New Delhi [India], June 23 (ANI): The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare postponed the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (<keyword id="6361994" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="NEET" source="Orion">NEET</keyword> PG) Examination on Saturday, which was scheduled to be held on Sunday, and said that a fresh date will be announced at the earliest. The NEET-PG exams were scheduled to be held on June 23. "Taking into consideration, the recent incidents of allegations regarding the integrity of certain competitive examinations, the Ministry of Health has decided to undertake a thorough assessment of the robustness of the processes of the NEET-PG Entrance Examination, conducted by the National Board of Examination for medical students," the ministry statement read. "It has accordingly been decided, as a precautionary measure, to postpone the NEET-PG Entrance Examination, scheduled to be held on 23rd June, 2024. The fresh date of this examination will be notified at the earliest," the ministry added. "The Ministry of Health sincerely regrets the inconvenience caused to the students. This decision has been taken in the best interests of the students and to maintain the sanctity of the examination process," the health ministry said. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) was fully prepared to conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) Post-Graduate (PG) 2024. Speaking exclusively to ANI, Dr Rakesh Sharma, OSD to President and Member, Governing Body, NBEMS said, "All eyes of the nation are on NBEMS for the conduct of NEET PG 2024 and we will not let down the hope of the nation. We will conduct the test through a computer-based test (CBT) mode throughout the country." On Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) for successfully delivering and maintaining transparency, he said, "NBEMS has robust SOPs for conducting exams because of which NBEMS has been successfully delivering the exams year after year. These SOPs are stringently followed. NBEMS has worked very hard on maintaining the secrecy of the question paper and there is no chance that there will be any leakage of the question paper." He further said that NBEMS is supported by medical colleges, faculty, MoHFW, Flying Squads, Deans and Principals, Vice-chancellor and other agencies, "NBEMS has support from various medical colleges, faculty, MoHFW and other agencies. NBEMS has already briefed the chief secretaries and DGP of all states for safe and secure conduct of the exam." The <keyword id="581232" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="National-Testing-Agency" source="Orion">National Testing Agency</keyword> (<keyword id="654916" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="NTA" source="Orion">NTA</keyword>), which conducted the NEET-UG exams, is facing criticism over alleged irregularities in the exams. This resulted in several protests across the country, with protestors and political parties demanding to disband the NTA. An unprecedented 67 candidates achieved a perfect score of 720 marks out of 720, which added to the concerns. The <keyword id="19932587" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ministry-of-education" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="ministry of education" meta.hostid="83" meta.entityid="ministry of education">Ministry of Education</keyword> said it has constituted a high-level committee of experts to make recommendations on reforms in the mechanism of the examination process, improvements in data security protocols and the functioning of the NTA. The 7-member committee, led by ISRO former chairman Dr K. Radhakrishnan, will submit its report to the ministry in the next two months. "In order to ensure transparent, smooth and fair conduct of examinations through the National Testing Agency (NTA), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education constituted a High-Level Committee of Experts to make recommendations on Reform in mechanism of examination process improvement in data security protocols and the structure and functioning of National Testing Agency," the ministry said.

