 In his latest stint as a superhuman, Soman has ran yet another <keyword id="6397749" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Marathon">marathon</keyword> (honestly, it’s not even surprising anymore) and this time it’s in <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=berlin&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Berlin</a>. 
 He successfully completed running 42.2 kms at the BMW <keyword id="434360" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Berlin-Marathon">Berlin Marathon</keyword> in 4 hours and 32 minutes. Running with him in the marathon were 42,000 runners. 
 
This feat of his comes just two weeks after he cycled around in Assam, covering a distance of 180 kms every day, which was right after he had participated in <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Milind-Soman-is-running-barefoot-from-Ahmedabad-to-Mumbai-and-giving-us-all-kinds-of-fitness-goals/articleshow/53457547.cms">The Great India Run where he ran barefoot from Ahmedabad to Mumbai</a>. 
 
 
 
Like we said, Soman is absolutely unstoppable. 
 
In 2015, he had also completed the world’s toughest triathlon in Zurich earning the title of ‘Iron Man.’

Milind Soman runs yet another marathon, this time in Berlin

 The investment will happen over the next two years. <keyword id="4105169" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Deivee">Deivee</keyword> is the startup that which created the performance kurti. 
 
Besides, there is a possibility the billion-dollar Canadian athletic apparel retailer <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=lululemon&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Lululemon</a> may join force too. 
 "<keyword id="1639331" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Lululemon">Lululemon</keyword> is definitely eyeing entering the Indian market, possibly by the end of 2017 or in 2018. Right now they are heavily focusing on China with goals of setting up over 40 locations there. It's a billion-dollar company and they are extremely popular in the Bollywood circuit so a strategic partnership with startups like Deivee could be a smart way of acquiring users," ET quoted a source as saying. 
 
Deivee targets fitness wear clothing for Indian women and has created a buzz due to an array of styles in yoga wear, besides the performance kurti, with swim-wear and other category specific fitness clothing in the pipeline. 
 
"Milind and I are basically targeting a diverse range of women from those who wear loose male t-shirts to a salwar suit or kurti. Nearly 85% of them had tried Nike and Adidas but had complaints about comfort and how they perceive themselves in tight branded clothing," Darshan M had said.

He has completed several half- and full marathons, and has run from Delhi to Mumbai. He was 47 at that tome, beat that! 
 
3. When he started Pinkathon at 47 years of age 
At the age when all models and even some actors sit in their reclining chairs in their farm houses, this man went ahead and started an event to encourage women to run for good health. He named it ‘Pinkathon’ and it was a roaring success. It has taken place in more than 40 cities, including all the major metros of India.

3 Times Milind ‘Ironman’ Soman proved that he’s ageless!

Former supermodel, <keyword id="143" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bollywood">Bollywood</keyword> actor and <keyword id="32311" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="running">running</keyword> enthusiast, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=milind+soman&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Milind Soman</a>, already christened –The <keyword id="99700" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ironman">Ironman</keyword> after he completed a course of a 3.8 km swim, an 180.2 km cycle ride and a 42.2 km run in just 15 hours in the toughest <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=triathlon&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">triathlon</a> in <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=zurich&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Zurich</a>, has now taken up a new challenge. 
 
The 50-year-old is running the 570-km-long stretch between <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=ahmedabad&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Ahmedabad</a> and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=mumbai&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Mumbai </a>via Silvassa, barefoot for the <keyword id="3267912" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Great-India-Run">Great India Run</keyword>, which calls itself the country’s first multi-city ultra <keyword id="6397749" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Marathon">marathon</keyword>. 
 
Soman started his run from July 26 onwards and managed to complete a massive distance of 67 kms on the first day to reach Anand. 
 
On the second day he completed another 62 kms. In a video posted on his Facebook page, Soman is seen running as if he’s on his daily morning jog- the fact that he’s barefoot doesn’t seem to bother him at all. 
 
 
 
He also points out how the weather is humid- all while <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=barefoot+running&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">running between two cities BAREFOOT</a>. Soman is expected to reach Mumbai by August 7.

