<br />To mark the occasion, ISRO shared some pictures from the <keyword id="1927478" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mars-Colour-Camera">Mars Colour Camera</keyword> (MCC) on board the Mars Orbiter Spacecraft (MOS). <br /><br />In order to fulfil its mission of collecting data to study the Martian atmosphere and observe the red planet's physical features, the MOS also carries a thermal infrared imaging spectrometer, methane sensor for Mars, Mars exospheric neutral composition analyser and a Lyman Alpha photometer.<br /><br />Here are some of the images that have been captured so far:<br /><br />

Mars Orbiter Mission completes 4 years: In pictures

Washington, <keyword id="6360409" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="nasa" source="Orion">NASA</keyword>'s <keyword id="47638" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="mars" source="Orion">Mars</keyword> Reconnaissance Orbiter (<keyword id="46371" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="mro" source="Orion">MRO</keyword>) spacecraft has captured unusual circles of sand dunes on the Red Planet.<br /><br />The dunes were snapped by MRO's High Resolution Imaging Experiment (HiRise) colour camera.<br /><br />While sand dunes of many shapes and sizes are common on Mars. The MRO captured "dunes that are almost perfectly circular, which is unusual," wrote planetary geologist <keyword id="1636162" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="alfred-mcewen" source="Orion">Alfred McEwen</keyword> for a HiRise picture-of-the-day feature.<br /><br />While being circular, "they are still slightly asymmetrical" and have "steep slip faces on the south ends," McEwen wrote.<br /><br />He explained that this indicates that "sand generally moves to the south, but the winds may be variable".<br /><br />The dunes were snapped in late November last year - when researchers were studying the area to monitor for seasonal changes in frost coverage. This image shows frost is absent from the landscape.<br /><br />MRO, which has higher-resolution instruments than <keyword id="322890" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="odyssey" source="Orion">Odyssey</keyword>, was launched in 2005. NASA spacecraft captures unusual circles of sand dunes on Mars

While sunsets on Mars are uniquely moody, <keyword id="6360409" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="nasa" source="Orion">NASA</keyword>'s <keyword id="69295" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="curiosity" source="Orion">Curiosity</keyword> rover has captured a stunning image of a martian sunset, featuring light rays that illuminated a bank of clouds as the sun set over the horizon.<br /><br />These 'sun rays' are also known as crepuscular rays, from the Latin word for 'twilight'. It was the first time sun rays have been so clearly viewed on Mars.<br /><br /> Curiosity, which was built by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory and managed by Caltech in Pasadena, California, on February 2 captured the scene during the rover's newest twilight cloud survey, which builds on its 2021 observations of noctilucent, or night-shining, clouds.<br /><br />While most Martian clouds hover no more than 37 miles (60 kilometres) above the ground and are composed of water ice, the clouds in the latest images appear to be at a higher altitude, where it's especially cold. That suggests these clouds are made of carbon dioxide ice or dry ice.<br /><br />On Earth, clouds provide scientists with complex but crucial information for understanding the weather. By looking at when and where clouds form, scientists can learn more about the Martian atmosphere's composition and temperatures, and the winds within it.<br /><br />The 2021 cloud survey included more imaging by Curiosity's black-and-white navigation cameras, providing a detailed look at a cloud's structure as it moves. But the recent survey, which began in January and will wrap up in mid-March, relies more often on the rover's colour Mast Camera, or Mastcam, which helps scientists see how cloud particles grow over time.<br /><br />In addition to the image of sun rays, Curiosity captured a set of colourful clouds shaped like a feather on Jan. 27. When illuminated by sunlight, certain types of clouds can create a rainbowlike display called iridescence.<br /><br />"Where we see iridescence, it means a cloud's particle sizes are identical to their neighbours in each part of the cloud," said <keyword id="5761402" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="mark-lemmon" source="Orion">Mark Lemmon</keyword>, an atmospheric scientist with the <keyword id="2552836" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="space-science-institute" source="Orion">Space Science Institute</keyword> in Boulder, Colorado. "By looking at colour transitions, we're seeing particle size changing across the cloud. That tells us about the way the cloud is evolving and how its particles are changing size over time."<br /><br />Curiosity captured both the sun rays and iridescent clouds as panoramas, each of which was stitched together from 28 images sent to Earth. NASA's Curiosity rover captures first 'Sun Rays' on Mars

