In the past few days many celebrities have raised their voice against the appointment of TV actor <keyword id="258297" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Gajendra-Chauhan">Gajendra Chauhan</keyword> as the <keyword id="2898983" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="FTII-chairman">FTII chairman</keyword>. Now film-maker <keyword id="30014" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Vivek-Agnihotri">Vivek Agnihotri</keyword>, whose political satire ‘Buddha In A Traffic Jam’ recently won the Best Original Screenplay in a foreign language award at the Madrid International Film Festival, has extended full support to FTII students. Pointing towards the qualification of Chauhan, he told Business Insider (BI) that “one can’t give a chance to a raw pilot to fly a Dreamliner and an intern to do a bypass surgery on a patient.” The controversy is very far from over; the students of the prestigious <keyword id="129188" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Film-and-Television-Institute-of-India">Film and Television Institute of India</keyword> (FTII) have been agitating for over 30 days and have declared that they would continue to protest against <keyword id="14666" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="BJP">BJP</keyword> member Chauhan’s appointment as the new head of the governing council. 

	Agnihotri, who directed movies such as ‘Hate Story’, and ‘Chocolate’, ‘Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal’, told BI: “Chauhan is not qualified for this job. I don’t care what movies he has done or their quality. What matters is that he has no track record, views, and above all vision for cinema.”
 

	Chauhan, who played the role of 'Yudhishthir' in popular television serial "Mahabharata", on his part remained unfazed and said he should be given a chance and allowed to work.
 The film-maker, whose wife actor <keyword id="6158" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Pallavi-Joshi">Pallavi Joshi</keyword> has stepped down on July 6 from the <keyword id="2929545" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="FTII-Society">FTII Society</keyword> in an expression of solidarity with students, said: “Chauhan claims he has done over 70 serials. So what? Even a junior artist does over 1,000 films.” Chauhan is not suited for the job, he said. On being asked about the role of the <keyword id="384646" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Information-and-Broadcasting-Ministry">Information and Broadcasting Ministry</keyword> in the controversial appointment, Agnihotri said: “I think I&amp;B authorities underestimated the FTII. They thought it is just an institute with few hundred scholars somewhere in Pune. Who will bother? But it (the decision to appoint Chauhan) boomeranged on them.” 

	He further said the appointment has nothing to do with syllabus or any other administrative issues. “It is about prestige of the institute which, now, everyone unanimously believe will be hampered by Chauhan’s appointment.”
 

	Justifying the strike, he said FTII students are politically more active than engineering or MBA students. In Vivek Agnihotri’s view, an alumnus of Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Delhi, the government should not hesitate to change the chairman.
 

	One such change will set the precedence for other institutes and bring the government under pressure, he said, adding: “There will be chaos. It is a complex situation and I am sure sooner or later our pragmatic PM will intervene and find a solution.”

Film-maker Vivek Agnihotri says, you can’t give ‘anyone’ a chance to run FTII

<keyword id="6369404" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Maggi">Maggi</keyword>, the popular instant noodle brand, is set to return to store shelves as <keyword id="75190" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Nestle">Nestle</keyword> said it cleared tests mandated by the Bombay High Court and that the company will restart production of the snack within two-three weeks. 
 
Nestle India announced a voluntary recall of the noodles on June 5, the same day national food regulator Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) banned its sale alleging excessive levels of lead in it and mislabeling on the pack. The recall, the country"s biggest and which grabbed international headlines, almost wiped out the entire instant noodles category and dented the sales of all packaged snacks, as wary consumers avoided them. 
 
In August, the Bombay High Court lifted the ban, but asked the company to get the samples tested before it starts selling the product. 
 
Finally, on Friday, Nestle said it received results from all three laboratories mandated by the high court to test the samples. 
 
