanks to the materials OnePlus has put together on the smartphone. <br /><br />Holding the Nord 3 provides a premium feel which has been missing on the Nord series for a while. The glass sandwich design encased in a metal frame makes the device a treat to hold. The flat edges on the Nord 3 also makes it easy to maintain a grip around the device. I believe Nord 3 is a perfect segway for OnePlus to move away from the curved design language we have seen for a while. <br /><br />Since this is the flagship Nord we do get to see the fan favorite, alert slider here. Fixed in its familiar placement on the top right edge, it works perfectly. Like the IR blaster, which we also get on the Nord CE 3 Lite and the OnePlus 11R. For someone like me who is too lazy to find the remote for appliances this is a beneficial feature. However some might argue for a 3.5mm headphone jack for it. Yes, you don’t get one here which isn’t surprising at all. <br /><br />Taking forward the premium feeling of the device, the buttons here are also of top quality. Be it the volume rockers or the power button, they feel solid and responsive to interact with. At the bottom you find the USB Type-C charging port. You will also find the SIM card tray at the bottom, which can house 2 nano SIMs. <br /><br />The variant with me is in the Misty Green color which is a lighter shade of mint green. I wasn’t very impressed by it initially but it has grown on me since. Yet, I would recommend checking out the black color variant which is a safer choice. <br /><br />I would like to point out here that the back registers smudges excessively, which is common with this material. You can avoid that with a case, making it manageable. Before I come to the display quality, I have to mention the minimal bezels we see here. Unlike previous Nord devices where we did see a hint of a chin, Nord 3 trims it all down efficiently. The placement of the front camera bang at the middle completes the look. <br /><br />As for the screen quality, Nord 3 scores well in this department as well. This shouldn’t be surprising. OnePlus has cracked the code for great displays for a while. Aptly bright to look at, it’s a treat to watch content on it, with accurate color reproduction and sharpness. The black levels are generally favorable, nothing out of order. The bigger screen size also allows us to read text here easily, so if you like to read on your smartphone you are in good hands. <br /><br />With the HDR10+ support, I was confident that the content here will be punchy, and I wasn’t disappointed. I watched The Boys on Amazon Prime and the experience was pleasant.<br /><br />Now the display supports a max refresh rate of 120Hz which delivers a snappy experience. Moreover we also get to see dynamic refresh rate feature here which can let the phone switch the refresh rate from 40Hz-120Hz. This feature works reasonably well, and the refresh rate switch in real time works aptly. <br /><br />            <div type="image" title="The display is super responsive." msid="101506864" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The display is super responsive. &amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div>However, I preferred keeping the refresh rate at 120Hz throughout my testing.<br />Of Course the refresh rate also comes in handy for gaming, where you can switch and snap between different environments quickly. <br /><br />We do get an in display fingerprint sensor here, which works like a regular optical unit. While it takes a split second to unlock the smartphone, it rarely misses out. <br /><br />We also get an option for always on display, with a classic OnePlus layout. I will cover the customisation options for it in the next section, for now we can establish it is utilitarian. Unlike other devices that may bombard you with unexpected advertisements, the OnePlus Nord 3 ensures a seamless user experience with minimal interruptions, featuring only a few OnePlus apps such as the store, community, and Netflix.<br /><br />While the Oxygen OS provides a polished and clutter-free interface, I personally have reservations about the app icon designs and animations in version 13.1. I preferred the previous circular app icons as they appeared cleaner to me, whereas the current boxy icons can make the screen feel more crowded. Thankfully we can change that, with the customisation options on board. <br /><br />In terms of aesthetics, the OnePlus Nord 3 reintroduces the signature OnePlus features, allowing you to customize themes, colors, font styles, wallpapers, and even fingerprint animations. If you prefer a stock experience tailored by the manufacturer, you'll be satisfied, but if you enjoy personalizing your device, you'll have ample opportunities to do so.