He added that if those landings go well, then the first crewed flights to Mars will be in four years. Taking to X, Elon Musk stated, "The first Starships to Mars will launch in 2 years when the next Earth-Mars transfer window opens. These will be uncrewed to test the reliability of landing intact on Mars.<br /><br />"If those landings go well, then the first crewed flights to Mars will be in 4 years. Flight rate will grow exponentially from there, with the goal of building a self-sustaining city in about 20 years. Being multiplanetary will vastly increase the probable lifespan of consciousness, as we will no longer have all our eggs, literally and metabolically, on one planet," he added. <br /><br />In another post on X, Musk stated that SpaceX created the first fully reusable rocket stage and made the reuse economically viable. "SpaceX created the first fully reusable rocket stage and, much more importantly, made the reuse economically viable. Making life multiplanetary is fundamentally a cost per ton to Mars problem," Musk posted on X.<br /><br />"It currently costs about a billion dollars per ton of useful payload to the surface of Mars. That needs to be improved to USD 100k/ton to build a self-sustaining city there, so the technology needs to be 10,000 times better. Extremely difficult, but not impossible," he added. <br /><br />In June this year, SpaceX's Starship, the most powerful launch vehicle ever made, launched and achieved key objectives planned for its fourth test flight that showcased the vehicle's reusability, CNN reported. It was launched from a private Starbase facility in Boca Chica, Texas, on June 6 at 8:50 am ET, and the company streamed live coverage on X. <br /><br />The Starship launch system has the upper Starship spacecraft and a rocket booster known as the Super Heavy. According to SpaceX broadcast, of the rocket's 33 engines, 32 lit during the launch of the Starship, according to CNN report. The vehicle achieved multiple milestones during the test flight, including the survival of the Starship capsule upon reentry during peak heating in Earth's atmosphere and splashdown of both the capsule and booster.<br /><br />After separating from the spacecraft, the Super Heavy booster for the first time executed a landing burn and had a soft splashdown in the Gulf of Mexico after eight minutes of the launch.<br /><br />Meanwhile, the Starship capsule achieved orbital insertion. Around 50 minutes following the launch, the spacecraft started its controlled reentry journey, and a colourful buildup of plasma could be witnessed around the vehicle as its heat shield faced the extreme temperatures of Earth's atmosphere, CNN reported. <br /><br />The Starlink satellites of the company helped in the livestream that was continuously available during reentry. A flap near the camera view on Starship seemed to scorch during reentry, and particulate matter blocked some of the view of the camera, the report said. In the end, Starship was able to achieve its expected landing burn into the <keyword id="19899989" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="indian-ocean" source="keywords">Indian Ocean</keyword>.<br /><br />

Realme GT 7 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset launched starting at ₹59,999

<p></p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div>Xiaomi, the red-hot Chinese startup that is taking Asia by storm, has just announced an impressive new smartphone.<p>The company held a product launch outside of its native China for the first time, and revealed the Xiaomi Mi 4i on stage in India, the successor to its previous Mi 4 phone.</p><p>With a 5-inch HD screen and strong technical specs, it's an attractive device for those in developing markets, especially considering its price - just 12,999RS, around $205 or £136.</p><p>Xiaomi isn't a familiar name to most in the West because it has only relatively recently expanded from China, and still has no presence in Europe or North America. But in just five years, it has exploded to become the most valuable startup in the world - worth an estimated $45 billion.</p><p>The company has grown so quickly off the back of its famously devoted fan-base, for which the company frequently throws parties and flash sales. At the Mi 4i launch, executive Hugo Barra thanked the fans who apparently travelled from all across India, and "took time off from work, took time off from school just to be here."</p><p>Criticism has been levelled at Xiaomi over the design of its products, some of which look similar to Apple's. <a href="http://uk.businessinsider.com/xiaomi-to-jony-ive-try-our-phones-before-you-accuse-us-of-theft-2014-10">Apple design chief Jony Ive has even labelled them "theft," though Barra disputes this</a>. The Mi 4i launch was marred by the livestream crashing for most of the announcement - much like Apple's have done previously - leading some to quip that this is just another example of Xiaomi's imitation of the Cupertino company.