All good things must come to an end and the same goes for Bollywood. After a magnificent spell of back-to-back blockbusters in the form 
of <keyword id="227940" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Chennai-Express">Chennai Express</keyword>, <keyword id="500441" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="Krrish-3">Krrish 3</keyword> and <keyword id="1886157" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ram-Leela">Ram-Leela</keyword> (yes, this flick from <keyword id="6358308" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="sanjay-leela-bhansali">Sanjay Leela Bhansali</keyword> is finally looking <keyword id="41744" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="UP">up</keyword> and nearing the Rs 100 crore mark but more on that later), two more movies hit the screens on Friday (November 22) – <keyword id="2165" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kareena-Kapoor">Kareena Kapoor</keyword> (<keyword id="2857" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bebo">Bebo</keyword>) and <keyword id="14676" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Imran-Khan">Imran Khan</keyword>’s much-hyped <keyword id="1636016" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="rom-com">rom-com</keyword> <keyword id="1538595" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Gori-Tere-Pyaar-Mein">Gori Tere Pyaar Mein</keyword> and <keyword id="9271" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sunny-Deol">Sunny Deol</keyword>’s rustic action flick <keyword id="1481019" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Singh-Saab-The-Great">Singh Saab The Great</keyword>. But after our usual 4-day tally, the numbers are none too impressive. 
 
Let’s take a close look at Gori Tere first, directed by <keyword id="112568" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Punit-Malhotra">Punit Malhotra</keyword>. According to a trade website, the total collection after 4 days (Nov 22-25) stands at a paltry Rs 16.5 crore and certainly nowhere near the Big League. In his latest tweet, film critic and analyst Taran Adarsh says: #GTPM is better in UAE, below the mark in USA-Canada &amp; UK, poor in Australia and disaster in NZ. Overseas total: $ 980,000 [Rs 6.12 crore]. 
 
If the collection doesn’t pick up soon, Imran could be in trouble. Well, <keyword id="828519" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Ek-Main-Aur-Ekk-Tu">Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu</keyword> (Shakun Batra’s directorial debut in 2012), his last movie opposite Bebo, did well at <keyword id="25892" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="box-office">box office</keyword> and grossed a total of $8.1 million in India and abroad. But the year 2013 hasn’t been exactly great and both his films, <keyword id="814061" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="80" keywordseo="Matru-Ki-Bijlee-Ka-Mandola">Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola</keyword> (a <keyword id="825824" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="political-satire">political satire</keyword>) and <keyword id="1717335" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Once-Upon-A-Time-In-Mumbai-Dobaara">Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara</keyword> (a <keyword id="1952408" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Gangster-flick">gangster flick</keyword>) failed to bomb the box office. In contrast, Bebo has done extremely well in Madhur Bhandarkar’s <keyword id="6439486" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="80" keywordseo="heroine">Heroine</keyword> and <keyword id="125922" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Reema-Kagti">Reema Kagti</keyword>’s suspense thriller <keyword id="1952412" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Talaash-The-Answer-Lies-Within">Talaash: The Answer Lies Within</keyword>. Starring <keyword id="6355923" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Aamir-Khan">Aamir Khan</keyword>, Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor, <keyword id="861273" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="80" keywordseo="Talaash">Talaash</keyword> also entered the <keyword id="925977" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Rs-100-crore-club">Rs 100 crore club</keyword> and raked in a total of Rs 131.78 crore. 
 However, the <keyword id="1952416" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Lukewarm-response">lukewarm response</keyword> to Gori Tere could be due to the over-used theme. Although Imran sparkles in his romedy (romance-comedy) role as a rich architect and Bebo looks pretty stunning in her desi avatar while she pursues her fiery zeal for social work, the ‘bridging’ between the ‘unlikely’ partners is kind of predictable nowadays. And strangely enough, this flick reminds you of an earlier hit (<keyword id="14521" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="80" keywordseo="Jab-We-Met">Jab We Met</keyword>) where Bebo did it with equal spontaneity and spunk. Gori Tere is sweet and breezy, but the freshness of the <keyword id="1952417" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Shahid-Kapoor-Bebo">Shahid Kapoor-Bebo</keyword> starrer is somewhat missing here and the sparks are not flying. In perspective, Adarsh has tweeted: #BusinessTalk: #RamLeela dominates, #GTPM dismal, #SSTG decent in mass circuits! 
 
And that brings us to the other movie of the week – Gadar director Anil Sharma’s Singh Saab The Great. Sunny Deol-starrer Singh Saab has moved ahead of Gori Tere and grossed around Rs 21.5 crore after four days. The response has been good in North India, especially in Punjab and Delhi, and single screens have seen good turnouts except in the East and the South. 
 In this <keyword id="1952421" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Action-drama">action drama</keyword>, Sunny plays a collector of a small city in <keyword id="6357713" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Uttar-Pradesh">Uttar Pradesh</keyword> and values his honesty and integrity more than anything else. He fights corruption and injustice to usher in the change that real-life politicos never stop mentioning. Overall, it features a contemporary and relevant theme that can impact the audience. <keyword id="1855052" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="SSTG">SSTG</keyword> [limited screens] is best in USA-Canada, but ordinary elsewhere. Overseas total: approx $400,000 [Rs. 2.50 crore], tweeted Adarsh. 
 Meanwhile, Bhansali’s Ram-Leela is catching up after some initial hiccups. Last week, the Lucknow bench of the <keyword id="48834" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Allahabad-High-Court">Allahabad High Court</keyword> banned the screening of <keyword id="1942272" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Goliyon-Ki-Raasleela-Ram-leela">Goliyon ki Raasleela Ram-Leela</keyword> in Uttar Pradesh. The court has, however, allowed the producer and director to run the film without using ‘Ram-Leela’ and ‘Raasleela’ in the title. In its ruling, the bench said, “We are only concerned with the use of word ‘Ram-Leela’ in the title of the film, which hurts the sentiments of billions of peoples not only in India but all over the world.” 
 