<br /><br />I also like the appearance of the drop down menu on the Nord 3, which has the traces of a stick Google OS but with a OnePlus twist. This is what I call a tasteful adaptation. <br /><br />We also get some quality of life features here which you might or might not use. Like the Omoji, a virtual avatar of yourself. With pretty much all the social media apps providing you with one, I doubt if anyone will tap into this. But there are some favorable features as well - like the shelf that provides you quick access to your favorite apps. Widgets on OnePlus devices are always a strong point and we do get them here as well. <br /><br />Like many other manufacturers, OnePlus is committed to delivering future updates, and the Nord 3 is no exception. Users can expect to receive Android updates for the next two years, ensuring that the device remains up to date and a worthwhile investment for the majority of users.<br /><br /><strong>Performance:</strong><br />The OnePlus Nord 2T is equipped with the powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9000 5G processor, an upgrade from the Dimensity 1300 found in the Nord 2T. This new chipset delivers impressive performance.<br /><br />The device I have includes 16GB of RAM, which can be expanded by an additional 12GB through RAM extension. Essentially, you can utilize the device's internal storage as additional RAM, particularly beneficial for resource-intensive apps like games. The 256GB internal storage on my review variant should be ample for most users. <br /><br />During my ten days of usage, I haven't encountered the need for more RAM. The base 16GB RAM is sufficient for handling multiple applications. In my experience, apps like Instagram remained stable for up to a day without any frame drops or lag. However, heavier apps like COD: Mobile may occasionally shut down after extended usage.<br /><br />Regarding gaming performance, I made the Nord 3 my primary gaming device for the past week, focusing on games like COD: Mobile and Asphalt 9. Starting with COD: Mobile on UHD settings, the performance was on par with or even better than the Nord 2T. The game ran smoothly with a high frame rate and no noticeable choppiness or frame drops. After approximately 45 minutes of continuous gaming, the phone started to warm up, which can be attributed to the metal edges.<br /><br />Next, I switched to Asphalt 9, and the performance remained consistent and comparable to what I observed in COD:Mobile.<br /><br />The review variant I have features 256GB of internal storage, which should be ample for heavy users. However, a lighter user can opt for the 128GB variant.<br /><br />I also ran a Geekbench 6 score on Nord 3. The smartphone is equipped with a 5000mAh battery that supports 80W SuperVooc charging. According to OnePlus, it can charge from 1-70% in 15 minutes and reach 1-100% in 27 minutes.<br /><br />In my experience, the charging times were close to the claims. The 1-70% mark was reached in 18 minutes, while reaching 100% took 35 minutes. These numbers were achieved with mobile data enabled and an active internet connection. It's worth noting that OnePlus has certified the charging safety, ensuring a reliable and enjoyable charging experience.<br /><br />On a light usage day without gaming, I found that plugging in the device at night was sufficient. The images exhibit excellent detail, with colors mostly accurately representing the subjects in the frame. Portrait shots with a single subject in the frame appear solid, with precise edge detection. However, when multiple people are included in the frame, the camera tends to struggle a bit.<br /><br />The 8MP ultra-wide angle lens offers a 112-degree field of view, effectively expanding the frame to capture more of the surroundings. However, if your intention is to create content with your device, it may not be the optimal choice. With a solid display, optimal performance, and a respectable camera set-up it is an easy recommendation for people looking for a balanced device. <br /><br />But, if you want more vanity, like a curved display and a slightly better camera performance you can check out the Realme 11 Pro or Pro Plus. <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />

<p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Getty/Tommaso Boddi</span></p></div><p></p></div></div></p><ul><li><strong>Influencers seem to be well-positioned to benefit from Facebook's latest algorithm change.</strong></li><li><strong>With Facebook effectively removing brands from the equation, it will automatically boost organic engagement around influencer content on the platform.</strong></li><li><strong>But it's up-and-coming influencers, not the big-name influencers, that are likely to benefit most.</strong></li><li><strong>That's because bigger influencers were pushed to convert their profiles to "business pages" last year - which are presumably going to take a hit with the latest changes. </strong></li></ul><p><br />Facebook's <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/facebook-users-say-theyre-seeing-changes-in-their-news-feeds-2018-1">latest algorithm change</a> may make life a lot harder for publishers and businesses accustomed to getting their messages in front of the platform's users with relative ease.</p><p>But it could have a surprising benefit for digital influencers - particularly those with budding followings.