</p><div><div></div></div><p>The Mi 4i won't be available in the West. Xiaomi doesn't intend to expand into the west for a "few years," according to Barra. But its low price point make it an attractive buy for consumers in the emerging markets it is targeting like India and China. (It is already the biggest smartphone company in China, ahead of both Apple and Samsung.)</p><p>In these markets, Xiaomi poses a serious threat to Google: While it uses Android, it uses a forked version of the operating system that doesn't come bundled with Google's services. And its devices are even cheaper than the average price of an Android device. But Apple is at risk too: Xiaomi, almost uniquely for an Android manufacturer, has developed a fanbase as loyal as Apple's own. "That is sad."</li></ul><p>Lewis Hamilton says he is "overcome with rage" at the death of George Floyd, and that he is sick of people of color being "born guilty."</p><p>Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, died in Minneapolis on May 25 after white police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for nearly eight minutes during an arrest. Chauvin has since been charged with third-degree murder.</p><p>"This past week has been so dark. I have failed to keep hold of my emotions," six-time F1 World Champion Hamilton, 35, said in an Instagram post on Tuesday.</p><p>"I have felt so much anger, sadness and disbelief in what my eyes have seen.</p><p>"I am completely overcome with rage at the sight of such blatant disregard for the lives of our people. The injustice that we are seeing our brothers and sisters face all over the world time and time again is disgusting, and MUST stop."</p><p>"So many people seem surprised, but to us unfortunately, it is not surprising. Those of us who are black, brown or in between, see it everyday and should not have to feel as though we were born guilty, don't belong, or fear for our lives based on the colour of our skin."</p><p>Floyd's death has sparked eight nights of mass protests across the United States against the treatment of black people by police. While most have been peaceful, some have been marred by <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/protests-death-george-floyd-minneapolis-new-york-denver-2020-5?r=US&amp;IR=T#protests-reignited-in-cities-across-the-country-for-the-sixth-night-in-a-row-while-local-officials-braced-for-more-violence-3ce-3">vandalism, break-ins, looting, burnt buildings, and violent clashes with police.</a> </p><p>"It took hundreds of thousands of peoples complaints and buildings to burn before officials reacted and decided to arrest Derek Chauvin for murder, and that is sad," Hamilton continued. </p><p>"Unfortunately, America is not the only place where racism lives and we continue to fail as humans when we cannot stand up for what is right. Please do not sit in silence, no matter the colour of your skin. Black Lives Matter."</p><p>On Sunday, Hamilton, Formula 1's first black driver, hit out at senior figures in the sport for not speaking out, saying: "I see those of you who are staying silent."</p><p>Following his most recent post on Instagram, Formula 1 released its first statement on the matter.</p><p>"We stand with you, and all people in the fight against racism," it said, <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/52898140">according to the BBC.</a> "It is an evil that no sport or society is truly immune from. Lewis Hamilton says he is 'overcome with rage' at the death of George Floyd, and that he is sick of people of color being 'born guilty'

<p><span>No matter how cluttered your Instagram feed may be, photos of objects neatly laid out against stark, neutral backgrounds are bound to draw your attention.</span></p><p><span><span>Items that are photographed from above and arranged so that viewers can see everything at once invite the eye to wander to each singular piece while also admiring the aesthetic as a whole.</span></span></p><p> </p><p>It turns out this trend actually has a name and a surprisingly long history.</p><p>It dates all the way back to 1987, when a janitor at Frank Gehry's furniture fabrication shop realized how nice it looked when he laid out all his tools at right angles, <a href="http://www.lyst.com/longlyst/art-knolling/">Sophie Hay at The Long Lyst has discovered</a>.</p><p>The janitor, Andrew Kromelow, called his display "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knoll_(verb)">knolling</a>," based on the clean lines of the mid-century modern <a href="http://www.knoll.com/">Knoll furniture</a> that Gehry was working on at the time.</p><p>American artist and sculptor <a href="http://www.tomsachs.org/">Tom Sachs</a>, who also spent time in Gehry's shop, picked up on Kromelow's knolling habit and turned it into an aesthetic with informal guidelines. He used the mantra "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knoll_(verb)#/media/File:Ten_Bullets_II.jpg">Always Be Knolling</a>" in his own studio and in <a href="http://www.tomsachs.org/works">his work</a>, and even made a studio manual that explained how to knoll to his employees in 2009.