The partnership will enable Spotify users in India to access Saregama's entire catalogue that spans across film, Carnatic, Hindustani classical and devotional music in over 25 languages, a statement said. "With the full Saregama catalogue available on <keyword id="6118216" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Spotify-India">Spotify India</keyword>, our users will not only find their favourite retro music across local languages, but also be able to discover more old-school songs through Spotify's locally curated playlists - both editorial and algorithmic," Spotify Director of Global Licensing Paul Smith said. Globally, Spotify has 286 million users including 130 million subscribers, who use the paid version of the music streaming service. Spotify users in India will now be able to listen to artists like Lata Mangeshkar, RD Burman, Mohammed Rafi, Talat Mahmood, Manna Dey, Kalyanji-Anandji, Hemant Kumar and others. They can also tune into Spotify's playlists including This Is Kishore Kumar, This Is Asha Bhosle, Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Starring Rishi Kapoor, Disco Deewane, Punjabi Legacy, and Old Is Gold, among others. "We are happy to partner with Spotify and make our entire catalogue available for listeners across the globe, now including India. New Delhi, June 3 (IANS) Saregama on Wednesday announced a global deal with the social networking giant where Facebook and Instagram users can add music to their posts and stories from Indias oldest music label. The partnership will allow users to choose from a rich catalogue of over 100,000 songs across several different genres including film songs, devotional music, ghazals and indipop in more than 25 languages. People will also be able to add songs to their Facebook Profile. "We are pleased with this partnership as now millions of Facebook users will be able to add music from our vast catalogue to stories and videos they create and share," said Vikram Mehra, Managing Director of Saregama India. Starting from today, people will be able to use music from legends likes Lata Mangeshkar, Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi, Asha Bhosle, Gulzar, Jagjit Singh, R.D Burman, Kalyanji Anandji, Geeta Dutt and Laxmikant Pyarelal, making their experience on the platform more vibrant, personal and engaging. Mumbai, Music label Saregama on Tuesday said it has inked a music licensing deal with homegrown short-video app Josh by VerSe Innovation. With this deal, users of Josh can now access old and new songs from the Saregama library with over 1.3 <keyword id="10692564" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="lakh-songs">lakh songs</keyword> to create <keyword id="10692565" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="innovative-content">innovative content</keyword>. Saregama said it will license its entire catalogue to Josh allowing users to create content inspired from its music library in diverse Indian <keyword id="6360075" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Languages">languages</keyword> like Hindi, Bhojpuri, Bengali, Tamil, Marathi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Punjabi and Gujarati, amongst many others. Josh app expands its musical library with 1.3 lakh songs from Saregama in 25 different languages

New Delhi, Singer <keyword id="806680" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Narendra-Chanchal">Narendra Chanchal</keyword>, who redefined popular devotional singing in India, is no more. According to reports, Narendra Chanchal died on Friday in the city. He was 80. Celebrities like <keyword id="31278" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Lata-Mangeshkar">Lata Mangeshkar</keyword>, Daler Mehndi and <keyword id="6389563" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Madhur-Bhandarkar">Madhur Bhandarkar</keyword> have paid tributes to the late singer. Chanchal shot to fame with his '<keyword id="24503" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="jagran">Jagran</keyword>' hits in the seventies and the eighties, particularly songs dedicated to Sherawali Mata. His ode to Sherawali Mata "Chalo bulava aaya hai" continues to be popular till date. Chanchal is best known for his live performances. The singer also made a mark in Bollywood. He is known for rendering the title song of the 1974 Amitabh Bachchan film "Benaam", composed by RD Burman. In the same year, he also sang "Mehngai mar gayi" for the film "Roti Kapda Aur Makaan". He also famously sang "Beshak mandir masjid todo" in Raj Kapoor's 1973 superhit "Bobby", starring Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia. He also sang "Tu ne mujhe bulaya" with Mohammed Rafi for the hit 1980 film "Aasha". Playback legend Lata Mangeshkar expressed her grief over his demise, tweeting: "He was a very good human being." She hoped he rests in peace. Singer-composer Vishal Dadlani shared that "Shri #NarendraChanchal ji will be remembered forever through the songs he sang. I doubt anyone will ever walk up to Vaishnodevi without hearing his voice resounding through the hills". Actor Manoj Bajpayee tweeted: "What a singer with such inspiring voice.singing your songs now in your memory.god bless you soul with peace." Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar tweeted: "Saddened to hear demise of Singer #NarendraChanchal ji. He will be remembered for his bhajans and some remarkable songs in Hindi films, My heartfelt condolences to his admirers and family. Om Shanti." Singer Daler Mehndi also felt "deeply saddened to learn that iconic and most loved #NarendraChanchal ji has left us for the heavenly abode. In prayers for his soul to rest in peace.
