Leading Apps: India at the Forefront of AI Innovation The blog post revealed that this year’s top apps showcased India’s innovative spirit, particularly in harnessing AI to meet user needs. Alle - Your AI Fashion Stylist, developed by Hey Alle, emerged as the year’s Best App and also won the Best for Fun award. Leveraging AI, Alle provides personalised fashion advice tailored to users’ occasions, body types, and preferences, reflecting the growing trend of AI-powered app experiences in India. Prateek Agarwal, Co-Founder &amp; CEO, Alle, said in a statement, “We noticed that the recent developments in Gen AI, combined with evolving consumer preferences for visual inspirational content, will create a massive opportunity to reimagine &amp; rebuild how people discover and shop for fashion. Google Play announces best apps and games of 2024 in India: All you need to know

A <keyword id="19925751" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="mobile-app" source="keywords">mobile app</keyword> could help predict if a pregnant woman will develop depression in the latter stages of pregnancy, according to new <keyword id="19913261" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="research" source="keywords">research</keyword>. By asking women to respond to surveys during their first trimester, researchers identified various risk factors, including <keyword id="20015710" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sleep-quality" source="keywords">sleep quality</keyword> and <keyword id="20406931" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="food-insecurity" source="keywords">food insecurity</keyword>, for developing depression. "We can ask people a small set of questions and get a good sense of whether they'll become depressed," said lead author Tamar Krishnamurti, an associate professor of general internal medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, US. "Strikingly, a lot of risk factors for future depression are things that are modifiable -- such as sleep quality, concerns about labour and delivery and, importantly, access to food -- meaning that we can and should do something about them," said Krishnamurti. Identifying women vulnerable to developing depression in the earlier stages of pregnancy could help tailor preventive care and offer support to address underlying causes, the researchers said. For the study, the researchers analysed the survey responses of 944 <keyword id="19905236" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="pregnant-women" source="keywords">pregnant women</keyword> who used the app as part of a larger study and did not have a history of depression. In their first trimester of pregnancy, the women responded to questions about demographics and their medical history, along with those on stress and feelings of sadness. Some of the 944 women also responded to optional questions on social factors related to their health, such as food insecurity. All women were screened for depression once every trimester. The researchers developed six machine-learning models using all the data. The best one was found to be 89 per cent accurate in predicting depression in a pregnant woman. A machine learning algorithm is a form of artificial intelligence that learns from past data to make predictions. The accuracy of the model rose to 93 per cent when the researchers included the responses to optional questions on health-related social factors. They found that food insecurity, or access to food, emerged as an important risk factor for pregnant women to develop depression in the latter stages of pregnancy. The researchers are now developing methods to integrate these survey questions into clinical settings and identifying how clinicians could have these conversations with patients about the risk of depression. A favourable form factor for bringing AI to our everyday lives, this AI pin is extremely advanced. Put it on like a name tag, and then you can talk to it. Running on Chat GPT, the product gives you answers in real-time. The device comes with a camera, projector and a speaker built-in. Launching two very solid products, the <a href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/C30KF7tP5u-/">OnePlus Watch 2</a> and the Genshin Impact edition for the 12R. As we expect from the brand, the integration with Genshin impact was not just vanity. The device gets a new exclusive colour, a completely new UI along with audio profiles. The exclusive Genshin impact packaging comes with collector pins, an L-shaped cable and display items as well. Mobile World Congress: A quick recap of the future of consumer tech as seen in MWC, Barcelona

<ul><li>Attending the MWC in Barcelona on behalf of Business Insider india exposed me to several new things</li><li>Here’s a first-person perspective from my experience covering a mega international event</li><li>Learn more about how to register, travel, and explore such events! </li></ul>After my trip to the MWC 2024 in Barcelona last month, I have been asked multiple times how to go about it. And honestly, I understand. I figured everything out along the way. That’s why I am writing this first-hand account of what to keep in mind for your first MWC, or any such mega international events, something that I wish I had when I was planning my trip. Registration and travel Now how do you go to MWC? The process starts with registering yourself at the MWC <a href="https://register.mwcbarcelona.com/">website</a>. Once you register yourself as a media or analyst you will receive an invite from the MWC team. This invite also has an NOC which you have to submit for your Schengen VISA. This VISA also requires you to provide 6 months of bank statements and 3 months of salary statements. If you are a freelancer you require an NOC from the publication or agency you are working with. You are also required to share 3 years of ITR while submitting your VISA form. There are almost no direct flights to