Winner of six Grand Slam titles, including three mixed doubles trophies, Sania will retire as India's most accomplished woman tennis player. The 35-year-old made the retirement announcement after losing the Australian Open women's doubles first round with partner Nadiia Kichenok. They lost to Slovenia's <keyword id="4001087" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tamara-Zidansek" source="Orion">Tamara Zidansek</keyword> and Kaja Juvan. "There's a bunch of reasons for it. I do feel my recovery is taking longer and considering my son is three years old, I do feel I am putting him at risk by travelling so much with him. Unfortunately the pandemic is making us take certain decision for the well-being of ourself and family," Mirza said at the post-match press conference. "Also, my body is wearing down. My knee was really hurting today and I'm not saying that's the reason we lost but I do think that it is taking time to recover as I'm getting older," she said. Sania, who became world number one in doubles during her successful partnership with Swiss legend Martina Hingis, said there were a certain issues that influenced her decision. "Also for me to find that motivation everyday to come out, the energy is not the same anymore. Right this minute, it's there but there are days where I don't feel like doing that. "I've always said that I will play until I enjoy that grind, the process and not just winning but you have to enjoy the process and I am not sure I'm enjoying it anymore. "I am enjoying it enough to play this season. I've worked very hard to come back, get fit, lose the weight and try to set a good example for mothers, new mothers to follow their dreams as much as they can. Beyond this season, I don't feel my body doing it. It's beat," said the world number 68. She reached top-30 in singles with 27 being her career best rank. Sania quit singles after a wrist injury to focus on doubles and enjoyed exceptional results. Sania said she feels that she was playing at a decent level but she always knew that 2022 will be her last season and Wednesday's defeat was no trigger for it. "I am playing at a good level. First week in Adelaide (event), we (she and Kichenok) beat top-10, 20 players. I am playing at a decent level. I was pretty sure this is my last season, if I do finish it. I am sure I am not coming to Melbourne to play Australian Open again. "I had great memories here, singles, doubles and mixed doubles. It's been a great journey. I am not looking forward to June or July, I am literally going week to week, with my body, with virus, there is so much uncertainty." "Every time I play, I feel I have a chance to win, that's why I am here." "It is not because of disappointment of today's match. Just the way my body is. I am not sure if I can finish the season. I want to play full season, I am still (ranked) 50-60 in world, I do feel I have the level to play. "As an athlete I feel I can go deep in tournament. "At 35, I am waking up with couple of things that I don't know where they're coming from. I want to finish the season, try to play until US Open, that is my goal. "Definitely conditions were tough, very gutsy, sometimes it's not about tennis. We should have won the second set. India's tennis star Sania Mirza announces retirement from the sport by the end of 2022 season

Mumbai, May 11 () Over 80 artistes, including megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Manoj Bajpayee, Ekta Kapoor and Shreya Ghoshal have come together for the track "Guzar Jayega", which aims at spreading hope amid the coronavirus pandemic.The anthem, narrated by Bachchan, also features comedian Kapil Sharma, producer Ekta Kapoor, actors Raveena Tandon, Sunny Leone and singers Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal, Shaan. "These are testing and difficult times, we all have come together to instill hope and courage through this song "Guzar Jayega", we are in this together and this too shall pass, stay home and stay safe," Leone said in a statement.Shreya said nothing encapsulates the current emotions like Bachchan's voiceover in the video, which says, "It's just time, it shall pass." "We will have a plethora of emotions to indulge in, and realise there's always a greater sunrise after the darkest of nights. 	The ministry had picked two-time Olympic-medallist wrestler Sushil Kumar for the honour last year.

Twitteratis came together to celebrate India’s women athletes like never before 
 
Aneesh told us – “The scale at which Indians came together to celebrate our women sporting heroes on Twitter has never been seen before. There were 2 million tweets around the performances of four women sportspersons - <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/PV-Sindhu-gets-India-Silver-medal-in-Badminton-at-Rio-Olympics-2016/articleshow/53774591.cms">PV Sindhu</a>, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Sakshi-Malik-gets-rousing-welcome-says-she-always-wanted-win-an-Olympic-medal-for-India/articleshow/53839167.cms">Sakshi Malik,</a> Deepa Karmakar and <keyword id="487" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sania-Mirza">Sania Mirza</keyword>. The count was more than the number of tweets for the India-Pakistan and India-Australia matches combined during the World T20. Also, there were 1.48 million tweets on <keyword id="501707" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="PV-Sindhu">PV Sindhu</keyword> throughout Olympics, and 5.76 lakh tweets around <keyword id="6356003" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sakshi-Malik">Sakshi Malik</keyword>.” 
 
While public figures tweeted about how these athletes were an inspiration for them, the platform saw even mothers sharing tweets promising to share success stories of the athletes with their young daughters. “It was heartwarming to see Twitter being used for outpouring of emotions. It became the common channel of communication connecting athletes and fans. That was the top trend for us that defined Twitter during these two weeks,” Aneesh said. 
 
Fans and Olympians conversed with each other directly throughout the Games 
 
Twitter saw a spike in conversations between fans and Olympians even before Olympics began. <a href="https://twitter.com/DipaKarmakar/status/765015937032466432">Athletes posted videos</a>, <a href="https://twitter.com/SakshiMalik/status/766260947463774208">tweeted pictures</a> before and after victory to thank fans for continued support. “Whether it was hockey team tweeting photos from the Rio Olympic village or Deepa Karmakar and Sakshi Malik joining Twitter after their respective win, Twitter saw direct and intimate conversations among Olympians and fans throughout the Games,” Aneesh said. 
 