A PTI report says that this decision will be made after seeking legal advice, as stated by government adviser Mohammad Ali Shabbir. The assurance came after a delegation from the Telangana Sikh Society, led by former IPS officer Tejdeep Kaur Menon, met with Shabbir at the Secretariat in Hyderabad. The 18-member group expressed their deep concerns about the film, fearing that it portrays the Sikh community in a negative light. According to Shabbir, the delegation claimed that "Emergency" portrays Sikhs as terrorists and anti-nationals—a depiction they find offensive and damaging to the community’s image. They urged the state government to ban the film's screening in Telangana. Following the meeting, Shabbir relayed the group's concerns to Chief Minister Reddy, who promised that the government would make a decision on the matter after consulting with legal experts. Earlier this week, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) had issued a legal notice to Ranaut and the film's producers, demanding the removal of the film's trailer, which had been released earlier this month. SGPC Secretary Partap Singh had voiced strong objections to the film, revealing that the committee had also sent letters to the Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting and the Chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to request a ban on Emergency. Singh had also accused Ranaut of hurting Sikh sentiments, claiming that several "anti-Sikh scenes" had come to light since the trailer's release. The controversy gained further momentum last week when both the GDPC and the Akal Takht called for an immediate ban on the film. They alleged that Emergency attempts to "character assassinate" Sikhs by creating a negative narrative against them. SGPC Chief Harjinder Singh Dhami held a press conference, demanding that an FIR be filed against Ranaut and expressing his strong objections to the film. Dhami had said that this was not the first time Sikh sentiments have been hurt by misrepresentation in films. He also criticised the CBFC as being "biased" and urged for the inclusion of Sikh members on the censor board to ensure fair representation. Ranaut, who announced the film in 2021, had earlier clarified that although the film is a political drama, it is not a biopic of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Besides playing the lead role, Ranaut is also directing the film. The cast includes prominent actors like Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry, and <keyword id="20045058" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="shreyas-talpade" source="keywords">Shreyas Talpade</keyword>, with Talpade portraying Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Kher as Jayaprakash Narayan. No? You cannot, anymore. Because Tanishq has officially succumbed to the online trolls and removed the video from all their platforms. Watch a copy of the ad, here: <div type="twitter" handle="ShashiTharoor" handlename="Shashi Tharoor" image="http://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/1280501371431800833/aoWxPcWK_normal.jpg" favoritecount="11107" retweetcount="2267" status="So Hindutva bigots have called for a boycott of ⁦@TanishqJewelry⁩ for highlighting Hindu-Muslim unity through this… https://t.co/V9IiFtEmgU" createdat="1602554129000" id="1315833504253374464"></div>They started with comments enabled and Likes/Dislikes allowed. Then they disabled both. Finally, they have removed the video. Why? The kind of comments they are getting for the same video on Facebook would offer you a reason. Here’s a snapshot. There’s a lot more on Twitter that’s hundred times more vile and vicious, including naming and abusing specific employees of Tanishq. <div type="image" title="tanishq-ekatvam-FB-comments-1536x690" msid="78633618" hostid="261"></div> To be honest, I was very, very surprised that someone at Tanishq and their ad agency considered