Domestic smartphone brand <keyword id="19895414" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="lava" source="keywords">Lava</keyword> on Tuesday launched a new smartphone -- the <keyword id="20837015" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="blaze-curve" source="keywords">Blaze Curve</keyword> 5G, with a 64MP camera and 6.67-inch 120Hz 3D Curved AMOLED display. Starting at Rs 17,999, the smartphone comes in two colour variants -- Iron Glass and <keyword id="20837016" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="viridian-glass" source="keywords">Viridian Glass</keyword>. It will be available for purchase on Amazon.in, Lava E-store and across the Lava Retail Network from March 11. "Developed to meet the aspirations of Indian consumers in the sub-20K price range, our aim with the Blaze series is to provide a world-class experience to our customers," <keyword id="20837017" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sunil-raina" source="keywords">Sunil Raina</keyword>, Managing Director, <keyword id="19923300" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="lava-international" source="keywords">Lava International</keyword>, said in a statement. The smartphone comes powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor and is equipped with 8GB RAM and 128/256GB ROM. According to the company, it comes with a Premium AG Glass Back design and boasts a 64MP primary rear camera (Sony sensor) with EIS support along with 8MP Ultrawide and 2MP Macro with LED Flash. The device comes equipped with a 32MP front camera, ensuring crisp and detailed selfies. It offers a 5000mAh battery and supports fast charging with a 33W charger. The Blaze Curve 5G runs on bloatware-free, ad-free and clean Android 13. The company said that it will be providing regular software updates, including assured upgrades to Android 14 and 15, along with quarterly security enhancement for three years. Lava Blaze Curve 5G launched in India starting at ₹17,999

<keyword id="19894961" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="apple" source="keywords">Apple</keyword> on Monday unveiled a new <keyword id="19927330" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="macbook-air" source="keywords">MacBook Air</keyword> with the powerful M3 chip, and the 13-inch and 15-inch devices feature a thin and light design, up to 18 hours of battery life, <keyword id="20830443" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="liquid-retina" source="keywords">Liquid Retina</keyword> display and new capabilities. With M3, MacBook Air is up to 60 per cent faster than the model with the M1 chip and up to 13 times faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Air, the company said in a statement. The new capabilities include support for up to two external displays and up to two times faster Wi-Fi than the previous generation. "From college students pursuing their degrees, to business users who need powerful productivity, or anyone who simply wants the unmatched combination of performance, portability, and industry-leading battery life, all in a fanless design, the new MacBook Air continues to be the world's best thin and light laptop," said <keyword id="20364351" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="greg-joswiak" source="keywords">Greg Joswiak</keyword>, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. Customers can now order the new MacBook Air with M3 and it will arrive on March 8. The 13-inch MacBook Air with M3 starts at Rs 114,900 and Rs 104,900 for education, and the 15‑inch MacBook Air with M3 starts at Rs 134,900 and Rs 124,900 for education. Both are available in midnight, starlight, silver, and space grey colours. The 13-inch MacBook Air with M2 chip now starts at Rs 99,900 and Rs 89,900 for education, informed the company. Featuring a powerful 8-core CPU, up to a 10-core GPU, and support for up to 24GB of unified memory, the new MacBook Air supports hardware-accelerated mesh shading and ray tracing. MacBook Air supports cloud-based solutions, enabling users to run powerful productivity and creative apps that tap into the power of AI, such as Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365, Canva, and Adobe Firefly, said the company. The Nothing Phone (2a) is available in two colour options, Black and White, just like the company’s earlier smartphones. Coming to the camera department, the Nothing Phone (2a) features a dual camera setup at the back consisting of a 50MP primary camera with OIS and a secondary 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera. On the front, the device features a 32MP selfie camera. The Nothing Phone (2a) is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. The smartphone comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor and is IP54 rated for water and dust resistance. Nothing Phone (2a) smartphone debuts in India, priced starting at ₹23,999

German carmaker Mercedes-Benz expects <keyword id="19895063" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="india" source="keywords">India</keyword> to become its third biggest market in its 'Region Overseas' over the next 2-3 years with demand anticipated to remain strong for luxury products, according to a senior company executive. The Region Overseas for <keyword id="20034825" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="mercedes-benz" source="keywords">Mercedes Benz</keyword> comprises 118 countries, excluding North America, Europe and China. India is the fifth largest market in the region after Japan, South Korea, Australia and Turkey. The sales gap between India and Turkey is around 8,000 units per year. "Our Region Overseas markets which encompass 118 markets across the world and India happens to be market number five for us. So you can imagine the relevance and importance it serves not only today, but also for the future of the Mercedes Benz brand," Mercedes-Benz AG Head of Region Overseas, <keyword id="20836954" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sagree-sardien" source="keywords">Sagree Sardien</keyword> told reporters here. When asked about the expected timeframe to achieve the target, she stated, "We are convinced that with the way the Indian market is developing, we should see this happening in the next two to three years." Terming India a strategic market for the brand, <keyword id="20836953" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sardien" source="keywords">Sardien</keyword> noted that the company has seen sales of its high-end models grow in double digits for the last couple of years and expects the same to continue this year and beyond. She noted that the company will add 12 new models, including three battery electric vehicles, in the market this year. The company also plans to tap smaller cities as it looks to establish sales outlets in 10 new locations ranging from Jammu to <keyword id="19910725" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="kottayam" source="keywords">Kottayam</keyword> to scale operations, Sardien stated. Mercedes-Benz India reported its highest ever sales of 17,408 units in 2023. Sardien said the electrification journey in India is picking up slowly for Mercedes-Benz with 4 per cent of total sales in the country coming from EVs. "I completely believe that we will see a double-digit (growth) in electrification for our product range within this market," she said. "Customers' preferences are obviously at a much slower pace than the demand we expected," she said adding the company would go according to the transformation of customers. Sardien noted that the company will not change its strategic direction. "It is clear that the future is electric for us, but we ensure that we cater for our customers' changing preferences and where market conditions are actually allowing," she said. When asked about the potential of the overall luxury car market in India, Sardien said it can touch 1 lakh unit mark probably by the end of this decade. "But I think there are some fundamental things that need to happen in the market and it is highly dependent on how customers transition here between the combustion engine and the battery electric vehicle architecture," she added. The luxury car market in India is around 47,000 units per annum and remains a miniscule part of the overall passenger vehicle segment which crossed the 41 lakh units mark last year.