He added – “The audience of our top 10 most followed Indian Olympians on Twitter grew by almost 12 times since London Games in 2012. During Rio Olympics, PV Sindhu had her Twitter following grow by 7 times. Deepa and Sakshi who joined later already have over 60,000 followers in merely less than a week.” 
 Moreover, ministers like Sushma Swaraj, celebrities like <keyword id="6357912" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="amitabh-bachchan">Amitabh Bachchan</keyword> and sportspersons like Sachin Tendulkar became fans of our women players. They were all using Twitter to express their pleasure in seeing the girls perform well in the Games. 
 
“Twitter infact saw for the first time a cricket icon like <a href="https://twitter.com/sachin_rt">Sachin Tendulkar</a> even live-tweet <a href="https://twitter.com/sachin_rt/status/766644969616478213">the final match between Sindhu and Carolina Marin</a>,” Aneesh said. 
 
An Ecosystem emerged on Twitter, something no one knew of earlier 
 
There are organizations like Olympic Gold Quest, JSW Sports and Gosports who have been tirelessly working with Olympians, supporting their training and preparation for years quietly. For instance, Olympic Gold Quest has been supporting PV Sindhu since she was 14. 
 
“As soon as some of our women athletes clinched medals, there was a lot of conversation on Twitter around how these organizations have helped Olympic athletes become rather great performers. Athletes, fans and sports journalists came together to highlight the work these institutions have been doing and it really brought awareness around this ecosystem which will hopefully get stronger as people connect to these organizations in the times to come,” said Aneesh. 
 
Twitteratis engaged on the need for accountability from sports administrators 
 
During the first week when Indian players came close to medals, but couldn’t get them, Twitter engaged in conversations on how there is a need for better accountability from administrators, and the support Indian athletes need to excel at Olympics. 
 
Humour around Games united non-sports enthusiasts on Twitter 
 
Sporting events like Olympics are bringing people together like never before, and in a fun way. For instance, there were <a href="https://twitter.com/TheEllenShow/status/765303894159208448">iconic photographs of Usain Bolt</a> being circulated. It got people talking, even those who might not even care about sports or certain sports in Olympics. 
 
In a nutshell, Indian women players not only created history by making it to Rio Games, they united Indians to celebrate women players and different sports. They created history.

India's Test captain and numero uno batsman <keyword id="6354486" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Virat-Kohli">Virat Kohli</keyword> has been named as 'Third Most Marketable Sportsperson' in the world ahead of football superstar <keyword id="704" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Lionel-Messi">Lionel Messi</keyword> , world No. 1 tennis player <keyword id="55696" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Novak-Djokovic">Novak Djokovic</keyword> in a latest survey published by magazine 'SportsPro'. 
 Kohli is ranked behind NBA's 'Most Valuable Player' <keyword id="218063" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Stephen-Curry">Stephen Curry</keyword> and Juventus' French international Paul Pogba. Incidentally, Kohli is just ahead of golfer Jordan Spieth. Djokovic is 23rd in the list, followed by Messi at 27th and 'Sprint King' <keyword id="28723" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Usain-Bolt">Usain Bolt</keyword> at 31. Notably another Indian in top-50 is tennis star <keyword id="487" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sania-Mirza">Sania Mirza</keyword> . 

	According to SportsPro, which does extensive research on business of sports, the criteria of ranking athletes from across the world is marketing potential over a three-year period from this summer. 
 

	The components they have been assessed are value for money, age, home market, charisma, willingness to be marketed and crossover appeal. 
 <keyword id="42857" type="SPORT" weightage="20" keywordseo="Formula-One">Formula One</keyword> world champion <keyword id="23008" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Lewis-Hamilton">Lewis Hamilton</keyword> topped the rankings in 2014; Barcelona's Brazilian soccer star Neymar, in at No 8 this year, took the number one spot in 2012 and 2013; Olympic champion Bolt headed the list in 2011, while NBA star LeBron James was named as the world's most marketable athlete in the feature's inaugural year in 2010.

In the inaugural list of top "promising young leaders and game changers" under the age of 30 in Asia from the prestigious <keyword id="6373044" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Forbes">Forbes</keyword> magazine, <keyword id="487" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sania-Mirza">Sania Mirza</keyword>, <keyword id="6354486" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Virat-Kohli">Virat Kohli</keyword> and <keyword id="30618" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Saina-Nehwal">Saina Nehwal</keyword> are leading the pack of over 50 Indians. 
 
The Forbes '30 under 30 Asia' list includes 300 "young and driven entrepreneurs and game-changers" from countries including India, Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Pakistan, Vietnam and Australia who are contributing to their industries in a significant way. 
 In this list, one would find 56 Indians, with Kohli, Mirza and Nehwal along with 26-year old Bollywood actress <keyword id="89958" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Shraddha-Kapoor">Shraddha Kapoor</keyword>. 
 
"At the top of India's crickculture is batting prince Kohli, who led India to clean sweep in their Twenty 20 series against Australia in January," Forbes said of Kohli. He was also named among India's highest earning celebrities in 2015, standing at USD 11.3 million. 
 
Talking of Mirza, Forbes said that she has been the "most successful female Indian tennis player ever" and one of the highest paid and highest profile athletes in the country. 
 
About Nehwal, Forbes described her as a "role model" and "Indian badminton queen". 
 
The list has a total of 10 categories, covering consumer technology, enterprise technology, arts, healthcare and science, media, social 
entrepreneurship, finance, industry and retail. 
 
Arunima Sinha, the first female and first Indian amputee to climb Mt Everest in 2013 and Chaitanya Tamhane, the writer and director of the critically acclaimed movie 'Court' also found place in the entertainment and sports category.