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image"></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>Knolling soon evolved to encompass anything laid out neatly, and became synonymous with magazine spreads with clean layouts that showcased numerous products in a clear way. <span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Visual designers loved it because the style made their products easy on the eyes.</span></p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image"></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>Bloggers soon adopted the style in their own photography to mimic magazines and draw readers. Then, the practice naturally progressed to Instagram.</p><p> </p><p>Many Instagrammers do not use the term "knolling," but refer to such a design as a "flatlay,"<a href="http://www.lyst.com/longlyst/art-knolling/"> The Long Lyst explains</a>. An Instagram account known as <a href="https://instagram.com/flatlays/">Flatlays</a> popped up in 2014 to document "our favorite flatlays from all across the globe."</p><p>Instead of being as rigid as the original knolling designs, these flatlays were less formal. They were styled to seem more haphazard.</p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image"></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>Brands were quick to realize how the photography style could work for them, too. <a href="https://instagram.com/gap/">GAP</a> and <a href="https://instagram.com/sephora/">Sephora</a> are two big name brands that are particularly adept at employing the trend to entice followers to shop their latest collections.</p><p> </p><p>And knolling today is not just about selling products, but a lifestyle. In addition to the bags, shoes, shirts, or jeans that are neatly laid out, the photographers also include a touch of reality.</p><p> </p><p>A camera is placed next to shoes, flowers are arranged near a shirt, or a cup of coffee is set down next to a scarf. <p class="source"><span>Youtube/Newsnight</span></p><p class="caption">Prince Andrew is interviewed by the BBC's Emily Maitlis about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.</p><ul class="summary-list"><li>In the announcement that he was stepping back from royal duties last month over public criticism for his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, Prince Andrew said he was willing to talk to law enforcement.</li><li>While his status as a prince complicates matters diplomatically, legal experts told Insider that Andrew could be compelled to talk to investigators if they file a request through The Hague.</li><li>Sources told Insider that any interview would likely happen in the UK, with certain conditions to help protect the prince from legal recourse.</li><li>They also opined that the prince is more likely to agree to an interview for public relations reasons.</li><li><a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/?hprecirc-bullet">Visit Business Insider's homepage for more stories.</a></li></ul><p>Ever since his car-crash interview last month, there has been mounting pressure for Prince Andrew to speak to US investigators about his <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/prince-andrew-jeffrey-epstein-connections-videos-flights-2019-8">friendship with deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein</a>.</p><p>The prince seems to be warming to the idea of sitting down with US investigators to talk about his relationship with Epstein, which he admitted last month was "ill-judged."</p><p>In his BBC interview, he said if his lawyers signed off on talking with American authorities, he "would be duty-bound to do so." And when he <a href="https://twitter.com/TheDukeOfYork/status/1197213619152396288" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced he was stepping back</a> from public life last month, he said he would be "willing to help any appropriate law enforcement agency with their investigations, if required."</p><p>But just how such a talk would go down remains up in the air. Insider spoke to three legal experts with experience in federal and sex abuse cases, who gave insight into the the likelihood of an Andrew interview, the conditions that could be set, and the possibility that he could become a target of the investigation.</p><h2>Prosecutors and investigators will likely want to talk to Prince Andrew</h2><p class="source"><span>Mugshot</span></p><p class="caption">Jeffrey Epstein.</p>Though Prince Andrew hasn't given too many details about what he witnessed during his friendship with Epstein - and he claims to have had no direct knowledge of illicit activities - investigators will still likely want to interview him, lawyer Dominique Penson told Insider.<p>Penson - a partner at Barasch, McGarry, Salzman &amp; Penson - has represented sexual abuse victims in the past, in cases involving the Catholic Church and Jehovah's Witnesses.</p><p>"I'm sure they would be interested in talking to him, because he was apparently close to Epstein on a number of occasions, and then of course everybody now knows the allegations made by Ms. Giuffre," Penson said, referring to Virginia Giuffre (née Roberts), who said Epstein paid her to have sex with the prince when she was 17 <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/prince-andrew-jeffrey-epstein-virginia-giuffre-alibis-discredited-2019-11">(the prince has said he has no recollection of ever meeting Giuffre).