New Delhi, Jan 10 () The Centre is mulling introducing mobile testing labs at 21 ports across the country in a bid to ensure imported fertilisers reach farmers on time after a quality check, government sources said on Friday.
<p> Currently, imported fertilisers are tested by Faridabad-based Central Fertiliser Control and Quality Institute (CFCQI) as well as three regional centres that come under the agriculture ministry.
</p><p> As per the Fertiliser (Movement Control) Order, imported fertilisers are permitted for distribution only after testing the commodity.
</p><p> "However, due to delay in testing on part of CFCQI, consignments get stuck at ports. There were instances in the past, when some consignments were released without waiting for the test reports on pressure to meet farmers' demand in a particular season," a highly placed government source said.
</p><p> When the tested samples were found to be of inferior quality after releasing the consignments from ports, their distribution was later stopped at different levels, the source said, adding this was one of the cases.
</p><p> But now the issue is being addressed seriously as the government is committed towards supplying quality fertilisers to the farming community, the source added.
</p><p> To keep a check, another source said, the fertiliser ministry has recently issued an advisory asking importing companies to stop distribution of fertilisers if they see any issue about the quality and the same should be informed to the ministry immediately.
</p><p> The other plan that the ministry is working on is to set up mobile testing labs at 21 ports to ensure the tests are done quickly on a real-time basis and consignments are released for distribution without any delay, the source added.
</p><p> It may be noted that import of fertilisers other than urea is free and on private account it is done under the open general licence. Various companies import fertilisers as per their commercial judgement.
</p><p> The month-wise demand is assessed and projected by the agriculture ministry in consultation with state governments before the commencement of each crop season. Based on that, the fertiliser ministry allocates fertilisers to states by issuing monthly agreed supply plan as per the Fertiliser (Movement Control) Order.
</p><p> State governments are regularly advised to coordinate with manufacturers and importers of fertilisers for streamlining the supplies through timely placement of indents.
</p> The country imported 188.43 lakh tonne of fertilisers during 2018-29. Of this, urea comprised 74.81 lakh tonne, Di-Ammonium Phosphate 66.02 lakh tonne, Muriate of Potash (MoP) 42.14 lakh tonne and NPK at 5.46 lakh tonne, as per the government data.  LUX  ANU

<p>The app would allow customers to order and pay online. The customer could pick up their food curbside, at the drive-thru window, or in the store, <a href="http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-09-10/mcdonald-s-testing-mobile-order-app-for-u-s-stores.html">reports Leslie Patton</a> at Bloomberg News. </p>
<p>The app is being tested in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Austin, Texas, <a href="http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-09-10/mcdonald-s-testing-mobile-order-app-for-u-s-stores.html">Patton reports</a>. </p>
<p>McDonald's sees its new app as groundbreaking in the <keyword id="41941" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="fast-food">fast food</keyword> industry. </p>
<p><span>"While many competitors are publicizing their efforts to get an initial foothold in the mobile arena, no one has developed a comprehensive solution that integrates all the opportunities this technology presents," the company said in a memo obtained by Bloomberg </span></p>
<p>The app is another attempt to <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/future-of-mcdonalds-depends-on-mcwrap-2013-7">attract millennials to the brand</a>. </p>
<p>McDonald's has also tried to appeal to younger customers by offering premium menu items like the Egg White Delight and McWrap. </p>

