In an interview with the <a href="https://www.livemint.com/Companies/nqeXsdgv5d4bUeY16LTwHP/Tata-Sky-will-be-the-supplier-of-Netflix-Hotstar-Amazon-Pr.html">Mint</a>, Nagpal said that services like Netflix, Hotstar, YouTube and Amazon Prime will available through a new hardware box. The new set-top box will not only have the ability to stream from satellite, but broadband as well. However, how exactly the integration will work was not shared. As with previous Tata Sky set-top boxes, the upgrade <a href="https://www.mysmartprice.com/gear/2018/05/22/tata-sky-hotstar-amazon-prime-netflix/">probably</a> won’t be free. There’s been a lot of talk about how the cable industry would survive the onslaught on online content but Nagpal believes that the cable television in India doesn’t face much competition from Over The Top (OTT) services. The cheaper prices keep people from switching over to OTT services like Netflix. He hopes that the marriage between the two platforms will also help in that regard, especially since their hybrid device, the new set-top box, will provide more options than watching conventional TV channels. The Centre should create a buffer stock of mustard seeds of at least 2.5 million tonnes, like pulses, to enhance domestic production and reduce imports of cooking oils, the <keyword id="1086632" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="central-organization-for-oil-industry-and-trade" source="Orion">Central Organization for Oil Industry and Trade</keyword> (<keyword id="1598377" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="cooit" source="Orion">COOIT</keyword>) said on Tuesday as part of its wish list ahead of the budget. "The procurement for the proposed creation of buffer stock should be made at market price at the very beginning of crop season, which will ensure oil processing units would operate throughout the year," the COOIT, an apex body for the vegetable oils sector, said in a statement. It also wants the government to widen the gap between import duties of crude edible oils and refined edible oils. India imported edible oils worth Rs 1.17 lakh crore, an all-time high, in the 2020-21 oil marketing year ended October, mainly due to a sharp rise in global prices. COOIT feels that its high time the central and state governments focus on increasing domestic production of oilseeds. "We urge the government to launch a dedicated scheme in the upcoming budget with a significant allocation to encourage farmers for cultivation of various oilseeds crops like mustard, soyabean and sunflower," COOIT chairperson Suresh Nagpal said. The government had in August 2021 launched the National Mission on Edible Oils - Oil Palm (NMEO-OP) with a financial outlay of Rs 11,040 crore to boost domestic production of palm oil. "A similar initiative should be undertaken to increase the cultivation of mustard," he said. "Like wheat and rice, a small quantity of <keyword id="589337" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="mustard-oil" source="Orion">mustard oil</keyword> can be supplied every month to over 80 crore beneficiaries covered under the National Food Security Act at a subsidised rate. This will prompt farmers to cultivate mustard," the COOIT chairperson said. The government has offered an increased MSP for mustard this year and the results have started showing with the area under mustard cultivation likely to increase by 25 per cent and mustard production estimated to be at 110 lakh tonnes. "If the government creates a buffer stock of 25 lakh tones of mustard, it will further encourage mustard cultivation and also act as a price stabilization mechanism in case of sharp fluctuations in mustard prices as it was witnessed during 2021," Nagpal said. The association also strongly said that the difference between import duty on crude edible oils and refined edible oils should be larger to protect the interest of domestic processors. Earlier the difference was 11 per cent, which is now at 5.5 per cent. "This is adversely impacting crude palm oil (CPO) refining industry in India and hence, duty differential needs to be increased,a the statement said. Centre should create buffer stock of mustard: Oil industry association

Ford on Tuesday announced plans to turn <a href="http://www.popsci.com/article/cars/future-your-car-interior-could-be-made-tomatoes">Heinz tomato waste into material for its vehicles</a>, according to Popular Science.
Specifically, the car company would take dried tomato skins, <a href="http://money.cnn.com/2014/06/10/autos/ford-heinz/">manufacture them into small pellets</a>, and use them for the car's wiring brackets or small storage bins (like the ones that hold your coins). 
According to Ford, Heinz uses two million tons of tomatoes annually for its ketchup - whose waste could be turned into a lot of wiring brackets. 
"We are delighted that the technology has been validated," said Vidhu Nagpal, associate director, packaging R&amp;D for Heinz. "Although we are in the very early stages of research, and many questions remain, we are excited about the possibilities this could produce for both Heinz and Ford, and the advancement of sustainable 100% plant-based plastics."
They believe by reusing tomato fiber, they can reduce the amount of petroleum chemicals in manufacturing and their impact on the road. 
Ford also has collaborations with Coca-Cola, Nike, and Procter &amp; Gamble to work on sustainability in manufacturing.