</a></p><p>Penson added: "If true, he had a close inside look into Epstein's sex-trafficking operation."</p><p>Since <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/jeffrey-epstein-conspiracy-theories-death-clinton-trump-2019-8">Epstein died in jail</a> before facing trial, justice for the <a href="https://www.thecut.com/2019/07/how-many-jeffrey-epstein-victims-are-there.html">dozens</a> of women who accused him of molesting, assaulting, or trafficking them has been in limbo. Prosecutors could turn their attention to Epstein's possible co-conspirators, which Giuffre has alleged includes Prince Andrew and <a href="https://www.insider.com/ghislaine-maxwell-jeffrey-epstein-alleged-madame-2019-7">Ghislaine Maxwell</a>, Epstein's one-time girlfriend and alleged madame. </p><p class="source"><span><a href="http://www.apimages.com/metadata/Index/Jeffrey-Epstein-Accusers/92beb8b6ed294710920af076092b30b4/2/0">Bebeto Matthews/AP</a></span></p><p class="caption">Virginia Roberts Giuffre is seen talking to reporters in August 2019.</p><h2>There's a good chance an interview could happen because of the public scrutiny against the prince</h2><p>Juliet Sorensen, a former federal prosecutor who now teaches public corruption and criminal law at Northwestern University's Pritzker School of Law, told Insider there's a good chance that Prince Andrew will speak to US investigators so that he can repair his tarnished reputation.</p><p><a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/newspaper-front-pages-prince-andrew-jeffrey-epstein-interview-2019-11">The media's reaction</a> to Andrew's <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKQi3wzNFGQ" target="_blank" rel="noopener">BBC</a> interview about his relationship with Epstein was widely panned, with many criticizing the prince for failing to show regret about the friendship or sympathy for the victims. Shortly after the interview, he announced that he would be <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/watch-prince-andrew-interview-about-epstein-connection-bbc-2019-11">taking a step back from public duties.</a></p><p>Speaking to investigators could be a step toward changing the public perception of him and returning to royal work.</p><p>When asked whether it was likely that Andrew would agree to speak to US officials, or if he was just trying to get brownie points by offering, Sorensen said "it's probably both."</p><p>"That is to say, he's probably received the advice that it's going to make him look better if he agreed to speak. It appears that the scrutiny of him and the pressure on him is increasing," Sorensen said.</p><p class="source"><span><a href="https://www.gettyimages.com/detail/news-photo/royal-ascot-race-meeting-thursday-ladies-day-prince-andrew-news-photo/52107904?adppopup=true">Tim Graham Photo Library via Getty Images</a></span></p><p class="caption">Prince Andrew and Epstein are seen at  the Royal Ascot in 2000.</p><h2>He might not have a choice whether to cooperate or not</h2><p>But whether or not he talks to American investigators could be out of Prince Andrew's control.</p><p>Since both the US and UK are members of The Hague Convention, international law could come into play, Penson said. If prosecutors were proactive, they could file a request through The Hague, compelling Andrew to testify in the case.</p><p>The same goes for Epstein's victims - if they want Andrew's testimony badly enough or named him as a defendant, he could be compelled to testify.</p><p>Faced with the possibility that he could be forced to talk anyway, his recent offers to talk may have just been a move to get him some good PR, Penson said.</p><p>"If I were his lawyer and I thought, 'Gee, if they want it badly, they're telling me they're going to go through The Hague,' and I thought they're going to get it. Then - because you also have to have the public relations mind - probably better to cooperate," Penson said.</p><p class="source"><span>Anthony Devlin-WPA Pool/Getty Images, Rick Friedman/Corbis via Getty Images</span></p><p class="caption">Prince Andrew; Jeffrey Epstein.</p><h2>If an interview were to happen, it would likely take place in the UK</h2><p>Volunteering to sit down for an interview would also give Prince Andrew more power in setting the terms of the talk, Penson said.</p><p>Sorensen said that if she were the prince's lawyer, she would demand that the talk happen in the UK.</p><p>"Prince Andrew is not going to travel to the US and face the possibility of either exposure to US journalists or some type of arrest warrant that can only be effectuated if he comes to US soil," she said.</p><p>However, she said being arrested in the US is still highly unlikely for Andrew, since he's the son of Queen Elizabeth II.</p><p class="source"><span>Samir Hussein/WireImage</span></p><p class="caption">Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Andrew, Duke of York appear on the balcony during Trooping The Colour, the Queen's annual birthday parade, on June 08, 2019 in London, England.