After all, growing your team isn't simply about finding more people, it's about finding the right ones."That has helped us a huge amount because it means that we've been able to hire really good people through our own networks and through our own marketing channels."Generating engagement and excitement for your brand is vital for a startup, Athill says, and not only because it drives sales."Without it, it's very hard to compete in the job space for the very best people," he said. "They want to work for a cool, exciting company that they've heard of."It all comes down to a numbers game for Athill, who said that reaching a wider audience improves the odds that he will find a good fit to join the team.<h2>Get help from a pro to filter your prospects</h2>Once you've amassed a sizable applicant pool, Athill recommended that early-stage startups outsource the screening process to a recruiter as they grow beyond 10 people or so."A good recruiter can pay back their weight in gold," he said. "Use your digital marketing skills and brand to fill a huge funnel [of applicants], and get [the recruiter] to assess that funnel."Having an independent perspective can help you save your energy and attention for the most promising candidates."Don't let yourself get in a position where you're going into interviews hoping that the person is great, because then you've left it too late, and now you're under a lot of pressure to fill that seat," Athill said.And there can be a real cost to making a bad match, especially if one of the core leadership has to find a replacement for a new hire that didn't work out."If one person is focused on hiring for a week, that's a very big distraction. So I would avoid doing that," Athill said.

A deal would have created a luxury goods giant worth over $20 billion (£15.7 billion). Coach is known for its handbags while Burberry is best known for its iconic check pattern and trench coats.Both Burberry and Coach declined to comment to the FT and Burberry has not released a statement to the market on Monday morning. But then shortly after, [Roitfeld] actually got called by French Vogue and assigned to become editor-in-chief. She sat me down and she was like 'Would you come with me to French Vogue if I go there?' and I said 'Yeah, of course.' So I started as her assistant at French Vogue."America makes it much easier for small businesses to grow." Paris was getting a little small. America seemed to be the better place, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/garrett-leight-millennial-eyewear-brand-glco-interview-2020-1">the country of opportunities</a>. I founded my company 13 years ago when I moved to New York as a freelancer. I worked for a lot of different magazines, but I wasn't employed by any of them. It was different then; I just had one assistant with me. Now, I actually have many people who work for me. Delegating is far more important now. It's like puzzle pieces."My job consists of four different jobs, really." I am the Fashion Director of InStyle magazine, I'm my own boss in my own company, I style celebrities for everyday and for the red carpet, I do consulting for brands, and I also style fashion shows and do collaborations with brands. Every day is totally different. It's all the same hat but in different colors; same purpose, but different approaches."[Celebrity styling] is something that came out of the blue." I was [styling] a couple of celebrities for Harper's Bazaar US because I was freelancing for [the magazine] and I got along very well with them … They'd have wonderful talent [whom] I found so inspiring. They're different shapes, they're different colors, different types of women. It was so inspiring to work with them and collaborate - not just put a dress on them - but to work together."One day, someone who I had worked with on a couple of occasions called me."[She] was like, 'I know that's not really what you do, but can we maybe work together?' and I loved that so much, although I was so frightened because ... [celebrity styling] is a very different beast than just styling for magazines. It's a very different approach. You have to do everything differently. You have to also keep in mind that the eyes watching you are not 'fashion people.'"Learning by doing was my approach, and I had the best teacher."It was a wonderful learning process and wonderful feeling that somebody trusted me. I still only work with people that I really love deeply. For me it's important, because I give everything when I work and I need to do it for somebody that I respect."I worked with <a href="https://www.instagram.com/laurabrown99/?hl=en">[InStyle's editor-in-chief] Laura Brown</a> a lot at <a href="https://www.harpersbazaar.com/">Harper's Bazaar</a>." As I was shooting a lot with celebrities, she was writing all of their interviews ... She called me at some point and asked if I wanted to take a position [at InStyle] and I had said no to so many things before, and so many things after, but because we had this connection ... I thought it was a great challenge to bring my knowledge to the magazine. For example, the whole political climate has reflected on how women dress lately. Everybody wears blazers; everybody wears men's shirts and ties. I just do it because I think that's how I was built ... All of my assistants have become really amazing stylists. They're very good, steady, and hardworking stylists that have a foundation, and that's one of the things that makes me the happiest.

In a new <a href="http://www.vanityfair.com/vf-hollywood/2014/11/angelina-jolie-cover" target="_blank">Vanity Fair cover story</a>, the Oscar-winning Goodwill Ambassador admits she is "open" to a political career.
"When you work as a humanitarian, you are conscious that <keyword id="6358883" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Politics">politics</keyword> have to be considered," said Jolie, "Because if you really want to make an extreme change, then you have a responsibility."
Jolie, 39, became a UN Goodwill Ambassador in 2001 and has risen to the rank of director and special envoy for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

In October, Queen Elizabeth II made her an <a href="http://www.eonline.com/news/587233/angelina-jolie-becomes-honorary-dame-during-buckingham-palace-reception-with-queen-elizabeth-ii" target="_blank">honorary dame</a> for her work to fight sexual violence and for services to U.K. foreign policy. 
Jolie's only hesitation in switching to a career in politics is that people won't take her seriously because she is an actress.
"I honestly don't know in what role I would be more useful - I am conscious of what I do for a living, and that [could] make it less possible," Jolie told VF.
But, Jolie says, she is "open" to pursuing a life in politics, diplomacy, or public service.

“I’ve never said this before, because there is no way to say it without it being completely misunderstood, but ever since I was really little, I always had a very normal idea of what I wanted," the 22-year-old told the magazine.
“I always knew that I was going to be famous," she said during the four hour interview over lunch at the Odeon in Tribeca. "I honest to God don’t know how else to describe it.”
She adds, “I used to lie in bed and wonder, Am I going to be a local TV person? Am I going to a motivational speaker? It wasn’t a vision. But as it’s kind of happening, you have this buried understanding: Of course.”
Lawrence's "Silver Linings Playbook" director, David O. Russell, saw the young actress' fame materialize before his very eyes.
“When she first showed up on the set of 'Silver Linings,' she was asking Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro what it’s like to have <keyword id="6360040" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="people">people</keyword> come up to you on the street,” he tells Vogue. “That wasn’t really happening to her. People didn’t really know who she was. But by the time the film was released and we did an event in Santa Barbara, it was like being at a Beatles concert. There were thousands of screaming people. It was mind-blowing."
Woody Harrelson, who co-starred alongside Lawrence in "Hunger Games," says the "it girl" doesn't act like one and always creates a fun atmosphere on set.
 “She is one-of-a-kind, man. She is so herself," he tells the magazine. "I love how she doesn’t censor herself. She says the most outrageous sh--. Just incredible, the stuff she’ll say.”
Jodie Foster, who directed Lawrence in "The Beaver" in 2011, agrees: “It’s one of the things that I love about her the most — her rapid-fire teenage-boy-humor brain.” 
As for where she gets her sense of humor, Lawrence tells Vogue: “You have to be funny in our family, to survive, because we are so mean to each other.”