</p><p>In a <a href="https://newsroom.fb.com/news/2018/01/news-feed-fyi-bringing-people-closer-together/">blog post</a> explaining the changes, Facebook's head of News Feed Adam Mosseri said that page posts that generate conversation between people, such as videos posted by "creators" will now show up higher in News Feed.</p><p>"Many creators who post videos on Facebook prompt discussion among their followers, as do posts from celebrities," he wrote. </p><p>In other words, as Facebook moves toward prioritizing content from friends and family (like baby pictures) in the News Feed, influencer content - especially the kind that sparks conversations between family and friends - is likely to also get a boost.</p><p>Influencer content is already inherently more engaging than regular organic brand posts, Marco Hansell, CEO at influencer marketing company Speakr, said. With the platform now effectively sidelining brands, it will automatically boost organic engagement around influencer content even more.</p><p>"Content has five to 10 times better engagement when posted by an influencer rather than a brand, and that number will now go up even more," he said. "The Facebook algorithm change provides an opportunity for influencers to stake a claim around the old slots left empty by brands and publishers."</p><p>However, in an ironic twist, some of the biggest influencers on Facebook may not fare as well compared newer digital creators on the platform. That's because last year, Facebook implemented a shift where - in order to use its branded content tools (so that top influencers could post videos sponsored by advertisers, for instance) - these creators needed to post from an official Facebook page.</p><p>As a result, most established influencers were pushed to convert their profiles to "business pages" - which are going to take a hit with the latest algorithm changes, just like any other marketer or media company's pages. </p><p>"Facebook's most recent announcement means people will see less content from pages," said Kristy Samis, founder and chief innovation officer of influencer marketing agency Clever. "This means that influencers who switched to pages will theoretically lose reach and engagement."</p><p>Instead, it is smaller influencers that should see the most engagement and growth. Arnab Majumdar, cofounder of influencer agency Peersway, said that the News Feed change would usher in a new trend, where brands will work closely with hundreds of nano-influencers instead of a few big influencers. </p><p>"Since nano-influencers rarely do brand promotions as their full-time job, very few of them have business profiles. So, this change will barely have any impact on their reach, while they will continue to have a much higher rate of engagement than bigger influencers," he said. "This change will be a game-changer for the influencer marketing industry." </p><p>Facebook, in other words, may be inadvertently laying the foundation for the next wave of influencers, said Chelsea Naftelberg, director of influencers and content at ad agency Attention.</p><p>"This definitely leaves an opening in the market," said Naftelberg. <p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div>In a serendipitous accident,&#xa0;scientists in Tennessee <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7EYQLOlwDM">claim</a> they have converted&#xa0;carbon dioxide into ethanol.<p>The researchers, who work at the Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory, developed a process that adds "nano-spikes" (essentially tiny bursts) of carbon and copper to CO2 to transform it into ethanol, the type of alcohol found in hand sanitizer and alcoholic drinks.&#xa0;</p><p>Ethanol can also be turned into fuel (gasoline in Brazil already contains <a href="http://www.reuters.com/article/brazil-ethanol-blend-idUSL1N0VC0X120150202" target="_blank">more than 25%</a> ethanol), which is why the scientists are calling the discovery a "twist to waste-to-fuel technology."&#xa0;</p><p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div>"<span>We discovered somewhat by accident that this material worked,"&#xa0;</span>ORNL's Adam Rondinone<span>, lead author of the team's study, <a href="https://www.ornl.gov/news/nano-spike-catalysts-convert-carbon-dioxide-directly-ethanol">said</a>&#xa0;in a press release</span><span>. "We were trying to study the first step of a proposed reaction when we realized that the catalyst was doing the entire reaction on its own."</span><p><span><span>The team's experiment was meant to be one part of a longer research project investigating how&#xa0;to turn CO2 into ethanol; the researchers figured the process&#xa0;would require multiple steps and complicated chemical reactions. But</span><span>&#xa0;it turned out to be a lot easier than they thought: they only needed </span><span>a single catalyst (copper) to transform the CO2.</span></span></p><p><span>The discovery is a major breakthrough, considering the process turns&#xa0;</span><span>carbon dioxide - <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/carbon-dioxide-global-warming-antarctica-records-2016-6">one of the leading air pollutants</a>&#xa0;contributing to&#xa0;climate change&#xa0;- into fuel, which in turn&#xa0;<a href="http://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.cfm?id=307&amp;t=11">generates more CO2</a>&#xa0;that could be turned back into more fuel. (B<span>urning a gallon of diesel fuel produces&#xa0;a<span>bout <a href="http://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.cfm?id=307&amp;t=11">22 pounds</a> of CO2.) Scientists just accidentally figured out how to turn CO2 into fuel in a breakthrough study

