<ul><li>India is all set to inaugurate, Sardar Patel Gujarat Stadium in <keyword id="118125" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Motera">Motera</keyword>, Ahmedabad in two months. </li><li>The International <keyword id="1521" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Cricket">Cricket</keyword> Council on Saturday posted a picture of the stadium on social media. </li><li>The cricket stadium will host national and international cricket matches and also help build an indoor cricket academy. </li></ul>India is all set to inaugurate Sardar Patel Gujarat Stadium in Ahmedabad in two months.  The exhibition match between Asia XI and World XI in March 2020 is likely to be the first match played in the stadium. The cricket stadium will not only be utilised for national and international cricket matches but will also constitute an indoor cricket academy. <a href="https://populous.com/project/motera-cricket-stadium">According to Populous, the company designing the stadium</a>, “A community academy will be housed under the podium in the stadium, with a dormitory for up to 40 athletes, allowing students from across India and the globe to attend. The academy also has access to six indoor practice pitches and three outdoor practice fields,” Three pitches and a way to soak rain during matches Apart from being the world’s largest, the stadium will consist of three different kinds of pitches — from bouncy, spin friendly, or a mix of both — to suit the need of fast bowlers and spinners. The <keyword id="53892" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Gujarat-Cricket-Association">Gujarat Cricket Association</keyword> (GCA) which is executing the project, is preparing as many as 11 pitches. “Some pitches will be prepared with red soil, while some will be with black soil and some may have a mix of both. While the newly-built Narendra Modi Stadium saw very sparse crowds for the two <keyword id="80591" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Test-matches">Test matches</keyword> that were held in February-end and early March, the <keyword id="83873" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="T20-International">T20 International</keyword> series between India and England that begins on Friday is likely to see much better crowds with over 40,000 tickets already sold, according to local officials. The 1,10,000-capacity stadium is the largest cricket stadium in the world in terms of capacity. The recent India-England Test matches were the first international cricket matches to be held after its reconstruction. "We are expecting a lot more crowd than what we saw in the Test matches. As of now, we have been able to sell over 40,000 tickets. We are expecting that the seats will be filled up for the first T20 International," said a <keyword id="53892" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Gujarat-Cricket-Association">Gujarat Cricket Association</keyword> official. Big crowd likely for 1st India-England T20

Ahmedabad, March 12 (IANS) The Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera will be filled up to 50 per cent of its capacity during the five-match T20I series between India and England that starts on Friday, the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) said. "Considering the COVID-19 pandemic, Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) has decided to use only 50 per cent capacity of the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad for the five T20 Internationals to be played here between India and England from March 12, 2021 to March 20, 2021. All the COVID-19 related precautions have been taken and all standard operating procedures (SOPs) are being followed," said the GCA in its statement. "Up to 50% tickets will be issued on the online and offline ticketing platforms for these matches," GCA vice-president Dhanraj Nathwani said. The GCA further said that the stadium, which also hosted the third and fourth Tests between India and England in February and March, has been sanitised. "All COVID-19 guidelines are being strictly adhered to and special task force committees have been set up to ensure that all required safety measures are implemented and followed," said the GCA. The first T20I will be followed by the second match on March 14, the third on March 16, the fourth T20I on March 18 and the fifth on March 20.