All the 90 samples, covering six variants, tested by the laboratories had lead much below the permissible limits, it said. These are the same Maggi lots that failed to clear tests at FSSAI labs, it said. 
 There’s more good news. It seems as if <keyword id="35666" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="advertising">Advertising</keyword> veteran <keyword id="2257" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Prasoon-Joshi">Prasoon Joshi</keyword> is likely to create the re-launch campaign for Maggi. 
While Publicis Worldwide remains Maggi's advertising agency, manufacturer Nestle India has hired McCann World Group to manage the new project as the noodle brand tries to make a reentry into the market four months after the company recalled it, senior industry executives said. 
 Joshi is chief executive of McCann World Group India, a unit of global marketing firm <keyword id="109997" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="McCann-Erickson">McCann Erickson</keyword>. This decision, the executives said, comes on the heels of the 100-year corporate campaign that McCann created for Nestle this year, which was penned by Joshi himself.

Maggi set to return in two weeks, Prasoon Joshi to create the re-launch campaign

<keyword id="3194729" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sunil-V">Sunil V</keyword>, the man behind the <keyword id="4426715" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Make-in-India-campaign">Make in India campaign</keyword> of the Indian government and several IndiGo airline ad campaigns, has reportedly quit from his position as the executive creative director of Wieden+Kennedy Delhi. 
 Sunil would be launching his own venture outside the field of advertising and marketing. <keyword id="3194184" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Mohit-Jayal">Mohit Jayal</keyword>, who served as the director at Wieden+Kennedy, Delhi, has also resigned and would be joining Sunil as his partner. 
 
"My idea about advertising is not about the song and dance and I believe it is an industry for young people," Sunil, who has spent more than 25 years in the business, told ET. After working with Ogilvy &amp; Mather and McCann Erickson and launching his own agency ‘A’ in 2004, he merged it with W+K in 2007 as he brought the international agency to India. 
 "I think we have done what we could in advertising and now I have lost interest," stated Sunil. Even after quitting the agency, Sunil will continue working with the government's <keyword id="439521" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="department-of-industrial-policy-promotion">Department of Industrial Policy &amp; Promotion</keyword> (DIPP) as a consultant so that he can handle the Make in India campaign, his brainchild.

The latest campaign, 'Chhoti ho ya badi, har khushi mein Coca-Cola', features new brand ambassadors Deepika Padukone and <keyword id="5015" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Farhan-Akhtar">Farhan Akhtar</keyword>. As an extension of Coke's earlier 'Open Happiness' campaign, this one also looks at finding the smaller joys of life.

	Conceptualised by McCann Erickson, the campaign finds Deepika and Farhan interacting in everyday situations. Based in a rural environment, the company hopes that the campaign will resonate with the masses and place Coca-Cola firmly as the fastest growing soft drink brand.
 Debabrata Mukherjee, VP - Marketing &amp; Commercial, <keyword id="6385848" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Coca-Cola-India">Coca-Cola India</keyword>, said, "Coca-Cola is a brand that stands for optimism and happiness. Our communication for Coca-Cola this year focuses on reaching the masses and both Deepika and Farhan slipped into the roles of 'everyday people' with great ease. She is visibly angry since she thinks if she misses her exam she would be married off and would have to be in the kitchen all the time. Farhan Akhtar, who has been listening to the conversation between Deepika and her friend, takes a sip of Coke and quickly jumps into action. He takes his rickshaw and asks her to hop in. As they overtake the bus while enjoying the ride, the Coke song plays. He drops Deepika at the college gate and tells her that whatever he does, he won't make her stay in the kitchen all the time. The TVC ends with the voiceover declaring: "Khushi chhoti ho ya badi, har khushi mein Coca-Cola" (Be it a small or big happiness, for every happiness there is a Coca-Cola).

Coca-Cola Unveils New 'Happiness' Campaign That Celebrates Life's Joys, Big Or Small

