As many as 35% of diabetics also suffer from obesity. The number of overweight adults otherwise also surged to 21% in 2016. A red notice is a request to locate and arrest a criminal on the run, but not an international arrest warrant. Here’s how the 13-month chase for Nirav Modi came to an end

New Delhi, The <keyword id="40807" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="election-commission" source="Orion">Election Commission</keyword> (EC) issued a show-cause notice to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday for his "panauti", "pickpocket" and "loan waiver for the super rich" jibes at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and asked him to respond by Saturday. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had approached the poll panel against the <keyword id="6316776" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="former-congress-president" source="Orion">former Congress president</keyword>, saying it was "unbecoming" of a "very senior leader" to use such language. The EC reminded Gandhi that the Model Code of Conduct prohibits leaders from making unverified allegations against political rivals. The Congress leader used those words targeting the prime minister at recent rallies in poll-bound Rajasthan. In its representation to the EC, the BJP had asserted that the allegation of grant of waivers to industrialists of Rs 14,00,000 crore over the last nine years was "not borne out on facts". The EC notice said the expression "panauti" ex-facie falls in the equity of the prohibition of section 123 of the Representation of the People Act, dealing with corrupt practices. Clause 2, sub section (ii) of section 123 states that any person who induces or attempts to induce a candidate or an elector to believe that he, or any person in whom he is interested, will become or will be rendered an object of divine displeasure or spiritual censure, shall be deemed to interfere with the free exercise of the electoral right of such a candidate or elector, the notice reminded Gandhi. The Congress leader had used the "panauti" barb against Modi in a poll speech in Rajasthan as the prime minister had attended the World Cup cricket final that India lost to Australia after 10 consecutive wins in the tournament. A Hindi slang, "panauti" loosely refers to someone who brings bad luck. The former Congress president took the "pickpocket" dig at Modi during a poll speech on Wednesday, alleging that the prime minister diverts people's attention while industrialist Gautam Adani picks their pockets. This is how pickpockets operate, he had alleged. The notice also recalled a general advisory issued by the EC, in which the poll panel had expressed concerns at the "plummeting level of political discourse" during electioneering. The commission also told Gandhi about a Supreme Court observation that if freedom of speech and expression is protected by Article 19(1)(a) of the Constitution, the right to reputation is also considered to be an inextricable part of the right to life protected by Article 21 and "balancing these two rights is a constitutional necessity". "Accordingly, you are requested to provide your explanation on the allegation made and to show causes as to why action as deemed fit for alleged violation of Model Code of Conduct and relevant penal provisions is not initiated by the commission. "Your reply, if any, be reached by 6.00 pm of November 25. If no reply is received by then, action deemed fit will be taken by the commission," the notice said.

"Officials in both countries believe they face a common external threat: terrorism. The new deals are expected to be finalized in the coming two months, and are reported to be worth $1.5 billion. Two years after the contract is signed, India will see the delivery of the 8,000 missiles, which are a part of Modi's $250-billion plan to modernize the armed forces by 2025 to tackle tensions with China and Pakistan, bordering countries with which India shares a war history.

Yes, they won’t have to bear the typical food of Rio and will get the desi Indian food at the <keyword id="6397247" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Games-Village">Games Village</keyword>. 
 
In an effort led by <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=prime+minister+narendra+modi&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Prime Minister Narendra Modi</a>, it is being ensured that the food menu at the games village includes national cuisine for the first time. 
 
This means our athletes are going to get an array of Indian dishes like dal makhani, vegetable pulao, paneer masala and sambhar to tandoori chicken, egg bhurji, tandoori roti, raita and even sweets such as soan papdi and gulab jamun, Indian athletes can look forward to savouring meals of their choice at the gruelling competition. 
 
"All of this has been carefully put together to make the players feel at home. It has been scientifically proved that the food one eats at home can make you mentally and physically fit," Sports Secretary Rajiv Yadav told ET. 
 
"This time we are flying our players much earlier for them to focus better. We wanted to make sure that they get food they are used to so as to boost their performance." he said. 
 
Earlier, such request was turned down by the Olympic Games organising committee, saying the Indian contingent had always been small and the food would go waste. 
 
But after a series of mails and lot of convincing, the committee made Indian cuisine available at the village. 
 
"We assured them that we will send a big contingent this time, for a longer time, and not just Indian players but every participant from Southeast Asian countries of Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, and several other countries will want to eat Indian food and that they must give the cuisine a chance," a senior ministry official told ET. 
 
India is sending its largest contingent ever with 119 participants at Olympics that begin from August 5. 
 
Meanwhile, the push for Indian food is part of the Modi government's Rs 135-crore Olympic Games push that started in January 2015 with the programme Target Olympic Podium (TOP) that included 24-hour control room monitoring, mental trainers, Australian coaches, Dutch scientific trainers and a month-long stay in Rio to get used to the place. 
 
Reportedly, Modi had instructed that the expenditure on energy supplements, mental and physical training, travelling and out-of-pocket allowance for the players was doubled to ensure they put up their best performance at the event. 
 
For the first time India has spent at least Rs 10 crore on almost every sport, especially in potential medal areas.

The latest research from a Morgan Stanley's tobacco analysts reveals&#xa0;two major trends in teen smoking habits.
First, high schoolers are smoking less and less cigarettes. Only 10.3% have reportedly smoked a cigarette in the past 30 days, down from 27.4% in 2000.
And second, the gap between marijuana and cigarette usage is widening. Until 2008, cigarettes were the preferred option, but now weed is clearly the go-to for those in high-school.
So what does this mean for big tobacco?
"In our view, any industry participation in the legalized marijuana industry is highly unlikely barring the passage of federal legislation legalizing its sale and usage, although we would expect the industry to closely monitor the market's development at the state level," writes Morgan Stanley's Matthew Grainger.
But these companies may soon be asked to do more than just monitor the situation. Other analysts argue that big tobacco companies will have to start addressing questions about marijuana sooner than they think.
"With this quickly changing view of marijuana across the US," <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/rbc-analyst-on-marijuana-2014-12">wrote RBC Capital Markets' Nik Modi</a> earlier in December, "we believe it is only a matter of time until investors start asking questions about how it will fit into the bigger picture."
"And while every tobacco company management we have spoken to on this topic has been unwilling to discuss it, we believe full federal legalization of marijuana in the US would likely lead tobacco companies to reconsider this space," Modi added.
So as Americans (especially young high schoolers)&#xa0;increasingly turn towards marijuana, big tobacco companies are really going to have to start thinking about the numbers soon.