Barcelona from India. So, you either go via Germany or Switzerland. No matter which route you choose, kindly take a layover of at least 2 hours. Not for leisure, but to make your connecting flights on time. My layover while going to Barcelona was at Zurich airport for one hour, which was a race against time. I found myself running along with my colleagues reaching the connecting flight 10 minutes before take off. It’s very risky, and after a 9-hour flight, you do need some time to recharge yourself. A point to note here is that our immigration happened at the Zurich airport itself, and we had to do a security check-in one more time here. Which makes the situation even more time-sensitive. Arriving at Barcelona This year MWC saw a footfall of over 1 lakh people, and the Barcelona administration took good care of us all. When you reach the Barcelona airport you need to have a MWC series app on your phone. This is where you can access all your MWC profile data. You will find booths here providing you with transportation passes. These passes work like any travel card, allowing you to commute throughout the city using buses or metro. Very crucial for you to collect this otherwise the taxi fare in Barcelona is very high. Don’t worry if you miss collecting one since you can find them in the main hall again. I also recommend downloading the TMB app for navigating across the city. It provides you with the fastest routes and guidance to reach your destination. I also recommend either buying international roaming from your service provider or getting a SIM card from the Barcelona airport. You must get a SIM card or have network connectivity before heading out of the airport. Mostly because there is a serious language barrier and you need to have device connectivity for having immediate conversations as well. At the MWC Arena MWC has 8 halls which are scattered across a 500,000 sq. meters exhibition floor space. So, it is important to keep a tab on all notifications on your MWC series app to get timely updates. You can also access the map of the arena in the app — handy when you are covering the event. Generally, most action takes place in the first three halls. So, I recommend spending the first 2 days in Hall-1,2 &amp; 3. Post that you can start exploring all the other halls. This year, the Google Android team had a good easter hunt going on incentivising visitors to explore the entire venue. Throughout day 1 and day 2, exclusive Android pins were spread across booths in all the halls. If you collect all the pins on both days you will get a gift from Google. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any gifts, though I collected around 10 pins, since I was busy shooting, anchoring and editing videos on the go. You should also be aware of the food situation at the MWC arena since the food is very expensive. Gadgets If you have been registered as a media &amp; analyst at the show, there is no strict cap on what you can carry inside the venue. In terms of equipment. My gear was fairly light, and since I was covering the event alone, I needed to be as light as possible. My gear included an iPhone 15 Pro and a Digitek microphone. The footage I shot was then edited on my MacBook Pro. After creating frames for my footage, I controlled the record settings with my Apple Watch Series 9. And yes this is where the Apple ecosystem was at its full utilization to maximise my productivity throughout the coverage. This yet again proves my sincere belief that the iPhone and Macbook put together are a cavalry in their own right. The evening upload was managed by the editor back home. But this planning was possible because I had the efficient gadgets on me. I would recommend carrying multi-pins from your origin country because Barcelona is very expensive for all this. Mobile World Congress (MWC) for beginners — Things to consider before planning your first international junket

New Delhi [India], May 16 (ANI): <keyword id="9766785" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="Lok-Sabha-elections-2024" source="Orion">Lok Sabha elections 2024</keyword> have seen a <keyword id="20108198" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="voter-turnout" source="keywords">voter turnout</keyword> at polling stations of about 66.95 per cent so far, as approximately 451 million people have voted during the first four phases of ongoing general elections. In a bid to encourage voters to exercise their franchise in large numbers, ECI has enhanced its targeted interventions to reach out to every eligible voter. The Commission led by CEC Rajiv Kumar along with ECs Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, further directed CEOs of the states going to poll in the fifth, sixth and seventh phases to timely distribute voter information slips to all electors and enhance outreach activities. "Commission strongly believes that partnership and collaboration are essential pillars of the voter awareness programme. It's heartening to see that, at the Commission's request, different institutions, influencers and celebrities with significant reach are working enthusiastically on a pro-bono basis," Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said. Further, he added that a higher voter turnout would be a message from Indian voters to the world, about the strength of Indian Democracy. He urges all the voters to cast their vote in huge numbers, as voting day is not a holiday but a day of pride, by participating in the festival of democracy. According to an official release, various <keyword id="21686177" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="voter-awareness-drives" source="keywords">voter awareness drives</keyword> and campaigns have been carried out by stakeholders in collaboration with ECI. Telecom Service Providers such as Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Bharti Airtel Limited, Jio Telecommunication, and Vodafone-Idea Limited are reaching out