<ul><li>Fifty years ago on International Women’s Day, L'Oréal Paris revolutionized the advertising world with the phrase, ‘Because I'm Worth It,’ spreading the message of respect and recognition for women.</li><li>Pau Gruart – General Manager, L'Oréal Paris - India walks us through the campaign's evolution and shares some key highlights it has seen over the years.</li></ul> L'Oréal Paris’ iconic tagline ‘You are worth it’ completed 50 years yesterday. It was way ahead of its time as it was launched when there was almost hardly an active conversation on women empowerment, at least in India. It was as recent as 2020 when FMCG giants selling beauty and skin care products were made to realise that portraying that women with lighter skin tones have a higher acceptability in our society, is problematic. This led to them finally changing their product names and taglines. Across the world, advertising had not given a voice to women until the late 70s; their husbands were talking for them. But on the occasion of International Women’s Day, a 23-year-old copywriter came up with the tagline ‘Because you’re worth it’ 50 years ago and it revolutionised the advertising industry. The first global ad came out in 1973 featuring film actor Joanne Dusseau. It has nudged women to look at themselves in the mirror and remind themselves that ‘You Are Worth It.’The tagline still remains top of the mind of consumers and has been a clutter-breaking idea. Taking us back to the day when the tagline was born, Pau Gruart – General Manager, L’Oreal Paris - India said, “This tagline has been an inspiration to many and is celebrating 50 years and is still as relevant as ever! A young copywriter with McCann Erickson, Ilon Specht, created this iconic line, as part of an advertisement that was purely from the point of view of women and her self-confidence, her decision, her style. These women have been an inspiration to the others and have shown every woman the right to be whoever she wants to be and reinvent herself in any way she wants in different ways.” Latest campaign: Stand Up In 2019, L’Oréal decided to extend its campaign and find out the most important issue women face in their daily lives. They discovered that the number one issue faced by women and girls around the world was street harassment. It later reached out to Ipsos to investigate the scale of sexual harassment in public spaces. The interntional survey found that 78% of women have experienced sexual harassment in public spaces (4 in every 5 women). And of those - only 25% say someone helped. The main reason why: because 86% of women do not know what to do when we witness harassment. The brand is now reaffirming its commitment to protecting individual self-worth through its training program, Stand Up Against Street Harassment, which was launched in India in November 2020 in partnership with NGO Breakthrough. From You’re Worth It to Stand up, how L’Oréal Paris’ communication has empowered women over the years

According <a href="http://www.clioawards.com/press/index.cfm?year=2014&amp;pressid=262">to the list of jury members released by the event's organizers</a>, there will be 30 female jury members this year and only 29 men.
"We've been talking about it for over a year, since before we even started going through the jury selection process," CLIO Awards executive director Nicole Purcell said. "It really started to come together, and this year, we have an amazing jury."
The CLIO Awards is an annual, international competition honoring achievements in advertising, design, and communications. Each year, agencies and individuals submit their best work for consideration in 18 media types ranging from film to direct marketing. Since its inception in 1959, the contest has been judged by juries that were primarily male.
In the past, the show has given awards to ads that were not exactly progressive when it comes to gender, like <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ptmk-7h075k">this 2009 winner</a> for a Japanese hair removal brand called Esthe WAM:

The CLIOs set about to change that this past year, when the organization announced its intention to field a gender-equal jury in 2014 to be more strongly reflect the contributions of women to the advertising industry.
To do this, Purcell and her team created a place on the CLIO Awards website for people to submit anonymous nominations, since women are less likely than men to submit themselves for consideration. The CLIO Awards also met with the major agencies to find talented women and encourage them to serve as judges.
With the help of the agencies and the awareness created by ongoing industry conversation gender equality in creative roles, Purcell said the task of finding talented females for her juries was not particularly difficult.
"It came easier than it has in the past, I think because of everyone talking about creative women in the field," Purcell said. "People are always asking 'Where are these female creatives?' Well, guess what? We just found them."
Purcell said she did not think the increased number of women on the juries would alter the results of the competitions in any way.
"At the end of the day, when we start the jury selection process, what we're looking for is the thought provokers and the idea generators," said Brooke Barasch, the CLIO Awards' director of marketing. "The idea really isn't about the perspective of males or females, it's really about just having the creative minds in the room."

