<ul><li>The speciality chemical manufacturing company is looking to raise ₹500 crore through the public issue.</li><li>The company earns 30% of revenue from pharmaceutical and agrochemical intermediates and other specialty chemicals (PASC), which are basically export orders shifted from China to India.</li><li><keyword id="11575469" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="tatva-chintan-pharma-chem">Tatva Chintan Pharma Chem</keyword> manufactures a range of products in speciality chemicals that serves various industries including the automotive, petroleum, pharmaceutical, agro chemicals and so on.</li></ul>The Gujarat-based speciality chemical company, Tatva Chintan Pharma Chem, is coming up with an initial public offering (IPO) on July 16. While the company earns a large portion of revenue from exporting, the whole anti China product sentiment has proved to be a boon for the company. In an interview with Business Insider ahead of the IPO, Mahesh Tanna, chief financial officer (CFO) at Tatva Chintan Pharma Chem shared that pharmaceutical and agrochemical intermediates and other specialty chemicals (PASC) segment is getting almost 30% of revenues from countries that have been looking for alternatives other than Chinese products. This particular PASC category includes specialty chemicals which are used as intermediates, disinfectants, catalysts and solvents. “China Plus one policy is what is actually the reason why we have this whole segment of pharmaceutical and agrochemical intermediates and other specialty chemicals (PASC)... our existing customers are largely pharmaceutical and agrochemical companies who are heavily dependent upon supplies from China. Post this environmental issue that happened in China and China Plus One policy, we were given this opportunity if interested we can look into developing pharma and agrochemical intermediates what they were looking for...Today, this PASC segment is contributing almost 25-30% of our revenues. This segment did not exist before 2006,” said Tanna. China Plus One is the business strategy to avoid investing only in China and diversify business into other countries. Tatva Chintan Pharma Chem receives 70% of the revenue from exports to over 25 countries including the USA, China, Germany, Japan, South Africa, and the UK, whereas the rest 30% comes from domestic markets. PASC segment delivered 30.37% revenue in FY21, 29.06% in FY20 and 42.39% in FY19. Sales in exports were definitely impacted from April to September 2020 primarily because of logistics. However, from October end everything came back to normalcy, said Tanna. Commenting on the impact of another complete lockdown, Tanna said in the second lockdown there was zero impact on industrial activities. So, if any lockdown happens pertaining to COVID-19 probably in 2021, it should not create any problem for them. He showed optimism about the chemical sector overall and believes the growth trend will continue like the last three years. The portion for qualified institutional investors was subscribed 10.36 times while the non-institutional investor category received a bid for 4.39 times. The IPO has received decent response from investors overall, however, qualified institutional buyers and non-institutional investors subscribed to it the most. A tepid response from investors and weak grey market premium indicates a weak listing for the company’s stock. The grey market premium slipped to ₹4 from ₹70 in the last week. However, analysts expect the mutual industry’s AUM to grow by 11-13% in the next five years at ₹57 trillion and Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC to benefit from strong industry prospects given it is among the top five players. The ₹36 trillion mutual fund industry in India, with 44 players may see consolidation happening in the next couple of years considering the majority of the market is held by the country’s top 10 fund houses, said the company in an interview to Business Insider. Hence it recommends subscribing to the issue from a long-term perspective. In an interview with Business Insider ahead of the IPO, Mahesh Tanna, chief financial officer (CFO) at Tatva Chintan Pharma Chem highlighted that pharmaceutical and agrochemical intermediates and other specialty chemicals (PASC) segment is getting almost 30% of revenues from countries that have been looking for alternatives other than Chinese products. The PASC category includes specialty chemicals which are used as intermediates, disinfectants, catalysts and solvents. Many countries have started following China Plus One policy, which is the business strategy to avoid investing only in China and diversify business into other countries. “India’s specialty chemical companies are gaining favour with global multinationals because of the geopolitical shift after the outbreak of covid-19 as the world looks to reduce dependence on China. Currently, China accounts for approximately 15-17% of the world’s exportable specialty chemicals, whereas India accounts for just 1-2%, indicating that the country has a large scope of improvement and widespread opportunity. It is anticipated that specialty chemicals will be the next great export pillar for India,” said Sharekhan in a report. The overall global specialty chemical market stood at approximately $800 billion in 2019, and is expected to grow by 5-6% in the next five years, added the report. Analysts at Reliance Securities believe the company has a robust earnings growth potential in the long-run led by strong market share, capacity expansion and long-standing relationship with the key customers. “Moreover, the high valuations of the company’s issue price are justified given the high growth potential, dominant player, exposure to green energy, and strong balance sheet,” said a research report by Ventura Securities. Today, September 3, is the last day to subscribe to its IPO. In the last few months, three speciality chemicals companies -- Clean Science and Technology, Tatva Chintan Pharma Chem and Chemplast Sanmar -- had hit the market. Except for Chemplast Sanmar, the other two made a strong listing on the exchanges. Enthuthiasm around <keyword id="11958218" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ami-organics-ipo" source="Orion">Ami Organics IPO</keyword> is huge given the IPO was fully subscribed in the first few hours on the first day of bidding. As of September 2, the IPO has been oversubscribed by 3.90 times. The IPO has received bids for 2.55 crore equity shares against the IPO size of 65.36 lakh equity shares. With the IPO proceeds, the Gujarat-based specialty chemicals company will pay off its debt worth ₹140 crore and become debt-free, Naresh Patel, chief managing director of Ami Organics, said in an interview with Business Insider. The grey market indicates a premium of over ₹150 on the issue price. It has set a price band of ₹603 to ₹610.
