<ul class="summary-list"><li>The "<keyword id="343" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="60" keywordseo="Friends">Friends</keyword>" reunion special was released on HBO Max on Thursday. </li><li>In several shots of the special, <keyword id="516747" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Matt-LeBlanc">Matt LeBlanc</keyword>, who played Joey, sits with his arms crossed.</li><li>The image became a meme on Twitter, with people saying LeBlanc looked like an Irish uncle.</li></ul><p>An image of actor Matt LeBlanc sitting with his arms crossed in a striped shirt has taken Twitter by storm, with users posting <a href="https://twitter.com/ShaneDoherty/status/1398651338494459907?s=20">memes about him having massive "Irish uncle energy."</a></p><p>LeBlanc reunited with former costars David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, and Courteney Cox in an HBO Max special celebrating the renowned sitcom "Friends." The unscripted reunion event <a href="https://www.insider.com/friends-reunion-special-details-information-2020-3">also brought in other celebrities including</a> BTS, Mindy Kaling, and Lady Gaga.</p><p>While the evening was full of reminiscing about the show, Twitter users - including many from Ireland - had a very specific take on the event. LeBlanc, as riffed on in many viral tweets, gave off the vibe of an Irish uncle or dad.</p><p>"The rest of the world should know that for the last 24 hours Irish Twitter has become OBSESSSED with how much Matt Le Blanc looks like everyone's uncle/cousin," Irish comedian Dara Ó Briain tweeted on Saturday, quote-retweeting a thread compiling the <keyword id="1605152" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Memes">memes</keyword> from Twitter user @theofluffycat. "Read this thread to get the full sense of it. Or don't; because you won't understand the half of it."</p><p>The screencaps of LeBlanc that are floating around online do have a paternal energy that seems to have resonated with Irish Twitter users in particular, who fired off meme after meme over the weekend after the special premiered. </p><p><a href="https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/tanyachen/irish-twitter-matt-leblanc-friends-meme">BuzzFeed News' Tanya Chen polled Irish Twitter users</a> to ask what it was about LeBlanc that made him resonate so heavily as the uncle next door online. <a href="https://twitter.com/HawHillFarm/status/1399107024466726918?s=20">One Twitter user said</a> that he "looks like the Irish Uncle with a heart of gold" who is "behind the times, rough round the edges, loves life, his family, his cattle and you, hugs like a bear, drinks like a fish, talks the hind legs off a donkey and punched that guy in the gob who slagged off your gay partner."</p><p>Of course, some of the memes also riffed on LeBlanc's "Friends" character Joey's iconic line: "How you doin'?"</p><p>It's unclear if LeBlanc is aware of the memes, as he has yet to acknowledge them publicly. He did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment. </p>

Courteney Cox was <a href="https://www.insider.com/friends-cast-emmy-nominations-wins-ranked-2020-9">the only main cast member of "Friends" not to earn an Emmy nod</a> at any point during the series' run.</p><p>The Monica Geller actress spoke about this omission during a recent interview with Howard Stern on his <a href="https://www.siriusxm.com/channels/howard-100" target="_blank" title="(opens new window)" rel="noopener">SiriusXM show,</a> telling the host that it hurt to be the only one not bestowed with the honor, particularly since all five of her "Friends" costars were nominated for the show at some point across the years.</p><p>"Yeah, it always hurt my feelings," Cox said. "When every single cast member was nominated but me, it definitely hurt my feelings. I was happy for everybody, and then when it was finally like, 'Oh, I'm the only one?' But it's Phoebe Buffay actress <a href="https://www.insider.com/friends-cast-emmy-nominations-wins-ranked-2020-9#6-courteney-cox-has-zero-emmy-nominations-1">Lisa Kudrow who received the most nominations for "Friends"</a> with six nods in total. She won in 1998 for supporting actress in a comedy series.</p><p>All five of Cox's costars have also been Emmy nominated for other projects throughout their careers. Cox has not. However, she did earn a Golden Globe nomination in 2010 for "Cougar Town" (best actress in a comedy/musical TV series) and this made her feel better about her previous shoutouts, the actress said.</p><p>"The only thing that made me feel good - because they've all won and they've gotten so many accolades - I got nominated for 'Cougar Town' the first year [out] - a Golden Globe. And I want to say, 'Oh, who cares?' It meant<em> everything</em> to me," Cox explained.</p><p>"I wanted my peers to respect me and I know that the Golden Globes is not your peers, necessarily, but it's like, 'Ah!' "I've never wanted to take anything away from anyone. I just sometimes want to be included in certain things … And these girls on the show and the guys, everyone deserved every [nomination]. I'm in awe of both of your talent."</p><p>Aniston is the friend who has most recently received significant awards attention, earning Golden Globe and Emmy nominations for <a href="https://www.insider.com/jennifer-aniston-scene-the-morning-show-limo-crying-therapy-2020-8">"The Morning Show."</a> She also <a href="https://www.insider.com/brad-pitt-jennifer-aniston-sag-awards-photos-2020-1">won a Screen Actors' Guild award</a>, too, and a second season is on its way this year.</p><p>Meanwhile, Cox will next be seen in the 2022 instalment of "Scream."</p>

Part of Fabrice's appeal to clients is his tight-lipped discretion. He says this has allowed him to attract a client list of presidents, Hollywood A-listers, billionaires, and even British athletes competing at this summer's Olympics in Rio. He <a href="http://uk.businessinsider.com/chris-evans-has-quit-top-gear-2016-7">resigned last week</a>, however, having only made six.</p><p>The 12-14 episodes, which comprised series 23 of "Top Gear," were supposed to be broken into two blocks: the first beginning in May and the second planned for later this year.</p><p>Sources have claimed that plans for a second batch of episodes in 2016 were in the balance before Evans resigned and have now been completely derailed by the presenter's departure. Pre-production has begun on series 24 and filming is set to get underway in September, for transmission next year.</p><p>Because he failed to meet the target, Evans will take home only a third of the pay from his three-year "Top Gear" deal. A BBC insider said this could be worth as much as £1 million, but this figure was disputed by a second, more senior, source.</p><p>TV industry sources have also speculated that Evans took some ownership of "Top Gear's" intellectual property when he signed up to host the programme in June 2015, but this has been denied by the BBC.</p><p>A BBC insider argued that corporation had been attempting to "engineer" Evans' resignation for some time, but could not sack the presenter because his agent Michael Foster negotiated a "very strong contract" and it would have been too expensive.</p><p>The source, and others inside the BBC, added that Mark Linsey - the director of the BBC's in-house production unit BBC Studios - "did not argue too much" with Evans when he tendered his resignation last week.</p><p>Evans is unlikely to be replaced directly on 'Top Gear." He will continue to host his Radio 2 breakfast show. The BBC is now attempting to convince Matt Le Blanc to stay on for a further series after the former "Friends" star's performance on the show was praised by critics.</p><h2>BBC confident "Top Gear" will retain international appeal</h2><p>BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm that distributes "Top Gear" to broadcasters around the world, expects the show's international appeal to be undimmed by the changes."We remain extremely confident about the ongoing position of Top Gear," a spokesperson said.</p><p>Despite this, Top Gear USA, the History Channel version of the BBC motoring show, was cancelled last week.