Centre postpones NEET-PG exam, fresh date to be announced soon

The Centre on Thursday told the <keyword id="19895345" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Supreme-Court" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="Supreme Court" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="Supreme Court">Supreme Court</keyword> that the decision to give <keyword id="21375140" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="grace-marks" source="keywords">grace marks</keyword> to 1,563 <keyword id="20055256" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="NEET-UG" source="keywords">NEET-UG</keyword>, 2024 candidates for admission to <keyword id="19968296" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="MBBS" source="keywords">MBBS</keyword>, <keyword id="20007002" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="BDS" source="keywords">BDS</keyword> and others courses has been cancelled and they will be given an option to take a re-test on June 23. A vacation bench of justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta was told by the counsel for the Centre and the <keyword id="19904021" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="National-Testing-Agency" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="National Testing Agency" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="National Testing Agency">National Testing Agency</keyword> (NTA) that the students, who were given grace marks, will be given an option to take the re-test. The court said it will not stay the counselling process for admissions. If the candidates, out of the 1,563, do not wish to take up the retest then their earlier marks, sans the grace marks, will be given for the purposes of the results. The results of the re-test will be declared on June 30 and the counselling for admission in the MBBS, BDS, other courses will start on July 6, the Centre said. Taking note of the submissions, the bench said all the pleas, including the one filed by Alakh Pandey, the chief executive of EdTech firm Physics Wallah over the issue of award of grace marks, will be taken up for hearing on July 8. They also include the petitions seeking cancellation of NEET-UG, 2024 on account of allegation of question paper leaks and other malpractices. The examination was held by the NTA on May 5 across 4,750 centres and around 24 lakh candidates took it. The results were expected to be declared on June 14 but were announced on June 4, apparently because the evaluation of the answer sheets got completed earlier. The allegations such as question paper leak and the grant of grace marks to over 1,500 medical aspirants have led to protests and filing of cases in seven high courts as also the Supreme Court. As many as 67 students scored a perfect 720, unprecedented in the NTA's history, with six from a centre in Haryana's Faridabad figuring in the list, raising suspicions about irregularities. Scores of students protested in Delhi on June 10 seeking a probe into alleged irregularities. It has been alleged that grace marks contributed to 67 students sharing the top rank. The NEET-UG examination is conducted by the NTA for admissions to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other related courses in government and private institutions across the country. This comes as the Supreme Court allowed the National Testing Agency to conduct phase 2 of the examination. “In view of the circumstances which have necessitated the postponement of the examination in the past and in view of the prevailing circumstances, we consider it appropriate to grant permission to the National Testing Agency to conduct a second part of the NEET (UG) 2019 for the COVID affected students and for those in containment zones on October 14, 2020,” the bench said. <keyword id="10093222" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="neet-re-exam">NEET re-exam</keyword> will be held between 2 to 5 pm tomorrow. NEET counselling 2020 registrations begin today: Here’s all you need to know

The University of Delhi also abbreviated as DU is a public central university created in 1922. DU offers a wide range of courses in the under graduation, graduation, doctoral levels besides many diploma courses across a diverse range of fields like humanities, science, commerce, management, law, and engineering. Here we discuss how to get admission to the DU for the various graduate programs. Entry into Delhi University Admissions to DU are based on merit. The candidates seeking admission to the various courses need to clear an entrance examination conducted by NATA. For management courses, the scores of the CAT examination will be considered. For providing admissions to the dental and medical courses, NEET scores will be taken into account. Eligibility criteria for admission While seeking admission to the various courses in DU, students must ascertain if they satisfy the eligibility criteria specified by the university. Students of any age can seek admission to the various courses excepting in courses where the regulatory authorities including MCI, BCI, DCI and AICTE have specified the age limit. For taking admission to the various graduation courses the students must have completed 10+2 education in their school level with the main subjects related to the courses they wish to pursue in the graduation level. Entrance examination pattern The entrance examination pattern of the DU consists of multiple choice questions excepting in case of admission to language courses. The total duration of the entrance examination will be two hours. The students will have to take the entrance tests on computer-based mode. For UG courses, each question carries four marks with one negative mark for a wrong answer. The syllabus for the entrance tests for the UG courses will be based on the topics students studied in their plus 2 levels in their respective streams. The way to score well in the DU entrance exams for graduation courses includes becoming familiar with the exam syllabus, mastering the exam preparation materials available in the market, and practicing the previous year question papers. Admission process after the entrance examinations The results of the various entrance exams will be announced online in the month of July. For each of the categories, a separate merit list will be prepared by the university. The students are required to take a print out of the results for moving ahead with the subsequent admission process. For admission to the various merit-based UG courses, the university will announce the cutoff. The same will be published on the official website of the DU. The cut off will vary year on year depending on the demand of the seats in the given course. Candidates scoring the marks specified in the cut off can apply for admission. Scanned copies of the required documents will have to be uploaded online and once the admission is approved, the candidates will have to pay the admission fee online.