this script, passed it for production, and were bold enough to release it now. That this needs to be called ‘bold’, in itself, is an odd situation to be in. We had a time when a Milind Soman and Madhu Sapre wore nothing but a snake to sell shoes and we used to call that ‘bold’. Within days of its release, the ad has found virulent denouncement. And boycott calls too. So what exactly is the problem in the ad according to the detractors? It supposedly normalizes “Love Jihad”, a term that has been categorically stated in the Parliament as a non-existent concept by the ruling party’s own <a href="https://bit.ly/3nFWXwY" target="_blank">junior home minister G Kishan Reddy in February 2020</a> (much like there is no record, meaning, explanation or context for ‘tukde tukde gang’, a term used to defame anyone not fitting a particular narrative). <div type="image" title="no-love-jihad-parliament" msid="78633628" hostid="261"></div> Not all inter-faith marriages deserve to be called out derogatorily or sweepingly denounced or dismissed. Does the ad claim that this is representative of all of India? No. Does the ad showcase violence between people? No. Does it show that people live in harmony, beyond their religion? Yes. Is this kind of harmony impossible? No. Is this kind of harmony needed? Of course. So, what’s the problem then? The problem is supposed to be that since gullible Hindu women (who, under the ‘Love Jihad’ conspiracy theory, have no agency of their own and are mere puppets that can be led anywhere) are being lured by rabid men from Islam/other religions, according to the theory of “Love Jihad”, this ad shows the opposite – that a Hindu woman is living peacefully with her Muslim husband and family, who are arranging an extensive Hindu-style VaLai Kaappu ceremony (Godh Bharai/Indian-style baby shower) for her. Is the man shown in the ad violent and abusive? No. Is the family ill-treating their daughter-in-law? No. Is this scenario impossible? Hardly. I have at least 3 friends with the same set-up – Hindu wife-Muslim husband. They are living as normally as anyone else. They celebrate both festivals with equal fervor. So, can’t the ad showcase what-could-be? Of course, it can. That’s what advertising does anyway – showing the what-is-possible scenario. And this is not necessarily a make-believe world – it is what it is, at least when I look at my own friends. The what-could-be is usually based on insights on user behavior, with the usual advertising-led exaggeration layered in. Are there exceptions to what’s being shown? Absolutely, there could be. Do exceptions become the norm? Not at all. They are not, and shouldn’t. The other major gripe with the ad, as per angry comments is, “Why can’t they show the reverse? A Muslim wife and Hindu husband?”. Yeah, why not? But, <a href="https://bit.ly/closeup-2018">Closeup, the toothpaste brand, tried showing both, in 2 different ad films, in a 2018 campaign</a> (my post from 2018 has all the context, but the videos have been removed by Closeup). Both got trolled heavily and Closeup withdrew both! There’s no end to this trolling. <div type="image" title="closeup ad" msid="78633641" hostid="261"></div> <div type="image" title="closeup ad 1" msid="78633657" hostid="261"></div> So, I’m genuinely surprised that Tanishq and its agency actually passed this, knowing fully well the kind of reactions it may lead to. I’m fairly sure they do not live in a bubble to not know what kind of reactions to expect for this ad film. All they are showing is a happy, sane and peaceful coexistence of religions. But in a situation where there is a constant need to hold up a villain for people to be perpetually angry and fearful about, this ad becomes yet another easy target. Tanishq hasn’t done anything wrong, or haven’t shown anything to be ashamed of. Tanishq pulls down its latest Hindu-Muslim Confluence ad, expert writes what exactly happened