For The First Time Ever, Women Will Be In Charge Of The U.S.'s Most Prestigious Ad Awards Show

Local musicians and restaurants tend to share the same struggle - figuring out how to stay afloat in competitive, cutthroat industries.
So what happens when they work together?
Enter <a href="http://www.musiccitypizza.com" target="_blank">Music City Pizza</a>, a restaurant in Nashville, Tennessee, where pizzas are named after bands and charities. For each pie sold, the band or charity receives $1. It's the brainchild of Keith Hayman, a former touring musician who owns both Music City Pizza and the adjacent music venue <a href="http://www.12andporter.com" target="_blank">12th &amp; Porter</a>. Every few months, he selects new bands and charities to feature on the menu.
We interviewed Hayman as part of our Fast Track Q&amp;A series in which we're asking various small-business owners the same 11 questions about their professional and personal inspirations. Hayman shared with us his weirdest job (selling nonalcoholic beer), his talents as a human jukebox, and the pizza craving that led him to create Music City Pizza.

BI Studios: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Keith Hayman: I wanted to be a professional football player, and I wanted to be a professional musician. I wound up playing college football, and then I wound up being a touring musician for about three years. I'm a self-taught piano player and guitar player.
BI: How did you get the idea for your business?
KH: I was splitting time in the four corners of the country doing disaster work, so I moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to be centrally located. When I moved to Nashville, I opened up a music loft called Hayman Loft and hosted a speakeasy with top music people for four years.
One day I was on my balcony, staring at the skyline and wondering why I couldn't get any pizza delivered. I said to myself, there has to be a Music City Pizza in Nashville. I Googled "Music City Pizza" and nothing came up. I went to domain.com and went to musiccitypizza.com and it was available, and that's how the idea started.
I connected it with an old music venue called <a href="http://12andporter.com/" target="_blank">12th &amp; Porter</a>, so I combined the two business operations. My twist on the pizza venture is that I'm naming pizzas after bands and charities. If you're a band and I believe in you, then I'll name a pizza after you. Charities jumped all over this, so I've been raising money for lots of different charities by selling pizza. Right now I'm working with the Boys &amp; Girls Club, Notes for Notes, and I'm doing one called Firehouse so all the firefighters get to vote on whatever pizza they want named after the firehouse.
BI: How did you pick the name for your business?
KH: This is Nashville - it's known as Music City. It's got Music City everything, and it didn't have Music City Pizza. So I thought it'd be a pretty good one to go with.

BI: What is the biggest risk you've taken in your career?
KH: I quit my job right after getting a promotion to backpack around the world for a year by myself. I was with the company I'm working for now, <a href="http://adjustersinternational.com/" target="_blank">Adjusters International</a>.
During that year the first thing I did was go to the Burning Man festival, and then I lived on Martha's Vineyard for two months working on a sailboat. I traveled to New Zealand for two months and hiked the glaciers. I went to Australia and learned to scuba dive at the Great Barrier Reef. I went to Malaysia, Thailand, India, and other places.
I was living on $3 to $10 a day - $50 a day in Western countries. I was living on beaches and sleeping with big spiders. This was not a luxury adventure.
BI: What's the strangest request you've had from a customer?
KH: People ask me all the time to name pizzas after them. Because my business model is naming pizzas after bands and charities, people come in and say, "Why don't you name a pizza after me?" I accommodate it after charities. But if Taylor Swift comes in and wants a pizza named after her, I may take a different consideration.
BI: What is your greatest talent, professional or otherwise?
KH: I'm known as a human jukebox for my ability to hear and play songs on command. I can throw a football about 40 yards behind my back, and I can also blow stick bubbles off my tongue. Three unique talents!
BI: What's the first job you ever had?
KH: I was at a pizza restaurant, Jerry's Sub Shop, in Southern Maryland. I was getting paid minimum wage, $3.50 an hour.
BI: What's the weirdest job you've ever had?
KH: My weirdest job was fresh out of college. I got a job as a special-events manager for McCann-Erickson. I was on the Anheuser-Busch account helping with branding for O'Doul's nonalcoholic beer. I had to drive a 24-foot beer truck with 30 kegs of nonalcoholic beer. I can't think of a bigger waste of time than driving around with lots of beer that can't get you drunk.
BI: Which entrepreneur or business personality do you most admire?
KH: Steve Jobs. He was revolutionary in innovation and thinking outside the box and creating simple products that the entire world uses.
BI: If you had a superpower, what would it be?
KH: To grant myself additional superpowers!
BI: What advice would you give to an aspiring small-business owner?
KH: Plan for the best and prepare for the worst.
