Mann said Google had become more focused on the enterprise business since it brought in former VMware founder Diane Greene to run its cloud business last November. Even in India, experts say the company is hiring from enterprise technology vendors and is building a base of partners. 
 "India is one of our fastest growing markets. I can't give you number, but yes, we are growing our sales force here,” <keyword id="2977840" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mohit-Pande">Mohit Pande</keyword>, country manager, India and South East Asia, for Google for Work, told ET.

If you are not able to send an email, we know that is a problem for your business. We give customers that comfort along with innovation and flexibility. Office 365 had been growing in the 'healthy double digit range' for the past few years and had even been attracting customers who used other platforms,” Alok Lall, director of Microsoft India'Office division, told ET. 
 Experts say the aggressive scene will probably move one year from now, as they anticipate that <keyword id="6354427" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Apple">Apple</keyword> will enter the brawl. 
 "With Apple and IBM both investing aggressively in productivity and storage (take Apple <keyword id="667357" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="iCloud">iCloud</keyword> and IBM Verse), 2017 will see competition in this space intensify between Google, Microsoft, Apple and IBM,, Anshoo Nandwani, Principal Analyst at Greyhound Research, told ET.

As the cloud services market in India is expected to grow 38% in 2017 to $1.81 billion, <keyword id="6355629" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Google">Google</keyword> is planning to double its headcount in <keyword id="1929669" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Cloud-business">cloud business</keyword> in the country. As per Gartner, <keyword id="4773586" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="indian-cloud-market">Indian cloud market</keyword> is untapped and has a potential to grow. Google wants to tap the business and fight out the competition from Amazon and <keyword id="10387" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Microsoft">Microsoft</keyword>. "We are building our go-to market, which spans across segments and industries. This year we are doubling our team here and we will probably double this again as we move forward," Mohit Pande, country head - India, <keyword id="691847" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Google-Cloud">Google Cloud</keyword>, told ET. Google has invested $30 billion on its cloud platform over the past three years and will be opening its first cloud region in India this year. "India is a large market for us, also a very strategic market. We are investing a lot in India, we are opening a cloud region, we are investing in sales, marketing, customer engineering teams, professional services and partner network. We are building this ecosystem as India is a significant part of our strategy," Pande told ET.

So, now when the company is gearing up for the technology revolution, how could the Internet giant <keyword id="6355629" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Google">Google</keyword> sit silent on it. Be informed that the US-headquartered company has collaborated with consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in order to secure the Digital India projects as well as large enterprise deals. This information was revealed in an Economic Times report. 
 
With this partnership, Google wants to push itself into large e-governance projects and improve the sales for its cloud services in India. This agreement is an extension of a global deal signed in October last year. 
 
Showing excitement about the latest developments, Mohit Pande, country manager, Google for Work India, told ET, "We're delighted to be able to combine PricewaterhouseCoopers' rich client relationships and unparalleled industry knowledge with Google's breadth of technology across cloud, applications and mobile. 
 
He further added, “Together, we're looking forward to providing and building solutions to help Indian companies drive transformation with technology." 
 
In order to look after such projects in India, PwC, the world's second largest professional services network, has constituted a 30-member team. Besides, it is also using its 1,800-people technology team to develop industry-specific solutions built on Google platforms. 
 Arnab Basu, partner, technology practice at <keyword id="148915" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="PWC-India">PwC India</keyword> told the financial daily, "This is a very large global partnership for us wherein we'll not only offer our advisory services but also develop industry-specific solutions along with Google." 
 
"Apart from government and public sector companies, we would be building solutions for industry verticals such as financial services, retail, pharma and healthcare," added Basu. 
 
Google is already working with the government on several projects, including MyGov, the citizen engagement platform of the government of India, to launch a nationwide contest to build a mobile app. 
 
In order to realise the government’s Digital India vision, Google had earlier collaborated with MyGov to develop a mobile app for the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) through a contest.