New Delhi, June 21 (IANSlife) Yoga is the new old, and it's here to stay. From traditional yogis to the modern ones, yoga practitioners speak highly of its benefits. From physical to mental and even spiritual, the ancient practice has had a deep impact on many celebrity fitness trainers and enthusiasts, including Bollywood actors Malaika Arora and Shilpa Shetty Kundra. On International Yoga Day 2020, IANSlife spoke to many celebrity yoga enthusiasts on the transformational power of yoga. Here's what we learnt. Malaika Arora, actor and co-founder of Diva Yoga "There are a lot of times when life puts you down in a way that you feel it's difficult to hold your head above the water. I turned to yoga in a similar phase like that where I needed that bit of calm and direction in my life. Some people turn to meditation, others to writing or singing. Everybody has a different outlet, for me I found that in yoga. It really helped me at a very precarious stage in my life and I'm extremely grateful. "It has helped me manage my stress and gives me a certain level of spiritual peace. It helps to take a break from the chaos of our lives and more importantly from the chaos in our minds. Several platforms like Disney+Hotstar and the SARVA App have a number of specific asanas specially to uplift depressed moods, fight fatigue, and bring a state of calmness in an entirety, hence I'm a strong advocate for yoga." Bollywood actress Soha Ali Khan "Yoga is one of my most preferred forms of exercise - as it has a positive impact on the body as well as the mind. To complement my yoga routine, I also follow a healthy diet and ensure eating a handful of almonds every day. Almonds are considered as Sattvic foods, and are a source of 15 key nutrients like protein, Vitamin E, magnesium etc. Additionally, almonds provide energy and according to Ayurveda, they also help in toning all body tissues." Fitness enthusiast and Supermodel Milind Soman "I am a firm believer in the power of Yoga, and make it a part of my activity. And we all know how important this original idea of "health" is in today's times. Yoga's calming and balancing effects are immediate and of course it's regular and consistent practice brings about permanent changes of the highest quality..I couldn't recommend it enough..And I feel that this introduction of "International yoga day" is a brilliant initiative and coming from the land where Yoga comes from, we must not only be very proud but truly make it a very important part of our lives. I've been hearing a lot from people that Yoga se hi hoga. Its slow but even if I meditate for five minutes, its relaxing and I really want to go ahead and excel and completely pursue Yoga as I've been wanting to do so for the longest time. I started off with meditation and Surya Namaskar and it has really helped me, especially cope with the lockdown and the circumstances around us. With so much negativity happening around us, I have finally accepted Yoga, although not completely but it's a slow and steady process. My father and grandfather have been practicing Yoga for years but I've never gotten into it. Yoga has been catching on a lot recently but it has been practiced for years in my family. My dad has always told me to practice Yoga and I've always took it for granted but now I really value it." Actress Rasika Dugal "One of my yoga teachers said to me that yoga is as much about how the practice makes you feel when you are on the mat as when you are off the mat. Yoga has taught me how to be gentle with myself and that every small effort counts. It's one of those things that you keep doing calmly and persistently without the pressure of achieving anything and your body surprises you. I also love the detail of it - how one tiny change in the way you execute an aasana can transform the experience and effect of that aasana entirely." Actress Sonnalli Seygall "For me yoga tops the list when it comes to any sort of workout, because it's a complete body and mind workout. I have been practising since my childhood in Kolkata and that time yoga was not even so popular as it is now! Infact I feel sad when I see that yoga has become more popular now in India after the west made it famous with likes of Madonna doing it. We as Indians have such a beautiful, beneficial and old discipline passed down to us, I feel we should definitely incorporate it in our lifestyle. For me personally, yoga is my life! Excerpts: Q. How have the past few weeks been for the brand, considering the country has been in a lockdown? The past few weeks have been about following all local administration guidelines and taking precautions to ensure safety of our employees &amp; teams while trying to also ensure supplies to trade, and meeting demands of consumers affected due to the lockdown. We have also utilized this time to work towards spreading awareness and facilitating change for the cause of the elderly who are the most vulnerable during these times, through our social initiative, Tata Tea - Iss baar #BadonKeLiye #JaagoRe. Q. What is your marketing strategy right now? How have you been trying to continue building a connect with your audience? In wake of the novel coronavirus, it becomes important to stay relevant to our consumers by facilitating and inspiring genuine change. And that it is our endeavour with our social Initiative “Iss Baar #Badon ke liye Jaago Re” which aims to spread awareness and sensitize youth to support the senior citizens during this time. The initiative involves spreading awareness about the need to support the elderly, providing relevant tips, tying up with NGOs and providing a common platform for people to connect with them, and share stories of volunteers to inspire others to act. It encourages individuals to connect with senior citizens next door or in their neighborhood and help them overcome any challenges they might be facing during this crisis and restricted lockdown period. A simple action like checking on them to see if they need anything and taking steps to help them will make a big difference (Of course, all this needs to be done keeping in line with the COVID 19 guidelines, as provided by the local administration). We’re also tying up with NGOs and providing information so that people can reach out to them and volunteer, in case they want to further make a difference in supporting this cause of the elderly. Q. Has there been a change in your media mix? The endeavour is to spread awareness amongst the youth and drive genuine change for the cause for supporting the elderly. Considering the current consumer behaviour of increase in time spent online and on social media, the initiative is also largely focused on leveraging these mediums to drive awareness on our latest campaign. The initiative is also being supported by influencers, NGOs and experts in senior care management. Q. If the lockdown is further extended, will you be tweaking your marketing strategy further? Right now, our efforts are to ensure that we spread the message and drive genuine change with our social initiative. Since it is aimed at supporting the elderly, who are most vulnerable due to their decreased immunity, this initiative will remain relevant irrespective of the lockdown conditions. In fact, if the lockdown is further extended, then it is even more important to understand and address the medical, psychological and social needs of the elderly whose routine life will be far more disrupted leading them to be most prone to confusion and helplessness. Q. What are a few key learnings for you as a brand in the last few weeks? The most important learning for brands during this crisis is to do something that can genuinely make a positive impact to their consumers/society. During times like these, it becomes important to consumers on ‘how you make them feel’ and whether you can genuinely make a difference in their lives in a meaningful manner. The other learning is to be agile and adapt to changes in consumer patterns which has drastically changed due to ‘restricted lockdown’ conditions but may also continue to evolve and become the ‘new normal’ (even when the lockdown restrictions are eased).
