New Delhi, Jun 10 () Lakshmi Vilas Bank (LVB) on Wednesday said it has appointed B K Manjunath as its non-executive and independent director. The bank's board of directors at its meeting on Wednesday co-opted B K Manjunath as additional director, LVB said in a regulatory filing. Manjunath has been classified as non-executive and independent director, it said. Manjunath is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and practising as a chartered accountant. He has an experience of over 30 years in audit, accountancy, taxation, finance, business management and administration. He had also served as an independent director of the bank between 2008 and 2015, and as its part-time chairman during the June 2017-June 2020 period, LVB said. KPM HRS

The murder of this IIM braveheart for his whistleblowing act is still considered a national tragedy, but Varma’s kind of docu-drama unfolds a dark reality that’s too chilling and too gut-wrenching to give way to tears. The movie meanders at times, but the protagonist, brilliantly played by newcomer <keyword id="2239401" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Sasho-Satish-Saarthy">Sasho Satish Saarthy</keyword>, takes you to a world where <keyword id="46183" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Corruption">corruption</keyword> is a way of life. However, the verdict at the domestic box office has been harsh and Manjunath only managed to nett around Rs 1 crore after Day 4 while debut day earnings were a paltry Rs 15-20 lakh. 
 
Koyelaanchal: Look what’s unearthed 
The second flick under scanner is Koyelaanchal, produced and directed by <keyword id="1235537" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ashu-Trikha">Ashu Trikha</keyword>. After <keyword id="486655" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="Gangs-of-Wasseypur">Gangs of Wasseypur</keyword> and <keyword id="6427325" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Gunday">Gunday</keyword>, it is the latest from Bollywood on the exploits of the <keyword id="85025" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="coal-mafia">coal mafia</keyword> and had a huge release, especially in single screens. But the film tripped at the box office and collected about Rs 45 lakh on the opening day. Although official numbers are yet to come in, total earnings spanning the first three days are a little below Rs 2 crore, as per industry estimates. 
 
In Koyelaanchal, we again come face to face with all-pervading corruption and criminal use of natural resources. This time, it is the coal <keyword id="2239403" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Mafioso-Saryubhan-Singh">Mafioso Saryubhan Singh</keyword> aka Maalik (<keyword id="6430614" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Vinod-Khanna">Vinod Khanna</keyword>), who rules the mines of the <keyword id="2239414" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bihar-Jharkhand-belt">Bihar-Jharkhand belt</keyword> and locks horns with <keyword id="6359011" type="POSITION" weightage="80" keywordseo="District-Collector">district collector</keyword> <keyword id="2239402" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Nisheeth-Kumar">Nisheeth Kumar</keyword> (<keyword id="7646" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="suniel-shetty">Suniel Shetty</keyword>) when he raises troublesome questions. <keyword id="819709" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="80" keywordseo="the-script">The script</keyword> goes haywire at times, but the USP here happen to be the thorough research and the realistic take at a time when a multi-billion-dollar Coalgate scam has deeply shaken the nation. 
 
 
 
Mastram: Morality decoded 
Next comes Mastram, again an offbeat movie that deals with a sexually repressed society and its ingrained hypocrisy. But the man finally excels as he starts writing erotica and along with that, begins a painful <keyword id="6374782" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="journey">journey</keyword> of self-realisation. Made on a budget of around Rs 2 crore, this ‘fictional biography’ had collected around Rs 75 lakh on the opening day at the domestic box office and its earnings stood at a little over Rs 3 crore after the first Monday. 
 
Hawaa Hawaai: Breezy &amp; smooth-flowing 
Back again after <keyword id="63220" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Stanley-Ka-Dabba">Stanley Ka Dabba</keyword> (well, that one grossed a little over Rs 5 crore), director-writer <keyword id="91815" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Amol-Gupte">Amol Gupte</keyword>’s <keyword id="2239418" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Commercial-entertainer">commercial entertainer</keyword> Hawaa Hawaai has been produced by <keyword id="106474" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Fox-Star-Studios">Fox Star Studios</keyword> and hopes to do better this time. The movie netted around Rs 4.25 crore in the first three days and had an estimated budget of Rs 6 crore. 
 True to his pet genre, Gupte is still catering to the young audience and telling a simple tale with a touching innocence that will win every heart. But the emotional outing and catch-my-dream theme are fraught with grim realities as well. <keyword id="2234714" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Arjun-Harishchandra-Waghmare">Arjun Harishchandra Waghmare</keyword> (Amol’s son <keyword id="678010" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Partho-Gupte">Partho Gupte</keyword>) is a migrant <keyword id="6377229" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Child-labour">child labour</keyword> who toils hard at a roadside restaurant in Mumbai but wants to become a <keyword id="2239398" type="POSITION" weightage="100" keywordseo="champion-roller-skater">champion roller-skater</keyword>. That’s not too difficult when the <keyword id="2239405" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="kind-hearted-coach">kind-hearted coach</keyword> <keyword id="6369280" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Lucky">Lucky</keyword> (<keyword id="684700" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Saqib-Saleem">Saqib Saleem</keyword>) is willing to help and his poor but large-hearted peers are keen to support him as much as they can. Overall, a thought-provoking movie that flows smoothly without too many hitches.