<ul class="summary-list"><li>People who struggled to find an audience on platforms like Instagram have found viral success on <keyword id="6762469" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="TikTok">TikTok</keyword>, the video app beloved by Gen Z. Many have started to master the short-video app's elusive algorithm.</li><li>Now, the most popular creators are being snapped up by talent agencies, and businesses are sizing up how they work with <keyword id="1112328" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Influencers">influencers</keyword> to sell to TikTok's 800 million users.</li><li>We spoke to the influencers and brands who have found success on the platform about what they're doing right — and where TikTok could go next.</li></ul><p>Adam Salisbury had no clue what his colleague was talking about when she suggested he join TikTok in November 2018. "She was telling me I'd do really well on it, but I was just laughing and asking if it was something to do with clocks," the artist says.</p><p>A month later, Salisbury was TikTok famous. Videos of his painting have more than 9.7 million likes and have earned him more than half a million followers. He has even collaborated with Disney on Mickey Mouse and Frozen murals.</p><p>New "TikTokers" like Salisbury can go viral much quicker and bigger there than on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter. Other users can recirculate videos they like, including to other platforms. Salisbury's time-lapse video of himself painting Captain Tom Moore, the 100-year-old veteran who raised tens of millions of pounds for the UK's health service, had only 13,000 views on Instagram — but more than 300,000 on TikTok. </p><p>"[On Instagram] you have to have a following first and it's hard to get a following unless you've got a lot of money put aside and you're a big business who can start throwing out sponsored adverts," Salisbury says. "With TikTok you can literally just upload a video and have a million followers the next day."</p><p>In other words, on TikTok, anyone can go viral. That means it can feel chaotic, and its algorithm remains elusive. It's making would-be influencers, as well as brands, rethink everything they know about <keyword id="6354632" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="social-media">social media</keyword>, and there are signs that both groups are beginning to adapt. Some users are consistently seeing their videos take off and talent agencies have come calling; businesses are learning to promote their products to millions of people — without having to pay for a single ad.</p> <p>More than other platforms, TikTok pushes people to discover something new.</p><p>When you open Instagram you see pictures and videos from people you've already chosen to follow, and have to click to another page to "explore" other users. On TikTok, you open the app to a "For You"  feed which recommends new videos based on your viewing habits. Only then can you click off to see the people you follow. </p><p>TikTok makes it easy for novices to circulate their videos worldwide by getting them promoted on this page. Unlike Instagram, which explains how it ranks users' content, TikTok keeps its algorithm a closely guarded secret. This hasn't stopped TikTokers trying to work it out.</p><p>"We've put some videos out and then deleted them because people don't like them," says 42-year-old Jenny Mcloughlin, who became an overnight sensation after starring in her daughters' hit videos of their dance challenges and Kardashian impressions. "There's a lot to learn about how TikTok actually works because one can be a hit and one can be a miss — it just depends on the algorithm".</p> <p>During "trending hashtag challenges," users try to reach bigger audiences by mimicking past viral videos. Others repurpose existing soundbites, such as the comedian Sarah Cooper, who got famous in lockdown for her videos mocking Donald Trump's incoherence.</p><p>"When we do the challenges we all have our own opinions and just put our own little twist on it," Mcloughlin says. "We've had quite a lot that's gone viral … I think it's because we're just a family and we're a bit different."