to every mobile user in the respective parliamentary constituency through push SMS/Flash SMSs, outbound dialling calls to mobile users, RCS (Rich Communication Services) messaging and WhatsApp messages/alerts. These activities are carried out two/three days before the poll and even on the poll day, in regional languages, with an appeal to vote. ECI has collaborated with BCCI for voter awareness activities during the ongoing IPL season. The voter awareness messages and songs are being played at different stadiums during the cricket matches. The most innovative aspect of this campaign is the administration of voter's pledges by cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar in a pre-recorded video message, at various IPL venues. Further, voter awareness messages are integrated into cricket commentary. Cricketers from 10 IPL teams have encouraged voters to participate in the <keyword id="19895394" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="lok-sabha" source="keywords">Lok Sabha</keyword> elections in 2024 with their recorded voter awareness messages. A voting day alert was sent to all Facebook users pan India to inform and inform the voters about the general elections and to nudge them to participate in the festival of democracy, the release mentioned. The release further stated that WhatsApp personalised messages have begun on polling day. Google India is contributing through its iconic feature of Google Doodle on poll days and banners appearing on YouTube, Google Pat and other Google platforms. The Retail Association of India has been actively engaging with voter awareness activities, through their retail network, whereby retail chains are encouraged to celebrate the election as a festival. The vast network of post offices and banking institutions was utilised by ECI to reach out to a wide and diverse audience across the length and breadth of the country. In collaboration with the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, the parliamentary elections campaign logo "Chunav ka Parv, Desh ka Garv" has been integrated with the IRCTC portal and tickets. Voter awareness announcements have been integrated with the public address system at all railway stations. The logo stickers are used on coaches of the superfast trains. In collaboration with the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, hoardings on voter awareness have been installed in about 16,000 retail outlets. In collaboration with the Ministry of Civil Aviation, airlines are making an inflight announcement with an appeal message to participate in the ensuing elections. Voter guides are being kept in aircraft seat pockets. Apart from this, many airports are providing space for the display of voter awareness messages. Selfie points have been installed at airports in 10 major cities viz. Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Patna, Chandigarh, and Pune. Cinema theatres across the country are playing ECI voter awareness films and ECI Song Main Bharat Hoon, Hum Bharat Ke Matdata Hai, at regular intervals, as a part of the Public Service Awareness (PSA) film. Sansad TV is creating short films on Unique Polling Stations set up in remote corners of the country by the election machinery after navigating difficult terrains to demonstrate the challenges in ensuring voting at the last mile. AMUL, Mother Dairy and other milk co-operatives have started branding their milk pouches with the message 'Chunav Ka Parv, Desh ka Garv' and encouraging voters through social media platforms. AMUL is also encouraging voters with its unique messaging through AMUL Girl Topical advertisements in newspapers. Prasar Bharati: Doordarshan has produced, various short films, including appeals from constitutional functionaries like President of India, Vice President of India, and Chief Justice of India, among others. Further, unique polling stations are being covered by the regional Kendra's audio-visual documentation. Music App Spotify is running a campaign called 'Play Your Part', and they have issued print advertisements, and curated the playlists for the elections, on their app. Payments app PhonePe has integrated voter awareness message into their app and is actively encouraging voters. BookMyShow has launched an integrated campaign, titled "Aaj Picture Nahi, Bigger Picture Dekho," to raise awareness among voters. MakeMyTrip is running a campaign titled 'MyVoteWalaTrip', whereby discounts are offered to citizens going to vote. Food delivery platforms such as Zomato and Swiggy are disseminating voter awareness messages through their platforms and social media activities. Grocery App Blinkit changed its logo to "Inkit" for the elections, incorporating a message encouraging people to "Go out and Vote" as a tagline. Uber India is reaching out to voters through multi-channel messaging (in-app, emails, push notifications), offering discounts for rides to polling stations, and amplifying voter awareness messages on social media platforms. Bike app Rapido has been encouraging voters with a free ride to vote. Urban Company has launched 'I Have Voted Campaign' to encourage voters. Tata Neu app, serving as the Tata Group's group-wide consumer-facing mobile app, prominently features the "Cast Your Vote" animated banner on its homepage, with additional initiatives currently underway. Truecaller is enhancing its layout by displaying voter awareness message during outbound calls Some other independent initiatives are Mankind Pharma #VotingVirgin campaign, clothing brand Neeru's "Vote ki Taiyaari" TVC, Tinder's "Every Single Vote Counts" campaign, creatively curated social media post by Matrimonial sites like Jeevansathi.com, etc and discounts for voting by popular brands such as Shoppers' Stop, MakeMyTrip, Chroma and many more. Four phases of Lok Sabha polls have been held and the voting will conclude on June 1 with results on June 4. The remaining phases will be held on May 20, May 25, and June 1.