</p><h2>Andrew's status as a member of the British royal family complicates matters</h2><p>While the Queen is the only member of the royal family who has diplomatic immunity (called "sovereign immunity"), her son's royal pedigree certainly complicates matters.</p><p>If US officials obtain evidence that Prince Andrew committed a crime in the course of their investigation, they can demand his extradition to the US to face trial.</p><p>The extradition treaty between the US and UK works like this: If the US government wants to prosecute a British national for a crime, that act must also be a crime in the UK. Ultimately, it's up to a British judge whether to sign off on the extradition order, have the suspect arrested, and sent to the US.</p><p>But Sorensen says it's unlikely that American investigators would ever demand the prince's extradition because it could harm diplomatic relations between the two countries.</p><p>"I think that's totally unlikely because the US has other fish to fry, and has intimate relations with the United Kingdom that arresting a member of the royal family would jeopardize," Sorensen said.</p><p class="source"><span><a href="http://www.apimages.com/metadata/Index/Britain-Prince-Andrew/36843f0352c746d2bd988829bedf48e7/26/0">AP</a></span></p><p class="caption">A collection of British newspapers are seen the day after Prince Andrew decided to step away from public life, in the wake of his disastrous interview.</p><p>The fact that Andrew is a prince also means that decisions about his involvement in the case will be decided at the highest levels in the Department of Justice, University of Chicago law professor Sharon Fairley said.</p><p>"There's going to be a whole heck of a lot of scrutiny and hoops that are going to be jumped through to compel him to testify or charge him, if that is even possible under international law," Fairley, a former federal prosecutor, told Insider.</p><p>She continued: "Certainly those decisions are going to be made by the highest levels at the Department of Justice because of the political implications. That's a pretty serious matter when you're bringing in someone of that stature. I imagine that's going to be really discussed all the way up to the top."</p><h2>Prosecutors would only offer immunity if they knew Andrew has valuable information</h2><p>Prosecutors only give out immunity when they know that a witness has information that they won't be able to win their trial without, Fairley said.</p><p>"I think that's what prosecutors are probably trying to figure out right now - what information he could potentially have that would inform their case," she said.</p><p>Even if they decide to offer immunity, Fairley said full immunity is rare.</p><p class="source"><span><a href="https://www.gettyimages.com/detail/news-photo/melania-trump-prince-andrew-gwendolyn-beck-and-jeffrey-news-photo/1192977806?adppopup=true">Davidoff Studios/Getty Images</a></span></p><p class="caption">Prince Andrew (second left) and Epstein (right) share a laugh at Mar-a-Lago in 2000, with Melania Trump on the far left.</p><p>"Sometimes what you'll have is what's called a 'proffer discussion.' And that's where anything that a witness says in the context of a proffer interview cannot be used against them in a criminal trial," Fairley said, adding that what they say must be truthful in order to count.</p><p>Interestingly, this tactic is also called getting to be "<a href="https://www.wisenberglaw.com/Articles/Queen-For-A-Day-The-Dangerous-Game-of-Proffers-Proffer-Agreements-and-Proffer-Letters.shtml">Queen for a day</a>."</p><p>(Fairley said it's important to note that the government can still use the information that they get in a proffer interview to develop leads in a case that could potentially uncover other evidence that might be used against the witness.)</p><p>Penson said prosecutors could also offer to keep Andrew's testimony under seal, or protect him from being served with a lawsuit if he comes to the US for the talk.</p><p>The former is less likely though, due to the public interest in the case, Penson said.</p><h2>Prince Andrew's woes are likely more about his image than legal concerns</h2><p>Prince Andrew's connection to the Epstein affair is Giuffre's allegation that Epstein paid her to sleep with the prince twice, when she was a minor (again, <a href="https://www.insider.com/prince-andrew-suggests-virginia-roberts-epstein-photo-is-fake-2019-11">Andrew denies having met her</a>).</p><p class="source"><span>Florida Southern District Court</span></p><p class="caption">Prince Andrew and Virginia Roberts Giuffre, along with Ghislaine Maxwell. This photo was included in an affidavit in which Giuffre alleged Prince Andrew directed her to have sex with him.</p><p>Though Giuffre alleges that sex acts with Andrew date back to 2001, there is no statute of limitations on the federal level when it comes to participating in the sex trafficking of a minor, so Andrew could technically still be charged if investigators find evidence to back up her claim.</p><p>But the language of the law provides him an out.
