The company's total dispatches to its dealers stood at 58,801 units in February 2023. The Mumbai-based auto major's passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market rose 40 per cent to 42,401 units last month against 30,358 in February last year, the auto major said in a statement. "In our endeavour to make some of our SUVs available faster to consumers, we launched the Scorpio N Z8S variant and the <keyword id="20787041" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="thar-earth" source="keywords">Thar Earth</keyword> edition this month," Mahindra &amp; Mahindra President (Automotive Division) <keyword id="20273717" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="veejay-nakra" source="keywords">Veejay Nakra</keyword> said. The company's total tractor sales last month stood at 21,672 units, a dip of 16 per cent as compared to 25,791 units in the same month last year.

The UK-based group also accorded two stars to <keyword id="21402083" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Honda-Amaze" source="keywords">Honda Amaze</keyword> for adult and zero stars for child occupant safety. It also gave three stars in adult safety and five stars for child occupants to <keyword id="20774736" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kia-Carens" source="keywords">Kia Carens</keyword> after the latest round of crash tests. The highest score on a vehicle crash test is five stars, while the lowest score is zero stars. "We were disappointed to see Mahindra's one star rating for the Bolero Neo. This falls well below the safety performance we have come to expect from the manufacturer," Global NCAP Secretary General Alejandro Furas said in a statement. Mahindra &amp; Mahindra said the company is committed to deliver vehicles that ensure the safety and satisfaction of customers and users. Bolero Neo has always complied with safety regulations that have been introduced over time and continues to be fully compliant with the latest Indian safety standards, it said. "As we are constantly innovating and improving our vehicles to exceed safety regulations, we want to assure our customers and stakeholders that Mahindra has significantly enhanced safety features in all our recent launches," the auto major stated. Models like Thar, XUV700, XUV300, and Scorpio-N have been recognised with high safety ratings of 4- and 5-star by the Global NCAP, reflecting the company's ongoing commitment to safety. Furas said there has been an improvement in Kia's rating for the Carens since its original test when the model scored a zero rating for adult occupant protection. "However, we were expecting a better performance in the retest given the Carens is fitted with six airbags as standard," he added. On Honda Amaze, Furas stated: "Regrettably Honda did not take the opportunity to update the Amaze with more safety features which explains its disappointing score." Commenting on the development, Honda Cars India said the South Africa spec second generation Amaze has already been tested as four star by GNCAP in 2019. "The latest test basis new protocol shows that the total score is of five-star level. "However, mainly due to the requirement of certain equipment like electronic stability control and side curtain airbags, it resulted in lower rating," the automaker said in a statement. Global NCAP accords low safety rating to Bolero Neo, Amaze

Automobile major <keyword id="6357096" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mahindra-Mahindra">Mahindra &amp; Mahindra</keyword> has reported that bookings for 'All-New Thar' SUV has now crossed 15,000 bookings, since its launch on October 2, 2020. "Today 57 per cent of all buyers of the All-New Thar are first time car buyers and a significantly large share of all bookings are for the automatic variants," the company said in a statement on Monday. The all-new Thar will be available in two trims, namely "AX &amp; LX", with prices starting at Rs 9.80 lakh for AX series and Rs 12.49 lakh for LX series. It is powered by two all-new engines "the 2.0L mStallion TGDi" petrol engine, and "the 2.2L mHawk" Diesel engine. "These engines are offered with a choice of 6-speed manual transmission or 6-speed torque converter <keyword id="6747735" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="automatic-transmission">automatic transmission</keyword>, with an authentic 4x4 manual shift transfer case with a low ratio," the company had said on Oct 2nd. Mahindra Thar 2020 crosses 15,000 bookings — 57% are first time car buyers

Utility vehicles major <keyword id="6357096" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mahindra-Mahindra">Mahindra &amp; Mahindra</keyword> (<keyword id="46869" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="MM">M&amp;M</keyword>) on Thursday said it is recalling 1,577 units of its SUV Thar with <keyword id="10704282" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="diesel-powertrain">diesel powertrain</keyword> to replace faulty camshaft, an engine part. The Mumbai-based auto major said it would undertake proactive inspection and replacement of camshaft on a batch of 1,577 units of <keyword id="10703974" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="thar-diesel-variants">Thar diesel variants</keyword>, manufactured between September 7 and December 25, 2020. "A machine setting error at the supplier's plant, on specific dates, may have affected camshafts in some engines of the diesel Thar," M&amp;M said in a regulatory filing. Keeping with the company's stringent quality standards and exercising abundant caution, it has proactively engaged in this limited recall and offered inspection and subsequent rectification, <keyword id="6370553" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="free">free</keyword> of cost, the automaker noted. The company said the affected Thar customers will be individually contacted by the company. As an endeavour to ensure a hassle-free experience for its customers, the company is proactively carrying out this activity, it added. The model comes in two trims -- AX and LX -- with both petrol and diesel powertrain options. All the variants of new Thar come with a four-wheel drive set-up.