The other two releases of the week are Yeh Hai Bakrapur and Khwaabb. The scathing attack on blind faith, punctuated with sharp wit, makes it an amply watchable movie. Khwaabb (directed by <keyword id="537936" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Zaid-Ali-Khan">Zaid Ali Khan</keyword>), on the other hand, is a sports-based romance-drama starring <keyword id="1280175" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Navdip-Singh">Navdip Singh</keyword> and <keyword id="708963" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Simer-Motiani">Simer Motiani</keyword>. In spite of some interesting scripts, both movies failed to impact the domestic box office – each collecting a little over Rs 1 crore after the third day. 
 But don’t worry too much even if there has been a box office debacle for some time now. <keyword id="14509" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Rajinikanth">Rajinikanth</keyword>’s <keyword id="1849408" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kochadaiiyaan">Kochadaiiyaan</keyword> is due to be released in a couple of weeks and that will surely set the box office ringing while <keyword id="2239419" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Mainstream-movie-fans">mainstream movie fans</keyword> go crazy about thalaiva.

He termed the US-India Strategic Clean Energy Partnership as a cornerstone of future collaboration between the two countries. He acknowledged the political successes of Prime Minister Modi's party in the recent elections and said the country under Modi's regime has advanced from the 10th largest economy in 2014 to the 5th largest by 2019, surpassing the UK. The minister also pointed towards the Indian government's ambitious urban development initiatives, saying that the country has committed USD 25 billion (Rs 1.57 lakh crore) to urban schemes from 2017 to 2024. He compared this investment to constructing a new Chicago each year, illustrating the rapid expansion of urban infrastructure, including new metro systems and airports. He also noted that India's civil aviation sector is set to grow significantly, with the number of airports increasing from 74 to 150. Some experts speculate that this outcome came from the party failing to address core issues such as employment and economic anxiety, and instead choosing to focus on religious divide to win ballots. Expert institutions, such as Bernstein and Citi Research, have now noted that new spendings may now thus become focused on the poor, women, farmers and rural areas, especially considering how rapidly BJP’s <a href="https://bfsi.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/industry/bias-of-markets-expected-rural-agriculture-to-be-the-new-focus-areas-reports/110728041">vote share has dropped in the rural seats</a>. For context, rural constituencies make up 60% of the total constituencies in India, according to The Economic Times. However, this is not to say that the party has clear favourites among the more developed and richer states either. Many of the richest Indian states have expressed mixed to lukewarm reactions towards BJP this election cycle, and even delivered unexpected shockers. For instance, the NDA lost a lot of ground in Uttar Pradesh, <keyword id="19897316" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Maharashtra" source="keywords">Maharashtra</keyword> and Rajasthan — some states with the biggest economies in the country. As for the current scenario, the party favourite remains mixed. Considering that the country has delayed the National Survey by four years, we have to rely on independent sources to come up with more current state-wide economic statistics. Therefore, as per the India Ratings and Research (Ind-Ra), <keyword id="19896017" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Karnataka" source="keywords">Karnataka</keyword>, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat formed the five largest state economies in India in the 2023 Financial Year. Let’s take a look at how India’s wealthiest states voted in <keyword id="20886626" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Lok-Sabha-2024" source="keywords">Lok Sabha 2024</keyword>. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Karnataka" comment="subhead" text="Karnataka">Karnataka</cmsannotation> Despite struggles with making headway in the South, the BJP had made a clean sweep in Karnataka, bagging 25 seats in the 2019 general elections. As for the four Bengaluru constituencies, BJP managed to cling onto all of them as well, with Tejasvi Surya in Bengaluru South, Shobha Karandlaje in Bengaluru North, P. C. Mohan in Bengaluru Central and C. N. Manjunath in Bengaluru Rural. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Uttar Pradesh" comment="subhead" text="Uttar Pradesh">Uttar Pradesh</cmsannotation> As mentioned earlier, the biggest controversies came out of Uttar Pradesh. Housing prominent figures such as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state has been widely considered as a stronghold for the saffron party, who had won a whopping 62 seats in 2019. However, resident voters were determined to take to the booths to voice their dissent this year. Of the 80 UP constituencies — by far the state with the largest number of seats — 37 were won by the Samajwadi Party. Meanwhile, the BJP held onto 33 seats, and the INC 6. The difference is stark: BJP lost 27 of the seats it won in the previous election cycle. Many prominent figures were dethroned this year, including Smriti Irani in Amethi, Union Minister Ajay Kumar Mishra in Kheri and Maneka Gandhi in Sultanpur. However, perhaps the biggest shocker came from the fact that the BJP also lost the Faizabad Lok Sabha seat, which housed the contentious Ram Temple. Awadesh Prasad of the Samajwadi Party will be chairing the constituency for the next five years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, too, contested for the Varanasi seat, beating INC’s Ajay Rai by a margin of 2.5 lakh votes. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Maharashtra" comment="subhead" text="Maharashtra">Maharashtra</cmsannotation> Another of the biggest losses for the BJP also saw a resurgence for Congress in the state with the highest <keyword id="35050" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="gdp" source="Orion">GDP</keyword>. While the NDA had clinched 41 out of the 48 seats in the previous 2019 elections, it managed to bag a paltry 9 this time around. While this is a monumental loss for the ruling party, they managed to hold firmly onto most of the coastal Konkan belt. Headed by the Mahayuti alliance, the BJP won 7 of the 12 coastal seats, including in Palghar, Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg and Mumbai North. Meanwhile, the Shiv Sena (UBT) maintained its hold on half of the six Mumbai constituencies. Of the four Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) seats, NCP (SP) won Bhiwandi, Shinde-led Shiv Sena won Thane and Kalyan and BJP won Palghar. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Tamil Nadu" comment="subhead" text="Tamil Nadu">Tamil Nadu</cmsannotation> Of all the economic powerhouses, Tamil Nadu was the only state untouched by the BJP this year. Out of the 39 seats in the state, the MK Stalin-led Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) came out victorious in 22, the INC won 9, while a coalition of other parties bagged the remaining seats. This was a massive win for the DMK, especially considering the two major opposition parties, the AIADMK and BJP, had come together to contest this year. Considered by many as BJP's most promising candidate, K Annamalai, too lost to DMK’s Ganapathi P Rajkumar in Coimbatore. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Gujarat" comment="subhead" text="Gujarat">Gujarat</cmsannotation> While most of the other states endured major plot-twists, the story has remained almost the same for Narendra Modi’s home state, Gujarat. As per final polls, the BJP won 25 of the total 26 seats in the state, falling short of a full clean sweep due to INC clutching the final one. However, the INC win in the Banaskantha Lok Sabha seat was no small victory, considering this was the first time in a decade that the party had made ground in the western state. Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah contested and won from state capital Gandhinagar by a massive margin of nearly 7.5 lakh votes.

