<ul><li>A total of 75 component makers have been approved by the government for incentives under the auto component PLI scheme.</li><li>Maruti Suzuki, Hero MotoCorp, Toyota, Motherson Sumi are among companies that have been approved for the scheme.</li><li>Auto company shares were among the outliers performing well in the weak market on Tuesday.</li></ul>About 75 auto component makers have been approved by the government for incentive under the production linked incentive (PLI) scheme. Maruti Suzuki, Hero MotoCorp, Toyota, Motherson Sumi, Bosch, Mitsubishi Electric and Tata Autocomp are among the list of companies that have been approved for the scheme. PLI is a form of incentive from one entity to another, such as from the government to industries. It provides incentives to domestic industries to boost local production. The auto PLI scheme is aimed at giving a push to advanced automotive technologies and manufacturing of electric vehicles in India. The government said that the PLI scheme for the auto sector envisages to overcome the cost disabilities of the industry for manufacture of advanced automotive technology products in India. The incentive structure will encourage industry to make fresh investments for indigenous global supply chains of advanced automotive technology products. Reportedly over 100 companies had applied for the PLI scheme. A report by CNBC-TV18 said that incentives in the range of 8-13% would be given to companies that are making components for safety, flex fuels, compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG), emission control, passenger convenience, fuel efficiency, and sensors, while a higher range of incentives — 13 to 18% would be given to companies making components for hydrogen and electric vehicles. Motherson Group to reportedly acquire Italian auto components maker Marelli – here’s what it means

New Delhi, Feb 10 () Shares of auto component major Motherson Sumi Systems on Monday fell by 5.5 per cent after it reported a 38.67 per cent decline in consolidated net profit for the third quarter ended on December 31, 2019. On the BSE, the stock plunged 5.56 per cent to close at Rs 124.95. During the day, it plummeted 8.23 per cent to Rs 121.40. On the NSE, the scrip fell 5.17 per cent to close at Rs 125.45. Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd on Monday reported a 38.67 per cent decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 340.32 crore for the third quarter ended on December 31, 2019. The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 554.99 crore in the same quarter last fiscal, Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (MSSL) said in a regulatory filing. Revenue from operations during the quarter under review stood at Rs 15,436.46 crore, as against Rs 16,233.65 crore in the year-ago period, it added. Motherson Sumi Systems' shares drop 5.5 pc after Q3 earnings

New Delhi, Feb 10 () Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd on Monday reported 38.6 per cent decline in its consolidated profit at Rs 340.32 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2019. The company had posted consolidated profit of Rs 554.99 crore in the year-ago period, the filing said. The consolidated income during October-December period declined to Rs 15,739.38 crore, over Rs 16,533.99 crore in the year-ago period. "We have intensified our focus on the areas we control. We continue to strengthen our operations at the unit level around the world and bring our greenfield plants to optimum levels," Motherson Sumi Systems Chairman Chaand Sehgal said. Sehgal further said "thanks to the great spirit and efforts of our teams, we are able to support the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in navigating through challenging conditions in certain markets and also in managing our cash flows wisely." India Inc's overseas investment plunges 46% to $1.12 billion

Prabhat Dairy The markets regulator SEBI has directed Prabhat Dairy to cooperate with the forensic auditor and deposit over ₹1,292 crore in a nationalised bank within seven days until the conclusion of the audit. The auditor was appointed to ascertain manipulation of books of accounts of the firm, misrepresentation of financials or business operations by the company, wrongful diversion of funds by promoters. New Delhi, May 4 () Auto stocks on Monday plunged nearly 12 per cent after top carmakers, including Maruti Suzuki reported zero monthly domestic sales for the first time ever in April after the nationwide lockdown halted output and shut sales network. Shares of Tata Motors tanked 12.45 per cent, Motherson Sumi Systems shares plummeted 12.27 per cent, Apollo Tyres 9.45 per cent, Hero MotoCorp 8.34 per cent, Maruti Suzuki India 8 per cent on the BSE. Ashok Leyland tumbled 7.83 per cent, TVS Motor Company 7.16 per cent, Mahindra &amp; Mahindra 6.95 per cent, Bajaj Auto 6.66 per cent and Eicher Motors 6.30 per cent. The BSE Auto index fell by 6.33 per cent in early trade. Maruti Suzuki India, Hyundai Motor India Ltd, Mahindra &amp; Mahindra, Toyota Kirloskar Motor and MG Motor India reported nil sales as they suspended operations even before the imposition of lockdown on March 25, to check the spread of coronavirus. Maruti Suzuki, which produces more than half of the cars running on Indian roads, said it did not sell any vehicle in the domestic market in April. Shares of Motherson Sumi Systems plummeted 12.51 per cent, Tata Motors tanked 9.88 per cent, Maruti Suzuki India 8.75 per cent, Apollo Tyres 7.69 per cent and Hero MotoCorp 7.61 per cent on the BSE. Bajaj Auto dropped 7.12 per cent, Eicher Motors 6.45 per cent, Ashok Leyland tumbled 5.73 per cent, TVS Motor Company 5.20 per cent and Mahindra &amp; Mahindra 2.66 per cent. The BSE Auto index fell by 6.88 per cent. New Delhi, Mar 23 () Auto stocks plunged up to 20 per cent on Monday as companies have suspended their production due to the coronavirus outbreak. Motherson Sumi Systems cracked 20 per cent and Ashok Leyland fell 18 per cent, Maruti Suzuki India (17.02 per cent), Bajaj Auto (13.95 per cent) and Apollo Tyres (13.86 per cent). Shares of TVS Motor Company settled 12.94 per cent down while that of MRF and Eicher Motors dropped 12.34 per cent and 11.87 per cent, respectively, on the BSE. Likewise, Hero MotoCorp declined 11.07 per cent, Tata Motors (9.95 per cent) and M&amp;M (9.06 per cent). The BSE Auto Index tumbled by 13.35 per cent. The country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp on Sunday said it has suspended production at all its sites across the globe until March 31, 2020 in order to safeguard its employees against coronavirus infections. On Monday, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said Suzuki Motor Gujarat has suspended production at its Gujarat-based plant to check the spread of COVID-19. Suzuki Motor Gujarat manufactures cars on contract basis for MSI. The company has been informed by Suzuki Motor Gujarat Pvt Ltd (SMG) that pursuant to Gujarat government directive to check the spread of COVID-19 transmission, they are closing their plant operations with effect from B-shift from March 23 through March 25, 2020, as per a regulatory filing. Rockman Industries, the auto components arm of the Hero Group, on Monday said it has suspended all operations at its seven manufacturing facilities till March-end due to coronavirus outbreak.
