According to a press release, the total consideration for this order is approximately Rs 981.45 Crores. The execution period for this contract spans from August 2024 to August 2025. MSRTC operates a fleet of over 15,000 buses. With this substantial order, Ashok Leyland buses will now dominate its fleet. These modern, fully built buses will comply with the latest Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR) standards and feature AIS 153 compliant bodies. The order, awarded by the domestic entity MSRTC, is for the supply of BSVI OBD II Diesel Fuel Type Fully Built Passenger Buses. MSRTC, one of India's largest state transport undertakings, operates a fleet of over 15,000 buses. With this substantial order, Ashok Leyland buses will now dominate its fleet. These modern, fully built buses will comply with the latest Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR) standards and feature AIS 153 compliant bodies. They will also be equipped with the proven iGEN6 BS VI OBD II technology, boasting a 197 HP H-Series Engine and Rear Air Suspension, among other advanced features. The buses will be manufactured at Ashok Leyland's exclusive bus body plants using state-of-the-art technology, ensuring enhanced safety, improved comfort, and a lower total cost of ownership for MSRTC. New Delhi, Dec 3 () One97 Communications Ltd, which owns Paytm, on Tuesday said it has made a strategic investment in Rajkot-based bus ticketing solutions provider Infinity Transoft Solutions.
 While the company did not disclose investment details, sources close to the development said Paytm has pumped in upwards of Rs 10 crore.
Paytm entered the online bus ticketing space in 2015 and currently offers bus tickets across more than 62,000 routes through its integrations with more than 2,000 private bus operators. 
 It also offers online ticketing for state-run road transport corporations in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and others.
"We are excited to announce our strategic association with Infinity. This partnership will help us bolster our payments and ticketing technology solutions for bus operators and enable us to provide a more seamless booking and post booking experience to our growing base of online bus ticketing customers," Paytm Senior Vice President Abhishek Rajan said in a statement.
Founded in 2008 by Bhavesh Gadhethariya, Infinity provides fleet operations and inventory management software and technology solutions to bus operators, and cargo and logistics companies.
It also offers live vehicle tracking through GPS, travel booking platform for offline agents and in-bus entertainment system through its proprietary 'MagicBox' hardware and software solution. 
"With this investment, we will be able to rapidly develop travel-focussed tech products and expand our footprint pan-India. We aim to make bus operator profitable by using artificial intelligence, which will result into better operational efficiency and better facility will be provided to passengers," Infinity co-founder and Director Rajiv

Paytm invests in bus ticketing software provider Infinity

Mumbai, Feb 14 () Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari on Friday inaugurated the first inter-city electric bus service, between Mumbai and Pune. The 43-seater capacity luxury electric bus, manufactured by Mitra Mobility Solution, has a range of 300 kilometre on a single charge and would be operated twice daily between the two cities, the operator Prasanna Purple Mobility Solutions said. The company, which already has around 1,300 electric buses in operation, is also looking to extend these services in other parts of Maharashtra and adjoining states, its Chairman and Managing Director Prasanna Patwardhan said. Speaking at the event Gadkari, who is the Minister for Transport, Highways and MSMEs, said his efforts in the last 4-5 years have been to see that electric buses run in large numbers on the country's highways. He also said various corporations, state government corporations and private operators might order some 10,000 electric buses this year. "We are also planning to build e-(electric) highways," he said. "This new move in the electric vehicle space gives us yet another opportunity to serve our customers. In fact, in a shocking protest in 2017, the state’s farmers emptied milk onto the streets leaving the government red faced. The state has a new crime capital in Nagpur The state also has another problem that is ballooning—increasing crime in Nagpur. The constituency of the ruling chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has turned notorious for organized and unorganized crime. On an average, over 700 cases are registered in the city which shares a border with Madhya Pradesh. Apart from increased organized crime and racketeering, the city has also<a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/nagpur/cops-got-cracking-to-remove-nagpurs-crime-capital-tag/articleshow/71283462.cms"> turned infamous</a> for prostitution, murder and attempted murder cases, amongst others. Fadnavis has been trying to turn around the extensive crime using stringent laws against anti-social elements. This started in 2015, but there has only been a slight change in the number of crimes. The opposition parties were conspicuous in their absence on ground over the issue and thus, it never took a political dimension. Yet, a lot has changed since Modi came to power the second time. For one, the economic slowdown has become a grim reality and painful reality—which the central government has been slow to react to. Maharashtra’s election outcomes often mirror the general elections that have preceded them in recent years but surprises are born out of complacency. But for that, there has to be a credible intent, palpable energy, and effective communication from the opposition.

A powerful explosion, triggered by Maoists in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli has claimed the life of 15 security personnel and their driver. According to preliminary reports, an IED (improvised explosive device) was set off on a police vehicle. Around 3:30 am on Tuesday, Maoists torched 25 vehicles, using petrol and diesel in Kurkheda, Gadchiroli. PM Narendra Modi condemned the incident, calling it despicable.  Gadchiroli is a Maoist-affected district that borders Chhattisgarh. The district recently voted in the first phase of India’s general elections on April 11. The same day, Maoists have set off another IED blast in Gadchiroli on April 11. However, no one was injured in the event. On April 10, a CRPF soldier was injured in an IED blast in Gadchiroli. Home Minister Rajnath Singh also took to Twitter to condemn the attacks.

 Maharashtra DGP Subodh Jaiswal has said that the investigation is underway. According to the initial reports, the bus carrying 15 commandos was en route to the attack site where the Maoists had set ablaze 27 vehicles. The commando bus was targeted by the Maoists that killed all the 15 commandos and the driver. In April 2018, security forces carried one of the biggest anti-Maoist operations in Maharashtra, eliminating over 40 rebels. On a day when Maharashtra celebrates its statehood, the incident has raised alarms over security arrangements in sensitive areas of the state.