Ford Has A Plan To Make Car Parts Out Of Tomatoes

If you have been planning to buy shares from <keyword id="94550" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Sky">Tata Sky</keyword>, this might be quite disheartening for you. The Tata co-owned DTH company has shelved plans for an initial public offering (<keyword id="6354763" type="EVENT" weightage="20" keywordseo="IPO">IPO</keyword>). Having run in to high debts it is now planning to raise Rs 1,800 crore ($300 million) from <keyword id="34499" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="private-equity">private equity</keyword> firms. 
 As per a news report in The Economic Times, Tata Sky had planned to list the venture and raise Rs 2,000 crore by selling 25% stake in 2013. It had even shortlisted investment banks <keyword id="44473" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Citigroup">Citigroup</keyword> Capital Markets, <keyword id="48670" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Morgan-Stanley">Morgan Stanley</keyword> India <keyword id="45369" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="equities">Equities</keyword> and <keyword id="196980" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kotak-Mahindra-Capital-Co">Kotak Mahindra Capital Co</keyword> to manage the issue. 
 From a reliable source, the ET has learnt, Citi and Morgan Stanley have been retained but now the mandate is to raise PE <keyword id="6357455" type="EVENT" weightage="20" keywordseo="Funding">funding</keyword>. The company has been bleeding under high debt and slower sales pick-up, and has revised its valuation expectations after the bankers didn't get initial demand from global institutional investors. 
ET could not independently verify these names. Confirming that the company has shelved its listing plans, Harit Nagpal, chief executive officer of Tata Sky in an SMS response said: "All our cash requirements have been and will continue to be met by existing shareholders." 
Data from Capitaline shows that in 2013-14, at a standalone basis, the company made a loss of Rs 280.4 crore on net sales of Rs 3,023.2 crore compared with a net loss of Rs 378.9 crore on sales of Rs 2,286 crore recorded in the previous fiscal. Finacials for FY15 were not available. 
 
In comparison, Dish TV, Asia's largest direct-to-home service operator, has a market capitalisation ofRs 10,319.56 crore. In FY14-15, it clocked Rs 2,781.64 crore of revenues and a Rs 796-crore EBITDA and aRs 1.01-crore net profit on a consolidated basis. 
 <keyword id="6355725" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Group">Tata Group</keyword> holds 60% stake in Tata Sky along with <keyword id="57162" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Rupert-Murdoch">Rupert Murdoch</keyword>'s 21st Century Fox owning around 30% stake. PE firm <keyword id="6367519" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Temasek">Temasek</keyword>, through its arm <keyword id="1675260" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bay-Tree-Investments">Bay Tree Investments</keyword> and <keyword id="645978" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Opportunities-Fund">Tata Opportunities Fund</keyword> (TOF) holds the residual stake in the company.

"It is extremely heartening to see that our initiative has received the support of such stalwarts. Our aim at Zee Theatre is to support the fraternity, the generous donations will go a long way to help them during these trying times," Kejriwal said in a statement. Kher said he instantly came on board to be a part of the fundraiser as he shares a "deep and personal connection" with theatre halls. Neha Nagpal and Aman Dua, who are in Paris for their honeymoon, are scared and clueless about what to do next. 
 
Their phones rang insanely and their Facebook and Twitter accounts were flooded with queries and worries asking them if they were safe. 
 
The couple, who got married on November 05 and headed to Europe for their honeymoon on November 13, are safe and fine but are quiet scared and very obviously shaken. 
 
The couple are staying near the Bataclan Hall, where the deadliest attacks took place when gunmen wearing suicide belts and jackets stormed inside the concert hall, firing indiscriminately, killing at least 80 people. 
 
“We are in a state of shock. We were strolling down the street to the hotel. The moment we entered our hotel, someone told us they heard blasts and that armed attacks had apparently taken place. We both are safe by god’s grace but we are petrified too. We couldn’t sleep all night and heard noises of police cars and ambulances. We are not even stepping out of the hotel,” said Neha.

I was tired. I was burned out. And I was no longer enjoying my job as CEO and founder of <a href="https://teachable.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Teachable</a>. Teachable was my life's work at that point. I was 24 when I started it, and I spent the next seven years building up Teachable, a subscription education platform that helps people create online courses — and get paid for it. It's sort of like how Shopify, an e-commerce platform, provides a place for people to sell physical products online. Teachable helps people build digital storefronts to sell their knowledge.When I first came up with the idea in 2013, I was passionate about the future of online education. I was 24, a few years out from graduating from University of California, Berkeley, and I was even teaching online courses in New York at the time. I had an idea that in the future more people were going to set up businesses to sell information and knowledge they had, rather than physical goods. And I ran with the idea.What started as a side project, which I called Fedora at the time, eventually grew into a company with over a 100 employees. I really enjoyed running Teachable for the first five years. But during that time Teachable took off. The demand was more than we ever imagined. What Teachable used to earn as a company within a year, we were suddenly earning in a matter of weeks. People were setting up all kinds of business through Teachable — courses on computer programming and marketing, to dance, gardening, and yoga. By 2021, the last year I oversaw the company, the platform had grown to 30 million students and 50,000 creators. That year, we had <a href="https://twitter.com/ankurnagpal/status/1345013603661967361" target="_blank" rel="noopener">50 people make a million dollars in a year, and two people make over $10 million in a year.</a>Stepping down from leading Teachable was a hard decision to make. Initially, I was steadfast about wanting to be the person running my company. Keeping with the times, the Tata Play Binge service has now been available to all users and there is no requirement of having a DTH connection from the company. Tata Play Binge says that a single subscription offers access to 27 national, international and regional applications in 13 languages, including Disney+ Hotstar, ZEE5 and SonyLIV on mobile, desktop and television. If one subscribes to Tata Play Binge, one doesn’t have to take individual subscriptions to OTT platforms. The company’s plans allow up to four users to use the application at once to stream their favourite content. "Availability of many apps has made subscription to and search for content cumbersome for OTT viewers. Our years of experience in helping TV viewers subscribe to content of their choice and building an intuitive user interface that makes the discovery of content easy, has helped us create a similar platform, this time for OTT,” said Harit Nagpal, managing director and chief executive officer, Tata Play.