Mumbai, May 4 () Indian frozen food industry is expected to grow by 17 per cent annually during 2020-24 as the coronavirus pandemic has made people conscious about healthy choices while buying daily essentials, according to experts. Even as many sectors are faced with slump, the frozen food sector has been seeing an upward spiral, growing by the passing day as people grow health conscious, according to a panel discussion organised by the US Soyabean Export Council. Earlier, the high cost of processed food items posed a major challenge for the sector to grow, said the experts. However, a rise in health-conscious and self-aware people in society has entirely transformed the face of the industry. People have started preferring quality over higher costs and traders are also taking utmost care of the involved processes and monitoring of the frozen food to the best of their capabilities. Indian frozen food market is expected to be growing at 17 per cent annually in the period to 2024, according to the report by global market research company IMARC. Manjunath MS, Advisor Cold-chain Consulting said while the sector sees potential for growth, supply chain measures if maintained well will see an exponential rise by having the right contingency plan, best loading practices, trained and qualified professionals and transport management software. The cold chain supply in India was at a nascent stage until now, however, with the change in consumer buying patterns and healthy choices, it is growing well by the passing day, said Daniel Kaplan, Representative, Treasurer and Board Member World Food Logistics Organisation, Virginia, the US. "Encouraging healthy food, the industry is yet to upend.  Sherpa was the most famous among a generation of top-notch artists, who flooded India’s rock music scene in the 1990s and 2000s, from the east and north-eastern part of India. Born in Kalimpong, Sherpa went on to set up a school for aspiring musicians in New Delhi’s Hauz Khaz. Sherpa, or Parikrama for that matter, never became icons in the fullest sense but for the time they remained active, they put out some memorable music and thousands of concerts across the country.  Sherpa was, arguably, one of the most understated stars⁠— in a genre that celebrates outrage— who played the lead guitar for Parikrama, a rock band that was formed in 1991 and peaked in India in the mid-2000s. Iron Maiden even invited the band to perform in the UK. For a band that had painstakingly created a market for a relatively new genre of music in the country, Parikrama never cashed in on the fan following they had built one good at a time. “They are yet to release a full-length album, because they prefer giving out their music for free. They have had millions of downloads from their site and other related pages. They did release a free multimedia CD of their singles and videos in 2001. The band does not have any policies against their music being copied and distributed. They have made their music available for download on their official website,” the band’s Wikipedia page explained. The early 1990s was a watershed moment for rock and metal music in India, as the Rolling Stones described it, for rock enthusiasts in India. Alongside Parikrama, there were colleagues from Indian Ocean, Pentagram and Indus Creed showing the way to thousands of India’s homegrown rockers who followed them. And one of the pioneers, Sherpa, has breathed his last today. The <keyword id="36730" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mumbai-Police">Mumbai Police</keyword> have filed a closure report in the #MeToo case by actress <keyword id="16193" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tanushree-Dutta">Tanushree Dutta</keyword> against Bollywood star <keyword id="6361516" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="nana-patekar">Nana Patekar</keyword> — that triggered a #MeToo movement in India making numerous women coming forward to report sexual harassment cases in the country. "Yes, we have filed a B-Summary Report before the court," Mumbai Police spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner of Police Manjunath Shinge told IANS. A B-Summary report is filed when the investigation can’t be continued due to lack of evidence to support the case. Tanushree Dutta, as per her lawyer Nitin Satpute, is going to challenge the move by Mumbai police. "If the police file any B or C classification of Summary Report, that cannot be final. We shall oppose it before the court. After hearing, if the court is satisfied, then it can again direct the police to re-investigate," Satpute said. Tanushree Dutta lodged an FIR against Nana Patekar in September 2018 alleging that he sexually harassed her during a film shoot in 2008.