But in spite of the controversies, Ram-Leela continues to dominate and seems to have overtaken Krrish 3 in the global market. According to Adarsh, #Krrish3 affected by #RamLeela wave. Overseas total *after Weekend 4*: approx $8.5 million [Rs 53.07 crore]. Blockbuster! 
 
As of now (after the 26th day), Krrish 3 has grossed a total of Rs 263.20 crore. But the question is – can Ram-Leela overtake Krrish 3 and become the topmost earner? We need to wait and watch – picture abhi baki hai and the box office war is far from over.

'Gori Tere Pyaar Mein' Not Yet A Box Office Hit; 'Singh
Saab' Moves Up The Scale

Whether it’s the hero’s charisma, the heroine’s charm or the PR machinery doing its job well, the hype created around big-budget films nowadays is commendable and often ensures a great opening. But that doesn’t mean the movie is going to be a big hit in the long run. Neither the star power, nor the publicity can save some flicks from being box office bombs. And the result? An over-hyped flop! <keyword id="143" type="CITY" weightage="40" keywordseo="Bollywood">Bollywood</keyword> has produced a lot of these over-hyped duds and here’s a look at the top of the flops. 
 
1. <keyword id="6593120" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Jai-Ho">Jai Ho</keyword> 
This one finally made us doubtful about Brand Salman, well-known for churning out mega hits that rake in big moolah. Although the man himself promoted his film unabashedly almost everywhere, the movie has seen a lukewarm response from Day 1. True, it has managed to enter the 100 crore club, but that’s no big feat for a Salman-starrer. 
 
2. Besharam 
We never had good vibes since the time this flick made its first appearance. Still, we had faith in Ranbir Kapoor. But after the gem called Barfi, the star fell flat on his face in Besharam. There’s not much of a storyline here and the rumours that the female lead was played by the director’s girlfriend also went against the film. 
 
3. Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara Here’s a victim of supreme overconfidence – a sequel that has swanky names and no storyline. While Akshay sucked as the lousy don, <keyword id="14676" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Imran-Khan">Imran Khan</keyword> never looked so artificial. 
 
4. Himmatwala 
Not every remake can be a Devdas. Himmatwala, one of the most anticipated movies of 2013, turned out to be one of the biggest stumbles of the year. Directed by <keyword id="16026" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Sajid-Khan">Sajid Khan</keyword>, who had earlier come up with hits like Housefull, and starring a fine actor like <keyword id="6354714" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Ajay-Devgn">Ajay Devgn</keyword>, it should have been a super hit, but came down crashing due to its all-round poor performance. 
 
5. <keyword id="22939" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="boss">Boss</keyword> Just like Salman, <keyword id="2823" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Akshay-Kumar">Akshay Kumar</keyword> is known to deliver hits, especially after movies such as Special Chabbis, Rowdy Rathore and Khiladi 786 rocked the box office. But the bubble burst when Boss was released. The audacious Akshay didn’t even have a heroine to himself in the film. But then, a bikini-clad Aditi Rao Hydari (romancing someone else) and Akshay Kumar as a Jat were not enough to churn out a hit. 
 
6. Ghanchakkar 
Just when Vidya Balan was thinking to change her name to Vidya Balan ‘Khan’ who could produce a blockbuster every time, Ghanchakkar happened. Considering her earlier releases such as Kahaani and <keyword id="512405" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="40" keywordseo="the-dirty-picture">The Dirty Picture</keyword>, all eyes were on this one but the tanked miserably at the box office. Even Vidya’s unfunny Punju accent couldn’t save it. 
 
7. Nasha India might be the land of Kama Sutra, but when it comes to watching semi-porn movies, we are still not comfortable. Every time the Internet sensation <keyword id="597184" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Poonam-Pandey">Poonam Pandey</keyword> titillated everyone with tweets about her film, Nasha, she added millions of followers. But those virtual fans never made it to the theatre to watch the flick. 
 
8. Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola 
Vishal Bhardwaj is a director whose films are always looked forward to. And his last release was no different except for the fact that the film didn’t impact the audience in the same way as before. 
 
9. Heroine Kareena is the <keyword id="6377522" type="POSITION" weightage="40" keywordseo="queen">Queen</keyword> Bee of Bollywood while <keyword id="6389563" type="PERSON" weightage="40" keywordseo="Madhur-Bhandarkar">Madhur Bhandarkar</keyword> is a seasoned director. So when the two came together, fireworks were obvious. But to everyone’s surprise, Heroine turned out to be one of the biggest disasters.