The Reserve Bank on Friday announced the launch of a mobile app to enable <keyword id="19972907" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="retail-investors" source="keywords">retail investors</keyword> to participate in government securities (<keyword id="21202837" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="G-Secs" source="keywords">G-Secs</keyword>) or <keyword id="20283766" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="government-bonds" source="keywords">government bonds</keyword> market. <keyword id="21202838" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rbi-retail-direct-scheme" source="keywords">RBI Retail Direct Scheme</keyword>, launched in November 2021, gives access to individual investors to maintain gilt accounts with the <keyword id="19899808" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="RBI" source="keywords">RBI</keyword> and invest in government securities. The Scheme enables investors to buy securities in primary auctions as well as buy/sell securities through the <keyword id="382785" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Negotiated-Dealing-System" source="Orion">Negotiated Dealing System</keyword> - <keyword id="21202839" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Order-Matching-system" source="Orion">Order Matching system</keyword> (NDS-OM) platform. "To further improve ease of access, a mobile application of the Retail Direct portal is being developed. The app will enable investors to buy and sell instruments on the go, at their convenience. The app will be available for use shortly," RBI Governor <keyword id="19913110" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="shaktikanta-das" source="keywords">Shaktikanta Das</keyword> said, while announcing the first bi-monthly monetary policy for the current fiscal. The government is planning for gross market borrowing of Rs 14.13 lakh crore for 2024-25. Out of this Rs 7.5 lakh crore, or 53 per cent, is scheduled to be borrowed in the first half (H1). In a separate announcement, RBI permitted non-bank payment system operators to offer Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) wallets to encourage its wider use. Currently, CBDC pilots in the retail and wholesale segments are underway with more use-cases and more participating banks. "Continuing with this approach, it is proposed to make CBDC-Retail accessible to a broader segment of users in a sustained manner, by enabling non-bank payment system operators to offer CBDC wallets," he said. This is expected to enhance access and expand choices available to users apart from testing the resiliency of the CBDC platform to handle multi-channel transactions, he said, adding, necessary changes will be made to the system to facilitate this. In November 2022, the pilot of the wholesale CBDC, known as the Digital Rupee-Wholesale (e-W), was launched with the use case being limited to the settlement of secondary market transactions in government securities. In the following month, RBI rolled out a pilot in the retail version of the CBDC (e-R).

At 11 am today, the much-awaited full budget for 2024-25, the first under the Modi 3.0 government, will be presented on the floor of the Parliament. All eyes will be on the major announcements made by the finance minister and the government's forward-looking guidance about the overall economy. A few days before the budget is presented, the government has a tradition of conducting a 'halwa ceremony', marking the start of budget document printing. Everyone on the budget team is allowed to leave only after the financial document is presented in Parliament. The printing of the Union Budget inside the basement located in the North Block has been a permanent feature since 1980. A day before the budget is scheduled to be tabled, the government typically releases its Economic Survey. This year, too, the same norms were followed. The Economic Survey serves as a crucial input for budget formulation. It is prepared by the Chief Economic Advisor and provides an overview of the country's economic performance, prospects, and policy recommendations, including future outlook. India is poised to remain the fastest-growing major economy in 2024-25, Chief Economic Adviser V Anantha Nageswaran said in a press conference after the tabling of the Economic Survey. The Economic Survey tabled projected India to grow at 6.5-7.0 percent in 2024-25. As per the Economic Survey 2023-24 tabled by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the Indian economy is on a strong and stable footing, demonstrating resilience in the face of geopolitical challenges. The first Economic Survey reportedly came into existence in 1950-51, when it used to be a part of the budget documents. In the 1960s, it was separated from the budget documents and presented a day before the Union Budget. The budget, once it is presented, is then subjected to detailed debate and discussion in both houses of Parliament, allowing members to scrutinise its provisions, raise concerns, and propose amendments. Following its presentation and approval by Parliament, the Union Budget sets in motion a series of post-budget activities aimed at implementing its provisions and achieving the outlined objectives. Like the previous few full Union budgets, the Budget 2024 will also be delivered in paperless form. An Interim Union Budget 2024 was presented on February 1, as the country was due for general elections later in the year. All the Union Budget documents, including the Annual Financial Statement (commonly known as the Budget), Demand for Grants (DG), and Finance Bill, as prescribed by the Constitution, will be available on the "Union Budget Mobile App" for hassle-free access to budget documents by Members of Parliament (MPs) and the public. Representatives from the skilling and employment sectors suggested ways to skill the youth for better utilization of the workforce. This year's Monsoon Session will have 19 sittings until August 12. The Modi government is expected to present six bills, among which the Aircraft Act and Parliament's nod for the budget of Jammu and Kashmir are prominent. The government will also present the Finance Bill after the announcement of the budget on July 23. Among the other bills, the disaster management law, the Bhartiya Vayuyan Vidheyak 2024, the Boilers Bill, the Coffee (Promotion and Development) Bill, and the Rubber (Promotion and Development) Bill will be tabled in this year's Monsoon Session. The Bhartiya Vayuyan Vidheyak 2024 will replace the Aircraft Act of 1934 and streamline regulations in the civil aviation sector, aiding industry players in the sector.