McDonald's Is Testing A Mobile Ordering App

<p>The company <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/facebook-stops-ad-network-test-2012-12">previously tested such a network</a> but mysteriously abandoned the effort in December last year. The new move occurs coincidentally with <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/twitter-acquires-mobile-ad-network-mopub-for-350-million-will-an-ad-exchange-come-next-2013-9">Twitter's recent move to generate revenue from ads served in off-Twitter mobile ad networks</a>.</p>
<p>If Facebook's test succeeds, such a network could bolt on a huge new revenue stream for the company. Facebook currently gets about <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/facebook-earnings-for-q2-2013-2013-7">$656 million per quarter from mobile advertising</a>. But that revenue is all internal - it comes from Facebook's own web site and mobile app.</p>
<p>That's still a huge sum of money; Facebook's mobile ad business is second only to Google's. The next largest mobile ad network is likely run by Millennial Media, which generates $57 million per quarter. (<a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/millennial-medias-new-mobile-ad-exchange-with-appnexus-2013-9">Millennial just partnered with AppNexus</a> to make it mobile ad reach even greater.)</p>
<p>A Facebook spokesperson gave us this statement:</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">We're currently running a second test to show Facebook ads off Facebook in mobile apps and on mobile sites. Our goal is to improve both targeting and relevancy of the ads people see. Since this is a test, we don't have additional details to share.</p>
<p>The move has been a long time coming. Facebook currently sells <keyword id="35666" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="advertising">advertising</keyword> in two main ways: From clients who pay directly to run ads on Facebook based on Facebook's own targeting data; and in an ad exchange named FBX that uses tracking cookies from other non-Facebook web sites to target users entering the site. Both methods have the same apparent result for consumers: ads show up on Facebook and in their mobile Facebook news feeds.</p>
<p>The change with this new mobile ad network test is that ads triggered by Facebook's targeting data would show up on other companies' mobile web sites and apps. That potentially opens up the entire mobile web and app environment to Facebook advertising of one sort or another.</p>
<p>Our sources tell us that targeting options inside the network would include standard Facebook demographic segments, such as age, gender, and interests.</p>
<p>The move invites comparisons to Twitter, which is gearing up for its own IPO later this year. Twitter recently acquired MoPub for $350 million precisely because MoPub operates non-Twitter ad exchanges and networks. It is expected that Twitter will attempt to leverage data about its own users in order to target them on other apps and web sites.</p>

The march eventually gathered outside the Department of Education in Brooklyn.</p><p>During the demonstration, some protesters knocked over a tent and flipped the table and chairs at a mobile testing center in Union Square in New York.</p><p>New York City's vaccine mandate for school teachers and staff took effect on October 4, the same day as the protest.</p><p>Mayor Bill de Blasio said, as of Monday morning, 95% of the city's 148,000 public school staffers had received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/coronavirus-pandemic-health-new-york-education-new-york-city-bc516b3c5012bd31e8f9a83cb06de18f">Associated Press</a> reported.</p><p>"Our parents need to know their kids will be safe," de Blasio said, citing the AP report. "They entrust us with their children. That's what this mandate is all about. Sources have repeatedly told us that return on investment for Facebook's mobile app ads far outstrips Facebook's regular ads. Facebook has at least <a href="http://www.insidefacebook.com/2013/05/01/3800-developers-bought-facebook-mobile-app-install-ads-driving-25m-downloads/">3,800 app advertisers</a>.</p>
<p>Mobile app install ads simply recommend apps for Facebook users to download. They're widely used by mobile game companies and tech startups - companies whose entire business revolves around apps. On Facebook, mobile app install ads have also been of interest to e-commerce and online retail companies, because if you can persuade someone to download a mobile shopping or booking app then a company can potentially generate a high level of lifetime revenue from that customer.</p>
<p>Moreover, Facebook recently doubled down on mobile app ads by adding a new feature, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/facebooks-deb-liu-on-app-downloads-2013-10">mobile app engagement and conversion ads</a>, which basically remind people who clicked on an app ad previously to check out the app again. Facebook would not have launched that product, presumably, if app downloads were not a priority.</p>
<p>Thus, we're told, Twitter regards mobile app ads as low-hanging fruit for ad sales. The logic goes like this: Facebook just reported that 49% of its revenue now comes from mobile. Of that, likely more than half probably comes from mobile app install ads, one source tells us. Mobile app install ads are therefore likely a huge revenue driver for Facebook.</p>
<p>Here's what this means for Twitter: As <a href="https://blog.twitter.com/2013/new-compete-study-primary-mobile-users-on-twitter">60 percent of users access Twitter on mobile devices</a>, Twitter could greatly increase its revenues if it could successfully persuade app developers and users that Twitter is a good place to hear about new apps from friends and followers.</p>
<p>Twitter has increased its exposure to mobile ads and apps of late with its $350 million acquisition of MoPub, a mobile ad exchange that, eventually, will allow advertisers to use Twitter's data to target ads at people using other mobile apps.</p>

The stolen information was sent back to Huawei by the employees through an encrypted email address, according to the indictment. </span></p><p><span>When T-Mobile originally discovered that its trade secrets were allegedly being compromised and raised concerns, Huawei claimed the employees involved in the theft were working as "rogue actors," says the indictment.