But the costs, they told CNN, would be upwards of $70,000 per person.Bindu Manjunath, who's undergoing a series of treatments to address her stage-four liver cancer diagnoses, says she needs to get home to India for medical treatment. She told CNN the costs of the US healthcare system were prohibitive."I had finished all my tests before leaving for the US, (and) a small tumor is still inside (me)," she told CNN. "I really have to get back to continue my treatment — any treatment here would be a burden on my family."It remains unclear when India will allow international travel again. CNN reported that the Foreign Ministry is working with Indian states on bringing residents back from other countries.The Facebook group's founder, Michael Khanna, told CNN he's hopeful people will get back to India sooner rather than later."We are hoping at the minimum, the critical cases get evacuated first. The market researcher stated that the Indian packaged foods market stood at Rs 2,572 billion last calendar, 15% up from Rs 2,232 billion in 2014. 
 
"Domestic manufacturers dominated packaged food in 2015, whereas international players still have to understand the dynamics of the Indian consumer mindset. Domestic manufacturers are also increasing their product portfolios," Euromonitor International research analyst Manjunath Reddy told ET. 
 <keyword id="26280" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="amul">Amul</keyword> topped the list, followed by <keyword id="6376312" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mother-Dairy">Mother Dairy</keyword> as <keyword id="75190" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Nestle">Nestle</keyword> toppled due to <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Nestle-in-trouble-again-for-alleged-sub-standard-Maggi/articleshow/51619084.cms">Maggi ban</a>. 
 
Even Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) registered a turnover of Rs 23,000 crore for 2015-16, an increase of 11% over the previous year, due to better prices and natural ingredients. 
 
"Responsiveness to changing consumer mindsets and focus on local tastes and flavours is what is helping us drive top lines," Mother Dairy Fruit &amp; Vegetable managing director S Nagarajan told ET.

In <a href="http://www.anandpraka.sh/2016/03/how-i-could-have-hacked-your-facebook.html">a blog post on Monday</a>, he outlined how he "could have hacked all Facebook accounts."Here's how he did it.When you forget your Facebook account password, you're able to request a reset by entering your email address or phone number on the social network's website. A 6-digit temporary login PIN is then sent to the email address or phone number you entered to let you reset the password.Prakash tried to keep guessing the temporary 6-digit PIN on Facebook's website, but he was blocked after 10-12 attempts. Then he tried the same thing on Facebook's beta site, which is used by developers to test apps on the platform.Because you can still log into any account on beta.facebook.com, Prakash tried to guess the 6-digit PIN and discovered that there was no max attempt number set like on Facebook's normal website. That allowed him to brute force hack the PIN by quickly entering every possible number combination on his computer."I tried to takeover my account (as per Facebook's policy you should not do any harm on any other users account) and was successful in setting new password for my account," he wrote on his blog. "I could then use the same password to login in the account."Prakash immediately reported his findings to Facebook and was awarded a $15,000 bounty for discovering the bug.