</p><p>While people polish content to perfection before posting it on Instagram, TikTok rewards originality and at least the impression of spontaneity. For now, those rewards are likes and views — but soon, creators will be able to earn money directly from the platform. On July 23, TikTok <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tiktok-establishes-200-million-us-based-fund-to-support-creators-2020-7#:~:text=Short%2Dform%20video%20app%20TikTok,support%20US%2Dbased%20content%20creators.&amp;text=The%20fund%20will%20join%20the,be%20traded%20for%20real%20cash.ash.">announced</a> a $200 million "Creator Fund" to help eligible video-makers in the US make money on the app, and it will begin accepting applications in August. It has also launched a similar <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/tiktok-launches-300-million-creative-fund-europe-video-makers-2020-7">$300 million European fund</a>.</p><p><em><strong>Read more... </strong><a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-tiktok-nano-influencers-can-make-money-from-sponsored-posts-2020-4">How to start making money from TikTok as a 'nano' influencer with fewer than 10,000 followers — and how much you can earn (Premium)</a></em></p><p>Some are already making a living on the app through <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-much-money-tiktok-creators-earn-promoting-apps-in-videos-2020-7">paid promotions</a>. <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/top-talent-agents-and-managers-for-tiktok-influencers-creators-list-2020-4">Talent agencies </a>have <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/database-of-the-influencer-managers-agents-of-tiktok-stars-2020-6">snapped up popular TikTok influencers, too</a>. Big &amp; Bright represents Joel M, a magician who has 4.1 million fans on the platform; Bytesized Talent represents Mermaid Grace (1.2 million TikTok fans), a party entertainer who free dives while dressed as a mermaid; and Influentially represents Hussein Yoga, a contortionist (1.3 million fans).</p><p>According to Sam Hoffman, who works with brands to develop their TikTok <keyword id="6354839" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="marketing">marketing</keyword> campaigns, any brand or <keyword id="1864633" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Influencer">influencer</keyword> with unique videos is more likely to make it big on TikTok, because it is still new enough for them to be "first to market." </p><p>As with older social media platforms, the more popular TikTok becomes, the more cluttered it will get, but Hoffman says that "there's still lots and lots of opportunity to be the first in your category either as a brand or as a person."</p><h3><strong>Businesses are getting involved — and they're doing more than buying ads</strong></h3><p>Last month, TikTok launched "TikTok For Business", a dedicated platform for brands wondering how to sell to its 800 million users. Adverts are not the only way for them to make their mark.</p><p>Alessandro Bogliari, co-founder and chief executive of The Influencer Marketing Factory, says his agency focuses on working with creators, rather than taking out ads (although ads can still boost viewing figures, he says). The idea is that the brand in questions contracts a few key influencers to make videos promoting a campaign, in the hope that their followers will mimic the videos and go viral.</p><p>One example is the agency's promotion of Shakira and Anuel AA's song "Me Gusta." It contracted six TikTok influencers to create videos where they recreated Shakira's eye makeup. The campaign eventuallly generated 19,100 user videos, 6,900,000 video views, and 1,170,000 likes.</p><p><div type="image" title="Shakira" height="1665" width="2500" msid="77266985" hostid="261"></div></p><p>And whether it's organic campaigns or adverts, Bogliari believes TikTok is still the most cost-effective platform for social media marketing. </p><p>"The organic reach of Instagram … it's really limited," he says. "You don't really get in front of enough people anymore. For the same price you can get millions and millions of people on TikTok." </p><p>The US government is <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/donald-trump-considering-banning-tiktok-2020-7">considering a ban on the video-sharing app</a> because it is owned by Chinese company ByteDance, raising concerns about China's influence on our digital lives. Will it be around to dominate the marketing landscape for much longer? </p><p>Social media consultant Matt Navarra thinks so. "My suspicion is the US will try and impose some sanctions or put increased pressure on TikTok and ByteDance," he says. "But a ban seems like another Trump thing that will talk the talk … it probably won't get that far."</p><p>Navarra thinks the UK will be less gung-ho about banning one of the world's most popular apps. "There are plenty of other steps they could take in terms of requesting ... [TikTok proves] its safety and its trustworthiness," he says. "That would possibly address some of the concerns without requiring a ban."</p><p>For now, the app looks set to continue to shoot novice video makers and savvy brands to overnight fame, tearing up the influencer rulebook — one viral video at a time.</p>
